A New Story "Change is a part of life, why not put it to song and story?"
Private Rp | Sinarin x Yumiko Yumiko "Wherever you go, go with all your heart."
Post 1 | WC 335 It had started out as a normal day for Yumiko. Admittedly, she had not been in Sirith for… some months, given her wanderings as a bard - The members of war forged, while gruff and rough around the edges, certainly had an ear for tales inside the taverns! But here she was, returning to her home land for a short while, mainly to renew her papers… Though it was a rather, shocking surprise to see the crystalline structures in the distance as she approached the cities of Briem. But, she presumed she could get explanations as she returned, and poked her nose around. And so it was with a hum, that the red and white unicorn continued her leisurely careful walk - It wouldn’t do if she were to fall into a hole after all as she started her trek to skirt the vastlands to hopefully avoid the worst of the holes into the caves below.
Of course, she wasn’t being the smartest about this regardless, given that she traveled alone. But she felt rather confident in that roaming thieves wouldn’t target her - She didn’t exactly look like she had much of anything, and really, she didn’t. Just a handful of shards tucked into her bag along with the papers that gave her… well, iffy, safety from slavers given how desperate they had seemed as she was leaving the mountain slopes. Perhaps she ought to stay with her parents for a time? Well, regardless, that required her making it safely back to Nariah. And so with a hum, the unicorn continued her solitary trek.
At least until one of her hooves slipped into a hole and got stuck. “Ack! Oh horsefeathers…” She mumbled, looking around, hoping against reason that there was someone, anyone nearby who could help get her hoof free. “Hello? Anyone close?” She called, while she attempted, though poorly, to try and work her hoof free. “Ow… ow… ow… I do not want to be dealing with a broken foot here, not now…” she grumbled.

The stallion moved along the uneven ground, sharp silver eyes keeping a look out. He was nimble, thankfully, and used to this terrain, though the image on the horizon had definitely changed with the advent of the crystal city now pulled from the earth.
His ears swiveled as he listened out for his familiar, the magpie was flying ahead to scout for him -- alerting him to any potential trouble or targets. The stallion was out on a Missionary quest, heading back home after a week spent out traveling and chatting up any equines he could about his chaotic deity.
It was with actual surprise that he heard Mags call out to him, swooping back to hover over his head a moment before darting off again to one side. “Oh now, what do we have?” Sinarin murmured to himself, curiosity perking as he turned to follow the familiar. It didn’t take very long before he saw an equine figure in the distance. However, Mags didn’t fly in the symbol that would mark the other horse a target, instead the bird was making himself known.
So this was something else.
“Well now, looks like you need a helping hoof, my dear. Might I be of assistance?” the thief inquired, grinning and casting a wink to the unicorn mare as he drew near and stopped, head dipping as he peered down at her trapped hoof.

Yumiko "Wherever you go, go with all your heart."
Post 2 | WC 196
Yumiko was starting to give up hope of getting her hoof out of the earth that had made it so stuck. "Please is there any-" she paused, hearing a magpie's call. She glanced up to see the bird swooping above her, and she hummed. "Are you someone's familiar?" She mused, glancing around, finally noticing the approaching stranger "Oh thank Argus someone was nearby! Yes, please, I do rather need some help… I can't seem to get my hoof back out of this hole, and I'd really rather not continue my trek with a broken hoof… It really is a blessing that you were nearby!" Yumiko gave a small smile to the stallion who had approached her. "If you can help get me free, please do, by all means!" She hummed, having paused in her so-far fruitless struggle to get free. "The soil I manage to remove is unfortunately swiftly replaced by the loose dirt around so it has been… rather a struggle trying to get my hoof out on its own… Do you perhaps have a shovel, or perhaps are blessed by Kaia?" She asked, almost rambling as she chattered to the one offering to help.

The stallion chuckled as the mare chattered away. Clearly she wasn't shy in the least, and was used to dealing with others. "Settle down there, my gem, no worries. I can see it's been a struggle, indeed!" He commented as he looked over the churned up dirt, scattered uselessly nearby and simply waiting to fall back into the whole as soon as space was made.
Mags settled atop his saddle bags as the unicorn continued to speak, clearly relieved she'd found help. "Well, no, my little gemstone. I've neither shovel nor Kaia blessing, though I do have something just as good!" Sinarin remarked with a wink.
Reaching inside for his blessing, he imagined a circle of the earth a few inches wider than what contained the trapped hoof. With only a small effort, he willed that patch intangible, leaving the unicorn's appendage free once more. When Yumiko stepped back, he released his blessing, and the patch of earth became tangible once more.
"Ta-da!" Sinarin exclaimed with a flourishing bow, grinning widely. "A special variant of Cascade's intangibility, modified just for yours truly."

Post 3 | WC 223 "Your gem…?" She mumbled, ducking her head to hide the slight blush. When the one helping her said he had neither shovel nor Kaia's blessing, she was rather confused. "Just as good? What could be - Oh." She hummed, a bit stunned as suddenly her hoof simply slipped free of the dirt. "Goodness that's really rather impressive!" She exclaimed, as she stepped away from the treacherous hole that had trapped her, though now she couldn't say she was unhappy, given all the questions this stranger had now spawned for her. "But… intangibility? A variant? How is that even possible, aren't the gods blessings limited in their scope? While there's some variance, user to user they abilities all usually line up about the same, especially when it comes to Cascades!" She exclaimed, her curiosity causing her eyes to sparkle as she looked up at him "How could you make the ground around my hoof intangible?" She asked, before pausing "Oh heavens, where are my manners! Thank you so, so much for helping me out of that. My name is Yumiko, and it's a pleasure to meet you." She smiled sweetly up at him. "Perhaps we could talk and walk so that at the very least I can make further progress to Nariah. Have to make sure my papers stay up to date, y'know?" She chuckled

The missionary grinned, pleased at the compliment. He was even more pleased when he saw the spark of curiosity light up in her eyes, eager to know more about his blessing. He had hoped to lure her into further conversation about it, and she was going right along with it. At the pause, Sinarin tilted his head, but then nodded with a chuckle.
"Of course, Yumiko, it's a pleasure to save and walk with you. It's actually not too far out of the way for me, either. The name's Sinarin, and my familiar is Mags," the thief announced, with a flourishing, theatrical bow, before striking out at a steady pace beside his new companion. "Are you sure your hoof isn't injured at all? We don't want to hurt it further with walking on it unbandaged," Sin remarked, tilting his head and sounding halfway serious for a moment.
"As for the questions about my blessing, you're right. The old gods are limited in their blessings, and they haven't changed at all." Words were dismissive about the original pantheon, dismissing them with a flick of his tail and a derisive grin. "Have you heard of the new god Digend, though, my gemstone? She built a Sanctuary inside Skytop Forest for the misfits of the world to find a home. She can alter the blessings of the gods who no longer to listen to the mortals who believe in them, making them unique to the user. I can no long become intangible myself, but I can make areas both large and small intangible at my choosing, now."
The common horse's expression and tone became passionate as he spoke, silver eyes bright as they walked, head automatically turning toward where his home was.
"Digend is Freedom, Luck, and Change."

Yumiko "Wherever you go, go with all your heart."
Post 4 | WC 268 Yumiko hummed, giggling a moment at his bow. Sinarin and Mags. A pleasure!" She smiled, pausing a brief moment, glancing at her hood at the inquiry, sighing a bit "If I had bandages, I would indeed pause a moment to wrap it just in case, but at the moment I don't feel any pain when I put my weight on it, at the very least, so I think it should be fine?" She mused, tilting her head a bit, looking up at him as they walked, her ears flicking as she picked up on the dismissive tones of his speech, her step pausing as she heard the name Digend. "I… you m-mean like the cult?" Yumiko asked, a note of fear slipping into her voice. "But you're so nice… I find it hard to believe that you'd be associated with them…" she started rambling, her movement forwards stopped "There was nothing going on in the Skytop forest the last time I passed near there… I… I don't know what to make of this, I've only heard stories of horror, of blood and death! And the Digend in stories I've heard… Has never had actual power, certainly not like what you're talking about! I… I really don't know what to make of what you're saying, Sinarin." She admitted. "I'm now dreadfully curious… Freedom, luck and change…" She was back to mumbling "...I've always desired the simple freedom of travel - that's why I left the safety of the tunnels to begin with, to become a roaming bard, so I can't say talking of a god that valued that is uninteresting…"

At the mention of the cult, the stallion's ears flickered backwards, and he snorted rudely. "Alya's Ass, no! Those bloody bastards have nothing to do with me or Asylon," he replied, giving a violent shake of his head. His demeanor had lost much of it's previous jovial quality, such was his vehement denial of their connection. "I can't say they don't also worship Digend, and it's true she probably uses them to some purpose, but I wouldn't do anywhere near those lunatics, and they can't get into Asylon either. No one can without a Missionary or invitation from Digend herself," the thief added, his previous manner returning with an air of pride.
"Her doings have all been pretty recent, I've got to say. Have you heard about the Towers that have gone up in different countries? That was her doing. I was there when the Bone Tower was made, and She came forth. She even gave me this necklace, and I tell you, it's a lucky thing alright. About as lucky as you, gemstone," Sinarin added, grinning and winking as he lifted the necklace with the swirling gem so that she might get a closer look if she wished.
"Of course, you don't have to believe me if you don't want to. But, and here me out, if you're interested in a great story, you can always come with me back to Asylon and look for yourself. You can always leave if you don't like the looks of it."

Yumiko "Wherever you go, go with all your heart."
Post 5 | WC 183 "Oh thank goodness." Yumiko let out a sigh of relief, at Sinarin's utter denial of any connection to the cult. She hummed as he went from happily talking, to serious, and then back to joviality as he said that only those invited by missionaries or Digend herself could go to this Asylon place. "...Asylon?" She questioned with a tilt of her head, peering at the necklace as she continued to speak, attempting to mask her growing embarrassment from his flirts, "Is that the name of the sanctuary you mentioned earlier? And… the Bone Tower… it sounds rather familiar… Wait, was that the tower that rose at the Wordsmith Gathering last spring? I… admittedly, I was terrified by those visions then and fled the gathering in the midst of it all." She was a bit sheepish as she said that. "I… Certainly am rather interested though, that much is true though." Yumiko hummed. "So I suppose… lead the way then, Sinarin." She looked up at him with a small smile "At least, given how you've invited me, that you are one of these missionaries?"
