Aerynn || Eminent || Post One
Aerynn's hooves clicked against the cobblestones as they followed Chairi through the crowds. The dark bay hippocampus was moving at a rather nice clip, knowing that Aerynn's long legs would be able to keep up. Despite this, the foal was snorting for breath already, and his eyes bounced left and right as he searched for something, anything that might catch his attention. And with him being so young, it was easy enough for that attention to be grabbed. Something shiny, gold perhaps, caught the child's eye, and he stopped for just a second. It was a bridle, decorated with rubies, sapphires, and emeralds, while the leather was leafed in gold, and small, delicate chains hung from the front of it, catching eyes left and right as they glittered in Ignacio's warm sunlight. Aerynn felt his heart tug at the thing; he wanted it. And so, he turned to look over his shoulder, to ask his father if they could find one in his size.
But Chairi, in his rush, had neglected to notice that his son was no longer by his side. The bay stallion was nowhere to be seen. Dread, cold and hard, fell into the pit of the child's stomach, and he felt his heart race faster and faster. Where was Chairi? There was absolutely no sign of the dark bay splash, who had bustled away, carried off by the crowd and his own thoughts.
"Papa?" Called out the small creature, his heart in his throat. "Papa?" Again, he was crying, but no one was there to hear his plea. A few horses looked over, but none of them seemed to be willing to stop their business to help the small child. And with no marks of finery on him today, Aerynn could have been a Noble or a street urchin, so the importance of reuniting him with the other Reiyne stallion was brushed off by the onlookers. Aerynn felt hope begin to sink, as he whirled around in a circle. There was no trace of what direction Chairi had even gone in. "Help," whimpered the small creature, as his sides heaved with anxious breaths. "Please...someone...anyone...help me." His voice was barely a whisper now, and he felt that no one would be able to hear his plea.
But no matter how he tried, he couldn't get his voice to be any stronger. What was he going to do? And that was when it caught his eye. A flash of scales. Scales? That wasn't uncommon, considering that some hippocampi had scales. But there, reaching towards the sky were the tines of antlers. A Kirin! Just like Ignacio! The thought was there, and suddenly gone just as quick from the child's mind. But the thought of safety that came from his patron god's species remained.
Of course, if he'd known anything of the herd's history - other than small snatches of conversation that made no sense to his baby brain - the boy might have been afraid to run into a Kirin. But he knew nothing of the Wyvern attack, knew nothing of the fear that so many adult Aodhians felt when they regarded a scaled creature. All he knew was that it was something comforting, reminding him of the stained glass windows at Azar, where he often visited. And that meant he felt safe.
Without another thought, the child scampered after the antlers, trying to find their owner. "Excuse me! Excuse me!" Called the foal, his voice revitalized as hope bounced and sprang up within him, like a light rekindled. "Please...can you help me? Please!"

Caron "Now the Fire and Wind guide me to Freedom."
Post 1 | WC 277 The day was much to warm for the dark cloak that Caron typically wore - Indeed, it was a day that such a garment would draw attention, more so than they now did as a base. At least, it would if not for the phoenix nestled in their back, and the fact that Caron was not walking among the masses at the moment, stood off to the side of the street, in an alleyway. They had just concluded one of the many tasks they didn't like doing so much, attempting to scout a new way to get people out, and so they were leaning against the wall, listening to the chatter, and Chiya's soft notes. A moment of rest. A rare thing and… their ear flicked forward, listening. It sounded like a kid had gotten sepperated from their… father? Yes, judging by the calls for 'papa' Caron gave a slight sigh as no-one else seemed to take notice, stepping out into the crowd to go and find the lost child. What they were not expecting, was the child to run up to them, asking for help. Caron couldn't help but give a slight a smile. "Of course I can help. Would you happen to know where your father had been headed? Or where your home may be." They hummed, as Chiya gave an accompanying trill from her perch on their back. Caron honestly found the child's innocent hope refreshing, and mildly amusing. And helping the kid was not without it's benefits to them. Depending on who their parents were, perhaps they could receive a favor for the help? At the very least a few shards for the trouble.

Aerynn || Eminent || Post Two
As the stranger smiled down at Aerynn, he felt a rush of fear draining down from his hooves, as though it were being washed clean by one of Cascade's mighty rainstorms. Of course, he'd been right to trust this creature. While he was aware that something was going on in the world, he had no idea about the Kirin city, or the attacks that had been made on the Aodhian people. Aerynn had only the knowledge that he'd picked up by skulking around the home, listening in when he was supposed to be fast asleep. So, he held none of the fear that many Aodhians pointed towards Kirins, nowadays anyway. The awe of their species had worn off, to all but the youngsters like himself.
"I don't know...that...that's the problem," whispered the foal, his blue eyes wide as he looked around to see if he could find any trace of Chairi. "We were walking together...an' I saw this really pretty bridle...an' an' I looked at it, and then the next thing I knew, he was just gone. I have no idea where he went, and we don't have familiars...so...I can't send one out to look for him," the child explained, his lip beginning to wobble at the thought of not finding Chairi again.
"Please...he's...really dark bay, with white splash kind of like mine, and he's got these really neat see-through white fins on his body, and I just...I wanna go home." The boy was seconds away from wailing now, the fear rising up once more as he thought of the terrible things that might happen, even with the comfort of what looked like his very Patron God walking beside him. He was a child, and his emotions washed over him. They often controlled him, took over everything about him. He was fighting not to let them win, but it was going to be a tight race between emotion and logic.

Caron "Now the Fire and Wind guide me to Freedom."
Post 2 | WC 210 “Ah, the allure of market stalls. It’s quite understandable. You need not fret, okay? I’ll help you find your father. What’s your name?” Caron asked. “Also step close here, it won’t do you much good to become separated from me as well, hm?” they hummed, their tail wrapping around the foal’s body in an act of comfort. “It’ll be okay.” They stated, glancing around the busy market for someone similar to what the foal described. Seeing nothing, they hummed. “So for now, let's head to the Menagerie, it's a candy store near here. You can calm down and think about where your home is, okay? If you can't think of it after a bit, we can head to a sanctum and see if your father is there, or if he came back to look for you." Caron hummed. "And perhaps I can get you a little thing there." They didn't have many shards, but if the owner was there, perhaps they'd get something for free.
Guiding a lost child was not how they expected to spend their afternoon. It was a mild inconvenience, but… well, Caron did not mind it.
Chiya lowered her neck down to the foals ears and sang a few calming notes, while nuzzling the foals ears.

Aerynn | Eminent | Post Three
"A-Aerynn," explained the lost foal, when prompted for his name. He couldn't help but feel all that much safer as the stranger wrapped their tail around him, protecting him from getting lost yet again. "I love the Menagerie!" Explained Aerynn, feeling suddenly hopeful as the phoenix hummed a few soothing notes into his ears, nuzzling the soft, fuzzy appendages to calm him. "M-my dad would probably think to go there...or maybe the sanctum," he explained, nodding in agreement with Caron's plan.
"Erm...thank you," whispered the foal, as they started off together. He wasn't used to being around those who were of a lower social class, but this character seemed to be doing all right for themself, and he was thankful that they were helping him find his way around. Which meant that thanks were due, he supposed. Well, he might as well get it out of the way, show that he had manners and breeding.
"I'm not...I'm not sure which way the Menagerie is, but if you know, we can head that way first," Aerynn suggested, knowing that Caron would probably know the city better than he did, considering he usually saw it from behind Chairi's fins or Valka's tail.

Caron "Now the Fire and Wind guide me to Freedom."
Post 3 | WC 196 Caron gave a small chuckle. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Aerynn." They gave the goal a small smile. "My name is Caron, and my familiar is Chiya." They stated, with the phoenix sounding a bell like chime when her name was stated. "We rather like the Menagerie ourselves as well." They chuckled, though to them that one felt off - How long had it been since they truly enjoyed a sweet? ...Not since they slipped into the tunnels, and certainly not… Caron shook their head a bit at that. They did not need to burden a child with their troubles, especially not a lost child.
They hummed as Aerynn mentioned that his father might look for him at the Menagerie or sanctum, giving a small nod. It made sense, after all. Where else would one escort a lost kid?
When Aerynn uttered his thanks, Caron gave them a small smile. "You needn't thank me, Aerynn." They chuckled. "At the very least, I'm used to going without it. And indeed, I know where the Menagerie is, it's just down this street here." They stated, starting to guide the foal down the street towards the marble fronted building.

Aerynn || Eminent || Post Four
Aerynn's hooves clicked on the stones of the street as he followed Caron and Chiya along. "I've never seen a Phoenix up close before," the small colt whispered, as he stared at the creature, who seemed so good at calming him down. "But then again, I don't see a lot," snorted the foal, stamping a hoof to enunciate his point. He spent most of his time shut up in Reiyne manor, preparing to learn how to become the next Head of Household, now that Graciel had passed the title on to him. But he was just a few months old, and still very much a child. His mind was filled with sweets and dreams of better lives, not of noble duties most of the time. Which was the sort of distracted daydreaming that had gotten him lost in the first place.
"Well, I hope that my dad is there," breathed the colt softly. "I don't want to be late getting home, or my papa will have a fit," he admitted. Usually, the small colt didn't let his home life slip, but he seemed to be comfortable around Chiya and Caron, trusting them both. A moment later, his attention was garnered by the horses moving around them, and he stuck closer to Caron, held tightly in the embrace of their leonine tail. "Do you have a Blessing?" Asked the foal, unprompted, as they walked towards the Menagerie. "I just got one a little while ago...and it was...scary," he admitted. "I don't even know how to use it yet," he admitted softly. "I dunno how I'll learn."

Caron "Now the Fire and Wind guide me to Freedom."
Post 4 | WC 183 Caron chuckled a bit as Aerynn commented about never having seen a phoenix before, and not seeing a lot. "With time comes the sights." They chuckled. "You don't need to rush to see them." They gave a small smile. "I'll try my best to see you home, Aerynn. Don't worry." They hummed, as the foal asked them if they had a blessing. And Caron simply gave a smile at that, as the foal admitted that he found the blessing scary, and didn't know how to use it, or how he'll learn.
"It's.. A matter of practice." Caron hummed. "Indeed, I do have a blessing - two, in fact. You'll have an easier time learning how to use yours, than I did, most certainly though." They chuckled. "For me, it's easy to describe the action of using the blessing, as looking inside yourself, and reaching for it. The Blessing of the gods is an extension of yourself, what they felt most suited you. For myself, I have Electricity Manipulation, and power over illusions." Caron explained, before having their shimmer with sparkles in front of him.

Aerynn || Eminent || Post Five Aerynn couldn't hardly draw his eyes away from Chiya, but he took it to heart what the stranger had said about having time to look at all the sights. He was just a babe, but it felt as though there were a weight pressing down on his small body, with the responsibility of being in charge of the family someday. Of course, both Valka and Chairi were in excellent health, which made it easier, but they'd had him rather...old...and that made him worry.
As Caron went on about their blessings, Aerynn's eyes went wide. He was surprised that the Kirin already had both blessings, but figured that only made them all that much cooler. As the sparkles exploded in the air, he couldn't help but grin. "That's so cool!" Breathed the small horse, his brush of a tail swishing with excitement. "How did you learn to control them so well?" Asked the curious little foal, trotting almost to keep up with Caron's stride.
"And have you ever had to use them to defend yourself? What about just for fun? Is it tiring?" He was filled, bursting almost, with questions for his new friend.

Caron "Now the Fire and Wind guide me to Freedom."
Post 5 | WC 206 "Admittedly, it took me a while to have full mastery over my electricity." Caron hummed, "And even then, the sparks still run with my emotions. As I said, the gods' blessings are tied to our souls." They stated "...Indeed that's what stuck out most, of how Ignacio spoke…" they mused, before continuing "For the illusions, they've simply done as I asked - though I had received the power over them far more recently. But… practice, looking inside and feeling the power you have. When I first received the ability over electricity… well, I never had much opportunity to actually practice, but still I could feel it, beneath my skin, even with the suppressing nature of a slave's bit. As for defending myself, I have used it as a means to keep others away from myself when I got swept up in a riot. For fun?" Caron chuckled, striking a hoof against the pavement, sending sparks skittering. "Quite often. In the beginning, it was rather tiring to use - though it has gotten easier with practice."
Chiya let out a chirp, almost chastising Caron for showing off, though it was half-hearted from the phoenix as she could tell that talking to the child was improving - albeit slightly, Caron's mood.

Aerynn || Eminent || Post Six
Aerynn nodded gravely, seeming to take it to heart what they were saying about how the Blessings were tied to the Gods, and their emotions. It seemed pretty interesting to him that horses could have such control over their blessings; he couldn't even hardly conjure a tiny shadow puppet yet. But maybe, someday, he'd manage it. After all, he had his whole life to figure it out, didn't he? That was a pretty cool thought. He wondered what exactly he'd be good at by the time he was Caron's age. Maybe he'd have both blessings by then? Maybe not...who knew. Maybe he'd be the head of House Reiyne by then, though he didn't want to think it.
Up ahead, the Menagerie was coming into sight. Aerynn couldn't help a little flop of his tail as he saw the store, for outside was standing a very worried looking bay splash hippocampus, his eyes wide as he saw the foal coming forward. He seemed to breathe out a sigh of relief, making his way towards Caron and Aerynn with a great purpose in his stride.
"There's my dad!" Called out Aerynn, beaming up at Caron with bright blue eyes. "Oh, thank you again!" he added, not wanting to run off to his father's arms without giving proper manners a chance. He had been bred to be polite, after all.

Caron "Now the Fire and Wind guide me to Freedom."
Post 6 | WC 211 The sight of Emin Chairi gave Caron a moment's pause - And now they were able to place why Aerynn looked similar to another they had met, especially as Aerynn commented about him being his dad. With a breath, Caron gave a small smile. "Well, I'm glad I was able to help you find him, then. And really, you've no need to thank me." Caron replied, before giving a bow as Chairi approached them, "Greetings Eminent Chairi. I'd ask if you're day has been well, but, I suppose it's been overtaken by worry for your son here." Caron stated, their voice slipping to their practiced honey sweet for him, and masking the downward spiral of their mood with a reminder of who they had been.
...After all, it was not that long ago that Caron had helped the previous heir of House Reiyen to leave the city, in exchange for the news of Shiya's death… and so all thoughts of asking for a favor left their mind. "I suppose I'll be taking my leave now then." They hummed, after they looked back up, their tail curling a bit behind them. "Have a pleasant day." Caron gave Aerynn a small smile, before they went to leave, Chiya chiming a few notes of soothing.
