"I've always believed that Kaia made all of us gems - It's just up to us, how we polish ourselves."
Post 1 | WC: 299 It was sunny. That in itself, was odd enough, at least to Starla. The Black mare hummed as she glanced out the open back door to her workshop, where Enki was stretching her legs, causing her to chuckle a bit. The familiar was, if Starla were to be honest with herself, about the only thing that kept her sane in the current time. If it weren’t for the pups needs… Well, she may have just up and vanished. And that wouldn’t have been good for… well, anyone. Especially not herself. Perhaps she ought to head to that field again… Hey, come to think of it, where even was that field? ...She didn’t recall any like it near any of Kaia’s shrines before all the shenanigans with the Silver Pines started… And well, she was sensible. It would be a fool’s errand to go looking for it now, anyways. She’d be far, far more likely to end up lost than before, even with Enki’s sharp nose. But… It was still a bit regrettable. She was, after all, now having to contemplate buying the jewels she used for her jewelry. She’d have to raise some prices if she started to do that though… Decisions, decisions. She knew a part of it was her own fault. She didn’t have anyone she could turn to for help. And it irked her. But she wouldn’t - She couldn’t ask for help! Goodness no. That just was not her way. She’d figure something out - She always had.
The ringing of the bell hung above the door to her store brought a welcome distraction from her thoughts as Starla turned from the back door and headed through a door frame to stand behind a counter. “Welcome!” She smiled at the newcomer. “How may I help you today?”

That perlino mare hissed to herself as she tore her necklace from the mud, she wore it so often that shed almost forget to take it off some days... today was one of those days and she regretted every second of it. When herding her over zealous herd if cattle she had stupidly got too close and now she was forced to fork up some shards to get her beloved necklace fixed. "Barzul!" she cursed under her breath, already making her way back to the house. A black Smith was out if the question for such delicate work... and she was so very worried about the Firey red gem she had for such a long time. She cleaned herself up quickly and headed off to town, keeping her pace steady, breath puffing heavy from her nostrils. She was lucky she has a small back for the peice of jewelry, if she was being honest the only peices she had were the ones she wore regularly. Those and her Guilded Bridle from Kaia herself. She grinned wide to herself as the jewlers came into view, sighing in tale of she pushed her way through, ducking under the bell as it jingles singling out her entrance. She hummed quietly to herself as she browsed across the shaved but paused when a voice from the counter caught her attention, "Hi Yes! I had accident with my necklace this morning and was wondering if you do repairs?. It's been through alot with me and this kind of repair can't be done by a blacksmith... I hope you can help"

Post 2 | WC 135 “I certainly can do repairs.” Starla hummed with a smile. “Although it does depend a bit on the extent of the damage. May I have a look at the piece?” She asked, nodding her head to the counter in front of her, as she pulled some magnifying glasses out of the workroom behind her to examine whatever it was that the perlino who came in wanted her to repair. “My name’s Starla, by the way. What’s yours?” She asked idly. Mainly because the mare desperately wanted friends - With everything going on around her… She certainly felt alone, that was for certain. But… Random customers shouldn’t be the ones she turned to… Alas, they were all she had. So she made the best of it with the idle comments here and there as she conducted business.

Calleigh cleared her throat as the clerk asked to see the damage, after being torn from her neck and trampled on... to be completely honest it wasn't in the greatest of shapes, it may also have smelled a bit like manure as well. She hoped the mare didn't mind, " Yes, sure. Of course!". Reluctantly she pulled the small satchel off her neck and dropped it on the counter, already preparing herself for the smell she knew so very well. "I did try my best to clean it up as much as possible before I came to you. I can pay extra for the clean... ", she grinned sheepishly as the necklace fell to the glass top counter, spreading tiny dried fragments of dirt grass in bits alongside it "I've never had any trouble like this with it before I swear! One of my cows just got excited and a horn pulled it from my neck. I'm sure it's just the chain that's broken... if the pearls or stone is cracked I don't know what I'll do!". She bit her lip for a long moment, unsure of the reaction she was going to get. She never treated her jewelry this bad, both her horseshoes and anklet were always clean and well looked after, even the bridle Kaia gave her was shined to perfection. "Calleigh. Call me Calleigh! It's nice to meet you... I'm so sorry"

Post 3 | WC 187 Starla gave a small smile as the younger mare bumbled. “It’s alright. I’m not an Aodhian, after all.” She gave a laugh, though to herself it sounded a bit hollow. “And besides, a bit of dirt doesn’t bother me at all.” She said, picking up the necklace in her teke to examine the stones and the pearl. “Hm. The decorations seem fine, but the settings are a bit loose. I’ll tighten them up a bit while I replace the chain.” Starla mumbled as she examined the necklace, humming a bit. “You’ve really no need to apologize to me. I’ve had other customers drag in far, far more dirt than this, after all. And on top of that, Enki doesn’t care whether or not her paws are muddy or clean when she comes in.” She gave a small chuckle, when almost on cue, the Wolfhound came trotting in with a happy bark, her paws a bit muddy from running around outside. “See?” She smiled. “So, Calleigh, would you want the same sort of chain, or perhaps something a bit stronger, in case something similar happens in the future?”

Calleigh chuckled nervously, it wasn't just dirt that was stuck to that chain of hers. "Even if dirt doesn't bother you... I'm sure the smell of cow pies would". She grinned sheepishly, pulling her ears back as she tapped the toe of one of her back hooves. The young mare smiled warmly as the mares dog tracked dirt all the way up to her, she offered the canine afew scratches and a gentle pat with her teke before she returned to attention on the task at hand, "That chain is special and has been through alot, I would prefer if you could repair it for me? It's been with me since I was younger... it... it was actually made by my step mother. She passed away some time ago"Calleigh smiled warmly at the dark mare, she was grateful her necklace had some hope of repair honestly. She had thought that was the end of her poor necklace but luckily enough the for her it was reparable. "Thankyou for the offer of a stronger chain but like I said it means more to me as it stands, I can just take it off from now on when working with my cows. They get excited sometimes so I didn't think"

Post 4| WC 92 Starla snorted as Calleigh seemed concerned at what might be caking the piece as she started to clean it. “Hun, I may be a merchant in the jewelry trade, but I’m War Forged. I’ve smelled worse than that in the taverns when the Raiders are in town. So don’t you worry about that.” She offered a small smile. “I can certainly keep as much of the original chain as possible, but in the event that some of the links did get lost, do you know what size of a necklace it is?”
