MINE TO REMEMBER
Early evening at the lake of Osulas, autumn 1701 Arrietta has wholeheartedly began to embrace her new role as a Creator. As requested, this evening she is to perform again in honor of Alya, as well as her new shrine at the lakeside.
As the sun begins to set, the soulful performance draws to a close too, and the audience begins to disperse - expect for one familiar face.

ARRIETTA Arrietta stopped in her tracks, an airy laughter escaping her mouth as she put down her wooden flute. She felt utterly exhausted, but the cheerful atmosphere picked her up quick. A cool desert wind that had begun to blow from the west and the mare moved a few stray strands of hair behind her ear and turned to look at her herd mates. It was getting late. Yet, the crowd that had gathered to rejoice with her showed no signs of leaving. Instead, lively conversations had begun sprouting around her and without wasting her chance to step aside, Arias slipped to the crowd, exchanging quick greetings and smiles with those she passed by. Now outside of the center of the group, she sighed as she sat down for a moment, merely taking in the view before her. The nearby shrine tempted her, calling with its peculiar beauty, but it wasn't what caught her eyes. A shimmering pair of horns drew her gaze in and a curious smile spread slowly on her face. There weren't many Advocates who had left an impression during her auditioning, but the fair-headed mare was certainly one of them. Adelaide, or at least she thinks it was the unicorn's name. Without much hesitation Arias waved her flute at them, trying to catch their attention: "Hey there!"

Weary legs had brought Adelaide alongside the brand new lake – the day’s last fires burnt on it, sky mirrored by still waters. Golden eyes lingered on the spectacle of Osulas’ resurrected beauty. She sighed deeply, knowing it would be her task to allow the city to shine again. Windy notes made her ears twitch, gentle as a caress. She knew that sound – she had heard this instrument once upon a dream. She turned her head abruptly, soon witnessing the artist that was the source of it. A small gathering surrounded them, hiding them away from her sight. Quietly, she joined the crowd, trying to remain unnoticed as she stayed behind. There was Arrietta, somehow Adelaide never forgot her name, entrancing the crowd around her with her intoxicating joy. The unicorn’s own eyes glimmered as the song wrapped around her heart – but she found herself starstruck when she finally caught sight of her. The dark mare was still the same, loveable figure, but her pelt was now adorned in intricate ornaments which could only leave the former Advocate admirative. The artist who created the gorgeous, golden embroidery that covered Arietta’s back showed great mastery – and mostly this made the mare’s natural beauty shine greater. Her eyes lingered on the mare’s dainty frame, eyes never leaving her once. Their eyes met once – she could have sworn she saw her smile. The music stopped and Adelaide immediately drifting away, unwilling to take part in the conversations that were sparked then. She found herself surprised however when a familiar voice caught her attention, before she noticed the gesture. She walked slowly towards the Creator, dipping her head politely. “Wind beneath your wings, Arrietta. Being a Creator suits you well.” She greets, voice low and quiet. There was something so spontaneous about the mare Adelaide enjoyed, she could barely hold back a smile.

ARRIETTA "Wind beneath yours as well", Arrietta replied with a smile as he stood up to properly greet the unicorn; she was perhaps tired, but not that tired. She was about to continue, but the unexpected praise caught her by a surprise. Her soft smile widening, Arias merely nodded in agreement, glancing at her flute - still firmly held in her teke's grasp - before turning to look at Adelaide again. The fact that the unicorn seemed to recall her name as well completely flew over her head though, as she hurried to carry on the conversation now that she had the colorful mare's attention. "You flatter me, Advocate Adelaide... Was it not? You seem well", Arrietta hummed and stepped closer, seemingly unbothered by their height difference as she offered her cheek to them for a warmer greeting. "I was in luck. It's not every day that the Sky Mother is feeling playful enough to join my song with her whistling winds."

You were one of the lasts Creators I had the privilege to audition.” She explains, a hint of melancholy tinting her eyes. “Those tattoos look stunning on you, could that be Saratia’s work? I would recognize that style anywhere.” She asks politely, eyes following the swirls covering the mare’s pelt. “The Sky Mother has been more than generous lately. Your song must have pleased her – I could tell. I was in fact headed to the new shrine, if you would care to join me.” She gestures towards the round portal – framing the lake like a mirror. She could hear already the windchimes’ ringing and rustling.

ARRIETTA Arrietta raised her brows at Adelaide's peculiar words. "What?" She mumbled softly under her breath, clearly puzzled by the mare's statement, but her questions would have to wait for later. Glancing from her tattoos back to Adelaide, only to immediately look away again at the mention of the still singing shrine, she nodded absentmindedly, though pleased in Saratia's place. As the unicorn continued to praise Alya's merciful mood though, Arias could feel an amused smile tug at the corners of her mouth. "Hm? Perhaps she liked them too then. My tattoos, I mean", the Creator chuckled back. "But I'd love to! After all, it would reflect on me rather poorly if I were to leave without visiting it, don't you think? ... Oh, hold on." She suddenly murmured and reached behind the rock she had been resting on, soon bringing her dusty saddlebags in the view. Still smiling at Adelaide she started slowly walking towards the portal while fumbling with one of the bags' straps. The wind kept tangling up her long hair, but she barely paid attention to it anymore. "What do you mean though that you are no longer an Advocate? I didn't take your sort for quitters", she asked, curiously looking at the unicorn over her shoulder.

Adelaide smiled as her eyes followed the waving or Arrietta’s hair, as Alya’s winds gently played with them. The dark mare truly fit right in Serora– it seemed as though the Sky Mother loved her. She did look good in the wind. “I’m certain She did.” Adelaide couldn’t refrain a chuckle at the mare’s surprise. “I did not quit. I was promoted.” She starts, letting her words linger. She enjoyed a little suspense, and she enjoyed even more seeing Arrietta’s impatience building up. “Starting tomorrow, I am to assist our Sultan by governing alongside him as his Councillor.” She finally conceded, lips unable to hold back a smile. She was overjoyed by the news, despite being a little scared. She originally came to visit the shrine in order to thank Alya and get her blessing, possibly her guidance. A new chapter in her life was just dawning. On those words, the two mares reached the portal shaped shrine. Admirative, Adelaide remained quiet for a moment.

ARRIETTA Arrietta stopped underneath the portal to wait for Adelaide. Its red, stony sides radiated the evening sun's warmth still, and the ghost of a smile on her face widened at the unicorn's reply. The Creator kept her silence though, merely staring at her new companion for a few seconds before turning to look at the view that had opened before the two of them. It was beautiful, truly, but she could feel herself grow restless. Arias' ears twitched slightly at the gentle chiming above them; it seemed like the wind rejoiced for Adelaide too. A moment passed and after finding herself glancing at Adelaide again and again, the Creator finally mused with sincerity in her voice: "You'll do great, I'm sure. Congratulations, Councillor." Surely Alya wouldn't mind them chatting even within her embrace, right? Pushing hair off of her face again, Arrietta added with a more lighthearted tone: "Say, what do you think of the new Sultan then? Quite amazing really to see someone like me get into that position." There was a pause, and a nervous laughter broke the softness of her tone: "N-not that I'm akin to a Sultan in any way. I'll gladly play and sing like I've always done."

Adelaide closed her eyes, serene smile floating on her lips as she felt Alya’s warm embrace brush against her coat. Arria’s piping voice lulled her gently as she breathed slowly. “Thank you kindly, Arrietta.” She murmured. She opened an amused eye as she witness the dark mare fidgeting around her, embarrassed by her own curiosity. A rush of tenderness stretched the smile on her lips as Arrietta’s voice begged for validation. The unicorn’s eyes got lost in “I think he is exactly what Serora needs, which is why I voted for him and pledged to serve him. People like the Sultan and yourself are what our herd needs to grow into a better version of itself.” Her eyes drifted towards the shorter mare, an amused glimmer dancing in her eyes. “Despite, I really like your songs. Serora would be missing out if you had never come. "
