You have a home in me Tumbleweed, Danaë and Lucie [NPC] Tae-bun and Lebazardesmondes
Late morning in Osulas- a bright blue sky and light breeze.
*** Recently, Alizeh recognized Tumbleweed as their grandchild - the lost soon to their daughter Valeera. The reunion didn't go as smoothly as expected and Tumbleweed is overwhelmed, when Lucie and Danaë stumble on him by chance. Danaë worries about the young equine she now recognizes as her cousin and hopes to help him.

D A N A Ë"Of fire and gold."
Osulas was once again the beating heart of Sedo. Dancing to its rhythm, Danaë had settled right back into the capital, weary but thankful to see this place she had called home all her life rise from its ashes. Her tired legs dragged her at a mellow pace along the shore of the new lake – struggling to catch up with her ecstatic daughter who was witnessing Alya’s work for the first time. The mare barely had the time to recover from her mission – Vesta and Lucie had arrived the next day, and the little filly could not wait for her mother to show her around. There were few things Danaë could say no to – and indulging in her daughter’s budding curiosity certainly wasn’t one. Lucie pranced by her side, marvelling about the lake – how beautiful and shiny it was. It was like a mirror to Alya’s sky, she noticed. “If you look by the right angle, it feels like the sky never ends.” Danaë’s eyes glittered with pride as she watched her thoughtful little girl muse about the change. An ear turned towards her, she could hear her childlike voice babble excitedly, as she encouraged her to go faster. “ Come on Mom! I want to see where Essie is building her shrine!” Danaë huffed, her bells ringing lightly as a breeze blew through them, amused eyes teasing the filly. Lucie soon forgot about her frustration however, as something else caught her attention. “ Tumble!” she called, upon witnessing the young stallion walking nearby. The filly leaped towards him, greeting him warmly. Danaë’s head rose in surprise – she had heard of what happened recently through Grandwa. She knew that, through Tumbleweed, her family had just gotten bigger. She also knew the teenager felt overwhelmed by the situation and ran away. She walked calmly towards him, as to not make him uncomfortable. “ Wind beneath your wings.” She signed, smiling warmly. “ How have you been?” – a question that came from genuine concern.

Tumble | 16 | Windracer
Everyday went by slowly and the young windracer only felt more sluggish by the day. He was never good at tackling his emotions. It was why he kept himself as optimistic as he could, but lately that’d been getting more difficult. He didn’t cope well with the wave of changes that the war with Aodh had brought with it. Their little expedition into the forgotten Serora city of Alhaj weeks ago had unlocked secrets he wishes he never knew. When he returned home his first hope was that it would bring him some relief, make him feel safe and secure again. But he came face to face with someone he never thought he’d see again - someone he thought had been dead all his life. His mother. He ran and hasn’t felt right since. So here he was back in Osulas where he grew up. His bird companion kept close to him, searching the sand for insects while Tumble’s jumbled mind wanders. It was the familiar ring of a familiar voice, young and chipper and forced his head to turn, following the direction his ear flicked towards. His sky blue eyes that were often so bright had dimmed, but that familiar sparked returned for a moment when he recognized the little unicorn. “Lucie…” Tumble forced a smile onto his face as she bounded up to him, greeting her affectionately by pressing his nose to her forehead, being careful to avoid her small horn. Although he knew Danae couldn’t have been far behind he was hesitant when he lifted his head from the filly to look up at his friend - cousin now, he supposed. Their familial similarities made perfect sense to him now that he knew. For all of his life Tumble thought he himself was the only family he had left. But now it was revealed to him that he was part of a large family - something he couldn’t have even begun to imagine. Tumble returned her smile, signing the same greeting in return but he paused before answering her question. I’ve been better, he finally signed after a few moments.

Lucie was a compass to the pure of heart – only ever approached by those who loved her genuinely, only seeking those that deserved to be trusted. Tumbleweed had turned out to be one of them long ago. Lucie did not know yet of their familial connection, not that it mattered. The young stallion had always been a benevolent figure she loved being around, someone Danaë trusted enough to leave him in charge of Lucie and Virgil. The young mother felt blessed to be able to count him as a part of her family – although she wouldn’t if he did not want her to. He clearly was troubled by the situation, understandably so. As the little filly excitedly babbled, Danaë got closer, empathetic eyes looking deep into the clouded skies that had become Tumbleweed’s eyes. “I can tell. I’m very sorry for what happened. You must feel so lost.” She signed, bells almost silent as her gentle gestures were making a confidence to the colt. “I wish we had known earlier… Although now that we know, it felt like it always was always right under our noses.” She adds, a tender spark fluttering in her eyes as she watches the colt. “I know this must be a lot… But I need you to know that I’m still your friend no matter what. If you need to talk about it, my door is always open.”
Her bells rang lightly, notes scattering in the wind like a whisper. She nuzzled him softly before taking a step back, giving him some space. Lucie seemed to have taken an interest in the bird Familiar, eagerly trotting towards it, unable to conceive that the creature would most likely fear her.

Tumble | 16 | Windracer
Tumble can’t help but feel somewhat reassured by her words. He had always thought Danae to be a comforting presence, even before he knew that they were family - blood family.
It’s ironic, right? He signs, his eyes sad but soft despite the smile on his muzzle. He relaxes at her nuzzle, returning her gesture by pressing his head to the side of her neck, nestling his cheek against her mane of thick curls. The young stallion sighs quietly, almost inaudibly if it weren’t obvious in the slumped of his shoulders. When he steps back he puts the same small smile back onto his face.
Danae, I don’t know how to feel. Finally the neutral expression on his face almost breaks, his smile breaking as his ears pressed back against his blonde mane. I saw her and I panicked. His gestures quickened and almost appeared frantic, but Tumble held back his words, only moving his lips and determined to sign to spare Lucie of troubles that were yet beyond her young years. I’ve been living my life thinking that I was an orphan. But everyone’s been around me this whole time. How could I not have noticed? Anger was never something that was seen on his face, it didn’t suit him. He was frustrated and hurt.
Almost as if the little bird sensed his companion’s mood, Bek assumed, begrudging, that it’d be helpful if he provided distraction for the filly. The roadrunner squawked in surprise, not expecting Lucie to have gotten so close so quickly but hopped around her legs nonetheless before continuing his little search for insects by digging and kicking away sand.

Wrapping her neck around his, she pushed him closer as he reached for her contact. She remained steady as he stepped back, her eyes following each of his words carefully. She can feel his anger, his frustration and his pain. She shares it, too. She wishes she had known. “I’m the adult here. I should have noticed; this is not your fault. How could you know? We were the ones blinded by our own grief.” Shame painted her face in pain as she looked deep into the colt’s eyes. “ We were so focused on the ones we lost that we were blind to those who remained. You were so close all this time – yet we were grieving you, too. My dad had just passed, Aunt Val almost did too and returned completely broken thinking that you had been taken away from her forever. We were mourning you before we even got to know you – believe me when I say we missed you. Your mother missed you so terribly. I think you missed her too.”
Bells rang solemnly as she danced emphatically, body swayed by the emotions she was trying to control, eyes shining as her heart wailed. “I’m so sorry you grew up alone. I’m sorry we didn’t find you earlier. But Tumble… If you can ever find it in your heart to forgive us, you will never have to be ever again. I’ll be there for you no matter what.”
She drew closer, as glittering teke gently pushed Tumbleweed’s hair away from his forehead, so she could gaze into his eyes. “The one who needs you more than anyone else is your mother and she’d do anything for you to return to her. I cannot imagine what she had been through – but I would rather die than being separated from my child. But I understand you need time to process things.”
Lucie was still distracted by the bird – observing it with childlike fascination, suddenly too intimidated to get any closer.

Tumble | 16 | Windracer
He doesn’t miss a beat as his eyes focus on her every move and gesture. His long ears still lay softly against his head but his expression softened, taking her every word to heart. It’s what came naturally to him after all. Tumble smiles. Although there is still a hint of sadness that lingers in the way his bottom lip trembles slightly, he smiles. He knows he doesn’t have it in him to be angry, especially not at them. It was hard to feel truly alone in Serora. He was never alone, at least in the physical sense. But there had always been something that was missing, so many memories he wasn’t able to remember. A single tear escaped the corner of his eye and that was enough to release the floodgate of emotions that he had been trying so hard to hold back. Even though he preferred to keep his unruly bangs well over his face to hide the deep scar that was slashed through his pale forehead, he made no move to shy away when Danae moved his hair aside. In his heart break Tumble found his voice again, sniffling as he looked up into blue eyes that were so similar to his own. “There isn’t anything to forgive,” he spoke softly, sniffling and willing his tears back. “I’ve spent so long missing all of you.” Tumble takes in a breath, calming his shaken nerves. “There’s still a lot that I don’t - can’t remember. But I knew that I've missed you all this time, even if I didn’t think any of you were still out there. I knew something was missing.” The young windracer fell silent for a small moment, casting his eyes down to the sand beneath them as his body relaxed and his ears twitched before flicking forward. He let peace wash over him, allowing Alya’s warm breeze to sweep over his back. Tumble turned his head, letting his eyes wander away for a minute. The tinkling sound of wooden chimes reached his ears, followed by a series of splashing water near the shores of the lake that was now Osulas. Serora may be changing but this was and will always be his home. “Tomorrow.” He looked back at Danae, most of his tears already dried due to the warm sun of the approaching afternoon. “I’ll go back and see her. My mom.” Tumble turned his head to find where Lucie had gone and upon seeing her with his familiar his gaze grew fond. “But, for today, could I spend it with you and Lucie?” His smile was bright at the suggestion. “If you’re not doing anything, Danae. I still have a lot to see after what happened here. Was it really Alya that did all of this?” He gestures to the lake beside them with a toss of his chin.

Danaë beamed as Tumble offered they spent some time together, smiling brightly as she affectionately nuzzled the colt one more time before stepping away. She wouldn’t bother him about the situation anymore – he had taken his decision. “Of course you can, I was about to offer.” She says, bells ringing merrily to her now lighter dance. She was proud of him – seeing him going from rock bottom to find new determination so quickly, she felt humbled before the colt’s heart of gold. “Lucie as actually giving me a tour, we were about to visit the location where a friend of mine is about to build her first shrine. I was not there when Alya and Cascade did this… But you wouldn’t believe what happened. I’m pleased about the change though. It is so nice to see Osulas living again.” Her gaze turned towards the cerulean waters as she smiled, serene. While they spoke, Lucie was busy following Bek around. Imitating the bird from a distance, her little hooves searched the ground – thinking the animal might bee seeking some kind of treasure. As she dug, a large cockroach crawled out of the ground and scurried away, causing the filly to yelp as she leaped away, running in panic towards her mother who could barely hold a peal of laughter.

Tumble | 16 | Windracer
The topic of Osulas, their beloved capital, brought a new feeling of warmth in the boy’s chest. He remembered six months ago when the city was evacuated before it was destroyed, nothing but an empty crater left where their thriving community used to call home. Tumble had thought he would never see it beautiful again, but now here they were. His eyes followed the direction of Danae’s, casting his gaze over the large expanse of water. Sedo was changing, as was Serora itself and now Tumble was beginning to see those changes in a new light - not with fear, but with appreciation and a new found hope.
“So we’ve got the best tour guide with us.” Tumble commented warmly. He watched his familiar sifting through the sand as always, but this time the bird had some extra and unexpected help. Although the large insect frightened the filly, Bek on the other hand, was more than pleased as he darted after it. The roadrunner made a quick meal of the roach before continuing his seemingly endless search for more.
Tumble laughed as he shook his head. “I’m sorry Lu,” he spoke softly towards Lucie, smiling. “He’s like this every morning. Birds love bugs you know. I think he might like you more now that you helped him.”

The filly remained shaken as she found refuge between her mother and the colt, wary eyes watching the roadrunner as she remained thoughtful.
“So long as he likes me… I think I can forgive him.” she says, squinting towards the animal.
“Come on Luce, it’s alright. Why don’t you show us to Essie’s future shrine?” signs Danaë, gently, eyes still filled with laughter. The filly nodded as she leaped ahead of them, babbling excitedly as she pointed towards a red rock formation – an arch that towered over the lake.
“When did you arrive here, have you been alright? I heard you were on a mission too.” The mare signed, genuinely curious – and concerned. Aside from his emotional state, Tumble definitely looked tired – she could sense these things.

Tumble | 16 | Windracer
The young stallion’s eyes, full of fondness and amusement, followed the filly as she bounded on ahead of them. His roadrunner companion hurrying after her, close behind her heels. Tumble sees the shrine that his cousin mentions, brows lifting as he takes in the sight of it the closer they draw near. It was bigger than what he had imagined when Danae mentioned it to him. But perhaps it was it’s towering size that struck him with awe. Esin really tackled such a task - an honorable one at that. The thought of their beloved goddess, their sky mother who Tumble has always kept close to his heart, for once brought a heavy weight on his conscience. It was hard for him to view Serora, his home and his peace loving people in the same light that he used to.
“I came back not that long ago.” His blue eyes settled back on Danae, his troubled expression softening. “I’m… okay.” There was a fair amount of hesitation before he answered. Tumble’s gaze moved to focus ahead of them as he drew in a deep breath and sighed gently. “I just feel, complicated, that’s all.” A small, sad smile pulled on the corners of his lips. “Serora can’t go back to the way it was. I don’t know if that’s good or bad, at least, maybe not yet. But Danae,” his ears twitched as a breeze tugged at his braids. “There are things that I know now that a part of me wishes I didn’t.”

“We’ve reached a point of no return for sure… But if we all stick together, we’ll be fine. Serora’s heart and soul is within us, not within an outdated way of life. Pas events can’t change who we have become as a community. Things are going to change, but change brought us together didn’t it?”
Her bells rang lightly as her fond eyes searched Tumble’s blue irises, shaken by the sheer pain she could see inside of them. She had only heard rumors, but had no idea what happened in Alhaj.
“I don't know what you saw, Tumble. I only heard things. It feels like we have all witnessed… Worrying things at the same time. If you want to tell me about it, I will gladly listen. You don’t have to carry that burden alone.”
Part of her was curious, part of her was genuinely worried. But she had to be the bigger person here – for Tumbleweed. He needed adults he could trust around him more than ever, and she promised herself she would be exactly that to him.
