Ryika;Breim | WardenFight For what you Truly see As Yours
As she heard the recent and tragic news of the passing of her dear cousin Haruka she felt alone again, she didn't understand how it happened or why she just knew right now she just felt like she could lay down with him. Her heart was sore and broken and never has she felt like this in her life, her family was falling apart her parents passed away, her brother went missing and now her dearest cousin passed and is in the heavens with the rest of the family that passed on. She felt like the Gods was upset with her taking away the one's she cares about the most she felt like she had nobody left almost all her family was gone or far away she felt like it was just time for her to walk and pray to the Gods and ask them why, her Mentor was busy at this time training others so she really couldn't go to him either way.
As she walked down a path and was thinking to herself she realized she was near the shrine of Argus so she figured that would be a great place for her to go and pray, and maybe even find the answers that she was seeking Ryika felt like she needed Answers she felt so alone and felt like she just couldn't talk to anyone that didn't understand how she felt and not many would even care. They just seen her as a Warden and should do her job and protect everyone which she does her best at it but right now how her felt she doesn't even know if she would do her job right either, she felt like she left herself and her family down Haruka was always the one she went to and was the one she always talked to and was comforted by when she left her worse and now he's not here to comfort her once again and she just wished she could talk to him one last time.
"Oh Haru what do I do? Why did you have to go away?" She just felt so torn and just in many ways still didn't understand why and if this hurt would ever go away, she just wanted to join him but knew that's not what he wanted she was tempted to seek out her other cousin but he was far and her family wouldn't want her even close to him. She was even forbidden to even go near him since he was a Vagabond something he was banished out of the family for she felt maybe coming to the shrine will help guide her down the right path as she really needed the guidance, she felt if she didn't get it now then she would probably go down the wrong path and that just isn't what she wanted she tried so hard to get where she was today.

Gemstone had been in the middle of her own prayers.
She generally came to the shrine every day, the time varied depending on her grandmother's consciousness but was usually almost always later in the day. She had always been devout, but now she might as well just call herself a priestess with how often she went. Every day she had come since the guardian statuettes on display reverted back to their original forms, ever since they had protected her and a hoof-full of others who happened to be within the shrine the day Nariah's ceiling collapsed. She prayed, thanking Argus for protecting her. She prayed, begging Argus to heal her grandmother who was not so lucky in the cave in. Not even her blessing could really help her grandmother, except give her peace of mind about their already passed on family.
Gemstone had yet to really use her blessing, except to speak to Chime, her Arcane Spirit familiar, who had bonded to her in this very temple. It was nice being able to converse with all of her familiars, all three of them. She was hardly lonely with the two Devil Birds pressing upon her back with their talons and the Arcane Spirit floating at her side. It made everything easier.
Easier than many other horses lives.
Although already adept at her blessing, she had no actual need to use it just yet. It would be surprising to her when, on this very evening, she would find the blessing incredibly useful.
She had strode up to the temple as she always did, smiling as she thought about the time she would be spending with her God, whom she had been visited by twice now. She went and visited the koi pond as she always had and would, observing the glittering fish under the undulating ripples of the water before she would head inside to find a less crowded prayer room; she liked having a mat to herself and an incense bowl to look into.
But she didn't exactly get that far. Instead, she heard a horse muttering to themselves as she passed by, words that struck her like a lightning bolt. She didn't need anyone to tell her, she had the idea; someone went 'away', and this horse was in a temple. Surely someone had passed on.
She didn't really know what made her do it. She couldn't really leave anything well enough alone. But she was a helpful child, and a horse in need, in the temple even, probably needed someone to talk to. Even if she were just a child.
"Uhm...excuse me..." Gemstone spoke softly, low enough to respect everyone else in the hallway.

Ryika;Breim | WardenFight For what you Truly see As Yours
Ryika not realizing she wasn't alone at the Shrine as she mumbled to herself this was the first time she didn't understand something like this but she knew she couldn't lope around like this all the time, it was just to hard for her right now she never felt this alone before and just couldn't accept it as if her brain and heart was telling her not to. As she approached the shrine she just stood there staring off just questioning herself and everything around her what snapped her out of her daze was she heard someone else's voice and looked up and looked around, she then spotted someone else in the shrine and realized she wasn't alone there.
"Oh Sorry I didn't mean to bother you in any way I didn't know someone else was here." She felt kind of embarrassed knowing now someone heard her talking to herself and now they probably thought she was crazy or something, she didn't know if she should explain herself or not but she didn't want others to think she was going crazy either because she wasn't she was just in pain and was wondering a lot of things. "I Hope I wasn't disturbing you or anything I didn't mean to if I did." She was always the type to feel bad if she Disturbed someone in a way she was hoping to find something here to help her even if the words wasn't from the Gods themselves she just needed Comfort more than anything at this time, she wish she still had her parents to go to but she didn't not anymore she really had nobody left after Haruka Passed on.
"I tend to come here but not often enough it seems, I just need Answers or at least the comfort just don't feel the same anymore." At this point she really felt running to the Vagabond territory and seeking her cousin out, but she did't know if it was even possible if he was even still alive that is what if he left her to and she just didn't hear anything about it. It wouldn't surprise her any as they didn't stay in contact with that side of the family after they left from here but he was born there so she never actually met him, let alone knew what he looked like so either way she wouldn't be able to find him but she also felt she would know him once she saw him but that was just things in her head that she needed to let go and Ignore.

Gemstone had a thoughtful look on her face as the mare turned around and noticed her. The poor mare looked so distraught, if not lost. The child wondered if she had that same, haunted look in her eyes when she was questioning herself after her parent's deaths. As strong as Alba had been for Gemstone, the little girl realized that the death of her grandmother's daughter likely took a toll on the old donkey. Filing those thoughts away for later, the little zonkey filly took a few steps closer, her birds looking around her neck at the mare, Chime hovering just behind her left ear.
"You're not bothering me, or anyone else for that matter." Gemstone hardly thought the mare was crazy, and she had seen some pretty crazy things in her short life. Death was not new to her, and death had come for many horses, and many families especially during the collapse of Nariah. "Really, you're not bothering anyone at all. Actually, I think you've come to the right place." The girl said matter-of-factly, holding her head up high confidently, assuredly. "This Shrine is where I come all the time to seek comfort when I need it. Argus is always watching, always listening." The blessing Argus had bestowed upon her felt warm like an embrace over her heart, over her mind.
"I think I know how you feel." Then she shook her head. "No, I know for sure how you feel. I've lost members of my family too." Emerald eyes flickered over to Chime as he entered her field of vision, smoky arcane tendrils billowing about his back like wings and what Gemstone assumed was a tail of sorts. She had lost most of her grandparents when she was much younger, and she lost her parents a couple of years ago. Her green eyes focused on the mare again. "I might be able to help if you want me to." She drew one of her forelegs up to her chest, feeling her heart thump against the pastern. This is what Argus had meant for her to do. "My name is Gemstone, by the way." At the mention of her name, she went for a more formal greeting, the usual Bremian bow for those of higher rank, assured that the mare before her was of greater social standing.

Ryika;Breim | WardenFight For what you Truly see As Yours
Ryika felt slightly at ease as someone else knew what she was going threw she knew a lot of other Equine has lost their families to at some point in their lives but she never even thought she would loose her family this soon, it was the hardest feeling for her knowing she would never see or hear from them again. Which in a way made her want to seek out the only family members she had left even if they was bad she didn't have much family left after everything, "It's the hardest thing I've felt my whole life and as a Warden I've seen the most Gruesome things but yet this just sticks with me." She knew this would be a good place to go and hopefully help her release the pain that is on her chest, she felt she needed to find her brother as far as she knew he was just missing. "Half of my family has passed on and the one that got me the most is my Dear cousin Haruka, my Brother is missing yet to be found, It feels like I did something wrong and that's why my family is slowly shrinking, so I felt if I came here maybe I could find Answers or at least get some relief of the pain I'm feeling."
"My Name is Ryika by the way It's really nice to meet you Gemstone, I use to come here before I became a Warden as I always had the time, today just felt like I needed to be here." She felt as if she could talk more about it maybe it will help her and let her family live at peace on wherever they are, but now she felt like she had a long journey ahead of her and felt as she needed to hunt down the last of her remaining family and bring them home. Slightly leaning against something she just felt the biggest need to just sit down for once, "I Know others loose family all the time and it never gets easy and I feel no better than them, mine just felt one after another after another, my parents passed away then not even weeks later I loose my cousin and then right after my brother goes missing. So I felt like I must have upset someone to loose them all in not even weeks apart from each other it was all sudden and didn't even have to or get the chance to say good-bye to them." She wanted to find peace in her mind and move on but it was just one big thing after another and she had nobody to lean on, as all her family that was close is gone and she only knew one place to go to and that was the Shrine and all she knew was to pray and pray hard and maybe one day she will get the Answers she was looking for.
In a weird kind of way Ryika felt that Gemstone could help her and maybe after today she will have the comfort that she needed, she needed someone to talk to for a long time but never got the chance and today it was just the right day to run into Gemstone.

Gemstones long, wide ears folded slightly against the back of her head. A Warden, huh? Gemstone wasn't entirely sure what a Warden would see that was gruesome, but she realized she didn't exactly want to know. At least not right now. Maybe in time, after she and Yoru planned to meet up together. On the other hoof, Gemstone knew well that losing ones family was indeed one of the hardest things anyone would have to go through. It took her grandmother and her faith in Argus to snap her out of it when she had lost her parents. But she was also young, malleable. She might have lost them, but she had gained so many more that she cared about just as deeply.
The child listened intently as the mare spoke about her losses. A missing brother and a passed on close cousin. Gemstone couldn't really imagine losing so much, even though she had actually already had gone through it. The mare introduced herself, and Gemstone nodded her head, intent on remembering the name. Talking it out seemed to help the mare. It was quite therapeutic just getting things off your chest. Gemstone remembered having to write about her worries if her grandmother was busy taking care of the inn.
Soon enough, the mare had stopped trying to justify how she felt. The filly knew that there was no need to justify it, everyone had a right to mourn, to think about everything.
"I'm really sorry for your losses..." The girl replied, dipping her head softly. "...But there might be a way to say goodbye to them after all. If that is what you want, of course." Gemstone didn't want it to seem like she was urging Ryika to potentially speak to her dead relatives, so she left it open to the mare if she really wanted to do it. "You don't have to decide right now, either," the girl added, "if you need more time to think about it, I'm almost always here in the afternoons if you would prefer to seek Argus' counsel today instead." Gemstone also didn't want to get Ryika's hopes up about actually contacting Argus. Gemstone had gotten lucky with her own prayer some time ago.

Ryika;Breim | WardenFight For what you Truly see As Yours
As she listened she thought to herself and was thinking there is a another way to say good-bye and she never even thought of it but her emotions clouded her thoughts, so how could she remember that some other Equine could do it. "I would love to actually be able to say good-bye one last time." That would be the best thing she could think of doing right now is being able to say it one more time and maybe it would make her feel better and at ease she at this point feels Grateful and very Appreciated to Gemstone, she never thought someone would be willing to help her contact her family one last time and she hopes one day she to can help Gemstone in some way possible. "I feel If I can tell them Good-bye one more time It will help me feel relief and comfort that I did get to say it and that they know I miss them." She knew it wouldn't be much but it was something to start her healing she wants to one day become more devoted to the Gods and connect with them like how her mother did when she was still here, she knew that would be one thing she really could do that would make her parents proud she always wanted to but then she got on as a Warden and was busy but her time has loosened up.
"I'm sorry for your losses as well, I know everyone goes through it eventually I just wish there was a way to prevent it, the things pain causes others to do some go mad and others just lost. I watched one my dearest friends go deep down under after to many losses in their family and they wasn't the same again it's hard seeing others go through it and never realize it will happen to you one day you." Even as a Warden Ryika wishes to cover and heal her pain so she could help others, that's all she's ever wanted to do is help others in any way that she could she didn't want them to live in fear she wanted them to be happy, she wanted them to feel free and live normal lives and not be scared of any possible attacks. She would throw her life on the line if it was to make someone feel safe and to get to see their families another day, since the day she was born she wanted to be devoted to Argus and she also wanted to protect everyone here.
"When I first became a Warden I honestly felt like I could do more, there not much I can do to protect everyone here and I want to be so much more Haruka made me want to better everything, I want to help others and I want them to feel safe and not to fear like most do. I feel like I'm not letting them down cause now I can't even figure out my own problems, I always put others before myself it always makes me happy I hope one day I can help you in return." Ryika has always been the type to put everyone first before herself, but lately the pain of her losses has caught up with her and she feels she's unable to help anyone until she can help herself and that's why she came to the shrine hoping something can help her so she can continue to help everyone else around her and she just wanted to be happy again.

Gemstone smiles, though there was some pain lingering in her agate eyes. It would have done her some good to say goodbye to her parents a couple of years ago, especially since her grandmother refused to let her look at their crushed bodies, for good reason of course; a child should never have to look upon their parents in such a way. It was better that she had never seen them, thought imagination was enough to give the child a good idea of how they might have looked... After all, the same thing had happened to hundreds of horses in Nariah, a supposedly safe location and not mines that constantly posed danger.
Gemstone didn't really intend to be paid back for something like this. In her mind, it was her duty as a Bremian, and mostly, as a child of Argus. She could imagine her God watching her with pride; it gave her solace, and the sadness dissipated from her sight. She was sure her parents were watching her from Argus' realm, equally pleased as their God. The same pleased look whenever she brought home good grades or prayed without fidgeting. It made her feel warm inside.
"I appreciate it, Ryika. But I agree, you're right." Gemstone tilted her head slightly, thoughtfully. "Everyone goes through it and we wish we could prevent it, but..." She paused, chewing her lip. She felt like a priestess by preaching so much, but she wouldn't stop now. "...the way I think of it, is that they are finally with Argus again. Or whomever God or Goddess they worshiped. Their death means their new life with their patron God. That's how I can smile." And to make her point, she smiled, gently turning her lips upward, the smile lines lining her youthful features.
"I think someday I may try to join the Wardens, like you. I also want to protect the herd." She deliberately left out Yoru's name, for she didn't want to get into her love life at the moment. She was a bit young to be in love, after all. "You don't have to worry about helping me, except maybe put in a good word for me with the Wardens." The girl let out a small laugh, just to lighten the somber atmosphere. "Wardens aren't gods, but I know they do everything they can. I know you do, even if I did just meet you."
The girl turned away from Ryika, took a few steps away, then looked over her shoulder. "Let's go to the koi pond. That way we won't interrupt other worshipers, and the soothing sound of the water and the bells will help me contact your families echoes." Without another word, the girl quickly walks off back out of the main part of the shrine.
