Evalynn | Tenderfoot | Age: 8
Evalynn pranced happily beside her younger companion, whose hoof steps were far less excited; more hesitant. But Kalita's hesitance would not dampen Evalynn's excitement! She had made a new friend. A friend who didn't fear her because of her blessing, who actually thought it was cool! So, naturally, Evalynn just had to introduce Caspian to Kalita. That way, they could all be friends. With a toss of her mane, she looked back at Kalita with a small grin. "C'mon Kali! He's not weird! He was really nice. And he liked my fire! You're gonna like him. I know it. He's nice." She stressed the 'nice' bit a second time, hoping to get through to Kali that she should start getting as excited as Evalynn was. There was no stopping Evalynn's joyous twittering. "We'll all be friends, just you wait and see. And we'll always hang out, and have fun, and it'll be great!" As Evalynn kept spouting random excited statements, she was aware that Kalita was probably tuning her out by now, but she hadn't walked away yet, so the day was looking promising. She'd planned to meet up with Pan today sometime in the afternoon. Of course, Anders and Meredith weren't too pleased that she just disappeared again, but they knew by now, there was no stopping her. At least today she wasn't venturing into the jungle by herself. She'd promised them today, she was going to play with friends in the village. As she approached the meeting place, Evalynn looked around expectantly, wondering if he was already waiting near by, or if he was having issues slipping away from his parents. Glancing again at Kalita, she nodded, self-assured "He'll be here soon."

Kalita | Age: 6
The small dainty mare plodded along side the large bulky mass of a horse. Her ears were pretty much flat against her neck with hesitation bubbling in her stomach. "Nice...? Are you sure?" She grumbled, her words caught behind her lips as she began to drag her hooves through the sand. "Just because some horse likes your fire Ev..... Doesn't mean they are nice...." The mare lifted her head and she let out a heavy, loud, ESPECIIIIAAALLLYYY loud groan just for Evalynn, directed into her ear.
After a while, with her eyes slouching with tiredness and boredom, they instantly shot open in surprise at her words. Soon. Soon she'd meet this elusive Pan that Evalynn seemed to constantly babble on about. She wasn't sure what to expect, what he'd look like and whether he really was nice. It'd be interesting to meet a foal who wasn't terrified of Evalynn, Kalita smirked. She had had the advantage of knowing Evalynn just when she was starting to discover her blessing... Albeit it was weird and Kalita was at first cautious, she had gotten used to the filly's fire. Especially when there was water around, that was the perfect safety net. She didn't have to risk losing her fins which she ruffled at the thought, just checking they are still there.... Kalita accidentally nodded to herself too, heat rising to her face when she realised how strange that must have looked.
Standing in silence for a few more minutes, Kalita dropped to the floor with a grunt. "Where is he? I'm getting impatient...."

Pan - Talori Tenderfoot (age 8) -
It had taken a lot for the buckskin colt to slip from the ever-watchful grasp of his mother. Every single time, just when he thought he was home free, he would hear her shrill voice calling him from the other end of the house, and her hooves marching down the halls. "Caspiiiaaan! You make sure to put a coat on before you go outside! Dont want you catching a cold!" A glance outside showed that there was no possible way a cold could be caught in such warm weather, but if it meant getting out of the house sooner, a coat the young stallion would grab. His little hooves carried him swiftly down the long hallways, pausing only for a moment to shuffle through the coat wrack, and then out the door he went. His heart pounded in his chest as he ran swiftly across the thick grass of his lawn and then bounding into the street, all the while wrapping the fuzzy cloak across his back. The flimsy thing was too big on him, draping over his small wings and dragging on the ground as he went.
He slowed as he neared the meeting place he and Evalynn had agreed on, sudden anxiety rising in his chest. She had mentioned something about bringing a friend along. Should he be worried? Father had never let him have friends before, and he felt that he had struck it lucky with the fireball of a filly he had only recently met. What if that was his one and only lucky streak? He didnt have time to dwell on it, though, as the familiar form of his friend appeared in the distance. His face instantly lit up, his thick wavy hair blowing against his face in the soft breeze as he took on an excited trot in her direction. "Evalynn!" He shouted with a wide smile. He glanced around quickly, not noticing the painted filly with her at first. Rounding a quick corner of a small village shop, he suddenly froze at the sight of bright purple fins atop a white-dipped stranger, his overgrown coat now wrapping around his back legs. He suddenly found himself unable to speak, one ear flicking back and the other remaining in her direction. First impressions are important, Caspian, be sure to make them count. His father's voice rang in his ears.
His first impression was going to be a dumbfounded idiot today, and he could do absolutely nothing about it.

Evalynn | Tenderfoot
Evalynn glanced down at Kalita as she nodded at nothing, and tilted her head to the side briefly, before hearing a light clopping sound bouncing off the walls of the shop walls. That was sure to be Pan! "There! I know it's him." She smiled as, sure enough, Pan came trotting into view. As He quickly made his way over to the pair of fillies, Evalynn bounced on graceless hooves, and watched as he froze in front of Kali and herself. Immediately, she rushed forward, tripping over her own hoof slightly, and laid her head over Pan's neck, hugging him happily, ignoring the over-sized cloak. "I'm so glad you could make it! I was worried your parents were gonna keep you locked away all day!" Then she stepped back quickly, and looked back at Kali, and jerked her head, motioning her to come forward. "Pan, This is Kalita. She's one of my best friends! Kalita, This is Pan. I told you he wasn't weird!" she puffed her chest out slightly as she introduced her two friends, and looked excitedly between the pair, taking in Pan's wide eyed glance, and Kali's hesitant, but curious gaze. Waiting for her friends to say something, she scraped her hooves into the dirt excitedly. This was going good so far. Well... They hadn't said anything to each other yet, but she was ever hopeful!

| Kalita |
The small filly flattened her curled ears once again at the sound of Evalynn's name ringing out. Oh Cascade... Wait. She stared at the bundle of....Feathers? That approached them, she got to her feet slowly and stared. He had wings! That was a pegasus! Kalita's eyes flicked to Evalynn then back to the dark faced colt. A pegasus... Under her breath, she spoke through clenched teeth for only Evalynn's ears. "He's a pegasus...How could you not warn me of that first?" The small hippocampus shook slightly, she was a Talorian citizen for cascade's sake how could Evalynn not warn her about the pegasus. Kalita stared warily at the colt and raised her head high, her forelock falling down one side with a few strands getting caught on her lashes. There was a twist of her muzzle as she inspected him, particularly his wings. Sigh. With a roll of her eyes she finally spoke. "Pan hm?" She took a few more steps forwards beyond Evalynn and flicked her tail. "Do you like Evalynn's fire?" Her words came out harsh, she was defensive of Evalynn's feelings and it seemed like she was interrogating the colt for the truth. Did he REALLY like her blessing? She wanted to know instantly, what to expect of this colt's personality. Being a pegasus was one thing, but lying to her friend? She'd smack her small hooves on the poor fluffy boy. "Answer me."

Pan - Talori Tenderfoot -
A smile briefed his lips as his friend tottered over to him and gave him a large hug and pulling him out of his frozen state. He giggled quietly, dipping his head ever so slightly. "Mother almost didnt let me leave. Im lucky father was called in to work, or i would have not made it." He rolled his eyes. As much as he loved his parents, they could be a little overwhelming at times. He glanced back at Kalita, running her name over in his head so he wouldnt forget it.
His eyes widened as the stranger filly stepped closer to him, his neck noodling back against his chest as she inspected him. His wings shifted tighter against his side when her gaze lingered on them a little longer than the rest. He often forgot about his herd's opinion of his kind, but he chose to brush it off. He was proud of his wings, no matter how bland and currently small they were. He huffed to himself, trying to bestow is own confidence. He took it upon himself to take a quick look at the filly, her bright purple fins standing out like a sore thumb against her light painted coat. His eyes sparkled with wonder and amusement- never had he seen a hippocampus so close.
He jumped slightly from the sudden harsh words she demanded of him, his eyes widening as he tried to process what the filly had asked of him. "Oh, I-I love her fire!" He stumbled slightly to find his words. A wide smile was thrown in the direction of Evalynn, pure joy in his tone. "Ive never met someone with fire before! Its so bright and pretty.." He trailed off with a lopsided smile, his ears twitching to the side as he noticed his obsession with his friend's blessing could possibly be a little over the top.//

Evalynn | Tenderfoot
Evalynn heard Kali hiss in her ear about Pan's being a pegasus, and her ears fell back slightly. His wings hadn't really been on her priority list to tell Kali. She had just wanted to show Kali that Pan existed. Looking at Kalita with a conflicted gaze, she whispered back "I'm sorry! I didn't think his species would matter..." For Evalynn, she didn't quite understand the prejudice against pegasus, her own mother had been a pegasus. But she didn't say anything past that, because Pan started to reply to her, and she turned her attention back to him with a wide grin. "Well, I'm glad your father was at work! Today is too good a day to waste doing... boring things!" she flicked her tail wildly, as if the mere thought of being stuck indoors doing something that wasn't playing was absolute torture. Evalynn was just about to say something when Kali finally spoke up, her attention fully on Pan, though Evalynn wasn't sure it was a good look he was receiving from the younger filly. As Kali spoke, Evalynn's ears fell back. " Kali-!" her voice filled with an indignant shock. The paint filly was just about to berate her friend for talking so... So rudely, when Pan stuttered an answer, and then, even though he was being accused, he grinned at her as he confirmed his love of her blessing. And even though she was still minorly distraught at her friends brusque tone, she grinned, and clicked her teeth together to produce a small flame for him. With that, her indignation vanished, and Evalynn looked at Kali with a reassuring smile, bouncing from hoof to hoof. "Are you satisfied now? Do you like him?" she desperately wanted for Kali to approve of Pan, even if he was a pegasus, it shouldn't matter because he was nice and sweet. Wasn't that all that mattered in a friend?

| Kalita |
Evalynn bringing her flame to life, Kali's body flinched at the faint heat she could feel from where she was. Her fins fell limp in reflex for the fear of catching alight or drying out. She hated when Evalynn didn't warn her about her fire... Then again, all Kali seemed to hate was everything.
With Pan stumbling over his words, she wasn't quite sure whether to believe him... At Evalynn's protests though, her dislike for Kalita's attitude....The small filly let the tension in her shoulders release and they rolled back with one easy swoop. She looked back over her shoulder, ears flicking forwards to her voice with a small, shy smile breaking through. "I guess I'm satisfied." She finally let an innocent sweet grin appear and slowly turned her head back to Pan, with a snap of her ears back against her neck. "But I'll still have my eye on him!" She stomped a hoof to punctuate her words. Kalita twisted her body to take a few steps away from the pair, observing their friendship and Pan's behavior. It was really the first time she had been this close to a Pegasus, feathers, why were those wings so...Small? Could he fly? She let her head roll to one side, eyes flicking to look at Evalynn. "I'll have to wait and see if I like him....Though he sounds a bit...Poncy," She snorted and giggled to herself. She heard her mother use that word once to describe their hoity-toity neighbors.

Pan - Talori Tenderfoot -
The colt's gaze jumped between the two fillies, his eyes full of uncertain and ears laying back ever so slightly. He had been told about Ev's friend, but he didnt know she was so.. direct. One ear flicked forward as Kalita called him.. poncy? He scrunched up his his muzzle in distaste. He had heard that term many times about his family. He didnt know exactly what it meant, but the way his parents reacted to his certainly told him it wasnt very nice.. He shook his head as a new found courage blew through him. He puffed up his chest, his wings tightening against his side. "Im not poncy." He replied with a huff, his long forelock falling into his eyes, ruining the strong moment he was trying to portray. He huffed in defeat, shooting the hippocampus filly a confused glance. Not only would she be keeping her eye on him, but he would be doing the same to her. He wasnt sure how he felt about her quite yet, but he was determined to figure her out and befriend her. He was not about to let a chance for another friend slip away.
He turned back toward Evalynn, keeping watch on Kali out of the corner of his eye. "What did you have planned for the day, Ev?" He asked curiously, his ears flicking up in her direction. "I doubt mother will allow me to stay out too long today. She's been bothering me about being behind in my lessons." His ears shifted to the side in slight embarrassment. Reading, writing, spelling.. all that could wait until he was older and didnt have places to play, right? His mother didnt seem to think the same.
