Ra | Medicine Horse.
When it hits it's like she can't do anything to control herself. Those who stood around her noticed the way she cracked her next, and how one of her bright amber eyes began to twitch in annoyance; it was how she warned others, and no body wasted a minute as they sped away from her. She tried to contain her screams as she bit down on her lip with such a force that her blunt teeth ruptured through her flesh as she looked around for a safe place to ride out the terror, but in such a big city there was no way she would be able to get through without catching someone's attention.
So with a loud huff of excess air, she tore through the masses of people as she searched for a place to break things, to scream as loud as she could, and maybe, if it was dire enough, she might bleed; it released the much needed endorphins that she needed to maybe fine a calm within her raging storm. Her ears twitched back in response to her father calling out to her as she crashed into the others around her; almost trampling a foal in the process who was luckily snatched out of her path of destruction by it's mother who shot out words of venom were spat out towards her.
Ra reached the edge of the city, her hooves digging deep into the sand as she thrashed her head around as if she was trying to rid these thoughts from her head. Tears began to stain the sides of her face as she heaved breaths in and out of her legs before she went crashing down to the ground. She just wanted to sit her and wither away into nothingness as she slammed her head down onto the ground, throbbing pain rushed through her skull as she stilled for a moment.

Ryder | Serora | Medicine Horse
It was a rather calm, peaceful day in Osulas when Ryder decided to travel to the big city in search of herbs that he might not already have or other valuables that needed to be bought. The hippocampus waded through the crowds of horses, stopping every now and then to either talk to someone that he knew or look at a merchant's stand. This trip was a much needed distraction from sitting in his home where his thoughts tended to drift to his lost wife, his mind whirling with thoughts and ideas of what had happened and if it had been his fault. Ryder bit his tongue, shaking his head as if to shake away the thoughts from his mind. He didn't need to think about her. She had made her choice, and he needed to move on.... but moving on was proving to be more difficult than he had thought. The world seemed to erupt with chaos in the moment that his attention lapsed from the present, and when he finally came to, he had to jump out of the way of a mare as she streaked through the crowds, running full speed with tears staining her face. His blue eyes filled with worry, but when he looked around at the horses around him, it was as if no one had even noticed. They all went back to their business like someone hadn't just ran through the crowd crying. With a frown set on his face, the medicine horse sought after the mystery mare, following the path that she had taken through the crowd and into the wilds surrounding the city. As someone living in the Zuiseset, Ryder had learned how to track, especially since his son got into trouble and needed a bit of rescuing sometimes. His eyes were trained on her hoofprints in the sand. He picked up the pace, trotting through the sandy terrain and weaving around the shrubs and scraggly trees until he heard the ragged breathes of the mare close by. Ryder paused for a moment, wondering if this was the right decision to follow her all the way out here. What if it was something personal, and he was intruding? Or maybe she was injured and needed help. With a deep breathe, Ryder walked toward where she was laying on the ground, making sure he appeared in front of her as not too startle her. He cleared his throat, announcing his presence as well as making sure his voice didn't crack when he spoke. "Hello, I don't mean to intrude, but I saw you in Osulas and just wanted to make sure you were okay." He said, his brows narrowing in concern. It was clear that she was anything but okay, but maybe there was something he could do to help? Word Count: 467

Ra | Medicine Horse.
Her ears twitched at the sound of someone speaking to her, and with tear stained cheeks she lifted her head up, the sand from the ground had stuck to her face as she tried to shake it away. The stallion sounded concerned for her and she found herself staring up at him in wonder, no one had ever come after her before so he was the first. And the fact that there was genuine concern lacing his voice made her lips twitch up into a quick smile before it fell. Her body was still shaking as she tried to form a sentence from her clouded brain. "N-No..." She started, her voice was almost like a growl as she struggled to get her words out, "It's... a-a normal thing. J-just a break down," She said it as if it wasn't anything unusual. She had them at least twice a week, sometimes even three times, and they always ended in her struggling to get up from her position on the ground. Her body and mind were in such a weak state that she sometimes remained in the hot sun for hours until her father came looking for her.
She felt a liquid run down her face as she continued to stare up at him, and the smell of iron filled her lungs as she noticed the red substance streaming down her face. That was when she noticed she had been slamming her head down on a rock this entire time, and that was when the tears began to fall again. Her head was throbbing, and she wanted to beg this man for help but the words couldn't come out of her mouth as she stared up at him, "You're the first o-one ...." She began, trying to suck in a breath as she searched for her words, "Th-the first one to come after me..." She finished, looking at him in awe as if Alya had sent him herself to help her fallen child.
"My name is Ra." She finally formed her first clear sentence as she waited for him to tell her his name. She searched his face for any sort of indencation that she had met him before but when she drew a blank she realized that this was probably the first time that she had ever seen this stallion, and she was looking at him with auch a pleading expression as she waited for his answer.
She needed to know the name of the person who came to help her.

Ryder | Serora | Medicine Horse
Ryder could see the awestruck look on the mare's face as she lifted her head from the ground, covered in sand where her tears marked her cheeks. His ears perked up to catch the soft stuttering that left her lips before she was finally able to speak coherently. A pang of concern and guilt flooded over him at her words. No one should hurt badly enough that something like this became normal for them. That was the reason why he had become a medicine-horse after all: to help those that were hurting. The medicine-horse side of his brain began working out different diagnosis and treatment plans before he could even think of anything else, and his blue eyes wandered quickly to the bag of herbs and other medical gear around his shoulders. When he realized what he was doing, the hippocampus looked back to see a trail of blood trickling down her face from a wound on her head, and that was when the tears started again, running down her face like great rivers. He trotted the small distance to her side where he sat down, laying his gear out beside him for him to easily see what to use. "Really? The first to come make sure you were okay?" He asked in disbelief as he pulled out bandages from his bag. He couldn't believe that not one soul would come back sure she didn't end up hurt, but he guessed that was what it was like in the big city. Everyone had stuff to do and places to be, and they didn't have time to chase after anyone. "You've got a pretty nasty scratch on your head. I can clean it and bandage it if that's okay with you." His gaze filled with questioning, hoping that she would be alright with him bandaging her up, but he'd wait for the 'a-okay' before doing anything. The last thing he wanted was to intrude on anyone's personal space and make them uncomfortable. Ryder nodded, offering her a friendly smile. "Ra, my name is Ryder." He answered her pleading expression, seeing her staring at him as if perhaps they'd met before. He couldn't say that he'd seen seen her before. He was pretty sure he'd remember someone with a tattoo of Alya on their leg if he had seen her before. Ra | Medicine HorseThe younger out of the pair stared up at him as if she was a little kid who had fallen and scrapped their knees. She forcefully blinked back the tears that were flowing down her face before she sucked in a deep breath of air, "It's okay," She said, giving him permission to clean the blood that coated her forehead. She stared at his tools as she waited for him to get to work.
"I... I have mental problems," She said, deciding if he was going to be the only one to help her that he should know why no one else has came to her rescue. She gave him a weak smile before sucking in a breath, "It's a normal... thing. That's why no one comes after me.... Most of them learned that if they left me alone that the panic attacks would eventually go away," She spat out her words as if they left a bitter taste in her mouth. Her mind was running a mile a minute as she thought of all of the others who had just stared at her when she rushed past them, but when she realized that this stallion really took the time to stop and help her a small smile fell upon her lips.
Twisting her neck a little she studied his face. The young mare almost let out a gasp of surprise when she realized that his eyes really did hold concern for her well being in them, and she found herself squinting hard at him as she struggled to figure out what color they were. To her eyes they just came across as a dull shade of grey and the fact that she couldn't tell what color they were almost made her want to break down again. The fact that she couldn't see certain shades what caused her to end up in the state that she was in. Ra wanted to lean on him and cry her eyes out, for the first time in forever she had someone whom seemed truly concerned about her and that made her heart want to beat out of her chest, "Thank you Ryder," her voice was slightly calmer than before as she held back her urges to lean on him.

Ryder | Serora | Medicine-Horse
He waited patiently as she stared up at him before telling him that he could clean and dress her wound. Ryder took of gauze from his bag and carefully unscrewed his container of water. Focusing his blessing on the fluid, a small orb of it rose from the flask, and he placed it on the gauze before the medicine horse began to lightly dab at the scratch on her head. As he worked at cleaning away the blood, Ryder's ears perked up when Ra spoke, and a sympathetic smile crept over his features. He had heard of horses who had temporary lapses where they couldn't control their emotions though he had never treated one before. His mentor had taught him various ways that he had treated horses with such ailments, but it seemed that each case was different and so was each treatment. It was disheartening to think though that horses she had probably been around her entire life ignored her in her time of need. It had been obvious that she was hurting, hurting enough to inflict wounds on herself. From what he had seen of such horses, even a simple act of kindness and letting them know that they are important and seen can be enough to help them heal. "I'm sorry. I bet that's hard on you." Ryder muttered while he dried the injury before taking out a greenish colored poultice from his satchel. "This is a mixture of aloe leaves and cactus juice. It'll help keep the wound before becoming infected, but I wanted to warn you that it might sting a little." He offered a lopsided grin, showing her the lump of plant material. At the sound of her voice growing more steady and calm, he gave her a small grin. "There's no need to thank me, Ra. I'm sure you would have done the same for me if our situation was reversed."

Ra | Medicine Horse Ra listened to him speak, his voice brought a calming sensation over her soul as he cleaned the wound she had given herself. She smiled faintly as her eyes took in the material he was holding out to her, a mushy lump of a substance that she could hardly recognized since her perception of color was all made up of various shades of grays, and a few sparks of colors here and there. She felt the last remaining bits of nervousness disappear as he explained to her the healing properties within the mushy lump, a soft smile fell upon her lips as she thanked Alya for bringing her someone who was so careful to make sure he didn't cause her anymore trauma then what she had already endured.
Her ears flickered towards the sound of his voice carrying over to her. His statement of how she would've came to his rescue made a faint smile dance across her lips as she glanced over, "Ironic," She spoke up, nodding her head that he could use that lump of mushy stuff that appeared to be a dull grey to her, "I just think it's funny how I'm a medicine horse and I can't even tend to my own wounds," She laughed dryly, her words were void of all emotions as she turned away, "But you are right, I would have came to your help if needed," she finished her words as she averted her gaze from him as her smile fell of of her muzzle. She felt as if he words meant nothing to him as she forced them out of her mouth, the sound of those words felt odd coming off her tongue for it had been a while since she had felt like she would have been of any use.
She didn't say another word after those strange words flowed off her tongue. They tasted odd within her mouth, but she found her lips twitching up into a small smile before it disappear. Her mind rushed with thoughts of actually tending to someone's needs, it had been a while since someone had made their way through her doors for help... For particular reasons that no one enjoyed speaking of. Finally she let her amber eyes turn back to Ryder as she studied how he worked, hoping that if she watched him long enough that she would learn some new method that she could use on her Father when he needed her help.

Ryder | Serora | Medicine Horse
As a small, calm smile danced across her lips, Ryder took it as a sign that it was okay to apply the pulp to her wound to help further prevent any infections that may try to seek their way into the wound on her head. He rubbed mixture in carefully, taking extra care not to make the wound bleed again, and once the medicine had been placed, he began delicately wrapping the injury with bandages that he had been carrying in his bag. It wasn't a particularly nasty wound, but any cut open to the environment could be prone to festering, so he thought it was probably a good idea to be safe rather than sorry. Once her head was bandaged, Ryder double-checked his work to ensure that it would stay put but wasn't too tight before he began repacking his belongings in his satchel. His blue eyes lifted from his stuff when she spoke, and his brows quirked in curiosity at her statement that was followed shortly after by a dry laugh. "Well, to be fair, it would be hard for you to treat your own head wound." He attempted to assure her, smiling softly as he put his bag back around his withers. "And I'm sure you're a great medicine horse, but from what I've learned in life, sometimes you just need a little help from others." Ryder said, a sad smile pulling up the corners of his lips as if he had learned that lesson personally. It was hard to believe that he had never seen her before considering she was a fellow medicine-horse. Normally they all shopped at the same herbal shops in search of more rare plants for patients or even simple things like cold remedies. "Can't believe we haven't crossed paths before now. Maybe we can teach each other a few medicinal tricks." Ryder chuckled softly. It felt odd talking to someone after spending so much time alone recently. Of course, he had patients that he tended to that either stayed in their own homes or slept in the room in his own home that he had turned into an infirmary, but it wasn't quite the same as talking to a stranger that you happened to meet during your travels. "I've finished with your bandages I believe. Let me know if they're too tight or something, and I'll fix it for you." He offered with a nod of his head. He stood from the ground, making the large fin on his back rise and fall as his muscles tensed and relaxed once more. Word Count: 429

Ra | Medicine Horse.
Her ears twitched as she listened to him speak with an curious look washed across her features. Her brows went down into a very displeased expression when she realized she wouldn't have be able to take care of the cut that she had self-inflicted across her forehead. She quickly wiped it from her facial features though, not wanting the older medicine horse to think that her bandages were to tight against her forehead. Ra pierced her lips together as her head tilted slightly to the side, there was a hint of sadness to his small smile but she forced herself to not pester him about it because for all that she knew he could be thinking about something that caused him to be sensitive and she never desired to drag unwanted feelings out of someone.
Ra smiled widely at him, a true heart-felt smile that hadn't graced her muzzle for several years now and she found herself questioning why she felt so oddly calm around Ryder but she pushed it to the back of her mind as she looked up at him, "Yeah, maybe we can," She felt her smile grow bigger with happiness. It had been forever since anyone mentioned anything about sharing medical secrets with her, let alone even being okay with her taking part in the medical field, and she mentally thanked the older stallion for making her feel welcomed under his care.
"No, they feel fine," She finally reassured him that the bandages that were tied across her forehead were not causing her any discomfort, and she added on a smile to make sure that he understood that she really was okay, and not just faking it. Standing up with a grunt, the mare balanced herself on her shakey legs as she tried to regain her strength for the burst of panic that had rushed through her not too long ago. She stared at him for a moment, thinking of what she should say next to him, but when nothing came to mind, "I would like to talk to you some other time," was all that she could say. She was hopeful that she had found a friend within her rescuer and she pleaded with Alya that he would want to be her friend as well... No matter how crazy or disturbed she came off as.

Ryder | Serora | Medicine Horse
He tried his hardest not to let his expression harden as it normally did whenever he thought of her. He didn't want to think about her, but it seemed everything he did since she left reminded him of their time together. It was true that he was starting to becoming more used to being alone. He didn't need anything aside from his work and his son, but he did feel remorse for what his son had been through with the lose of his mother. No child should have to go through that, and Ryder knew that Leif had taken the lose pretty hard. The stallion pushed away his troubling thoughts about his past, focusing instead on the present. Ryder returned her warm smile with one of his own when she agreed that they could possibly share some tips and secrets of their trade. It was a relief to see that she was doing better since he had found her cowering in the dirt. The tears had dried on her face, and she was no longer sobbing uncontrollably. She was even smiling which was a huge improvement from minutes before. He always tried his hardest to make some sort of connection with those he tended to (though some medicine horses would object against it, saying it was unprofessional). In his experience though, it made it easier for them to want to try their hardest at getting better. Of course, there were different cases that had to be treated differently, but Ryder enjoyed being nice when he could. "That would be great. I'm always open to new techniques and practices." He muttered, looking down at Ra as she remained on the ground. "Feel up to standing? I could help you if you need me to." Ryder offered with a kind grin. The hippocampus nodded when Ra approved of the bandages, glad that they were comfortable enough over her wound. When she stood on quivering limbs, Ryder made sure to stick close to her until he was sure that she wouldn't topple back over. He paused for the few minutes it took one of them to figure out something to say to the other. Goodness, he certainly had lost what little touch he had with socializing, but it was a relief to him when she was the one to speak. A soft chuckle escaped him as he nodded his head. "That sounds like a plan, Ra." Ryder agreed. Maybe he would be making a new friend in this mare that he had helped. Maybe with a little more help, he could help her with whatever was prevailing her, and maybe... just maybe making a friend would help him with his own problems as well. Word Count: 451

Ra | Medicine Horse
Ra paused for a moment as she waited for her wobbly legs to get use to holding up her body weight. Staring at the ground, she found herself concentrating on her pulse that was running underneath the tightly wrapped bandage, and her lip with up with a quick twitch as she thought of the fact that this stallion standing next to her had kept her blood from running out of the cut she had self-inflicted onto her forehead. She racked her brain on what else she should say to the hippocampus who had came to her rescue but when nothing else came to mind, she nervously popped her neck several times before glancing over to him with a curious expression.
"I should be getting home now," She said, her amber eyes scanning him up and down one again as she thought of all of the other things she needed to do before the sunset, "Father is probably starting to worry now," She added on, nodding her head slightly as if she really believed the words that had came out of her mouth. In all honesty, he probably was worried about her but she was beginning to doubt that simply because he didn't come after her.. It was a strange who she had never meet who came running to her aid.
Smiling widely at him, the mare took a couple of steps away from him, her attention turned towards the city she had went running from. It laid in the distance, still just as peaceful as when she had made her bolt out of the city. Ra replayed the scenario over and over again in her mind as she turned back to face the stallion who had helped her, "It was really nice to meet you, Ryder," She said, the genuine smile still planted across her face, "And thank you so much for your help," She added on, already running ideas through her mind on how she could repay him for his kindness but she reluctantly washed those thoughts from her mind for she had a feeling he wouldn't expect anything for his good deeds.

Ryder | Serora | Medicine Horse
Ryder waited silently as she stood up on her own, not wanting to push her to speak if she were feeling lightheaded from her head wound and blood loss. He'd let her be the first to speak if she wanted to do so. He disliked when others pushed for information or even just words when he didn't feel like talking, and he didn't want to do the same to another. Plus, he wanted to see if she appeared to have any sort of dizziness or disorientation now that she was back on her hooves. It wouldn't be wise of him to let her travel back to Osulas alone if she might fall down or pass out because of a dizzy spell. When Ra eventually spoke, Ryder gave her a short nod of his head and offered her a friendly smile. "Alright. I'd hate to make your father worry any more by keeping you here any longer." The stallion muttered with a flick of his tail. He was sure her father would be wondering if she were alright or not after he got word of what had happened, and it was probably best that she returned to him to assure him that she was okay. He knew if it were Leif that he would be a worried mess. His blue eyes followed her as she took a few steps back toward the city, praying to the gods that she made it all the way back safely. Ryder gave her a lopsided grin as she turned her head to look back at him, thanking him for his help. "It was nice to meet you too, and don't worry about it, Ra. It was the least I could do. Stay safe." He said back to her. Hopefully the next time they met, it wouldn't be under similar circumstances. "See you soon hopefully." Ryder added as he turned in the opposite direction and began his trek back to his home in the Zuiseset. Word Count: 329
