IrusuTrust the wolves but never tell them where you're going Was it mad to say there was beauty in the chaos in bomb. The loud noise that rattled her, to the smoke and bright colors of the fuse reaching impact. It was magnificent, beautiful, it was what made her job worth doing, once was a wall was no longer a wall. But her mere seconds to enjoy it, was dashed throughly as a scream suddenly filled spaces in between. "SHIT!" She howled and was thankful Teu was on it as quick as he was. Another voice was heard, that of Arges. Her nostrils flared the scent of charred flesh filled the scene. This mission was about to be doomed a failure.
His leg is blown off, she heard Teu say as he screamed at someone to help him. "Go help him!" she hissed towards anyone that excelled at this. She on the other hand was of no use. "Someone needs to carry him, we have to move quickly. The guards will be here in no time." she barked out the orders as she quickly picked up her supplies, fiddling with something in her bag, her plan b of the sort to help them get out of this mess. The other part of this mission, well if they make it that far.
"Someone better get the rest of them out of there, get your weapons ready, we wont be alone for long." she remarked narrowing her eyes, praying to Argus this mission would turn for the better, praying that no one would die here.

Yuki
Yuki watched the chaos unfold, grinning quietly to herself. It was wonderful. Then came the screams and Teu's shouting, going on about someone being injured. Irus's voice bellowed out from behind the duo in reply.
"Go help him! Someone needs to carry him, we have to move quickly. The guards will be here in no time."
With a simple nod, Yuki moved to step towards the fallen equine, nipping at their twin's neck to get them to move as well. As she approached Yozora's form, a small gasp escaped her lips upon seeing the damage done, her gaze shifting to her own missing leg briefly. What on earth had the arisen been thinking standing so close to the wall?! She was sure messages had been sent to the prisoners to let them know the rescue would be happening today. And yet...
Shaking her head, the pair knelt down, Yuki shooting a glance at her twin as they did. "Someone help move him on to our back! We'll carry him!" She shouted in exasperation, working in tandem with Hikaru to do what she could to move the injured arisen herself, only then noticing the flaming equine charging toward them. "Shit..." She muttered, turning to see Hikaru's expression mirroring her own.

╬ ⧖ C A I V A R U S ⧖ ╬ "I didn't care if he was a genius or a fucking idiot, he was rotting away, and it wasn't fun to watch." Curling their neck, jaw tense, Caius listened to the countdown with baited breath, unsure what exactly the explosion would be like. His gaze only momentarily flickered to the red unicorn upon feeling his weight on his side, but he quickly looked back to the wall as the countdown hit the last number.
While he hardly noticed the heat, welcomed it even, the tremor and vibration that reverberated through their entire body and left their ears ringing was not as welcome.
"Wh-What in the name of-"
"You got that right," Caius grumbled in agreement, shaking his head to throw a bit of dust and rubble off. Then the scream hit his ringing ears, catching both him, and Varus off guard. As was Teu running straight into the dust and rubble.
"Teu!" The cry came up, control flickering away from Caius for a moment, leaving him snarling and tossing their head.
"What did I tell you?" Caius snapped, shaking their head. He froze, hearing the angry scream from within. Shit.
"Caius-" Varus started, ears pinning, gaze widening and tail tucking in fear. Again control flickered, making Caius snarl audibly when he grabbed control back.
"I'm going! Just stop!" Caius shouted, finally moving, also charging forward to finally see what was on the other side. Oh. Fire. Quickly he took stock of the situation, feeling familiar training and senses being brought back to him after so long. The horn on the ground, the scent of blood mixed with the rubble and smoke.
Caius watched Teu only for a few moments, not wanting Varus to watch any of that for too long. "He's fine, Varus, can't say the same for the other one." He simply bit out, before focusing his attention on the flaming equine. That wasn't a blessing from the Arcane god...
He heard the shouts from the others around him, instead stepping to place themselves in front of the twins, Teu, and the fallen unicorn, lowering their head to bare what remained of their antlers, baring their teeth. "Back the fuck up and get out that Gods damned hole we just created! Whatever temper tantrum you're doing with that blessing of Ignacio's isn't worth it right now!" He snapped, voice rasping slightly. It was nowhere near the strong, commanding boom he'd once had. Ruined by the smoke Varus loved, and a mixture of vocal chords that was not quite his, yet not quite Varus'. Still, he stared Arges down, unafraid of the fire he had.
"Throw your shit at people when we're out of here and we got him," He tossed their head towards the fallen unicorn, "in a better spot and getting medical help! Right now you're just being a fucking brat, and I'd gladly throw you down on your ass if you want to try me!" Caius snarled, tail lashing.
"Caius- Caius don't-"
"Varus!" Caius simply hissed, not wanting to give him anymore attention. He genuinely, honestly hoped that the common horse would keep up his charge, and try to attack. He wanted to be able to feel the pull of battle, the sting on his muscles. The fire meant nothing to him, so he welcomed the challenge openly if the punk decided to go through with it.

Vincent 432 words || post IV The kirin eyed the positioned charges with curiosity. Dragonfire had always been enough for most of the extreme things his people needed to do, so these contraptions were new to Vincent. He felt a bit of pity for them, needing to create a bunch of new things to be able to compare to other races. When the explosion first went off, the heat was fierce, which was rather unexpected. For one second he enjoyed it: it felt like a brush with Ignacio. Then the shockwave hit him, and the sound of it was deafening. Vincent groaned through the ringing in his ears. What kind of stupid idea had been this? The strange Arcanist's? That excuse for a leader was supremely dumb, if that was the case. Now the Arisen was practically dead at their feet. It took him a bit longer to adjust to the effects of the blast, Vincent waited for the dizziness to pass while being loosely aware that Teu had raced to tend to the injured horse, Irusu was screeching some nonsense, and one of the conjoined twins was asking to put Yozora on their back. Regaining his bearings, Vincent hissed at the head that had spoken: " He needs to contain that bleeding on his legs first! He'll die otherwise!" He was distracted by the other locked horse's anger. He had dismissed their original outburst, but they seemed to be upsetting who he assumed to be Caius. Something inside him, something that had been stretched for a while now, finally snapped. How could they be so foolish! Wasting time arguing when they might be kidnapped or killed! How could Lord Ignacio choose a strange horse to carry his blessing? Deliberately (stupidly, Shep would say), he put himself between the two angry horses. " Caius, Varus, whichever of you is in there- stop! We must focus on the injured! Butt heads with this one later!" his voice wasn't commanding, but when he turned to the one he assumed to be called Arges it got suddenly colder. He bared his teeth. " And you, Sun-blessed, stop trying to be difficult, cant you see we have enough to deal with right now? If Ignacio himself has chosen you as one of his own you must have something more special than smoke! So quit being so stubborn and start acting like one worthy of your blessing already! We're risking our necks here and you're making a fuss!" Vincent stomped at the ground in anger. " We need you to cauterize the wounds on the unicorn so we can carry him. Go and do something useful, then!"

Mateusz "I can feel my enemy begin to fear my drum I am ready when it comes to pain, I'm numb I can tell you things you won't believe I've done I kill to feel alive."
Yozora was losing blood, precious crimson staining the floor. Teu watched it run through the cracks and crevices, coagulating and mixing with the dust and small blue fragments, surging at his hooves. He blinked, once, twice, then raised his head as Caivarus ran to join him.
He had hoped the kirin would be able to handle Arges, seeing as they were able to push the flaming common horse around a bit. Only, Caius was arguing, Varus' voice pulling through for a few seconds before they switched back. Seeing it was both fascinating, and haunting to the unicorn, who seemed to bristle the moment Caius took a fighting stance.
Teu took the spear in his teke, and leaped over the pile of rocks with a quick jump, catching himself and jabbing the weapon between the violet kirin and Arges. Black eyes turned to Arges, ears fully pressed to his neck and lips pulled back, as if he were an angered wolf.
"I don't give a damn about how you feel, and I am NOT going through another fucking rescue mission and risking everyone's lives--!" he yelled, his normally-cool and calm voice sounding abrasive, forward. "I agree with you--what we did was stupid and absolutely foolish, but what is done is done!"
Teu rose up into a small rear, throwing his head before turning his head to Caius.
"And you! Quit trying to fight everyone! You're on our side now, asshole, and you have a job to do!" he snapped, waving the long spear toward Arges pointedly. They didn't have time to be spitting at each other, when there was a dying Arisen on the ground and the others didn't seem to know what to do with themselves. "Vincent, Irusu, I trust you can lift Yozora up onto the twins' back. Caius, you're one of the most battle-savvy here. Watch my back." He looked back at Arges, now taking a few steps closer to him. "You. Move your ass before you get all of us killed. My job is to return to Sterling with two equine, and we barely have a whole one as it is!"

Hikaru
Hikaru pinned their ears back as the shouting continued, escalating around them. This was getting ridiculous. If everyone would just stop panicking and focus on getting the hell out of here, things would be better off.
They knelt down at their twin's bidding, nodding as she spoke. Watching the chaos unfold and the unicorn remain untended to; Hikaru tore a long strip of fabric from their vestments, quickly wrapping it around the stump of the missing limb with their teke to create a makeshift tourniquet. It should hold up long enough for all of them to get out of harms way at the very least.
They waited impatiently alongside their twin for someone to come assist in getting the injured arisen on to their back. They'd probably be able to do themself, but doing so was likely to injure the unicorn further, which wasn't one of their goals for the day. Swiveling an ear back, they heard shouts coming from deeper within the prison along with the clanking of what sounded like weaponry and armor of some kind.
"Uhh.... We might wanna wrap this up quick!" They said with an intense urgency, trying to hurry things along. "I think we've got company!"

IrusuTrust the wolves but never tell them where you're going Irusu snorted as things int he air began to settle down, but her nerves were on edge. She expected their to be some injuries, but nothing like this, she expected the explosio to damage some ears, to have a few rocks hit at them. But to lose a leg? To be in this condition? Gods forgive her, she didn't mean for this to happen.
She refused to let it eat her up, to be a distraction when now was not the time. Argus help them all, it was times like this she wished she prayed a bit more to Argus then staying up all night with experiments on her explosives. Days like this she wished she was more then just destruction. Irusu shook her head and was quick to enter in the chaos and was there on the other side of Yozora and looked to Vincent. "Let's be quick." she remarked using her teke to reach out and sweep under Yozora and waited for Vincetn to to the same, so they could lift them up on the twins and get the hell out of here.
Ears flattened as she heard Hikaru speak, and she turned her head and her eyes widen, they were definitely fucked now. The sounds of others, the stomping of hooves and the sudden rattling at the door was enough to know it was only a matter of seconds. Gods have mercy on them all. "Someone the door!" she hissed out ears flat on her skull hoping someone would be quick to do something, perhaps buy them some time by melting the door or zapping it anything, for a precious few seconds.

Arges | Driven
The room was going cold. Not in temperature, but the light was turning a chilling blue. Arges felt himself grow dizzy and his sight losing focus. His own scream had ripped the air from his lungs and as shouts were returned to him his body begged for more air. Yellow eyes shot back to Yozora, watching Mateusz and the conjoined horses begin wrapping the Arisen's wounds. For the first time he got a glimpse of the mangled leg, barely attached. Everything was happening so fast. He was breathing too fast. A shape had started to advance on him. Dark, the glimmer of scales back on the body, shouting. Arges had turned to face the hole and now found him self scrambling backward, pushing against the front of the cell. From behind the still flickering flames his wide eyes stared at the kirin. "Leave" His mental voice came as a sob. The single word was sent forth to the minds ahead of him and with it spoken, the blue fire made its final wrap around his body. Hyperventilating, he pushed back on the feature behind him, trying to put distance between him and the rescue party. Why couldn't they settle for once. Cut their losses and go home. The fully engulfed horse scuffled his hooves, finding new purchase to shove himself back with. Not every battle can be won. He had learned that, but maybe they hadn't. It was something he loved about the Kawaru, probably what drew him to the faction in the first place. But. Somewhere, he learned how to give up.
A creaking came from behind the Driven's head and the smell of burning flesh lifted to his nostrils. Arges may have been immune to his own fire, but not the metal it heated. He leaned harder and there was a snap. The door he had been pushing against gave way and both it and the blue flaming horse tumbled out. The few seconds he laid on the smoldering bars a focused thought crossed him.

╬ ⧖ C A I V A R U S ⧖ ╬ "I didn't care if he was a genius or a fucking idiot, he was rotting away, and it wasn't fun to watch." Caius' head snapped to look at the other kirin, lip curling in a feral hiss. "And if he intervenes and does something stupid while you're trying to tend to that one?!" They expected him to stand down? If he did, and Teu got hurt, Varus would give him hell. Returning his gaze to Arges, his teeth bared, tail lashing and whipping behind him. His ears twitched towards Teu, nodding along with him...
Until the angry words were turned towards him. Sharply staring at him, nostrils flaring, Caius shook his head.
"Caius, I told you to stop... He's just- He's scared-"
"Shut up." Caius snapped, ears pinned in irritation. Everyone was getting on his nerves. He tuned out the commands for the most part until his name was mentioned. Fine. Watch their backs. Long as Varus didn't take over and break down crying... Upon the urging from the combined equine, Caius looked towards the cell door, ears pricking. Shit. He could hear it too.
Someone could go for the door. They could have gone for the door to melt the lock, if Varus had a blessing more useful than dream walking. Moving towards to the door, ignoring the flaming horse pressed up against the front, Caius prepared to be pushing on the metal barred door to keep it closed... But the mental shout, the voice that rang through their head in a way that was unfamiliar to both of them, it left him wincing. The fu- Was that the flaming one?
The scent of burning flesh hit his nostrils and he watched as Arges literally melted through the bars. What the fuck- Damnit! Now they didn't have a barrier! "You gotta be kidding me," he snarled. Now this was going to be even more difficult. If that stupid flaming equine wanted to go run away and hide somewhere else in the prison then it was his choice.
Still, he hopped through the hole made by the driven, leaping over the sprawled out equine. The flames were nothing but a comforting warmth, and he stood in the hallway, looking down both ways. "I don't see them yet." He called back into the cell.
"Caius- Caius go back- Go back we're going to get caught- Please, go back-"
Inhaling deeply, Caius closed his eyes for a moment. "We aren't going to get caught." He slowly, carefully uttered, trying to manage his patience as best as he could in the moment. "I will not let us get caught. I won't let you get caught." He almost bit his tongue before speaking again, opening his eyes now to keep an eye out down the halls. The words were bitter on his lips, "You like Teu, its the one thing that stops you from self destructing, so, I won't let us get caught, because you need that unicorn. Fucking trust me, Varus, this is what I'm good at." He got out in-between deep breaths.
"C...Caius..." Varus faltered, those words being the kindest thing Caius had said to him in the weeks since he had gotten his blessing from Argus.
"You're going to be ok. Trust me." Caius repeated, holding his staff ready.
"...O-Ok... I trust you..."

Mateusz "I can feel my enemy begin to fear my drum I am ready when it comes to pain, I'm numb I can tell you things you won't believe I've done I kill to feel alive."
At first, he was going to give Arges an out, to perhaps try and push him away from the cell and out to the tunnels. There was little time, and his eyes became calculating as fire filled the small room. He stepped back from the sheer heat, eyes narrowed as he tried to see through the flames.
Leave.
He straightened, eyes growing wide and before he even had time to react Caius was barking something firm to his second soul. Teu could hear the broken fear in whatever it was that rang loudly in his mind, Arges, his voice wavering. The smell of flesh, the pungent scent of burning fur, mixing with gunpowder and grime.
A sense of déjà vu left Teu faltering, watching as the kirin vanished into the flames, blending perfectly with the cold blue. He turned his head around, eyes pressed in concentration. "You need to get Yozora somewhere safe! I'm going after them!" he called back to the others, looking primarily toward Irusu. He blamed her for this. They came here to rescue two, and her damned recklessness might have just killed both! One last, final glare of fury, and he turned to the fire.
He sucked in a deep breath, squeezing his eyes shut before he leaped through.
A muffled cry of pain couldn't help but rip through his chest, silenced as he bit his lip. His shoulder had a nasty gash from the iron door, red-hot bars having scraped against his skin. But the adrenaline was quickly kicking in, and he only gave a slight glance to the charred flesh that stretched from his chest to his withers.
He didn't know if someone was crazy enough to follow the kirin and unicorn, but he silently hoped no one was.
Then it was just Caivarus, Teu, and the flaming horse laying in a heap of searing metal. Dust was settling somewhere behind them, smoke ahead, and the fire burning around them. He was from Aodh. He was not afraid of the warmth.
He arched his neck, teeth bared and firm.
"It's too late to hide, Arges!" he yelled, no longer caring if the guards could hear them. They were surely on their way now. "By Argus, by Ignacio, you need to come with us! Compliance with them is no longer an option, what is done is done!"
Teu's eyes scanned around them.
"Yozora is dying, and you are doing nothing but wasting our time, but I have a job--and that is getting you out of this cell, and back to Sterling!"

Vincent 277 words || post V
Oh, this had gotten out of hand fast.
Worst, his brain had finally noticed the smell of blood was now all around him, snaking through his nostrils towards his brain where it unlocked the memories most wanted to repress. Of fire and a desperate compulsion and a need for glory he could not understand, the desire to prove to everyone, to the dragons, to Ignacio himself he was worthy.
Mostly it reminded him of the dead, laying in piles around him, of the ground stained red like the stones in the cell. Vincent froze, breathing heavily, not looking at Caius and Varus (one of which seemed to be yelling at Arges), or Mateusz, or even noticing Irusu's orders. The only hint of movement coming from him was the tiniest flick of his lion tail. Truthfully, the kirin looked ready to bolt.
It was actually Arges' mental command that snapped him out of it enough to focus. Still pretty shaken, Vincent watched as though from afar as the three horses ran off towards the inside the prison. He only barely acknowledged Irusu's voice, moving in autopilot to finally help lift Yozora's limp form over Hikaru and Yuki's back.
"- Yozora is dying-" the scream came from inside the cell, muffled by the distance, but it was what Vincent needed to get his head fully back in the game. He looked at Irusu, finally taking her order seriously, pulling out his axe and keeping it in a defensive position.
No matter how stupid this plan had been, the only priority was to get out of this place alive. And then put a long distance between himself and these crazy horses.

Yuki
Yuki grunted as the fallen horse was hefted onto his and Hikaru's back, cringing slightly as he caught sight of Yozora's missing limb. Once he was sure the unicorn was in place, he glanced at Hikaru, nodding slightly in signal that he was good to go.
The pair stood slowly, careful not to jostle their passenger too much. "We're going to take him on ahead." Yuki stated matter of factly, noting the concern on their twin's face as the sounds of the watch drew ever closer. "We're always a bit slow as it is and with the extra weight, we'll need the head start." He muttered, moving away from the rubble.
As the pair began the trek down the dark tunnel, Yuki thought he felt the unicorn move slightly. "We will try to be gentle with you, though the journey home will be rough, especially in your condition." Yuki muttered, turning to look back at the Arisen briefly. "We will try to find you a healer well before we make it back to Sterling." He added in an attempt to reassure the injured equine.

IrusuTrust the wolves but never tell them where you're going Irusu was greatful for the help with Vincent, while she hardly knew much about them, still it was a body here willing to help. As they lifted Yoroza onto the twins back. Irusu eyed the others and nearly wanted to scream as she watched Arges tumble out the other wat. Gods be damned, she thought with a sneer. Once Yoroza was safely hoisted onto the twins back, she need to them as they spoke. "Agreed, good luck Yuki and Hikaru, keep him alive as well as you can." she dipped her head and turned to look to Vincent. "One out, one to go." she would need the Kirins help if they were to get the flaming boy out of here. Especially if they would not go willing. Time was of the essence, and Irusu would not be held back much longer.
"Lets hurry." she remarked as she charged forwards with a sharp look following after the others that dared to pursue the child on fire. Irusu snorted as she looked at Arges on the bars he had taken out with him. "Arges, we need to go. We dont have time for this, If you get caught.. it wont be like this time around in a cage, in a prison. Please we need you to come with use." she tried to reassure him, wanting him to understand that this was not the time. "If you have issues bring it up with the Arcanist, but they made the mission clear, everyone was to come with us." she remarked quickly as she turned her head knowing the guards would be here any second. This was a mess, a terrible awful mess, but she needed them all out.

Arges | Driven
Arges sifted through his memories. The moment of their arrest and travel to the prison. His eyes pinched shut as he thought back to their processing and where the possessions were kept. A clatter of hooves just across brought the Driven back to reality. He looked past the flames that continued to burn on his body to the kirin that had leapt over. Groaning as the burnt flesh peeled off the melting bars, Arges started to rise to his hooves. This was doomed. The flaming horse took steps away from the cell. He registered that the unicorn, Teu, was shouting at him. The air in his throat was dry, moisture cooked out by the fire that wrapped around. He didn't feel like the time was wasted, just being bought. Maybe it was his new conviction that calmed him, maybe it was the idea of fate. As Arges stepped into view of the hallway, he called around the corner, "Anah!" A rustling came from just out of view, followed by silence. A short moment later the dark, fluid shape of the relic swiftly flew through the air, returning to their master.
As Anah unraveled to float above Arges' body, the blue flames that once raged around the horse died down to a flicker. Blue embers flicked up from his coat while taller flames still danced around his hooves. Flecks of glowing cinders occasionally dropping from near his now stern, yellow eyes. He stepped backward into the hallway, quickly positioning himself between the oncoming Umare and Caivarus. Facing the cell, Anah unfurled behind the soot covered horse, the inky darkness of the blanket's underside filled the hallway. Arges looked at Caivarus, then to Mateusz, then to Irusu, and then to the cell. Whether he liked it or not, they were Kawaru. They were his family. He loved them and needed to keep them safe. "My family, Kawaru, I love you very much." His bright yellow eyes softened. The shimmering threads extending off Anah grow still and soon the whole relic follows. Behind Arges floats a still blanket, the velvety underside no longer glimmering with the subtle motions and now resting on a void black. "You know me. But I am to remain. Yozora's rescue is your objective and this must be completed without being seen." The relic, Anah, produces a warm sensation in the minds they touch as memories are warped. "Hurry"

Eos | Citizen
Eos wanted things to go faster, sooner, but as quicker was a thing of the now, suddenly fast was too fast and they were left reeling in the aftermath of the explosion, the chaos. It was bright and it was loud and they had forgotten their discomfort for a second until it happened. Overwhelmed but not seeing anyway around it, they started running, through and past the wall, only to lay eyes on their party members crowding a bleeding Yozora.
Eos stumbled, breath catching. Non, no, no. Everything was going wrong. And they were looking around, trying to orientate themselves, make sense of what had happened. The twins were already moving. They had to get Yozora out. That was the mission, their one task! How could th-?!
Thought stopped short as they saw their uncle and it was as if time slowed for a bit, before the reality of the past few weeks slammed into them full force. Before they knew it they were sobbing, confused and calling for their uncle in their mind. Yozora was the mission. They remembered themselves agreeing to it somehow, but how could they stand there and go, while their uncle stayed behind? There was no way. “We can’t leave him here,” she called, looking to those she had came with.
She looked small in that moment, pleading the adults to listen. “Why does he have to? It’s not fair!” Time was closing unto them, but instead of retreating, Eos went further in. “We can go home! Together.”
And in silence. Please

Hikaru and Yuki shifted under Yozora's weight but held steady. Vincent huffed, anxious but serious, as she agreed that they should head out already. She turned to him, seemingly resigned to having to fetch the runaway Driven, and stepped out towards the hallway, clearly expecting him to follow. The kirin, however, hesitated, looking out at where the twins had carried Yozora. He stood there, not even sure if Irusu had noticed he hadn't followed. Briefly, he considered just not going after them. Or out with Yuki and Hikaru. Just getting out of the city, back to the tunnels, maybe find a way out into the sunlight. This plan had backfired horribly (really, planned by non-kirins, how could it go well?), no one had any semblance of cohesion, all seemed to have been picked at random and their training had been worth nothing: they had nearly killed the one they were meant to save, and they still chose to try to argue with someone who clearly didn't want to be rescued! This wasn't his war, and he hadn't refused to follow his King's orders just to be dragged into another one. Bitterness hardened his stare. Arges' voice, floating down the hallway, reached him and Vincent stiffened, tired of this crap. Where the hell were the others? Drag Arges out with their teeth if he would escape their teke. Knock them out. Or better: leave them here to rot. He poked his head out into the hallway just as the Driven had finished speaking. " We have to go, now!" He hissed, not noticing or caring for the effect Arges had had on them. " Leave this one if he refuses to follow, or we're all done for!" His eyed turned on the youngest of them. What a horrible choice they had been, Eos was clearly too immature to handle this stress. Honestly, Vincent himself wasn't sure if he could take it any longer. " He does not want to be saved. If you wish to join him be my guest, but I'm not risking my hide for a selfish, cowardly fool who continues to endanger this whole group! If we don't leave now, and we keep pursuing this one, we will loose Yozora as well as Arges, risk loosing it all, and I for one am tired of this." He had reached his limit. Vincent had agreed to submit to Irusu's commands, and listen to his supposed comrades, but they clearly didn't care for working together. So, without waiting for instructions, Vincent turned his back on them, into the cell and out towards the tunnels. With a stiff, quick pace, he soon reached Hikaru and Yuki. His eyes were firmly on the tunnel ahead of him, but he spared a comment to the twins. " I doubt Arges is coming. I hope the others are being more intelligent than them."

It doesn't take long for Arges to be set upon by the watch, though with his form blocking the hole he'd created, it makes it difficult for them to move past him at all.
The Kawaru driven is arrested once more, an ability dampening cuff fastened firmly around his foreleg before he is forceably taken away. Once he has been moved, it doesn't take long for the rest of the guards to give chase to your team.
If you want to make it out of here at all, you might better start running.

╬ ⧖ C A I V A R U S ⧖ ╬ "I didn't care if he was a genius or a fucking idiot, he was rotting away, and it wasn't fun to watch." Nostrils flaring, ears pricking, Caius sharply looked over at the hole and saw Teu jump through. Damnit! Growling lowly to himself, he kept his eyes down the halls while Teu tried to convince Arges to come with them. That kid was just being a stubborn, stupid little shit... The rustling drew his attention, and he watched the cloak float over to the flaming equine, and the flames die down. What.
Watching Arges, brows furrowed in suspicion. What was Arges... Blinking, he listened, muttering a curse. "Fine, fine, Teu, it's time to go, we got our objective!" Caius snapped, hearing the hoofbeats grow closer. They got Yozora. They were done here. He herded the red unicorn away from Arges and through the hole towards the exit, and his head jerked towards the small child begging and moving towards the exit in the bars. "His mission is to stay," He tried to tell her. Their only objective was to get Yozora and get him back. "We need to go. Now."
If she wasn't coming... He wasn't even going to risk it. Lowering his head and taking a small run towards her, he slid his head under her stomach and put her up on their back, grunting slightly from the effort. Damn, Varus... They needed to build more muscle... Using their teke to hold her in place, and to make sure she kept still as best he could, he turned and followed Teu and the rest of the group out the broken exit in the wall.
Chains, shouts, more hoofbeats. "They're coming! Go! Now! Pick up the pace!" He shouted, looking over his shoulder and flipping his staff. A guard who got too close got a taste of cloven hooves to knock them unsteady before Caius whirled around to crack the wooden staff across the guard's face, sending them crashing to the ground. That might buy some time with the body blocking the tunnel somewhat, and one of the guards comrades being out. Then he pivoted again, picking up speed to get away, almost stumbling and falling himself from the weight on his back.
"Cai-Caius-"
"He's not dead," Caius snapped. If he had a better weapon, he probably would be. But he didn't trust blades around Varus. Growling, he kept an eye behind him while managing his grip on the young filly on his back and ushering everyone forward.

IrusuTrust the wolves but never tell them where you're going Anah showed up and suddenly everything changed in that moment. Irusu looked down at Arges and nodded her head respectfully to him. "Be safe, you're time will come when we will get you back home." she remarked. With that she gave him a good bye and followed the others out and back into the prison where they were once held captive.
Irusu nodded to the others as the spoke of its time to go. "Come on get going, catch up to the twins and help them get moving. We don't have time to spare. Yorzora's life is on the line and ours too." she spoke looking over as the guards were heading towards them. She huffed a bit and looked to the group, praying this would end up alright.
"I'll take the rear and watch out, keep weapons ready and be prepared to give them hell if needed" she remarked. Nostrils flared as she looked to the Umare, always thieving after their accomplishments and Irusu stomped her hoof and looked to the others as she dashed off into the tunnels. "How are you all holding up?" she asked her eyes narrowed as it was clear her mind was lost to something else, over thinking as she looked to the bags on her and gave a firm nod.

Y O Z O R A Male | Arisen | Kawaru Briem
His whole world hurt. Everything was strange and foggy and that overlaying net of pain was so much. There was noises and screaming around him, that much he could tell but nothing fully registered. There was pressure suddenly on his back leg, but it was strange. Like something was different. That forever buzz continued to echo in his head and with a small groan the injured unicorn closed his eyes. As his body was shifted and then the solid ground gave way to warmth and muscle, the unicorn groaned lowly.
At least his ripped up side wasn't touching anything and the large body underneath understood the need for smoothness. The gentle lope that rolled under him was much needed as far as escaping purposes and leaving the blast zone barely registered in his mind. Hearing the voice he gave a small grunt in response, at least trying to let them know he was acknowledging what was said. After that he felt the ever creeping presence of blackness and tried to fend it off. To think this day had gone this way. He had been told about the blow up but he hadn't realized just how much firepower would be released against the stones. Part of him wished he could have listened to Arges and moved towards him more but another part had wished for some way to communicate with the group on the other side. With those thoughts in mind, the unicorn slipped off into unconsciousness, going completely limp on the twins back.

Yuki and Hikaru
The twins turned to glance at Vincent as he came galloping up behind them. "I doubt Arges is coming. I hope the others are being more intelligent than them." The kirin's voice seemed angry and frustrated, not that the pair could blame him with the lack of co-operation the others were currently displaying.
"His loss." Yuki muttered, keeping a quick, even pace in time with her brother, trying to make their passenger as comfortable as possible. "If he wants to stay behind and face the wrath of the Umare like an idiot, so be it. She sneered, rolling her eyes dramatically. Hikaru nodded in agreement. "We can't afford to dawdle, Yozora's wounds need attention as soon as possible." They added, glancing back at the arisen in concern, catching a glimpse of Irusu coming up from behind.
"I'll take the rear and watch out, keep weapons ready and be prepared to give them hell if needed. How are you all holding up?" Her voice was coarse and firm, but it came as a comfort to the twins who worked alongside her everyday for years now. "We're fine." Hikaru remarked, concern evident in their voice. "Yozora on the other hoof...." They trailed off as Yuki picked up where they'd left off. "He's not looking too good." She snorted. "He shouldn't have been standing so close to the damn wall." She added in frustration, her hooves hitting the ground harder as she moved with a purpose, shifting Yozora slightly as she did.
"How are things back there?" Hikaru ventured nervously, wondering how much time they'd have before the guards were on top of them. "Do we have enough time to lose them? If a fight breaks out, I don't know as if Yuki and I can engage the enemy without exacerbating Yozora's injuries...." They trailed off, shooting Yuki a concerned glance that was met with one of her own. "Hikaru's right...We can either worry about Yozora, or we can fight.... we won't be able to do both." She nodded in agreement, silently praying that it wouldn't actually come down to that...

╬ ⧖ C A I V A R U S ⧖ ╬ "I didn't care if he was a genius or a fucking idiot, he was rotting away, and it wasn't fun to watch." She'll take the rear, what did they think he was fucking doing already? "Already had to knock one out," he snapped, "We're just peachy." They got their target, but this was still an absolute fuckin' mess. If they had a blessing better than dream walking then maybe, just maybe, they could do something here to help. "I don't suppose trying to collapse the tunnel behind us would be a good idea, probably put us all at risk, all that bullshit? Not like we're coming back here anytime soon." He glanced back, snorting, hearing the footsteps following.
"This is too damn slow," Caius growled under his breath. Even if the guards were weighed down by armor, they were weighed down by a body. He wasn't sure, but he felt like if they were just running, yeah, they would have a fight on their hands. They'd catch up eventually, be it here or later into the tunnels. "Tell me we got a better idea than just running, cause this won't cut it for long," He called out, tossing his head and adjusting his grip on the equine on their back.
"Caius- I don't think- Just keep running. T-There's nothing we can do other than that-"
"We could blow up the damn tunnel, that's what we could do other than running!" Caius hissed under his breath. They couldn't have blown all their explosives at once. If they did, then they were idiots. And while he'd like to call the non-kirin such things, he'd seen their technology, he'd seen the marvels, and he knew they weren't. So they had to have something left they could use to slow or block off the guards.
If he knew how the explosives worked, and how to use them, he wouldn't hesitate to grab the bag from Irusu and use it to block the way they were running away from, but he didn't. Caius growled to himself, again looking over his shoulder.
"Caius, you're- Caius, calm down- Please, y-you're getting angry and-"
"And what?! I said I wasn't letting us get caught, and maybe I'm a little pissed right now at the fact I can hear the guards coming and gaining." Caius barked back.

Vincent324 words | Post VII
Vincent started, then nodded at Hikaru and Yuki nonchalantly, hiding his surprise. He hadn't expected the twins to agree with his harsh words, and was pretty used to just staying on his own and doing his own thing, since everyone disapproved of him. It was a strange feeling, that of validation. Even if he was kind of being a jerk. The kirin huffed. He wasn't wrong though. He hadn't gone after Arges, and so he didn't know what the horse had told them, but at this point he almost hoped he had been left there. Vincent's eyes scanned Yozora's limp form. He didnt look so good. Silly horses and their flammable bodies, he was certain those injuries weren't solely due to heat but perhaps if he had scales, his body would have been better protected. Or maybe he should just have stayed away from the wall. Irusu was catching up to them, and Vincent looked back at the rest of his team. No Arges. Foolish, idiot, his brain supplied a number of choice words that could describe the Driven, but he was wise enough to know to keep his mouth shut. Instead, he heard the team bicker about what to do. " And what am I, a broken sword?" He asked the twins, raising his axe, which was still held in position to be used. Vincent rolled his eyes. " Thanks a lot." He eyed Caius and Varus as one of the kirins seemed to be talking to the other about exploding the wall. Vincent wasn't keen on doing more explosions, but it would indeed seal the passage and let them escape. " Caivarus' grumbling might actually have a point. Can't you use those damn explosives to collapse our escape route after we pass? They wouldn't be able to follow us then and no one would need to watch Hikaru's and Yuki's back." He said to no one in particular, but his ears were angled towards Irusu.

IrusuTrust the wolves but never tell them where you're going Irusu sighed, ahh this team what a terrible terror they were. but yet, perhaps behind the bickering, it reminded her of home and family. Oh well, one couldn't choose their family, so Irusu had to make the best of a bunch of bruised apples. Casius did bring up a good thought, but as Irusu looked at her bag with the last bomb, she shook her head.
"As much as I would love to through a bomb down the cave, it has other plans." she grinned widely. "Us taking back Yozora isn't the only plan. Were are going to blow up the main tunnel." she looked to them all. "Today the Kawaru take a stand against those that steal from us, not only our people, but our supplies, our inventions. We show them, we are not under their hoof anymore." Irusu looked to them. "I'll go ahead and set up, try to loose the guards, they know we have explosives they might be weary of following us to far." she remarked with a nod. "See you all on the other side."
Irusu laughs as she picks up speed and begins to move at her full speed ahead of the group to set up the bomb, the revolt against the Umare. Irusu prayed this worked, prayed perhaps her team could pull one together. That perhaps the twins had something to scare back the guards, prayed they had swift hooves. Gods she wish she was more prepared for this turn of events. She prayed the kirins could fight, she prayed Teu could look over Yozora and keep him alive. Argus watched over them all.

Vincent 575 words, post VIII
Oh, for all the stars in the sky, yet another crazy plan? Vincent half expected Irusu to bury them all underneath giant piles of rocks. He sighed, though, knowing that the unicorns would not be swayed. He hated the idea of still fighting for them, this stupid group with horrible ideas, but had a feeling that if he did not, they'd find themselves back in the prison sooner than he would prefer (and by that, he meant sooner than never again). So the kirin turned without a word, and raced back towards the guards.
Perhaps they were taken by surprise by his maneuver, since he hadn't given any indication that he intended to turn around, but one seemed to hesitate, long enough for Vincent to swing the weapon towards them. For all his training, he still wasn't the best at using it, but the strike was successful, hitting the guard on the shoulder, making a deep dent in their armor - deep enough to reach skin, if the Warden's yelp was any indication. They pulled away, which was good... but they took Vincent's axe from him, still buried in the armor, too stuck to be dislodged.
The kirin stared at the guards, weaponless.
If they expected him to run, however, they were wrong. This would have been Vincent's instinct, actually, had he still lived in Valore, but the fight had again stirred his memories, flashes of the time now known as the Gods' War mixed with his current skirmish. Back then, the idea of turning back was unthinkable, it did not even cross his mind. Much like then, he continued to fight like he had once: with his hooves, teeth, and what was left of his antlers. If he had time to think, Vincent would have missed his blessings.
As it was, he turned sharply to the left, lowering his head so the jagged stumps of his antlers left a gash in a guard's cheek. Another of them took advantage of his distraction to swing a sword at him. She did not miss, the sword opening a long wound on his shoulder. Vincent hissed in pain, and turned towards her, moving closer so she had no space to attack him again. The guard was prepared, however, and pulled a dagger from Ignacio knows where, slashing at his head. Vincent was barely able to duck out of the way, the dagger nicking one of his long ears as he did.
Alright, this was enough. Fighting both the guards and his flashbacks, Vicent was able to distance himself from them, landing a kick at someone's legs that sent them down. The distraction was enough for him to race back towards the group, cursing under his breath and wondering if he was the only idiot to listen to Irusu. At this point, he did not care. Reaching into the saddlebad attached to the harness he had borrowed to hold his axe, Vincent removed a scarf, that he used to tie around his neck and shoulder, attempting to use to stop the bleeding from the guardian's wound.
He didn't stop to see if Irusu was done. He didn't stop running. Vincent passed the unicorn, and the team, and even the twins, and continued onwards, towards the darkness. Perhaps he would allow them to catch up to him, perhaps not. Either way, he had done what was asked of him. Now all he wanted was to be away from this place.

As your team manages to make it away from the guards and past Irusu's checkpoint, a loud 'BOOM' echos through the corridors, shaking the ground as the tunnel collapses behind you, blocking the main passage between the Umare and the Kawaru. You may not have managed to rescue both your charges, but you did deal a blow to the Umare while making a strong statement: The Kawaru will be silent no longer.
