Heralds of Ash Open Faction Thread Chapter VII Journal Please keep the following in mind!- Posts must be a minimum of 175 words. There is no maximum!- No strict order is enforced, but there must be at least two posts between your own character's.- No god-moding or reading characters' minds (unless your pony is a literal telepath, anyway) - Always get consent before harming another character!- Your team is precious. Try to interact with everyone. <3- Have fun! Even if your pony isn't. 8'D Prompt: As a Herald, your long pilgrimage ended at the gates of Hrag-Ba'al , a magnificent black city of towering spires and intimidating lava flows. Though a far cry from the white marble and bubbling fountains you remember in another life, Hrag-Ba'al retains what made your city a home: the love and companionship you shared with your fellow kirins. The city is more sparsely populated than its enormity would suggest, but it doesn't feel that way. Acolytes and Hoplites alike select residences close to the central palace, and when there is not work to be done you are together, mingling in the plaza, sharing old stories and new experiences. It is as you sit reminiscing over your long journeys, your King appears at the maw of her castle. As she approaches, every eye turns expectantly to regard her.
Location: Hrag-Ba'al (central plaza) Time of Day: Morning Current Weather: Overcast This thread is open to Aodhians only! You don't have to register to join in!

Soleil you see, I've come to burn your kingdom down"Carassime." The King says, and though she does not raise her voice she is heard as easily as though she shouted, for the very world seems to stand still. Her eyes sweep across the gathering of people, solar flares in their own right, alighting on each face as the old, tender word leaves her mouth.
"Come." She instructs. "I have something to show you."
She turns, trusting that you will obey, and vanishes into the depths of the palace.

Hati;Aodh | Hoplite Watch them burn Physically, the Kirin was exhausted. Travelling across country with a body that felt barely awake had taken its toll. Emotionally however, Hati couldn't stop a tear breaking its way to the surface as she took in the first scents of her destination. Home.
For months she had been alone. Alone in the darkness of the enclosed forest. The complete opposite of what she was used to. No idea how to protect herself and certainly no clue on who she could trust. So she didn't trust anyone. Alone.
Then as though one of the very trees she was surrounded by came crashing down upon her, she remembered. Her King called for her and she wept as she was viciously reminded she was not alone. Her training rushed back to her muscles and faces flashed through her mind in rapid succession causing her to crash to the mossy ground. It did not last for long, she was a soldier. Taking a singular deep breath, Hati composed herself and focused on one mission. Getting home. She took off in a sprint.
Finally she arrived and she breathed in deep. The smell of heat and the vision of bodies with shining scales reminded her who she truly was. She was home, even if home was not as she remembered it, it was still home. Looking around she flitted through familiar faces, but one stood out from them all. Her King. Soleil's words struck a cord and Hati would not disobey and so she made her way forward and followed.

Ivar Hoplite Ivar grunted softly as he heard her. Her voice whispering in his ear, yet, there was no one close enough to him to have done that. Looking in the direction of the large palace looming over the city as a beacon. A beacon to those like him, Kirins, Ignacio’s children. He and many of his kind had heard the call, and many followed her voice, and it lead them here. It wasn't quite as he remembered, yet he felt the familiar feeling of home settling in his chest. Since regaining his memories he has felt more lost than ever. He remembers everything of his past, especially the loss of his family, and most importantly his love, Julius.
This voice though, this voice is giving him a sense of hope, perhaps this voice could lead him to find that which has been lost.It was almost soothing, the sound of her voice in his ears, like that of an old friend, giving him advice. He followed the voice to the palace, she beckoned him to come closer. Scanning the crowd surrounding the palace his eyes finally landed on her. The owner of the voice who had been whispering in his ears, calling to him. It was their king, Soliel. Ivar could feel the power radiating off of her and almost shivered. Oh how it felt so good to be in her presence once again. The king gracefully moved back into the palace, and Ivar along with several others moved to follow her, they would obey her command for she was their ruler.

OZYMANDIAS | HERALDS OF ASH He was coming home.
Even without his memories, he felt as if he’d been sent adrift; the horrid forests of Sirith were not where he belonged, much less remaining near vermin of equines. The experience of breaking and rebirth was not pleasant, hell, it was anything but, yet he would endure it a thousand times over for her. His King.
Though the change from his white and golden city was sudden (at least, in his head, it was), he found Hrag Ba’al to be exquisite in its own right. The dark spirals of towers stood stories over their heads, casting shadows as far as the eye could reach. He stepped over the black as night, pausing when he caught his own reflection in them. He had not aged a day- there were no wrinkles under his eyes, and he lacked the scar in the center of his chest where the killing blow had landed. He figured all of this- the city, the King, all the kirins- was a sign from Ignacio. Try again, he deduced was the message, even if Ignacio had not spoken yet. Be better.
As he carried himself up the steps, following King Soleil’s command, he promised himself that this time, they would do just that. Be better.
He looked to the inside of the great hall, his eyes fixed on the black furnish. As dark as obsidian, it shone like glass and the ceiling reached taller than he remembered. Of course, it lacked some of the detail the old palace had, but no matter. They would find their artists again, and they would bring to life great visions that rested in each kirin’s head. His heart swelled- their Kingdom was coming to life again.

Hati;Aodh | Hoplite Watch them burn As she made the walk through familiar faces, Hati was thrown far into a time before. She was sure the days were brighter then. As she pondered it, she also now remembered how Ignacio walked among them, so she supposed the days literally were brighter with him around. She felt that absence now. Hati felt in her gut that the gathered Kirins were hardly going to get a moments rest, but she noted to try and reach out to her God if the opportunity arose.
Coming back into the present, Hati felt her breath leave her as she was embraced by the palace and its rich history. It was as she was standing aghast that she felt herself bump into another body. Turning about to apologise, Hati was once again thrown back in time as she looked up into a handsome chimera face. "I-Ivar, is that really you?" Seeing someone she knew so intimately was the icing on the cake. They had really been given a second chance in life! Looking back the way they had come, Hati rested her head on the stallion's strong shoulder as she openly let tears roll down her face. She was home, she could be vulnerable, even if just for a moment.

WYNONNA | HERALDS OF ASH | HOPLITE
Gold, gold, bones, bones, under platinum headstones. Like moths to a flame, they followed their King.
Though this palace was not the one she had grown up in, familiarity still lingered in its walls, a memory of a memory. She traversed the grand, marble hallway like a shadow behind Soleli - falling in step with the others, expectant and hungry for answers.
Faces of the past surrounded her, and though their populace remained sparse and spread thin in comparison to years past, she trusted that more of her kind would heed their leader's call in due time. A small part of her had hoped to meet Sophia here, but it seemed that reunion would have to wait, for her sister was not amongst those gathered.
As they walked, another thought was spared for her parents; had they too, returned to the mortal plane? Would they return to the city they once revered and loved? Briefly, her mind flicked over to the unicorn that had tried to accompany her here, Savara... They had lost touch just days before reaching the city, where had she-
She shook her head suddenly, scattering the brief contemplation; the unicorn's fate mattered not to her, not anymore.

Ivar Hoplite Ivar paused when he heard a voice say his name, Turning around to face the voice he saw a very familiar silver and gold mare looking up at him. He moved towards her as he saw tears fall down her face. “Hati, it really is me” He told her happily. Finally a face he actually recognized amongst all the faces, he was relieved to have someone he was close to with him in this new confusing time. He brushed the tears off her cheeks with his teke, and nuzzled his face into her hair. They had been so close once, lovers even, before Ivar met Julius. Despite separating Ivar and Hati continued to stay close friends, even when her lover Skoll threatened him several times to stay away from her, he still stayed friends with her. Ivar wasn’t afraid of Skoll, and if skoll had been reborn like they had then he still wouldn't be afraid of him, but that is a matter for another time. “Come Hati, lets see what this our king wants to show us” Ivar said gently to the smaller mare. He gently nudged her forward to start following the crowd towards their king."Everything will be all right I'll be right here with you, I promise" he whispered to his friend.

Hati;Aodh | Hoplite Watch them burn Utter joy spread through her being as the calm and familiar voice swept through her ears. Flashes of their past washed over her as they moved through their grand palace, certainly fit for a King. Every step they took was one closer to Hati grasping onto this strange reality. How were they all back, in such strange times. Everything she had witnessed making her way from the wilderness back to home had a sense of familiarity, but yet it was foreign. It was like the plants had evolved and there were certainly a lot less dragons in the skies. That was one aspect that told Hati things were very different, what could possibly kill off all of the dragons?
Shaking her antlers, Hati decided to leave those questions for later and for now just enjoy the moment. Looking up at Ivar as they made their way through the palace after their King, she had to ask, "So where have you been, how long have you been?" Was the only way she could find to phrase it. "I want to hear it all." She told him. Just that thought alone had her intrigued to find out as much as possible about all of the returned Kirin's experiences, although trying to look ahead for their King who was being swallowed by equally curious beings had Hati thinking the past was the last thing Soleil was thinking about.
