I S Y K L E Female | Outcast | Talorian
Hooves stopped in their tracks, head turning slowly over their shoulder as the all too familiar voice rang out. Lips turned up in a small smile, fangs showing as the teen turned on a pivot and moved to meet Thad. A small touch was given to his shoulder, still getting used to the affection that normal horses tended to show. "I'm glad you're here. This is... Busy." Izzy spoke in her typical almost monotone voice. Hide quivered when a child ran by with a large streamer, feeling the material flick against her. A hoof rose before settling down once more.
The kirin found some comfort in having her brother here. He could handle social situations much better then he could, even if his tact was bad it wasn't nearly as awful as her own. She moved along beside him as they started forward, hooves being placed down carefully with all the children running around in what seemed to be bouts of extreme joy. The events that had been flooded through her mind still haunted her, seeming to steal away her present consciousness and place her back in her old life. Izzy struggled constantly with what was real and what wasn't. When it seemed a big drafty unicorn was headed their way, Izzy stopped and tried not to widen her stance in front of thad. He was safe here. They both where, right?

GIDEON Gideon stopped a close, but not impolite distance away from the two childen. Yes, the hippocampus had to be Thaddeus, and the kirin seemed to be in his company. The Defender’s eyes were slightly suspicious, but not hostile – surely if Nagisa’s son was with the creature, they would not be dangerous. Nagisa wasn’t a fool, especially not when her children were concerned. Besides, it was just a child, wasn’t it? Gideon felt a bit silly for being worried, but he was also aware that the wariness of anything to do with the fire god was sensible, wise even. After Kiephis had been ripped apart by underwater fire, it was even more difficult than before to feel particularly charmed by the creations of a god who did it.
“Good day to you two”, he greeted them, friendly but with an edge of caution. “Enjoying the preparations, Thaddeus?” Gideon then asked the young hippo, before giving Isykle a sideways glance: “Who’s your friend?” For a kirin, the young one was at least pleasantly, well, sea-hued. Without large antlers one could mistake them for a hippocampus, but it was the shape of the shoulder scales that betrayed their true nature, at least to Gideon.

Luna Talori - War-forged Emissary
......
"No need to apologize Basileios. It happens to the best of us." The mare smiled at him. Honestly, she was the one who needed to apologize as she had dosed off during the conversation. Maybe she needed to go asleep a bit sooner instead of staying up all night reading books. But the book series she was reading right now was so interesting that she always loses track of time as she reads them.
Luna thought a bit about his question. What did her to this festival? She was normally the one to stay indoors reading books or visiting the library. But yet here she was, eating dried fruit while talking to a guard commander.
"I honestly don't really know. Maybe i just enjoy being outside and breath in the lively atmosphere." She said smiling. "The Solstice celebration has always been my favorite. It was the time of celebration.. I mean it still is, but it's different." She sighed. "I'm not used to change. A lot has happened and i don't know what or how to feel about it."

------------------ Thadeus ------------------
The irritation that had been festering inside Thadeus was momentarily subdued by Izykle's presence. For whatever reason she made the colt feel braver and less lonely. Perhapse it was because she was even more ignorant of the world than he was. Or maybe it was simply because she was dear friend.
Thadeus lifted his nose in the air in a snobby manner as Isykle commented on the commotion around them. "Yeah, I don't really get why everyone's excited. There's not even going to be a sacr-" The young hippocampus stopped abruptly as he caught sight of the large blue figure coming towards them. The Defender.
Thadeus held his breath in his throat as he examined the stallion who had taken his father's place within their society. A sick nervous feeling overcame him, like eels in his stomach. Suddenly, he was all too self conscience.
“Good day to you two. Enjoying the preparations, Thadeus?” Gideon had addressed him personally and yet the colt found it hard to look him in the eye. "G-good day sir. Yes sir." Thadeus managed to croak out. His mother would have said something about not using the proper title of the person he was speaking to, but he wasn't ready to call Gideon Defender yet. To Thadeus, Defender meant dad and Gideon was not his dad.
“Who’s your friend?” Gideon questioned. Thadeus followed his gaze to Izzy who still stood beside him. "This is Isykle." Thadeus stated more confidently now that he was looking in her direction and not the huge stallion's. "She's my sister. I found her in the wilds." He smiled, amused by the memory of filly trapped in the vines.

Daksh was nice company, Abinadi decided. “I’m glad you’re trying to get out more, but I understand that it’s hard,” Abinadi conceded. He agreed. Making an appearance was always taxing on his energy. He would be due for a long nap after the preparations. He couldn’t imagine what the actual Solstice Celebrations would be like.
He redirected to go walk towards the food stall at Daksh’s words. They could enjoy a treat, he was sure. While they walked, he swiveled his ears and caught Daksh’s next question, “Yes, they are typically quite lively. I think that this time, it’s just easier to tell since we’ve gone through so much,” he mused. The happy charge to the air wasn’t anything different, but it was new in the sense that for the months before it, everything was tense and somber.
The change is a happy one. One that Abinadi is glad to see. He buys two candied apples, one for Daksh and one for himself at the food stall, passing one to his companion with a smile. “Do you have any friends here we can go see? I’m sure my sister and father are out and about. Perhaps one of them has a booth set up, but otherwise, I’m sure we can just mill around?” It was pleasant outside. Abinadi wouldn’t mind simply enjoying the festivities.

“Too good to be true?” Sinclair tittered with a smile, “I’m sure,” despite that, she passes him the little potion. “Sinclair,” she supplies her name, blinking up at the Guard Commander kindly. She showed the stallion how to use the potion, just a few drops mixed into a glass of water or food and it would work just as intended. Then, she turned her attention back to her booth.
“You’re welcome to see if there’s anything else here that might interest you, but how are you enjoying the preparations Guard Commander? It seems as if everyone is out today,” she commented, her eyes scanning all those present. She didn’t recognize everybody, but she had run into a few of the many faces present there on that day. It was nice to catch up and say hello to everyone, even those that she’d never met in person, or who had forgotten her from whatever small interaction they had shared.
“I’ve seen the Defender, and a couple of councillors already. An emissary too, if I’m not mistaken,” She supplies, still glancing around.

As the large stallion came to a stop before them, Izzy was momentarily taken by their stature. A massive beast of rolling muscle and respect. Yet Thad seemed suddenly uncomfortable and... Small. Eyes flickered over the hippocampus colt, head tipping slowly. Then with a small breath she looked back towards the guardian and dipped her head slowly.
"Hello..."
Slitted eyes watched him look her over and with a small shiver she put a more protective hoof in front of her brother. "Who are you?" She was versed in some of the culture and knowledge of Talori and so she did not completely know who all the figure heads were. Spined tail shifted like an agitated cat's behind her, head tipping slowly in the other direction. The details on his shield and also the weight it must be to bare on a single shoulder was strange. Maybe it was ceremonial... Head lowered slowly to brush over her brothers ear and give it a small nibble. She was uncomfortable but needed to be social. Mom had asked them too after all.

Daksh;Talori | Redeemer Memories, shards in my chest. I remember. I remember. I remember.
He gave a small smile to Abinadi, glad the older pegasus seemed to understand. One would think as a pegasus, Daksh would naturally seek out others like him, and feel more comfortable around other pegasus. But usually it was the opposite. He found being around other pegasi brought more attention to himself, and he didn't like that. But Abinadi was nice. He followed the councillor to the food stands, interesting piquing at what there may be. "There has been a lot happening. It's good to see some normalcy happening."
When Abinadi buys him a candy apple, he grew flustered, ducking his head, a quiet 'thanks' leaving his lips. He wasn't too used to other doing things for him like that. "I don't know too many others that would be here. I came by myself, and really wasn't expecting any company." The pegasus chuckled to himself, suddenly feeling rather sorry. Everyone else they had passed had been conversing with others, enjoying time spent in company. "I'm glad to have run into you, however. I'm okay with just looking around though. Maybe we'll run into someone you know?"

GIDEON Sister? Well that was… curious. Adopted sister, of course, that much was made obvious by Thadeus’ own words, but, well, it was hard to imagine Nagisa adopting a kirin, of all children. Although Gideon did suppose that regardless of species, all children tended to be fairly similar, and quite harmless. Yes, some of the Flight rioters had been very young, always a sad sight, but it was not as if they were somehow predisposed to such evil and radical acts. It was just bad parenting and bad situations. With Nagisa raising this scaled creature, he could at least hope that no trouble would come of it.
“I am The Defender, Gideon. I serve Talori as her head of Security and Defense”, he explained fairly simply – not childishly so, but avoiding any deeper concepts, such as mentions of the Trinity. He did feel the slightest pang of guilt at speaking the title in the presence of Thadeus, however. Gideon knew there was really no need for such feelings – they all missed Thaumas, after all – but they all were aware that just a year or so ago, someone completely different would have spoken that title as their own. So much had changed. So much had been damaged, irreparably. Looking at these two children, who now did not have a father, was a very concrete reminder of that. That even here, amidst all these happy preparations, scars deeper than the body were worn and survived.
“Good that you are having fun then, and company”, he replied to Thadeus with a smile, choosing to pretend as if he had not noticed the unease. It felt fairer that way. Nothing good would come out of pointing it out.

Kalis - Young Filly - Shoal
Kalis watched in awe as Chantelle followed suit and took aim with her own balloon. The mare was enthusiastic about the whole endeavor and this made the event even more exciting for her! As far as festival went, this was possibly the best one she had ever experienced. Kalis couldn’t remember the last time she had so much fun. Giggling, she shot the mare a grin. “That was a lot of fun! You’re pretty cool, for a grown-up.” Pushing her glasses up his muzzle, they had fallen out of place again, Kalis’s ears perked. Turning in time to the hustle of the surrounding plaza. Somewhere out there was another perfect specimen, another unsuspecting foal, stallion, or mare. She couldn’t let the rest of her balloons go to waste! Kalis pushed her cart backward, dancing on the tip of her hooves. “See you around miss! I’ve got more fish to catch. If you ever meet my pa say hi, maybe he’ll let you visit sometime.” Assuming all adults everywhere knew each other, Kalis didn’t consider giving a name to who her pa was. No longer caring how much noise her little cart made, Kalis broke into a gallop, pushing forward in a wide loop. Only calling out apologizes as an afterthought, nearly running into another gathering of equines nearby. Dust and pebbles flying in her wake. As she passed, the pristine white coat of a beautiful mare caught her eye. White, marble white, like her father but flush with rosy color over stormy grey. Planting her hooves down firmly in front of her, Kalis skidded to halt. She had no idea if the mare had seen her or not but she simply could not let that white coat go by without a fresh splatting of color. Biting her lip, Kalis readied her aim. The first shot was clumsy and went wide. So, she reached for another. Gripped a balloon tightly with her Teke, and gave it her best shot. Swoosh.

The younger Kirin regarded the large stallion with a wary eye. But everyone here seemed friendly and willing and none seemed to treat her different. It hadn't been that long since she had regained her memories, her past life and even still she wished that her king had never broken through the barrier that kept them back. Head tilted a bit to glance once more over the unicorn, watching his form stand before them so calmly. Isykle made sure not to meet the others eyes, knowing that he was older and his rank still was that higher then theirs.
"It's nice to meet you." The young mare finally spoke with a subtle dip of her head. Now that she had a face, name and rank to the equine before her she began to relax, just slightly. Seeing that they had more pressing things to do or more people to speak too, the kirin looked down once more and spoke. "May our great mother bless you and all you do this day." Then she moved off with Thad to enjoy the rest of the goings on. The festival was so bright and lively.
Mother would be so proud.

"I agree, it's high time everyone gets a chance to simply live peacefully," Abinadi responds, smiling at the friendly bustle around them all. He listens as Daksh explains that he doesn't really know anyone here, that's perfectly fine. The councillor's sister is probably around selling her wares somewhere, perhaps even his father is out selling his mother's old brewing and agricultural tomes. They can go peruse around and see if they can find them.
"My sister is probably here selling some potions, or even my father, old as he is, could be here," Abinadi explains, walking down the street, "They'd be hard pressed to miss setting up for the Solstice Celebrations, I'd think." Abinadi chuckles, flicks a piece of his mane out of his eyes with his teke.
"But, they may have gone home already to get some rest. After all this is only the preparations, the celebrations themselves will be much bigger, I'm sure," Abinadi continues, motioning at the streamers flying gently in the wind overhead. "I'm excited for the real celebrations to start. It's a new chapter for us all..." He says lightly, tone becoming hopeful, happy at the thought of Talori's growth.
"You'll be coming to the celebrations, I hope?"

Sinclair recognized the filly from earlier as well as the devious, but concentrated look on her face. It was easy for her to imagine what was coming, especially after seeing Chantelle and Kalis playing earlier.
But, despite Sinclair noticing the first shot, by the time it fully registered, it was a little too late, and she was playfully reintroduced to the filly that had played alongside Chantelle earlier in the day. She gives a little shriek of surprise as the balloon of color explodes at her hooves, bathing her chest and legs in a bright, almost toxic-looking purple.
"You got me!" She says playfully, dancing out of reach of another balloon of color, scooping up one of her own pouches of color from her potion stand and tossing it back at Kalis's hooves, watching as it split open in a cloud of color not unlike Kalis's weapons. Her laughter was bright and inviting.
"Bet you can't hit me again," she taunted playfully, knowing that she'd let the filly splash her with paint again in a heartbeat, but not above making a game out of it.
