"With all due respect, your majesty, All known escape routes have been marked on maps and blueprints that myself and the other geminus were given to study, and no where within their pages was there any mention of a princess' maze..." Xyliana trailed off in absolute frustration. "This place, if unknown even to the most influential Talori officials, could be incredibly dangerous. With no records to speak of, this maze could just as easily be an ancient form of punishment." She shook her head in irritation. Her companions were acting like a bunch of utterly ridiculous foals! She listened in abject horror as the chatter continued, lighthearted and far too optimistic for the possibilities of what could lie ahead. Pawing at the ground with a single fore hoof, Xyliana reluctantly following behind the others who had already started down the right pathway. Remaining alert, she gingerly walked along the pathway, remembering the other pressure sensitive stones from before. One misplaced hoof could potentially lead to the death of the conparis, and that was not a risk Xyliana was happy to be taking. Word Count: 182 Post #7

The right path. The wrong path? The light flickers out as your group moves into the right pathway. As soon as you pass its threshold, a wall solidifies behind you. Your choice has been made. The darkness, however, dissipates. The passage you now find yourself in runs straight, seemingly forever. A few steps in and you can finally spot the end of the tunnel. It is a dead end. There appears not to be any other pathways branching away from the main tunnel you're currently inside. The wrong path. The right path?

Tzilia | Geminus | Mare
With the approval from the others, Tzilia no longer hesitated and found herself leading them towards the right pathway with quick strides. The darkness enveloped her, and the clattering of her own hooves against the old stone of the tunnel rang in her ears, invigorating her. It was like an adventure read from an old story book.
For the second time that day, Tzilia found herself at a loss of words, a gentle 'Oh' leaving her lips as she watched the wall behind them flicker into existence. Apparently the inscription earlier had been quite literal; there was no turning back now. And no going forward either, if the long, unbending hallway was any indication.
For the first time since they had uncovered the maze, an icy sensation of dread crawled along her spine. Xyliana's theory of the labyrinth being used as a punishment from long ago played within her mind, and at long last she was forced to confront the idea that perhaps charging head first into a completely unknown maze was not the brightest one. The realization seemed to matter little right now though, when the actions were already done.
"Do you see anything that might move?" Tzilia asked quietly as she stepped across the floor, memories of the previous entrances flooding her mind.
Her eyes darted to her companions momentarily before casting out her consciousness too, tapping into the innate power that had been given to her at birth. She wasn't sure if it would do them any good here, but casting her blessing outward, she sought to find even the faintest stirring of air; anything that might prove they were not locked within a vacuum, surrounded by dead ends.

Xyliana inhaled sharply as the passage behind her solidified, blocking their only way back. The hallway ahead was seemingly plain, without any true standout markers or other placards to lend a clue to what the groups next move should be. Shaking her head, she took a few more tentative steps forward, studying the walls, floor, and ceiling as she did. "Do you see anything that might move?" Tzillah's voice echoed softly in the corridor as she spoke. Xyliana shook her head, snorting softly as she began prodding the ground with her forehoof as she looked for a pressure sensitive stone among the stationary ones. ”Got any ideas? It’s probably better if we all work together rather than struggle trying different things. Maybe it’s another door? Like the ones we’ve been in?” Lydia's voice was the next to ring out in the hallway, followed closely by Faris's "It could be as easy as trying the wall. I also have astral projection, but I don’t think it would be much use when I’m not sure what I’m looking for. What do you wanna do Xyliana?”
The hippocampus pulled her head back up to look at the others, her ears still pinned against her skull as she did. "I think someone should check the walls for an intangible one or a potential weak spot that could be broken through, while the rest of us each pick an areas to look for anything out of the ordinary that could potentially be a trigger for an opening. If there's something to be found, we'll find it." She said matter of factly, her voice firm and unforgiving. While she was willing to work with the others, she was beyond tired of their shenanigans. It is Xyliana’s hooves that open your next door and likely so by chance. Even with the way she was feeling about, the odds of having three of her hooves on the proper stones are low, and yet, she did it. The wall at the end of the hallway opens up, the wall to your backs begins to grate against the floor, faster and faster, promising a painful death should it catch you under itself. You run, painfully fast, clustered together and terrified. You pass through the open wall and turn to see the wall to your backs slam into it, effectively sealing you inside. You turn to the new room. It is… a Dais… perhaps a clock, looking at it more carefully. There appears to have once been a grate in the ceiling that allowed the sun inside, but now all that lies above is rock. This room used to be visible from the surface, but has long since been sealed. There are other things as well, at the far side, there is a skeleton. Its head is propped up against the wall as if it had been begging, begging for deliverance. It has a sword and several daggers at its side. The clothing, mere tatters at this point, looks dirty and inexpensive. This horse is no princess, but you’re unsure of who it is. But, it is not the only one. There are a few other skeletons, most of them armed. There is one skeleton of a very small horse, one decorated in jewelry. As you look at it, a past image of it flickers to life and it looks up. “Of the six, four are holy, pick your sacrifices and lay them upon the Dais.” You look around. There are six skeletons in the room. See your discord chat for choices and come to a unanimous agreement about which six you will use.

Tzilia | Geminus | Mare
Tzilia wasn't entirely sure what caused the wall to shift in the end, but suddenly it appeared to be bearing down on them and she started forward with a snort of alarm. Her pace took on a rapid trot, intent on simultaneously not becoming caught by the shifting wall or outpace her companions.
The terrible screeching of stone grating against stone rang in her ears, consuming what little was left of her focus. At last the noise stopped, and Tzilia found herself skidding to a halt, breath coming in short bursts. It took a long moment before her mind cleared enough to pay much mind to their new surroundings, and when it did, Tzilia threw her head up in wonder, gazing at the room they found themselves in.
"Do you think this could have been an old burial crypt?" Tzilia asked in hushed awe, moving forward to investigate the skeleton that had first spoken with them.
Logic told her she should be terrified -how often was it that bones of the dead could speak again?- but despite the adrenaline that raced through her veins, heart daring to pound from her chest, she could not help but feel an intense sensation of reverence for whatever it was they had just stumbled across.
The skeleton had fallen silent, and Tzilia studied the unmoving, silent remains for a long moment before she was completely convinced they were not going to reanimate the moment she inched near.
"Well... I guess we have to move them," Tzilia spoke, her nose curling slightly with disdain at the thought of moving the long dead skeletons. Yet a searching glance around the room revealed no obvious signs of another doorway, or any method of escape. There didn't seem to be another choice; the skeleton had made itself rather clear. With slow, methodical motions she first approached the one that had spoken to them. It seemed whoever they had been had been of some significance, if they were chosen to speak to them, and the flicker of life seemed as about as holy as anything they had seen down there so far.

YOUR CHOICE IS WRONG. The spirits of three come to life, as they are all put into place on the dais. You watch the spirits seem to sigh. They were innocent of this maze. They ought not have died within it. It was due to the cruelty and foolishness of others that they were there anyways. Opal, the princess, had been chased into the gardens during a raid on the palace, centuries ago. You see her story play out in front of you. She looks at each of you and frowns. She seems forlorn, like she is missing something. Her spirit dissipates and the door where Ina’s skeleton had lain grates open minutely. Brudat’s spirit awakens and she looks at each of you with clarity. She smiles her thanks and is released from her tomb. June is the last to awaken, blinking away her tears with a brilliant smile on her face. She too is released like the others, her spirit free from the maze. As both of them whisk away, you look to the door. It is three quarters of the way open. You can probably slip under it if you’re careful. But, your attention is once again stolen. One of the spirits has not reappeared. The skeleton, Ina’s, reanimates. It turns to your group and gnashes its teeth. Four innocents and Ina is not one of them. Two skeletons, Teyashi and Cels remain still and undisturbed. One of them is the last innocent. The other is a trap. You should try and decide on one of them to drag onto the dais as well, all the while avoiding Ina’s maw. She is hateful and steps off of the dais, her jaws immediately seeking out Tzilia.
-
You have correctly guessed Opal, Brudat, and June. Ina is not a spirit that can be freed.
Ina can be subdued by a combined effort totaling 200 Strength and 100 Cunning. Or 200 Cunning and 100 Strength amongst yourselves. Y You have Cels and Teyashi to choose from.

Xyliana was already making towards one of the skeletons when Faris barked out his order, moving to Tzillah and Lydia's side in order to help fight off the vengeful spirit that besieged them. Grabbing the nearest one, she pulled it to the dial, hoping it was the right choice. The spirit had seemed the least malicious of the two, and she prayed it was a mark of his innocence. "Move!" She shouted as she pushed passed the others, arranging the skeleton in place before pulling the one belonging to Ina from the dial, shoving it roughly back to the place it had initially been found. Taking a step back to stand with the others, Xy found herself feeling incredibly thankful for her years of fighting off predators in the wilds. Planting her hooves firmly against the stone floor, her stance wide and low, she readied herself for an attack, preparing to lash out at the spirit should it get any closer. "Next time, how about we don't go rushing into dark tunnels unprepared." Xyliana hissed through her clenched teeth, shooting the other gemini a venomous glance. Tzilia | Geminus | Mare
Spirits coalesced into the air as the skeletons were dragged, one by one, to rest onto the dais. A soft exhale of relief accompanied each one as Tzilia watched as what was left of their life played by. She couldn't imagine having a soul trapped here for Gods' know how long; and it brought a slight smile to her muzzle as she watched them leave, hopefully to rest in Cascade's embrace at long last.
It had seemed they had chosen well, and Tzilia watched with relief as the door that had slammed shut behind them slowly grated open. With three spirits freed, it was nearly enough for them to slip away from the room,
Perhaps it was such confidence that was ultimately their downfall. The fourth, and presumably final, of the skeletons did not relinquish its grasp on the contained soul as easily, and Tzilia watched with growing horror as the bones assembled themselves into a standing position. Eyeless sockets turned to regard her, and for a split second she found herself frozen to the ground.
The skeleton lunged, and Tzilia wheeled, her hind hooves connected with bone in a sickening crack that echoed around the small room. If the newly resurrected skeleton was at all put off by the blow, they didn't show it, and Tzilia was forced to leap forward to avoid another snap of their jaws.
"Try the guard looking one!" Tzilia called out, frantically attempting to keep out of reach of the skeleton's jaws as the others rushed to aid her.
She realized she might be severely regretting that decision if a second skeleton was brought to life to terrorize them, but she wasn't sure wasn't sure of any alternative options.

LET THEM OUT. Using your combined strength and cunning to avoid Ina's jaws, even to shove the skeleton away from you when she swings to catch you between her teeth, has bought you time. Xyliana drags Cels onto the dais and suddenly, the room goes quiet. Ina screeches as she crumbles to the ground, her skeleton a mere skeleton once more. Cels glances over at each of you, his spirit judgmental, but ultimately proud of you. You turn back to the door once he dissipates. It is completely open, but as you watch, it begins to drop down, closing once more.
You look at each other and run through, Faris taking the lead. The small tunnel is claustrophobic, but ultimately the only way to go. The end of the tunnel has a muted brightness to it. As you near it, you recognize fabric. Faris pushes aside the tapestry as a bolt of lightning strikes the Temple.
As you all step out into the soft light of the candlelit Temple room, you gaze out into the eyes of children, a guardian, two clerics. Your eyes fall on Faris. Something has happened.

Cels has unlocked the door. Ina's skeleton has crumbled to the ground. Please enter Plot 705: Impressionable.
