Breim Open Faction Thread Please keep the following in mind!- Posts must be a minimum of 175 words. There is no maximum!- No strict order is enforced, but there must be at least two posts between your own character's.- No god-moding or reading characters' minds (unless your pony is a literal telepath, anyway) - Always get consent before harming another character!- Your team is precious. Try to interact with everyone. <3- Have fun! Even if your pony isn't. 8'D Prompt: The month following the strange surge of arcane energy throughout the tunnels has been chaotic at best. With rolling blackouts and unpredictable emotions, the equine residents Nariah have been managing the best they can. That said, they are not the only ones who have been affected by the change in arcane energy flowing through the tunnels. The arcane spirits that have long wandered the underground of Sirith have begun reacting to the change themselves, migrating to the epicenter of the explosion in Nariah. While usually docile, and only seen on rare occasions, these arcane spirits have become incredibly unsettled and are wreaking their own havoc on the already anxious Breimian citizens. Spirits are possessing inanimate objects, giving life to all manner of odds and ends, spooking Breimians, making messes, and just generally causing mayhem. To make matters worse, a few spirits even attempted to posses one of the teleportation pads, causing a massive malfunction as another surge of energy passed through the tunnels, connecting briefly with the teleporters in Sterling and ripping a few unsuspecting Kawaru straight through to Nariah. That said, enough is enough, and Umare from all over and even the few Kawaru ripped from sterling have decided to help try and manage the spirits. Location: Nariah ( Click Here for map of the city!) Time of Day: Mid-morning Current Weather: Summer showers gently trickle into the cavern through the skylight over the city center. Notes: While this thread does take place in Nariah, a malfunction with the teleportation pads, paired with an arcane surge, and a little tampering from some irritable spirits, Kawaru characters may also participate in this plot! This thread is open to all characters in the Breim Faction! You don't have to register to join in!

╬ ⧖ C A I V A R U S ⧖ ╬ "I didn't care if he was a genius or a fucking idiot, he was rotting away, and it wasn't fun to watch."
The first surge of foreign, arcane energy was enough to send them to their knees, screaming and wailing. But being teleported, ripped from the only location the two of them knew in this underground prison?
This left them crying. Or, at the very least, Varus was. Laying on the floor, shivering in front of the teleportation pad that had jerked them out of Sterling, into a location unknown to them, Varus refused to raise his head.
"We need to see where we are!" Caius hissed to him. "Look up!"
"No." Varus mumbled into the ground, tears running down his face.
"We don't know where we are, there could be enemies, you need to get up!"
Varus ignored him, wrapping their tail tightly around themselves. He could hear activity around them. Caius could too. But that made him afraid. He had seen how these underground equines had reacted to Kirins, heard of what the Umare did to them. If... If they were- If these were Umare around them- "We're going to get thrown away." He whispered desperately to Caius.
"No, we won't! If you get up and let me look around, I can tell you if we need to run or not!" Caius insisted, feeling, reaching, trying to wrench control of at least their head. He finally jerked control from Varus, forcing their head to lift, and he quickly looked around, trying to take stock of the situation before he lost control again. This didn't look very controlled. Chaos was everywhere, objects malfunctioning and living despite the fact they were not supposed to do so, spooked equines- And... Spirits. Things that- They- They'd never seen those.
"Varus. They have worse things to worry about then us." Caius said, staring at the chaos. "Get up."
"I don't want to. If- If we stay still, they might not see us-"
"GET UP." Caius boomed, finally earning a reaction from his companion, who startled and scrambled to their feet. "Good. We won't get in trouble if you stop drawing attention. Laying on the floor crying won't do us any good." Caius snapped, baring their fangs while wiping away the remnants of tears caught in their face scales. "We'll be okay, if you listen to me-" His voice died halfway through, the control of their head being lost to him.
"I... Caius- I don't know-" Varus whispered, tucking their tail between their legs.
"Stop whining! I know you're scared! We need to figure out where we are, and get out of this chaos! WE can't do that if you're too scared to take one step! If you move, and let me see, I can figure out what we need to do!" Caius snapped, his patience growing thin.
Varus hesitated, staring blankly at the chaos around them. "Alright." He finally agreed after what felt like a century.

Mateusz "You men are all the same Macho but cheap A load of wimpy unfaithfuls So predictable. No, I'm not sure that you deserve me You're lucky to be loved You should say 'thank you' to me."
Teu had been walking quite easily through the streets of Sterling, simply enjoying the quiet morning alongside the other early-risers. But as he stood up onto the teleportation pad to make his way back home, he immediately got the feeling that something was wrong. And sure enough, the stallion soon reached an unfortunate conundrum.
He still wasn't entirely used to the feeling of his body moving through a different plane, only to instantaneously appear in a designated location somewhere nearby. So he hardly batted an eye at the foreign feeling, but soon realized that there was indeed something wrong when it turned to discomfort. He hadn't a chance to regain his bearings though, when he was thrust into the unfamiliar streets of Nariah.
Dazed and confused, he looked around, squinting through blurry vision and immediately regret not bringing his glasses with him on his stroll. Things amongst the Umare seemed uneventful. But he didn't like it, his distaste for them being rubbed on from the other Kawaru he was constantly around. But from a few feet away he heard quiet muttering, and his ear flickered forward with immediate curiosity.
The short ex-Aodhian immediately recognized the shape of a kirin, despite their lack of an impressive rack. They were talking to themselves, though it was difficult to decipher under the hum of civilization around them. But in his time in Aodh he grew familiar with the resurrected children of Ignacio, and he felt pressed to approach. He knew how poorly Breimian's treated the kirin, particularly the Umare. His voice cut gently through the tense air of confusion around them. "Are you alright?" he called, pushing himself to his hooves--he hadn't realized he had fallen--and took a careful step forward. "I don't suppose you know what's going on? I... came from Sterling." He frowned at his own words, the reverb from his questioning making him feel as alien as the day he arrived in Breim.

Sile;Breim | Appretince
... This is not real right?, this must be a nightmare, this is madness! I must have gone mad and imagine this is really happening..this must be it...but everyone must have gone mad as well and see the same things i do..wich is hilariously improbable...a bad joke. A bad joke i say!
Sile shakes her head trying to break the fast overreacting chain of thoughts before it went to far.She almost could feel her head burst with pain from the stress and the overthinking about the situation her home is dealing with right now.She grinds her teeth with the strong urge to slam her hoof against the ground out of pain, and anger. But she doesn't.. its enough with the problems around, she doesnt want to cause more heself. Wich from the previous delightfully suprising events are not helping at all, her teke going wild and the overwhelming emotion of sorrow and guilt make her tears run down her cheeks like water springs. So strong its almost to the point where she could fall on her knees and pray for forgivness like a beaten dog even though its not her fault.
I'm so sorry. Argus. Please forgive us.
The mare has been walking through the madness of the croud for a while ,her head slightly lowered her vision blurry from the tears. With a high change to bump ino others. Her parents have been requested with great emergency by their work place to help deal with the chaos. Her mother with the other maids trying their best to keep a hold of the mess the spirits are causing, while her father is making sure the foals and some of the elders are safe.
They suggested her to just stay inside and be safe despite her stubborn attempts to go along them and help, she remained. Not for much long though as Sile had to literally sprint out of there, with the spirits messing around it isn't a very good idea to stay alone in a room that has sharp and dangerous objects..And she swore she saw in the corner of her eye the scrissor started moving-
So here she was, into the chaos, though as much as she'd love to just dig herself a hole and hide till everything's getting back to normal, she has the urge to try and help.Others would most likely wont even stop for a secong to read her sign language in all this chaos..but ey if her parents can do it, she can too...right?
-SLAM-
...
Sile stopped in shock, horror, starring at the place just a few steps away from where she was to look at the wall and the smashed wards of glass as some object was forcefully slammed into the wall near her. Just a few more steps and i could've get.. After what felt like hours of starring as it she slowlly turned her head to where the object came from to be greeted with the presence of more possesed inanimate objects. She's been so much into her thoughts she didn't notice the other horses making a great distance between themselves and this area.
Without realising what gotten into herself..call it the arcane side effect ,she gave those spirits a stern ''are you serious'' look. But quickly to break and be replaced with fear and panic to realise what she just did and without wasting any time she dashes at her full speed foward silently screaming appologies to the spirits, not thinking she might bump like a train into someone.

╬ ⧖ C A I V A R U S ⧖ ╬ "I didn't care if he was a genius or a fucking idiot, he was rotting away, and it wasn't fun to watch."
"Are you alright?"
The two of them jumped, Varus looking over his shoulder at the approaching voice. A unicorn. Varus' initial response was one of fear, trembling, staring at the approaching equine blankly, expecting some sort of hatred to come from their lips.
But they heard a familiar word. Sterling. The closest thing to a home the two of them had in this unfamiliar place.
"W...We came from Sterling..." Varus weakly said, taking one step towards them. Caius wasn't protesting against the decision yet. It might be safe. "W-We... I don't- We just got teleported when we- We passed by one of the pads... And now we're... Here." Varus nervously glanced around. His lips were growing dry, and he longed for the taste of opium. But his drugs weren't here. They were in Sterling. Caius had forced them to get up, to walk, to keep their muscles from atrophying.
If only he had his drugs. Then... Then he would feel better.
"Stop it. I can feel the craving. That is the last thing we need right now." Caius growled in their head. "We need our head to be clear, our body to be responsive. We can't be addled by substances!"
Varus whimpered softly. "It would make me feel better..." He whispered lowly.
"It wouldn't make ME feel better! Later! I hate that shit, you know it, but you can't have it right now!" Caius snapped. "Hold on-"
Once more he pushed, wrenched, and fought for control. Grabbing onto it, their head jerked higher, brows furrowing, gaze hardening, the look of a soldier replacing that of the fearful Kirin. Their stance grew wider, their tail lashing, and their lip curled to show their teeth. "We have no idea what is going on. The one speaking before is named Varus." Their voice grew slightly deeper now. One of the few things to show the shift. "I am Caius. Like he said, we got teleported when passing one of the pads. We don't know this place, or... What's going on. I can't speak for long, Varus can speak for me, if he chooses to let my words known. We're just as confused as you ar-" And like that, they reverted back.
"Stop it... I-I don't like it when you do that..." Varus mumbled, staring at the ground.
"You won't bother talking properly to anyone, and this is someone from Sterling! He's our best chance of staying safe and getting back! You need to talk to him, or at least translate my words for him!" Caius snapped. He hated his lack of control. He was needing to claw to just get three sentences out, and it was a miracle he'd been able to get control twice in one day now. He wasn't sure he could do it again.

Mateusz "You men are all the same Macho but cheap A load of wimpy unfaithfuls So predictable. No, I'm not sure that you deserve me You're lucky to be loved You should say 'thank you' to me."
His eyes widened ever so slightly, white ring in his eyes dilating in an attempt to focus between the change in the kirin. This he had heard of, even interacted with a kirin with the same shared body as the one before him. But as soon as his surprise appeared it was quickly gone, and his expression returned to its cool and neutral state. "Reassuring to know," he mumbled under his breath, turning his eyes away with a frown.
He listened to Caius' words with an intuitive ear, then turned back to look at him. It took him a few moments to think of what to say that would come across as either calming or knowing.
"Varus is here with me, yes?" Teu lowered his head, an attempt to come across as less threatening to the other. "I'm Mateusz. Long for Teu. I'm from Aodh, but I've been here long enough to know the current laws with the kirins in Nariah." He began looking around, clearly keeping a careful watch for the unfortunate stallion there with him. He felt great sympathy for him. Neither asked to be in Breim, share a body, and now get thrust into a kirin-hating society in a matter of seconds. "We both need to get back to Sterling. Find another teleportation pad or something. I don't think I can stand being here for another minute."
Teu looked up, meeting the timid gaze that seemed to be Varus', searching for some sign of approval. Whilst he would've loved to have the other with them, he supposed having the more wary of the two have control in favor of keeping to the Breimians' good side.
"Is that alright?"

... Run. That's all the mare thought at the moment as she tried to make as much distance as she could between herself and the what looks like now even more upset spirits who threw other objects towards her, despite Sile's useless silent appologies, luckily she managed to dodge them.
Sadly leaving behind wreckage and upset horses behind her.
''Hey!'', ''Watch were your going!'' the horses screamed as she made her way through the croud, trying her best to dive her way foard without crashin into others, she couldn't stop yet, not till Sile made sure she was safe
.And stoping in a middle of a pissed off crowd isn't a very safe place to be.
Her heart beats fast, frantic thoughts filling her mind and the blurry vision makind it hard to see. As she was running, she made the terrible mistake to turn just for a few seconds to look back and check if the danger is still following, seems it's not.
She turned back and everything felt like in slow motion, her eyes open wide already regreting her decision, looking at the poor unknowing horse...unicorn?.. just a few inches away from them to colide, she tried to stop or at warn them, but it was to late.
Sile knocks them over but doesnt stop, making herself do a roll and land on the ground endind with a small slide.Silence It felt like hours but she managed to rise her head slightly dopping and rolling it a few times, to dizzy to keep it straigh.Everything spins. Sile is trying to sign language appologies to the other with her hoofs barely able to make any understandable word. She lies on the ground, but slowlly tries to make her way back up without falling.
Totally not seeying the kirin for the moment ''I'm so, sowrry, i ddn't ment to..ough...''

╬ ⧖ C A I V A R U S ⧖ ╬ "I didn't care if he was a genius or a fucking idiot, he was rotting away, and it wasn't fun to watch."
The reaction was honestly better than anything they both expected. Whoever this was, he just... Accepted it. It was surprising to both of them.
Varus flinched as his head was lowered into his line of sight. He still couldn't trust him- Did he say... Aodh? "A...Aodh?" He asked carefully. "We're... We were... Before we..." He tried to say, finding himself bewildered at the fact they had run into an Aodhian.
"It's been hundreds of years since we were Aodhians, Varus. Look at him. He's a unicorn. Whatever Aodh was, it's not that anymore. Why else would Soleil have made a call to eradicate heretics from our home?"
Varus pinned his ears. "S-Shut up. You were just saying we could trust him, now you're calling him a heretic?" He hissed quietly, hoping that the unicorn wouldn't overhear. He cautiously lifted his head. "We'd like to return to Sterling too... We... Don't even know what this place is..." He swallowed thickly. "We've... Only been in Sterling."
The search for approval was met with a bit of an eager nod. "Yes... Please." Varus said, taking a step closer.
Then there was a clatter of hooves and an impact in front of them, that sent them scrambling back, a small squeal leaving their throat. Heart pounding, breathing erratic, Varus stared down at the pile of equines. "W-Wh-"
"Can you not scream at anything unexpected?! Man the FUCK up, Varus!" Caius snarled. He hated the screaming. He couldn't plug his ears, run away from the noise. It was his own throat making the noises, his own ears he heard it with. But he couldn't get away from it.
Varus flinched, tucking his head slightly, with a growing itch to claw at his own flesh to avoid the shame and uncomfortable feelings washing over him. Still, he crept closer. One step, two steps. "Are you... Alright...?" He asked, his limbs trembling, ready to carry him away at the slightest sign of trouble. He knew that the unicorn was from Sterling, from Aodh. But this... This new one... He didn't know.

Mateusz "You men are all the same Macho but cheap A load of wimpy unfaithfuls So predictable. No, I'm not sure that you deserve me You're lucky to be loved You should say 'thank you' to me."
Teu had made an attempt to listen in on the conversation the two had with each other, though having only heard the tiny bits and pieces from what Varus said he had little context. "Yes- Aodh." The name of the herd tasted bitter on his tongue. "It's gone to shit, and I don't belong there." He huffed, the motion brushing his forelock from his coal-black eyes. "But tha-"
Whatever words that were making an attempt to pass his lips were suddenly interrupted by the wind being knocked out of him. Someone or something had collided into him, and had his eyes not been locked on Caivarus he would've expected the kirin to have done it. It would make sense, after all. But as he looked around, his teeth bared and ready to snap he saw the meshed stallion standing in surprised silence a few feet away.
Once his bearings were regained he looked for the culprit, mouth agape and ready to fire an angered response. "Watch it-!" he snapped, catching sight of the stuttering, flimsy mare laying nearby. Anger quelled to mere brooding irritation, and he stomped a hoof. He looked over his shoulder as the other stud spoke up, giving the blood bay to relax a little more. He really needed to get back to Sterling now.

... She was about to rise up, but quickly shrinks back down almost to her knees feeling scared by the menancing unicorn's response.Sile looks at the grownd lookind down for a bit, feeling ashamed that she was somewhat scolded as if she was a foal..and with her tears running down her cheeks it really doesn't help the image.
She wanted to say its not her fault..but in truth it is, she should have been more careful.
Sile peeks up from the ground to see the unicorn looks away, she doesn't follow their gaze, thus gave her enough time to get back on her trembling feet, hoping that next time he turns to her he won't snap at her.
Oh how humiliating its just as if she never walked before, it trully is a scolding of a foal isn't it.Today is a nice day.
Rising up at her height and looking over the other doesn't seem to make him as scary as she thought..though his anger is way scarier than his height, she let her head lowers both out of shame and hoppefully the other will se as, respect.
The mare was about to speak again but quickly jolts at the sound of a hoof being stomped against the groun. Oh he really is angry...Maybe they are more angry at the events around here..?.do i hope so.
She waits a little, and tries again ''i..am terribly sorry, i didn't meant to, i assure my intent was not to harm you or your firen-'' Sile thought its useless to sign to him since he turned way but as she was signing her eyes slowlly traced over the other enquine and freezes in her tracks. Finally seeying them. O h
A kirin?! here?I must have hit my head so hard i'm seeying things.
She shakes her head and blinks a few times as if this would help her, and looks back at them. This is real. Her eyes wide up in fear and a very light spec of awe at the other equine. She had to control herself to not say ''woah''.The rational part of her screamed a her to stop starring and get away from them as fast as possible..while..the other wanted to get close and see him better and ask a thousand questions about them, for its the first time she sees a real kirin, with her own eyes, this close!. No stop it, and stop sarring!.
''..you two don't seem from around here..'' Of course they don't you stupid. She shakes her head again trying to calm down her thoughts. ''please excuse the Nariah mess it usually isn't so...low on spirits'' Sile had to control herself to not give a snort from the joke, its a serious matter..but can you blame her for trying to ease the tension. ''..are you alright?'' Sile asked them both but a little more to the trembling kirin.. Shouldn't they be less...trembly?..

╬ ⧖ C A I V A R U S ⧖ ╬ "I didn't care if he was a genius or a fucking idiot, he was rotting away, and it wasn't fun to watch."
The bared teeth and aggressive posture halted their progress immediately, the kirin shrinking back some.
"Don't you dare curl up on the ground again. Stay standing. We may need to run." Caius firmly told Varus, probing for control only to be met with nothing.
Varus expected a hit or an attack based on such a reaction. The fact it didn't come was a small blessing. They hadn't done anything to the unicorn? Varus looked to the other equine. Did... Did he think that they had hit him? But...
The snapping, even though it wasn't directed at them, made Varus flinch, and his tail curled around one back leg with a soft clattering rattle of scales on scales. He lowered his head, almost touching his chest.
"Varus. Don't." Caius was a bit more gentle now, knowing what Varus wanted to do now. It was what he did when he was faced with stress. "Varus, please, not now. I can't help us if we're already injured."
Varus stood staring at their chest, numb to most of the noise around them, only listening to Caius in his head. He couldn't tune him out, after all. He opened his mouth, giving his skin a light brush with his sharpened teeth.
"Varus! Stop! Please!" Caius tried again. He was a warrior, he wasn't afraid of pain. But feeling pain he could do nothing to stop frightened him.
The kirin stood still, their sides heaving.
"Are you alright?"
Head jerking up, Varus stared at the questioner, nostrils flaring lightly. No... He wasn't. They weren't in Sterling, they didn't know how to get back, they almost got hurt for something they didn't do-
"Varus. Breathe." Caius tried, his tone softening. "Just in and out. Just breathe... Just like if you're smoking your pipe."
Varus quivered, but he sucked in a harsh breath through his mouth, just like Caius told him to. He held it for a moment, exhaling heavily, before drawing in another. His heartbeat slowed some, and gradually, his sides stopped heaving.
"There you go. Good job." Caius said. That was close...
"T...Thank you, Caius..." Varus mumbled lowly. "...We're... Okay... Could be better..." Varus finally replied quietly, softly.

Mateusz "You men are all the same Macho but cheap A load of wimpy unfaithfuls So predictable. No, I'm not sure that you deserve me You're lucky to be loved You should say 'thank you' to me."
Teu's next arsenal of words were just about to fire out at the pale girl, when his attention was abruptly tugged away as she realized the presence of a kirin before her. Teu took a subconscious step forward in front of Caivarus, still shooting daggers at her.
"We aren't from here," he replied, his voice clipped and clearly hostile. Mateusz was now worried. An Umare had seen not only him, but a kirin pop up in the midst of the town. His weakened teke couldn't do much to stop her from running off to report them, but he had every intention of tackling her down if he needed to. But, judging by the looks of it, that was unnecessary. "Leave them alone."
He took another step forward, this time clearer as his tail lashed from side to side, like a cat ready to leap on its prey. The chain of events seemed to leave the older male tensed, guarded. Teu was quick to react, his cool attitude deflating with each passing second. Still, he was able to formulate a few questions.
"Why were we teleported to Nariah? What's going on?" He squinted his eyes, previously-relaxed irises now visibly shrinking as the white rings in them contracted. "Who was chasing you?"

Sile;Breim | Appretince ... Sile looks suprised, shocked and intrigued at the kirin as if he was alien. The moment she saw him trying to bite himself she wanted to step in and stop him, she saw the bits of bite marks and could only assue it was his doing. The mare felt pity for the other but thought it would be for the best to not get close or say anything ,seeying how much uncomfortable the kirin is with her presence. She gave him an understanding nod.
However the calmness was not to last, the unicorn stepped in protetcively between them and demanded to leave the kirin alone as if she was threatening him. That made Sile a little upset with his tone but appologised anyway ''i'm sorry, i didn't mean to upset them''
Just as fast the unicorn stepped in so did his questions, stepping towards her aggresively, demanding answers. As much as the mare wanted to push back to show the other this is no proper way of obtaining informations..even more rude when they might have no idea where they are be damned her frightened self she quickly takes a step back and lowers herself closer to the ground.
He wouldn't hurt someone who didn't hurt him back.....at least not intentionaly...right?
Sile decided to answer his question though she needed a second to calm down so she could for proper understandable signs.
''everything is in chaos since of the rumors of the great crystal has shatered,it seems it affects the spirits just as bad as the citizens ..they started possesing inanimate objects and turned this city into a wreckage''
She took a quick break before continuing ''they seems to have caused a malfunction to the teleporters and teleport like crazy anyone near them..some kawaru and our people are trying to calm them down...''
And she answers the last of his question,he doesn't seems like he would care of her well being but oh well ''...i..ran for my life, i almost got heavily hurt..sharp objects, many sharp objects..the spirits have never been so unsettled......''Sile shivers at the though of her own head being smashed into that wall.'' i'm afraid you wouldn't be able use the teleporters to return for now, its to dangerous''

Ari
The sounds of other horses in the distance echoed off of the tunnel walls as Ari quietly peered from the shadows, worry threatening to overtake the poor creature as he stumbled out into the open, ears flicking back and wings shivering. The young colt had taken to the tunnels, the overload of emotions that had flooded him had originally been too much for him to handle.
And so he had fled, only to get hopelessly lost in the process. Sure, he had been okay with being in the shadows for a little bit, but eventually new concerns had started to creep in. What was he going to eat? How would he survive if his mother wouldn't find him? All of them were enough to eat at the poor thing's stomach, making him feel queasy.
The voices were a bit of a relief, even if it was hard to determine exactly what was going on from... all the racket. Slowly, the small child made his way in that direction, hoping to find out what was going on... and maybe get a sense of where home was.
Maybe they could deal with the spirit things that had been causing so many problems? That was why he had hidden in the first place. The odd creatures had scared him so bad that he had bolted... only to realize that he wasn't exactly sure how to get back home.
"W-who's there?" He called after a few minutes of silent walking, working his way to round a corner towards the... group that was now talking. "W-what's going on? Is it the sp-spirits again?"
Nothing. The foal frowned, wary of what was going on. Where were the voices coming from? Was he close to the city?

Tavius;Breim | Ties
"I'm not sure what's happening... but it scares me" Of course it had been when Tavius had worked up the courage to leave his Family home that he’d hear rumours about the things that had previously chased one of his cousins. He didn’t really like how eerie everything was in the maze of the housing quarter, but he’d left the area happily enough and without any concerning encounters… bar the odd feeling that he was being watched. Tavius unconsciously ducked his head a little further underneath his cloak, brows lowering as he quickened his step – labradorite hooves moving swiftly against the cobbled ground. He felt so on edge, and his eyes closed tightly as he moved into a trot. He didn’t like it… he thought he was okay to be out, and Himeko had told him he had to go and do something otherwise she’d be displeased with his lack of motivation to leave the building, and Tavius didn’t intend on annoying her any more than he already had. That led him to this predicament, where he was trotting away from an unseen danger that he thought he was being chased by. If he admitted to himself that it was because of the atmosphere of everything around him, then he would only be partially right. He slowed down as he walked past a pair of older mares that were talking amongst themselves, not wanting to seem suspicious, but he heard them talking about how one supposedly had seen a ghost and he shivered – ears pinned as he took a sharp breath. He didn’t like the sound of that at all… he didn’t think that things were that scary outside, but by Argus he seemed to be wrong. Gaze lifting once more, after he turned a corner, he broke into a gentle trot once more. He didn’t like the feeling of loneliness that he felt, but he didn’t feel like going back to his home. Leaving Nariah at this point in time would be ridiculous… the Watch were probably preoccupied, if the rumours about the ghosts were true, and the less he thought about that the better.
At the sound of voices, multiple, Tavius stepped around one more corner into a slightly more open space, seeing three individuals talking. One, he recognised. Sile wasn’t an individual he saw often, but he was glad to see a familiar face at least. Tavius was confused to see the mare nonetheless, but the presence of the other two when he paid attention to them surprised him even more. A unicorn like himself, quite stunning he noticed silently, and a… heavily scaled being that seemingly was in the midst of panicking. A… dare he think? Was that a Kirin…? His eyes lowered as quickly as they’d lifted, knowing that he was being rude by looking at them for an uncomfortable amount of time. Out the corner of his eye he saw another figure approaching the group, like he was, and he swallowed thickly – shifting his stance a little as he let the cloak fall away from his face. “Sile? The ghosts are real…?”

Mateusz "You men are all the same Macho but cheap A load of wimpy unfaithfuls So predictable. No, I'm not sure that you deserve me You're lucky to be loved You should say 'thank you' to me."
He seemed to have just heeded the last of her words when he heard the shuffling, movement alerting him to oncoming equine. Sure enough, the sounds of worried voices shook through the walls of the cavern. Tucked away by the rocky ledge he was unable to see who or what had arrived, but he counted several voices.
Teu's body went rigid, evaluating the situation in a matter of seconds as his fight-or-flight senses threatened to kick in. Dark eyes shifted to Caivarus. But as a trained smuggler he knew how to hide, what to say and most importantly how to divert the eyes away from suspect. He took a defensive pose, head lowered as soon the two Sterling-goers were surrounded.
His head raised, neck craning over the back of the taller scaled stallion as a hooded figure arrived, seeming to drive a conclusion to the Umare's sputtering questions. His eyes narrowed, making him appear not unlike a threatened cobra, ready to jump out at a moments notice.
"It seems you have more important matters to attend to," he replied, his ears scooping back to pin against his neck. A silent snarl tugged at his lips, but he still had yet to lose his cool (other than when he was crashed into). Hardened gaze flickered to who appeared to be the weakest or at least easiest to intimidate, the pale spotted horse who stuttered wavering inquiries. "We are returning to Sterling now. Leave us and I will depart peacefully." A tilt of his head and he was looking back at Caivarus, then his gaze went quickly back to the mare he was previously talking to. "We just need a map."

╬ ⧖ C A I V A R U S ⧖ ╬ "I didn't care if he was a genius or a fucking idiot, he was rotting away, and it wasn't fun to watch."
Varus watched Mateusz. Stepping in front of them, even making a threat to the other to tell them to go away... A unicorn... A non kirin... Doing that...
"The hell is he doing..."
"...I don't know..." Varus replied lowly. But... Regardless, it helped settle his nerves slightly. But the news of the teleporters being down was worrying. Like they'd want to use it again in the first place... It could take them someplace new again. Someplace even farther. Where... Where there may not be a unicorn who is willing to help them.
"No teleporters... Please..." Varus asked weakly. He had a growing desperation to stay close to Mateusz, he was the only form of... Safety that they had... The teleporters could separate them from him, and they'd be in deeper problems. Ears flickering, the scaled equine's head lifted, hearing another approach. They crept slightly behind Mateusz in a weak attempt to conceal their scales.
His scales... His scales had been much more subtle... Only a light line along his neck and back... Varus whimpered softly. Caius, his scales, they made it so difficult. An entire back end covered in hard, gleaming, brightly colored scales.
He noticed the glance Mateusz spared him, and he met his gaze for a short moment. Lips parting, Varus put in a weak, whispered plea, "W-We just... Want to leave... Please..." He almost added more, almost added a plea for him to not be locked up. But his lips shut forcefully.
"Stay quiet. This isn't our territory. Stop showing weakness." Caius sharply told him, being able to wrest control of their lips just enough to keep Varus quiet.
Another quiet whimper left their throat, and Varus lowered his head, tucking their tail between their legs.
"You show weakness, and they will prey on it, like a starving wyvern. Stop. If you can't lift your head high, just keep your mouth shut, and stay back." Caius continued, losing control again. Still, he was relieved that Varus simply listened and stayed quiet. This wasn't good. They were getting outnumbered. And while the attitude of Mateusz seemed like someone who may know how to fight, Caius wasn't convinced. And he couldn't keep control for long enough to fight against this many.
And Varus had to be a damned scholar. Had he gotten merged with a fellow hoplite, maybe things would be better. But it had to be a scholar. He kept the bitterness to himself, not wanting to set Varus off farther.

Sile;Breim | Appretince
... Everything about this unicorn seemed demanding,confident..scary.If he wouldn't have been so.. hostyle and defending towards her she would have asked for advices how to put off such aura.At the gravity of the situation she wanted almost to laugh at them, acting as if she was some kind of big trained horse who could attack them, please she can't even hurt a mice even if she wanted to,and she doesn't,she kept the laugh inside not wanting to make this even more tense.
She follow's the unicorns gaze when another voice was heard, and she couldn't help it but feel a weird mix of happiness and worrynes not knowing if the new presence if going to be also threatening to her..or friendly.Sile squints hereyes as the figure lowers the cloak to find..Oh what a joy! its a friend..Well not exactly, they didn't got time to know each other so well to be friends.Sile smiled towards the familiar stalion, either way it was a relief to see a friendly face.Maybe he could help her deal with these..very unhappy folk.
She quickly turns back at the unicorns words with a suprised and upset face as if he just slapped her over the face. The presence of Tavius made her gather a little move courace to rise up and she felt like she could for once stay up to her height and keep a little more serious face. ''excuse me but..that would be a horrible mistake, you do not seem to have any suplies,..no food, no water, with any luck it barely makes 28 days on foot...i am willing to help with that..but i cannot force you to accept it if you don't want'' Despite her more calm and confident image Sile was loosing it inside yet she forces herself to ignore the need to just crawl up in a hole.
The kirin seems just as unhappy as she's trying to hide, its crazy she is scared of them when they on their own seem just as scared of Sile.
That little confidence was boosted by the damned curiousity, and as good and creative one can get from that, curiousity is just as a blessing as its a curse..and the mare was just so curious to see Sterling...she wants to help these two she trully does, but call her selfish for also wanting to see more than Nnariah..Hopefully the other kawaru would be more..friendly?..but sadly a part of her knows they won't..and Sile can't blame them. Will they try to hurt her?

Tavius;Breim | Ties
"I'd like to help them," More important matters… He was right, and Tavius nodded gently to the aggravated unicorn, but when he mentioned Sterling the stallion lifted his head sharply, looking at Mateusz and blinking lightly as Sile spoke, his ears flickering lightly. The stallion that the unicorn was protecting seemed to have calmed a little, which made Tavius glad to see… he felt sad upon seeing the nerves in the other, but when Sile finished speaking he smiled gently and looked between Caivarus and Mateusz. They seemed so on edge… which he understood, given the long conflict between the Kawaru and Umare. He wasn’t sure how to settle their nerves, but Tavius would help them if allowed to do so. He didn’t move from where he was stood, but he looked in a certain direction. “Sile is right, it would be a long distance to travel if you wanted to walk if the teleportation pads aren’t working then it might be easier to… but the tunnels aren’t always safe, much less so with the ghosts here as well. I’m… not doubting your capability, I just wouldn’t want you to get hurt.” His gaze moved once more to Caivarus, before he bowed his head a little in a soft nod. As he nodded he slipped off the cloak and removed the small nuummite brooch keeping it in place, lifting the fabric with wobbly and fluctuating teke. “If you’d like my cloak, you’re welcome to it…” And at that the stallion trailed off, ears flickering lightly in indecision before lifting his voice again. “I’m sure they’ll be working on trying to repair the teleportation pads again, so would it be worth waiting for a little while? If you explain your situation… maybe when everything calms down you’ll be able to request for a Warden to help you return,”

Ari
Quietly making turning around, the talking continued, giving the young Pegasus plenty of reason to believe he was much closer to home than he had originally anticipated. Maybe he wasn't as lost as he thought he was? Rounding another corner, he tried spying the group he heard echoing through the tunnels, his stomach flipping as he realized that there was still nothing there.
"Anybody hear me?"
He called, feeling more than just a little confused. This was infuriating; he should've known better than to just get spooked by the first set of weird things happening. What would his mom do if she found out he had gotten himself lost? A moment of panic flared through the child as he considered the consequences of his actions, his hooves picking up the pace against the hard stone ground as he continued onward.
"H-help." His words didn't come out as much more than a hoarse whisper as he thought about calling out louder. "T-the spirits spooked me. W-what's going on."
Why was he such a scaredy cat? Were the voices getting closer this time? He sure hoped so... he wanted to go home and forget about all this mess.

With mummy and daddy away somewhere there wasnt much to do, her grandparents were boring and just wanted tea and to tell stories but her brother wasnt, she wanted to play with her big brother!. Ayako had followed him straight out of the house and into the city, her small legs and little wings barely able to keep up as he ran towards the tunnels without ever even realizing she was there. She chased after him though and after some time a tiredness set in, before she knew it Ari was nowhere in sight and tears started to well up in her eyes as she wandered forward without her big brother She hadnt been alive long enough to have really learned any words, she had only come into existence afew months ago and now she was lost and alone with no brother in sight. Ayako cried out now, tears spilling down her tiny cheeks as she searched for someone, anyone who could help her, she wanted her mother and father, she wanted her big brother and most of all she just wanted to go home!

Mateusz "You men are all the same Macho but cheap A load of wimpy unfaithfuls So predictable. No, I'm not sure that you deserve me You're lucky to be loved You should say 'thank you' to me."
Teu stifled another snarl building up on his lips, and he began to retreat. Hard hooves sliding over the sleek stone surface. He bumped into Caivarus as he did so, causing him to jump and lash out his tail.
"We'll do just fine on our own," he said stiffly, looking over his shoulder at the kirin being offered a disguising cloak. "We've only just met. Sterling is nearly a month's travel and I think you Umare would like to stick to your familiar grounds."
The unicorn's hair seemed to stand on end. There had to be another reason they wanted to join. This was abnormal for them, at least from what he had heard from the other Kawaru. They, the people of Nariah, didn't want anything to do with their rebellious counterparts.
"I'm a skilled fighter and Caivarus is a kirin. Judging by the looks of it, you lot would only hold us back." Teu started to turn away, when he heard the sound of youthful voices sounding from nearby. He cursed under his breath, undoing his scarf whilst muttering complaints beneath his breath. "Here." The shaking teke offered the garment to the other Sterlinger beside him, something to at least offer a bit of coverage had the bubbling kids chose to run their mouths or draw any more attention.

╬ ⧖ C A I V A R U S ⧖ ╬ "I didn't care if he was a genius or a fucking idiot, he was rotting away, and it wasn't fun to watch."
The tunnels... They had heard from the Breimians around them that the tunnels were dangerous to travel through without a guide... It did seem... Easy to get lost in such a place. Tattered ears twitching, Varus cautiously turned his head, gaze meeting woven fabric. Lifting, he looked to the one offering it. Wh... Why?
Still, they shakily, carefully reached out, grasping the cloak and drawing it to them. Varus slowly put it around their shoulders, fastening it and pulling it into place. It wasn't perfect...
"We shouldn't need to hide our scales..." Caius grumbled lowly.
"Y...You said we needed to be careful..." Varus, on the other hand, was somewhat pleased about their scales being hidden away. The teal color patterning their hindquarters only brought him shame and a sick feeling in his stomach. In their stomach.
"I did. But we still shouldn't need to hide what we are... I don't understand this place... We should just go to Eithne, to the Kirin city. We'd fit in there better, there might be friends or family too."
Varus hastily shook his head, tucking it between his front legs. "No. No. We-We won't fit in. We can't fit in like this. No one should see us." He whispered. There were new equines. They didn't know about him and Caius. He didn't want more to know. "C-Caius, we can't go."
"But maybe we could find someone there who could help us! Who might know about what to do!"
"Caius, NO." Varus barked, a bit more strongly, his voice cracking. He couldn't bare to face anyone from his past. If his parents... If his brother... He couldn't look them in the eyes. Not with a face like this. With a body like this.
Caius let out a hissed curse in their mind, but went silent now. Standing, breathing a bit heavily, His head shot up at the young voices. More. More were coming. Why were there more? Teal and purple flickered to the scarf, and Varus tentatively took it from Mateusz. "...T...Thank you..." Varus said softly, quickly wrapping it around their neck to farther hide the scales which trickled up the base of their neck.
"...T-They want to bring in a warden... Isn't that the authorities?" Varus nervously asked Mateusz in a low voice.

It was cold and scary and no matter how hard she tried Ayako just couldnt keep the tears from spilling down her cheeks as she cried out into the dark emptiness. She couldnt find her brother, her grandparents were far far away and honestly, her parents were even further away then that. She wandered helpless through the tunnels, tail tucked between her legs as she sobbed quietly to herself, hooves clacking ever si quietly against the rough stone floor. Her ears swiveled at all the noises and her tiny body shivered as she shook herself, it seemed pretty hopeless, lost and alone in those caverns by herself As she wandered her ears pricked, the barely audible voices of other equines far ahead. It gave her hope and she picked up the pace, downy wings flapping quickly as she raced towards the sounds. She stopped dead in her tracks at the sight before her. So many strangers, many many strangers and a horse who was blood red! She squeaked, loudly, and shrunk a little, slowly backing up a bit away from the sight

Sile;Breim | Appretince ... Just as quickly as the confidence came it as quickly disappeared, the mare looked back down at the ground. She didn't want to show it to bad but on her face could be seen tracks of hurt, while inside she could really feel it by his words..even though there isn't any cruel words the unicorn made sure to say it in a poisonous manner...dare she sense a slight track of..mocking??. But that could really be the effects of the arcane energy.
Sure many of the umare wouldn't dare to set a hoof out of their home. But then call Sile a weird one from wanting to actually set the said hoof outside rather than living a life unlived in the same hole. And the curiousity it just burns holes through her mind in many nights wich she ends up not sleeping.THAT IS MOCKING.
You're overthinking again, stop it!.
The mare was at a few moves from trying to jusify herself and her motives, but stops as if Argus himself hit her in the back of her head to stop before she could say anything stupid.
Remeber where you are, remember your place. Herd before family, family before self. Herd before family, family before self.
Her ears twitched in the directions of the sounds of whats seems like..children?!.Sile thought for a second she must have imagined it but seems the others heard them. She carefully turned and approached closer to the nearest tunnel entrance from where seems the voices are coming from.Worried sick and frustrated that the mare wanted to call for them but she just couldn't.
Not much after she took the steps back totally supprised by the sudden appearance of a tiny filly.Sile carefully crouches down so she is at a more eye leve with the little one trying to not make herself seem more scarry as the little one squealed and backed off a little. Oh how much she wished she had a calming voice.
Sile can only hope the little one knows the sign language. ''..hello little one..?...don't be afraid, it's alright!....where are your parents?'' she signed to them slowlly trying to get their attention so she could try and calm them.
Her head peeks up behind the foal towards the darkness of the tunnel as the other foal's cry was heard and this one was horibly distressed wich Sile could feel it made her hair stand up from fear of what could happen. The spirits.
The mare slowlly turned to the others with a mix of fear and desperation on her face '' you like it or not we are coming!...like you said you're a skilled fighter, whatever is ahead there could be dangerous..especially for a child!..we are no fighters but we can help! i ask you for your help not as a..''
She trails off for a second peeking down at the child with them, then continued ''..opposite...but as another being in need,we can get a map for you and continue as we never meet...but,please they're just a child'' She looked over all of them hoping they will help, but back in her mind theres the dark thought they'll just turn and walk away.
They wouldn't do that to a child....Either way she hoped Tavius could aid her...he doesn't seem like the fighter type of horse, yet a very protective one..,but she can only hope.

Ari
Quickly Ari noticed the horse that was signing to him, his stomach tumbling for a few moments as he noticed that they were trying to help out, though there was a moment when he wondered if this was really a good idea. Then, there was a loud squeak, pulling him from his thoughts and worries.
Oh no. Ayako!
She must've followed him into the tunnels when he had run! How could he have been so stupid?! With a sudden look back, the colt's ears flicked away, showing his worry as he considered his options. Quietly he looked at the others, realizing that he had somehow intruded on something... much more hectic than he really knew.
He took note of what the grey one was signing, though, and glanced back behind him. He needed to go and find his little sister, especially considering her age.
What should he do? He panicked for a moment before quickly signing back to the horse in front of him.
My sister is further in... I guess she followed me... though I thought I was alone. She... he's younger than me. He floundered a little bit with his wings, trying his best to sign the words he was thinking of, but he wasn't exactly well practiced. Speaking was easier in most situations for him, but with so many...

Tavius;Breim | Ties
"How do I help them?" The stallion watched Mateusz and his aggressive display towards Sile, he seemed to physically bristle in front of them all… Tavius wondered silently why there was such animosity for them, and his own ears flickered lightly as Caivarus pulled the cloak around himself. He was glad to give the other something to help, even if they seemed confused about the gesture. Tavius swallowed lightly as a small and gentle smile appeared on his features – he felt that the situation was unnecessarily tense… but he said nothing more as he took a gentle breath. “As I said… I don’t doubt you. But I think we’re just worried about making sure you’re safe, that’s all. I… didn’t mean to offend, and I’m sure Sile didn’t either.” He lowered his gaze further, thinking briefly. After a moment of hesitation, Tavius blinked lightly and looked back up, offering a small smile yet again. “I was born to Kawaru parents in Sterling…” And his ears flickered as he watched Caivarus speak lowly to Mateusz, not catching what was said, but he listened then to Sile and lowered his gaze. Was it a good idea to travel to Sterling with them? He wasn’t sure that he would be willing to do that, he may not be able to come back to Nariah… and maybe his family was in Sterling, he didn’t know. For all he knew, his family mourned his loss to the Umare and moved on with their life, and… he was comfortable with the life he lived as is, everything would be turned upside-down if he left and wasn’t able to come back. When Sile turned away and he heard the ever so soft shuffle of hooves, he shook himself from his thoughts and his eyes widened as he saw a young Pegasus foal.
Argus… his ears dropped and his eyes softened, watching Sile speak with the young one. If the foal didn’t understand signing though… When Sile turned back to the two Kawaru, Tavius stepped to the side and towards the foal. “Do you need help finding your family? I can help you if you’d like, I’m Tavius” His smile was gentle and kind, but he felt a sinking feeling in his chest. It was terrible that this young one was alone… if she’d been playing before the disaster took place, did that mean there were other children out there as well, lost and panicking?

Mateusz "You men are all the same Macho but cheap A load of wimpy unfaithfuls So predictable. No, I'm not sure that you deserve me You're lucky to be loved You should say 'thank you' to me."
Teu looked to the anxious kirin, and then nodded. "I think so," he murmured in reply, watching each of the Umare horses gather themselves up in defiance. He was hardly paying attention to what they were saying, more so focused on whomever was in the tunnels. A frown pressed against his face.
"I'm not taking a fucking kid. No." Teu scowled toward the grey mare as she trotted off to go find the kid. "Take the foals back to Nariah. Caivarus and I are going to get a map, some food, and then we're leaving." He turned away sharply, a statement that he no longer wanted to interact or negotiate with the people who had gathered.
Teu was about to say something to the bi-colored kirin, when the noises shook through the caves. He froze, eyes searching for the source of whatever it could be that was making such a haunting sound. "Shit-" he hissed, body shrinking back. He couldn't see anything but he could feel it. Something disturbed was coming, wild and panicked and once the stallion had his mobility back he found himself shoving his scaled companion toward what seemed to be an alleyway, tucked behind a set of buildings just on the edge of the city. "We gotta go."

It felt like sensory overload as everything went on at once, but even with her chest heaving and heart pointing in her ears she could still see the pretty grey mare before her... she looked nice enough but what was she doing?... her ears flopped to the side as she tilted her head, snorting softly as her mind zoomed into focus on Sile. Her mother had done something strange like that before when she and daddy were talking... but thi looked so much different then that... but before she could move a larger brown horse appeared one who looked like the rocks and dirt in her parents garden, he spoke to her and even shared his name, Tavius, Everything else fell on deaf ears and she just stared dumbly at him A strange noise pulled her attention as the grey mare turned away, Tavius even moving a little closer to her. The tiny filly peered around Sile and past Tavius, to her surprise and utter excitement she saw her big brother!. She called to him in the loudest little whinny a tiny filly could make before racing over. She pushed past the adults and darted in front of the red horse and Korn before crashing into her brother's chest. She nuzzled close to his chest and stared up at him, a huge proud smile on her face. She had found him! She was so scared and almost hadn't but here he was right here!. Her tail wagged from side to side as she smiled happily at him, the strange noises barely catching up to her until the red one made a loud noise and pulled her attention. What was that!?
