Driven of the Kawaru Breimians
......
Not long after Reid became one of the Arisen and she took up a spot as one of the Driven, Amity had transformed into a Kirin. Though she loved the Kawaru, she couldn't help but think people were avoiding her now because of her new appearance despite their forward thinking ideals. Hell, she would avoid herself! But that was besides the point...The reincarnated Kirins and Nuriko came from Nariah, and of course the Umare found them missing by now. Even with the damages to their city to worry about. No doubt they would try and blame the Kawaru, that tended to be a trend when something went wrong. However, they had been far too quiet in the past weeks, the small mare knew it wouldn't be too much longer before her healing city would be disturbed.
But what could she do? She was a Kirin now. One of the 'enemy' once imprisoned by the more traditional faction of the herd. The Umare would never listen to her, and she wasn't even one of the ones in charge anyway. Well, maybe if she acted like it they would value her word more. All this ran through her mind as she strolled on the outskirts of the city, an activity of hers that usually gave her a bit of quiet time, but recently had only brought trouble.
She flicked her long, scaled tail as she walked. Realizing once again how heavy the antlers now protruding from her skull were, she hung her head.

Y O Z O R A Male | Arisen | Kawaru Briem
Barren head slowly lifted. Word had reached him, through established warden relations, that a small party of Royalty was about to breach the Kawaru edge. Unicorn tail twirled, darken strands dusting over the ground as he walked, quietly, solomly towards the city's perimeter. A strange sense of dread pooled in his stomach. Meeting with officials like this rarely ever went well for them and to hear a mere child would be coming as well... His mind reflected on the King's Guide who had taken to leading a double life.
Doev.
His walk towards labyrinth entrance was not unnoticed and many of the citizens stopped to watch him. Since the surges of Arcane energy had pooled within the city's bowels, Yozora had barely stepped hoof outside. Yet here he was now, walking with quiet purpose. Steps were measured, precise. Head remained lifted, eyes flickering over those who watched him. Ice blue eyes slowly landed on the bright red Kirin... Amity. He paused, looking her over. An asset possibly in this discussion that was bound to bring no good towards his people.
"Amity... Please, Follow me." He spoke, voice much more somber and monotone then he was used to. It sounded strange even to him. "We have some special guests coming. I think you could help me." Legs picked up and he started to walk forward once more.

Y O R U Male | Royal Overseer | Umare Briem
Rage scored through his heart.
Anger bubbled in his veins.
Eyes glared at nothing and yet everything.
His chest was tight in a way that the young royal could not understand, refused to understand. The ache of his wing was nothing like the fury that was swallowing him whole. Not only had the Kawaru done something, been the cause of the crystal shattering, but they had also done something to the only father he had ever had. They were the cause of Doev's betrayal, the reason he was rotting away in the cells below the palace.
The reason he was yet again without a true parent figure.
These so called Kawaru would pay for their crimes, pay for the way they had polluted his fathers mind, drove him to do the things he had done. Chest tightened again, teeth gritting as he struggled to maintain any sort of composure. Head shook, long bangs swaying from the action before his head lifted once more. The harness that held his wing in place was new, no longer able to hold onto the one Doev had gifted him. No... He could no longer hold onto anything of the past, at least after this meeting, that would be the goal. Someone would pay for the crimes of the Kawaru. Either it be all of them or one of them, Yoru didn't care. But he needed a place for all this anger, all this hate to go. Eyes flickered to Sakura and Ghisaye, hoping they felt the same way as him.
"Ghisaye, are we close?" He asked through gritted teeth, eyes hard as he stared forward through the maze of caves around them.

Arges | Driven
Following only a few months after the cave in, the crystal that gave the Breim tunnels energy shattered. The loose Arcane played hell with all sorts of things. Emotions were being stretched beyond normal for individuals. Warp pads were sending horses far beyond the desired destination. While disorder was prevalent up front, behind the doors of Driven, imagination was running wild. Included in this mad dash for great invention was Arges. Previously he had been occupied with improving his stargazing telescope, but work had to slow down. When the crystal shattered and the rush of uncontrolled Arcane energy swept to all corners of the underground, Arges did not escape the effects. He had been facing rapidly changing emotions, often times switching between two extremes. Even Anah, the large relic he often traveled with was finding the surge in energy uncomfortable. Arges was starting to experience bits of memory loss, typically chunks gone from his morning routine, but nothing important.
When word came to him from Yozora that Umare officials were paying a surprise visit, Arges agreed to attend the meeting and later on following an episode with an agitated blanket, forgot the reasons he had agreed to go along. Before he had set out to the meeting place it crossed his mind to invite Eos, daughter of a dear friend and unofficially, his niece. She was exceptionally bright and outspoken for her age. To Arges, she seemed more than worthy to attend "official business" such as this. His preparations to leave were a rush. Hastily, the Driven packed his satchel with new notes and blueprints relating to the subject of Electrostatic. Anah, now several times larger than when Arges first acquired them, fluttered down from the ceiling and folded up to fit draped over Arges' back. On his way out the door he paused, remembering Eos.
"Eos! Meeting soon! Hustle hustle!" He called back into the space. Waiting only for a moment, Arges dipped his head to passing horses who must have heard him crack the local silence. Shouting wasn't something he normally practiced, but with the Arcane instability he could sometimes be a loud mouth. He began making his way to the labyrinth entrance where they were supposed to meet. He moved like he was in a rush, paying little mind to watching eyes and occasionally looking back to see if he could spot Eos tailing behind. After just a short time of hurried walking, Arges could make out the figures of Yozora and Amity in the distance. Amity was easy to spot after an odd transformation. The scales and antlers that had sprouted from her instilled an old fear in Arges, but he figured such a change couldn't have been helped and perhaps as one living in Breimen culture, she may feel the same. With fear, he also felt pity for her.

Eos | Citizen
Eos was tinkering with a plant, looking a bit like an alien -had she had the concept of such thing-, green light illuminating her face in the dark room as she studied it and the glowy vile she had put it in. She was trying to figure out if she could get the organic material to absorb the biolumiscent qualities of the ink but it seemed the fluid was still too thick to absorb properly. She scribbled something down, letters pure chicken scratch as she mumbled to herself. She felt determined right now, which was a considerably better mood than a couple of hours earlier when she had suddenly started crying because she missed her parents. All because she saw a book which reminded her of her papa. Or the day before which she had spent almost entirely by sitting under a blanket. It was a wild ride lately. As if regular teen emotions weren’t exhausting enough.
She was pulled out of her concentration by her uncle calling. She was already calling a loud “WHAAAT” back as the sounds of the words managed to register as meaningful in her brain. She quickly scrambled to grab her travel bag and rush after Arges, who in the meantime had already left the building. Miffed that she didn’t know why they were suddenly leaving, she trotted after him, mind running through different scenarios. “Hey, were are we going?” she huffed as she caught up to him.
She was quick to spot the other horses. Amity was one of them. Red, scales, antlers. The stuff of nightmares but very. She knew better now, knew that children tales actually were very real. She wouldn’t admit she was afraid. Uncomfortable at best if you asked her, but nonetheless she inched closer to her uncle, staying behind him.
“That’s the one who turned into a skingrabber, isn’t she?” she whispered entirely too loud. To think that actually happened. She shudered at the idea of having her skin messed up like that. Poor horse.

G H I S A Y EFEMALE | THE WACTH | BREIM | UMARE
Chaos reigned supreme for the time being, albeit somewhat orderly chaos. There was little to be done about it. Unruly crowds could be controlled, but emotions gone haywire? What was Ghisaye to do about such an intangible concept? She had received her orders from up the ladder and she was following them as best she could. Her tasks were all that was keeping her sane, though as focused as she was, Ghisaye had not been exempt from the claws of the loose Arcane energy. Her breakdowns had been carefully measured and hidden from prying eyes, though she could feel the drain it was exacting on her energy levels. Despite the unrest of the general Umare population, Ghisaye was focused today. The cause of the crystals’s shattering was still very much a mystery, despite relentless efforts to get to the bottom of it. Today might prove to be the first breakthrough in what already seemed like an endless investigation. There was a lot riding on the meeting and Ghisaye could feel the pressure. Their orders had been supplied by High King Hajime himself. Rumors had been doing the rounds about the possible involvement of the Kawaru. It was time to either prove these rumors false or correct. High Queen Sakura and Royal Overseer Yoru accompanied the small group with Ghisaye taking lead. Attentive ears flicked about, followed closely by cerulean eyes. Muscles flowed like liquid iron beneath her coat, her body a honed weapon ready for whatever may present itself. She knew the tunnels well; exceptionally well, and they were nearing the exit that lead out into Kawaru territory. It didn’t take an empath to feel the rage that seeped from Royal Overseer Yoru, but Ghisaye knew better than to interfere or question. There was history between the Royal Overseer and the Kawaru, and Ghisaye could hardly blame the stallion for the emotions that boiled within him. He broke the silence with a question directed at her. Ghisaye came to a slight halt and turned to face him, dipping her façade low, “The exit that leads into Kawaru territory is straight ahead, my Prince.” Ghisaye now stepped aside, dipping her head low to High Queen Sakura, allowing her and Royal Overseer Yoru to take the lead from here on out. Soon they would come into contact with the officials from the Kawaru and it would be prudent for the High Queen and Royal Overseer to make first contact.

SAKURA High Queen of Breim Sakura had watched the arcane conduit explode from the Royal Gardens. What was meant to be a relaxing moment in her life instead turned coal black, then blinding, somehow all at once. The wave thundered through Nariah, pulsing with energy that bloated the Queen’s veins. It was warm, yet there was a constant chill lurking on the edge, nipping when least expected. The blessing Argus had so lovingly bestowed upon her transformed into an unreliable anxiety. A terror caused by the arrival of colossal power, somebody’s energy, their presence, so focused but indirect, left her tired. Only for a single moment did she withstand the consistent buzzing, prickling of her nerves, and flexing tendons before passing out. Mind opaque with fog, Sakura awoke to Haruka rushing to her side. He urged her, begged, to seek shelter, medical care. She had luckily survived the earthquake – there was no need to risk her life once more. Her people needed her alive. The King needed her alive. Aching muscles pushed and strained to stand. Yes, her people needed her. Teeth clenched, her voice barked orders at the unicorn: “Find my husband. Assemble a meeting. Now! Go!” Later, she would feel embarrassed by the outburst. It was unbecoming of her. It wasn’t her. Immediately an investigation was put forth, spearheaded by the idea that the cause was the damned Kawaru. Even with their numerous informers, their lovely flies on the wall, the plan for the attack on the crystal had been missed. A grievous error. How dare they, these ambassadors for change, cause more hell for the herd they claimed to love so much. How dare they. In the beginning, the sentiment had only been words, muttered under breath in frustration. Now, it was an emotion, a feeling that coursed through her, burning the walls of her chest. It burned so bright that sometimes, when left alone long enough, the pegasus mare could have sworn she felt the heat radiate into her ribcage, flowing into her spine and overflowing into her extremities. She believed it burned so bright that she herself could have lit the darkened path to Sterling. The imbued gemstones and rudimentary lightbulbs felt the energy, too, but could not contain it. Light flickered sporadically, unable to hold onto the power that now danced underneath Sirith, unable to reveal the monsters in the dark. Sakura would do that herself. Just as every fiber of her lithe form pulsed, so did the ore veins. Beautiful shades of color reflected on the traveling party, illuminating the freshly polished gold chains that adorned the Queen’s hood and tail. Somberly, days into the excursion, she comments, “Hireath – Breim – is truly breathing.” Her soul ached, cried for the herd, for herself, for her King. Oh, Hajime. There had been so much turmoil since their marriage… She forced his image down. Better to not daydream. There was work to be done. All the energy, the potential it brought, all wasted because the Kawaru wanted what wasn’t theirs. Greedy, selfish, they had destroyed the conduit. How dare they. How dare they want the freedom to do as they please, to shirk customs and beliefs, only to ask for the protection of the Crown, to use the energy focused in the capitol. And then, to destroy its center, to let it rampage through the streets -- Yoru’s voice pulled her from her thoughts. “Ghisaye, are we close?” “The exit that leads into Kawaru territory is straight ahead, my Prince.” Soft golden eyes glanced between the young Overseer and the well-built Watch. Exhaustion grabbed on her hooves, its hands trying to pull her down into Kaia’s earth. A month of traveling was already unfortunate. In this state of confusion, of destruction, it was even more unbearable. How had Ghisaye been able to keep so strong in the aftermath? Just the idea of picking up her throwing knives had left her drained. “Thank you, Ghisaye,” Sakura said, barely dipping her own head in return. Her eyes focused on Yoru, and though she was not much taller than he, and matched his pace. An attempt at comfort, a wing gently extended to rest over the younger’s back. She paused, silently clearing her throat, checking her tone so that her emotions would not overtake her. She hadn’t been herself since the crystal shattered. “Do not let anger control your words.” The Queen knew very well it was easier said than done. Then, a promise: “We will hold them accountable.” Soon, the party had entered the world of the Kawaru, and light filled the area. Their sources of energy seemed to stay powered. Thieves.

admin notes The Kawaru are the first to make it to the conference hall, settling into the small but well decorated room quickly.
The Umare arrive only a few moments later, bringing with them their frustrations which are only compounded by their long journey.
As the two parties organize themselves, the tension grows thick, giving off a sense of unease with no one sure of how this meeting would end...

Y O Z O R A Male | Arisen | Kawaru Briem
Hooves stepped softly into the meeting room, specifically build for this kind of 'meeting'. The room was cold and clean, a single table in the center with a piece of purple fabric draped over it. Gems of various sizes hung from the ceiling, casting the room with an eerie glow. Not that Yozora minded. It wasn't his job after all to make the Umare comfortable. There was water available with a few small morsel's of food. Wasn't his job to feed them either. The umare had been doing a good job of that themselves after all. With the way the food rations were going... He let out a hard breath and took a stance at the head of the table.
Eyes flickered over their guests, allowing them time to get as settled in as they liked. For some reason there was children was present... Lovely. Head shook slowly, before he looked towards Amity and then Arges and Eos. Clearing his throat the Kawaru Arisen lifted his head, making direct Eye contact with the Umare High Queen, Sakura.
"Welcome. I got wind you wish to discuss something with us. I have an inclining what it might be about, but please... Enlighten me."

Y O R U Male | Royal Overseer | Umare Briem
This room was dank, damp. Smelt funny. And it was so cold. The pain of his wing was getting to him and mixed with the reason for the trip... The young royal was not in a good space to say the least.
After venturing in with Queen Sakura and Ghisaye, the small group were shown to the meeting room. Hardly any recognition at all. No bows... These Kawaru were so disrespectful! He stepped in close to Sakura, nestling himself between the two as if that would help him, protect him. But as the so called leader merely stood before them stared, stared, the young prince could hold back his anger no longer.
Stepping up to the table, he stomped a single hoof, head lifting high to glare at the unicorn across the table. "We've come for your surrender and arrest Arisen Yozora. Your crimes are not limited too but include the destruction of the Main Crystal within Nariah, the tampering of food sources and strange happenings in the main city, as well as turning Doev, the King Guide, against the Umare! Do you have anything to say for yourself?!" Panting hard, the little equines wing had flared out during the speech, to make himself look bigger. This was it.
Someone would pay for these crimes.

Eos | Citizen
They all ended up in a room, a rather pretty one if you asked Eos. She was too distracted by looking around her at the decoration to pay her respect to their guests. Not that she would likely would have done so either way. She wasn't a fan to the royals, not any more at least, not now she knew how they treated others like dirt. She didn't look at Yozara either when he tried meeting her eyes, interest caught by the nice looking gems hanging from the ceiling instead.
What did get her attention was the sudden stomping of a hoof, closely followed by accusations. What in the name of Argus? Proverbial hackles raised she glared at the kid -couldn't be older than her, could he?- that came waltzing in trying to arrest their arisen just like that. "And on what ground, huh, Fluffbutt?" It took her a minute to register what the accusations exactly entailed. Which meant that stuff was going on in Nariah. And her parents and sibling were there... Worry spiked and ruffled her non-existent feather even more. "Are you really coming in here, telling you are clearly messing up your own stinking city. And then come try pin it on one of us? Strange happenings, really? What? Wisps disappearing again? And turning someone against you?" She barked out a laugh that was anything but pleasant. "Boohoo. Must have been mind control. Because you know, free will doesn't exist. Pathetic. Like we don't have enough problems of our own. Self involved-"
The rest dissolved in unintelligible mumbling as she got too angry to be coherent. After coming to the Kawaru, life had not been easy. She was still adapting to her new age. Adapting to a new place, a new understanding of the world. She boiled at the injustices of the world and struggled with understanding her new self. Tried to find her place in life while also missing her family intensely. And then these weird happenings and too much emotions. It was too much. She was a bomb waiting to explode and Yoru quite easily set her off. If someone didn't hold her back, she was so getting into this brat's face. She was itching to fight and he was finally a face she could put all her anger towards.

Arges | Driven
Both groups had gathered in the dimly lit room. Arges found the quiet echos from the walls and soft lighting to calm his spinning head. Though, looking at the decor and food provided at the table made him feel tired. It was something he had gotten used to after moving to Sterling from Nariah, the lack of comfort. Sometimes life underground felt strange. Sometimes he would long to feel the sun again and smell the airs of The Point. The Relic that had folded up on his back had begun to unfurl. Anah had slowly been unfolding this whole time and bringing him warm memories of his childhood home on the rice farm. He wasn't paying much mind to the Arisen or the Royals at the beginning. The Driven had expected the meeting to start off slow and warm up into the issue, but that wasn't going to be the case.
The stomp from the younger royal jolted him from a sweet memory. Arges lowered his head down as he felt his body temperature climb. The language this youngster was using. His emotions squirmed in his head hearing the accusations. Why would they do any of that? The Kawaru relied so much on the Umare's albeit slim help just to function. So why would they sabotage a connection they both needed? Then Eos spoke. Jested even. The brown horse jerked his head up and thin streams of smoke twirled from his nostrils. She should know better! Even with these false accusations, this was no place to speak out of turn.
Arges found her trailing off and took his turn to cut into her emotion spurred speech. "Eos, hush! This is not the time nor your place to speak this way." Hot air rushed from his mouth as he spoke, the fire blessing that fed off his emotions was more than saturated. He breathed slowly to regain the calm that left him and Anah had taken to hovering just off his coat, still folded a couple times over. "I apologize for my niece's behavior." He dipped his head to the visiting Umare, even after the younger spoke cruelly. "The destruction of the crystal has effected both sides here negatively, so your accusations of destruction and tampering of a source we still rely on so much strikes me as odd." Arges spoke in a surprisingly calm and cadenced tone, one those closest to him probably never expected given his everyday way of carrying himself. Despite this, his breath was still hot and part of him feared the Umare would focus more on his blessing than his words.

G H I S A Y EFEMALE | THE WACTH | BREIM | UMARE
Ghisaye was well acquainted with the way things were done where the Umare were concerned. She was well aware of the dangers that the Kawaru could pose to an already fragile civilization. She also knew that the Kawaru deserved and had chosen their fate. Upon entering the meeting room the mare became distinctly aware of the carefully placed decorations as well as food and drink, almost as if the civility of the room could disperse the tensions between the two sides. Ghisaye knew well enough that the Kawaru were not to be trusted, but she was not naïve. There were elements within the Kawaru that were good and there were elements that were bad. Yin and yang as it were with all things. She was distinctly aware that even within the Umare there existed evil elements.
The Kawaru Arisen spoke first. Ghisaye glanced between High Queen Sakura and Royal Overseer Yoru. She had full confidence in the two of them. She was not here to take part in the discussions per say. She was a member of the Watch and as such her duty to protect came first. Although she knew the lore of the Umare well, it was not her place to get involved with politics. High Queen Sakura took the lead with Prince Yoru by her side. Ghisaye took flank but remained waiting towards the back of the group. When Prince Yoru spoke out, his accusations were swift and to the point. There was no tiptoeing, no shuffling about on broken eggshells, no, he stabbed right for the heart. Ghisaye straightened, ears held in a semi-neutral position as she watched the exchange closely. Rippling muscles were held tense beneath her hide, years of training holding her at the ready for whatever might happen. Royal Overseer Yoru’s wing had flared out, quickening Ghisaye’s breathing, heart pumping the fuel that could engage her into whatever action her mind required of her.
There was a younger one among the ranks that stood opposite them, once that seemed to radiate disrespect, and sure enough the young one’s mouth dropped open to regurgitate a barrage of hateful contempt aimed straight at her Prince. Fury flared within the young mare like a blazing fire, igniting her soul with righteous rage. Another was already silencing the insolent child, but it was too late. Ghisaye launched forward, hooves slamming down to echo fiercely through the gathering room as she stood before the citizen, nares flaring, aqua eyes set ablaze as she glared at the insolent creature, towering over her. “How dare you disrespect Royal Overseer Yoru with your insolent language!? Step down before I am forced to break the no-violence agreement of these walls!” Her voice echoed through the chamber. Self-control kept her muscles locked like pure iron. The voice of a reasonable creature came to her then, ever so slightly diffusing the situation, the same voice that had rebuked the insolent female. Ghisaye snorted as a last warning to the female, then stepped back, retaking her place beside Royal Overseer Yoru. She would not stoop to the level of that female Kawaru. She would let her superiors do the talking.

SAKURA High Queen of Breim As a child, she had accompanied her mother on numerous diplomatic trips to Sterling. The city itself -- a hodgepodge of invention and rickety buildings, the cramped quarters and eccentric horses -- had always intrigued her, but never interested her. She always felt more as if she were studying the residents, the wheels of her mind trying to catch on a cog that explained why they would choose to live here. What kind of person denied the comforts of Breim, the true Breim, to live off lower rations, away from the safety of guards, under a false leadership? The Arisen, as they had come to call themselves, were officially recognized and yet Sakura could only view them as blasphemers. Her small group was received in a rather clinical room. Despite the bright light outside, the literal hole in the wall was dark, illuminated only by the colorful overhead gemstones. It was a shame the same energy wasn’t translating into heat. The room’s chill latched onto her jewelry and pressed the cold into her pelt. Her sixth sense allowed her to count the figures in the chamber as her eyes adjusted. When they did, she raised her head high. Yozora was the first to speak, his own eyes lowered to meet her gaze. Defiant. The Queen arched her neck and gently bowed, never the one to let common courtesy and etiquette be ignored. Jaw muscles flexed, about to greet the Kawaru, before the pegasus felt Yoru press into her side and suddenly he was speaking. Her gaze slid to him, one ear forward and the other twisted toward the younger’s voice. Shock dropped a weight into her chest as he spoke; this was the exact opposite of what she had advised. While he appeared angry, Sakura’s own face remained calm, collected. Shock dissolved into embarrassment. Yoru was about her size, and here he was, panting, poised to take down the large unicorn. She might have laughed any other day, any other meeting, but not now. Now she could only wonder if she and the other Royals had put too much pressure on him to already begin to crack. She didn’t have time to calm him or correct the situation. Already, another horse had begun arguing, her energy equally matched with his, her words insulting and quickly becoming a furious ramble that Sakura couldn’t much understand. Thankfully, an older, darker horse scolded her. Eos, was it? How had she been allowed to join this meeting? It was clear she was just as emotional as Yoru and twice as inconsiderate. Her eyes drifted, briefly, to the blanket that hovered over the male’s back before she nodded, accepting the apology and taking note of the smoke that had drifted from his nostrils. Blessed by Ignacio. Blasphemer. At least he controlled his temper, showed respect. Arges spoke, quickly cut off by the sound of Ghisaye’s hooves loudly cracking against the stone floor. “How dare you disrespect Royal Overseer Yoru with your insolent language!? Step down before I am forced to break the no-violence agreement of these walls!” “Enough!” Sakura commanded. “You will do no such thing, Ghisaye.” Her eyes returned to Yozora. She paused long enough to take a deep breath. Any longer and somebody else might explode. “Breim has already suffered enough violence. We need not carelessly add onto it. I apologize for the sudden informality of this meeting. Yes, the Crystal has shattered. Our own investigation has determined that nothing in Nariah caused this. You rely on its power as much as we do, but I have yet to see any negative effects on Sterling.” Her tone dared anyone to correct her. “We are all aware that for centuries the Kawaru have insisted on innovation and change, and that Nariah is currently rebuilding. It is possible you have found a separate source of power. It would have been very easy to sneak in and attempt to destroy Nariah. Destroy the Umare. It surely would benefit you, Yozora.” “The rest of Hireath is at war. I have no interest in joining them when my own herd is insistent on fighting itself, and I have no patience to deal with unnecessary issues. As Overseer Yoru has stated, there has been unusual activity within the city. Rations are being tampered with. Portals are not working properly. We have taken account of all kirin and outsider vagabonds, and none have ties to the destruction being brought upon Nariah. It is all too convenient for Sterling to come out relatively unscathed while the rest of the cities struggle.”
“If you or any of your citizens know anything, now is the time to confess. I will not have the same patience for these actions in the future.”

Y O Z O R A Male | Arisen | Kawaru Briem
This meeting plummeted fast.
Yozora's head turned to look down at the royal who could not hold his tongue, could not conduct himself in a royal manner. That equine had a long ways to go in order to follow the 'reputation' of the royals in Umare. Eyes narrowed at the accusations, giving the small pegasus some time to calm down. Yet a voice erupted from beside him, ears pinning back briefly. Such a bother... A deep sigh pushed out of his chest. "Young one, calm yourself or I will ask you to leave." Yozora added during Arges's quick words to get the child back under control. This was not the meeting for anger and hate... Their people's sense of worth and living were on the line it seemed.
Listening to the voice rise of the High Queen, blue eyes listened unblinking and unwavering. Such wild accusations, always. She spoke without giving him a chance to interject and the Arisen waited quietly and patiently. This was his role after all. To protect the Kawaru and act in their best interest. Right now it was keeping them safe.
"You might not see what we see, but the Kawaru have indeed been affected by the Crystal's destruction. The young ones outbursts can attest to that, as she is not normally so quick to anger. Many of us have had our nights bleed into days, or our dreams last for countless hours. While you may be experiencing something different, my people had definitely not be 'unaffected' as you so kindly put it." The equine took another deep breath, tongue mulling over his teeth as he carefully thought about his next words.
"These accusations and criminals you are looking for, do not rest within the Kawaru. We do not possess the resources and understanding of the labyrinth to launch such 'attacks' against the Umare. The tunnels are mysterious and have ways of warping what we think is the truth. I am sorry you have traveled all this way, but we are not responsible and will not take the fall for these wild demands." Eyes flickered down to meet those of young pegasus who seemed ready to explode.

Y O R U Male | Royal Overseer | Umare Briem
At least Ghinsaye was doing her job. That was until Sakura took charge of the room. Furious eyes simmered down a touch as the High queen took charge. She was so elegant and compossed. So in charge and perfect for this type of thing. The young prince knew he still had a long way to go and with Doev now in jail... He didn't know who could teach him. Head stared down at the table's surface, taking quiet deep breaths to calm his mind. He had to find focus. Had to find some sort of sense in all this.
Yet their resolve cracked and shattered to pieces as this Arisen basically told them to get out. Head whipped up, long bangs flailing from the action. Nostrals flared. Yoru had had enough. This clearly couldn't be settled here. "Ghinsaye. Arrest Arisen Yozoru for acts of Treason against the Umare." His voice was strong and unwavering, filled with pure anger.
Enough was enough. It was time to end this and end this he would. The Kawaru thought they were safe. He would show them. None of them were safe when they went against the Umare.

A M I T Y
Driven of the Kawaru Breimians
......
The red and black newly turned Kirin mare nodded to the Arisen and she followed him to the meeting place. She didn’t miss Eos’ discomfort with her as the child’s fearful thoughts floated through Amity’s mind and she scooted closer to her uncle Arges, who seemed just as uneasy with her presence despite them having known each other for awhile. This blessing of Telepathy had turned into more of a curse...thought the mare to herself as she entered the meeting hall. She didn’t even try to hide or stifle the sigh that flowed through her form. She knew this meeting wouldn’t go over well. If she knew the Umare, they just wanted a scapegoat for the issue with the crystal. None of their quick investigations resulted in an answer, so naturally the Kawaru were blamed. The small group settled in the meeting hall, Amity’s eyes on the door rather than the decorations or appetizers around them. The Umare group’s thoughts preceded them. She heard nothing but anger, frustration...there would be no negotiation. No working together to fix the problem, or at least trying to. They came to Sterling with something just short of a declaration of war.
Her crimson eyes were bright and welcoming at first, but when the arrest for Yozora was the first thing from their lips, they darkened. Her ears tipped backwards and she shifted her weight on her cloven hooves in discomfort. They accused the Kawaru of stealing the power, and showing no damages as a result of the explosion. Amity snorted in surprise. Yes they were rebuilding, but Sterling had all been washed away! And yet these officials claimed the Kawaru hadn’t suffered! Their eyes must be as bad at seeing as their ears were at listening. Yozora’s response was dignified and calm, but it was clear from the Umare’s thoughts that nothing the Kawaru had said had changed their minds. They came here with darkness, and so the darkness will spread. Her crimson eyes flashed with anger and even a hint of challenge when Yoru ordered the young Watch member to arrest Arisen Yozora. These people wouldn’t listen to words. That left only one option. She floated across the floor, her hooves barely making a sound on the floor below her. Her tail lashed and her head was held high, making eye contact with any of the Umare brave enough to meet her gaze. They couldn’t hide anything from her, they came for war. She stopped beside Yozora, a half length ahead of him closer to the Umare.
“I apologize, but I cannot allow that.” She spoke her first words of the meeting, her tone grave. She lowered her head so the dark, sharp tines of her antlers were pointing straight at the faces of the Umare, namely the young Watch equine in case she attempted to follow the order issued to her.
“You came here with nothing but anger and accusations in your hearts. None of our words have reached you, telepathy isn’t needed to see that. You may either speak diplomatically so we can find the cause of the explosion and a way to control the arcane, or you may leave.”

Eos | Citizen
Eos had been ready to jump over the table, but her uncle’s words stopped her. His disapproval made her recoil, shocked face turning towards him. “But Uncle, they don’t care for you or anybody here! Why would they deserve my respect?!” she asked outraged.
Much quieter she continued, voice breaking as the fear seaped through the anger: “What if mama or papa or sis got hurt?”
Her ears flattened as once of the horses threathened violence. “See,” she thought, “They are not worth respect. They are villains.” But between Arges’ smoking nostrils and horse on the other side calling for calm, she kept her mouth shut. Instead she settled for throwing a filthy look over the table -more specifically at the young fluffbutt. She smirked when he ignored his own elder and demanded capture anyway. Prince, hah, more like baby bells was throwing a temper tantrum.
She was suprised when the skingrabber stepped in. Eos swore she knew her before, but she forgot the name. Amy? She was bad with names. The teen wished she had her notes to check, but it would probably inappropriate to take them out right now? Or was it less polite to not know her name? Her scales were red, kind of like gems. Not so much liked a decease. Eos liked red.
She looked at her uncle inquiringly, trying to see if he saw how good and quiet she was being even though baby bells was being a butt still.

SAKURA High Queen of BreimLong nights into days, limitless dreaming, emotional outbursts. That was what the Kawaru were struggling with? It was a ridiculous comparison. Their city had been in shambles before the earthquakes, before the crystal shattered, before this meeting. Their buildings were rarely polished. Sakura believed that the meeting hall was the most refined out of all places in Sterling and only remained that way as they were all much too focused on their inventions and discoveries to take pride in where they lived, unlike the Umare. Her city was destroyed, citizens deceased, families destroyed. And yet, here Yozora was, claiming that they had been affected at a level similar to Nariah’s. And then he claimed her to be a liar, of falling victim to the tunnels’ mysterious energy, of being incorrect. Her eyes narrowed at the tall stallion. It would be like the Kawaru to try and flip the situation back on the Umare, to lie through their teeth, wouldn’t it? Of course, they would claim to have no hoof in the situation. Of course, they would not accept the consequences of their actions. “My demands are not wild, dear Yozora,” Sakura replied, voice still calm and collected. Your tattoos are, she thought, eyes flicking over the purple clouds that covered his hind legs. She did not silence Yoru when he called for the Arisen’s arrest. A pop of energy in her chest alerted her to Amity’s presence. Somehow, she hadn’t seen the kirin beforehand, and her sixth sense hadn’t picked up on her. It was eerie how silent the mare was as she drifted across the floor, stopping closer to the Umare than Yozora had. The sight of her made the High Queen recoil, though she kept her hooves firmly planted on the stone ground. “It’s odd that a kirin would claim to know about diplomacy. Step aside or you will be imprisoned just the same,” she commented, glaring at the bright red antlers.

G H I S A Y EFEMALE | THE WACTH | BREIM | UMARE
What had been meant to be a calm meeting between the two factions was quickly dissolving into a tense situation. This meeting had become everything but predictable and Ghisaye stood tense and at the ready. She took the reprimand from her queen in stride and stepped down, still managing to keep herself at such an angle that none could get to the Royal Overseer or the High Queen without crossing her first. The High Queen then proceeded to explain the situation, her words holding an air of royalty. Ghisaye’s ears pricked backwards then forward, her eyes following to keep close watch on the firecrackers that were gathered before her, following the request from the High Queen for a confession or information at the least. Yozora was the next to speak. Ghisaye listened to his words carefully. It was not up to her to make judgements, but she was not fond of the way he dismissed the young disrespectful child’s words as mere emotional outburst. His excuses for the young one were soon followed by denial of any involvement with the situation regarding the crystals. It was clear that no resolve would be reached within these walls, no truth would be found, not with emotions running rampant. Feelings didn’t matter. Only the truth did, and as long as they had their posse in tow, the truth would be hidden. Her Prince’s orders were direct and to the point and Ghisaye launched into action, massive hooves carrying her forwards. She was a pawn in her Prince’s hooves and she would obey without question.
It was at this moment that the red Kirin, the spawn of Satan, stepped forward. Ghisaye’s ears pinned back, head snaking low in warning. A royal decree had been given for the arrest of Yozora and so help her the order would be fulfilled come hell or high water. It would be all too easy to pivot upon her forelegs and lash out at those demonic horns the creature now pointed at her with harmful intent. Ghisaye knew if the red monstrosity did not move aside, a bloody encounter would ensue. She knew that the guards who stood outside the meeting chamber would rush to their aid and the resisting interlopers would be dealt with swiftly and fiercely. She knew that this red demonic creature, tiny as she was, was only delaying the inevitable, as was confirmed by the High Queen’s words. Ghisaye was not deterred, not by her striking appearance, not by her antlers and certainly not by her attempt at creating a barrier between her and Yozora. Ghisaye’s warning had been issued and now came time for action. The time for talking was over. She stepped forward, hind legs bunching up like coils of iron as the mare raised into a powerful rear, forelegs thrashing out and forwards. This demonic creature would step back or Ghisaye would make her. She towered over the tiny pony sized creature. If it came to it she would break the creature’s antlers off and send her back to hell from whence she came.

Arges | Driven
Arges held his breath as The Watch moved on Eos, ripples of heat shimmered off his body. If a single hoof were laid on Eos, he thought but shook his head as something other than anger crept in. He listened between the officials. He felt that the Queen held some kind of contempt for him already, but a second thought made him realize why. Arges had done very little to hide his fire blessing. Although he didn't ask for it, even hated it and treated it as a curse, it was something he couldn't change. His thin body almost shook as the accusations grew into a call for arrest. He was almost about to speak when Eos' words hit him. Arges looked down at Eos and cleared his mind, speaking calmly. "Your family will be ok, I promise. They are Umare and safer as such right now." He felt terrible. Promising to look after Eos after she left her family and the Umare. The Driven knew it was going to be tough, but he never anticipated he'd put Eos in danger. "You just don't jump in, okay? It's going to turn out alright."
Speaking telepathically to Eos, he neglected to hear the exchanging of words. All he saw was Ghisaye making a violent approach on Amity and his thoughts rang from his head.
"STOP"
The combined energy from his shock and anger blossomed as fire from his hoofs. The fluttering fabric on his back sprang up and unfolded completely, hovering high above them. Arges' body moved without thought and pushed toward Ghisaye. His mental cry wasn't only meant for the horses, to plea with them to halt the action, but also to his blessing which was so reliant on his emotion. And it boiled over. The blue flames wrapped up his legs and engulfed his entire body, bathing the room in a cold blue glow. It was impossible to see behind the flames, but Arges had begun to cry.

Y O R U Male | Royal Overseer | Umare Briem
The traitors!! It was exactly what they where!!
A large hoof pawed the ground once as the Kawaru rats stepped forward to defend their leader. First the kirin, a kirin. Thank the gods they were out of Umare, but now she stood facing them as if they would cower before her. His large free wing flapped once, rage oozing off his form. Nostril's flared, eyes wild. This should have been over by now! He stared at the unicorn who just seemed to stand silently as those around him acted in his stead.
When the horse in the room sparked to life, literally, the pegasus reared and backed up. Fire, blue fire... He had been touched by the Kirin's lord. Head shook, mouth opening to bare teeth in a most savage way. "Arrest Yozora and The Flaming Horse! Leave the Kirin, she does not belong in the Umare Cells!" He knew he would have a long possibly angry talk home with Sakura but this could wait no longer!!

Eos | Citizen
There was too much going on at once. She wanted to scream, but her uncle told her not to. This wasn't fair. They had no proof. They could have no proof. But before she could think that back, her uncle was bursting in flames. She had seen his fire before, it could be pretty. She had an odd mix of fascination and fear of them and at the moment she startled and jumped away at the wild display. She did however not miss fluff prince's command of taking him 'the flaming horse' prisoner as well. Eos did scream. First at the Umare. "They have done nothing wrong! Leave them alone! Uncle?!"
And then feeling overpowered by the large amount of them now in the room, seemingly all much stronger than her, she bolted for the door, already yelling at the top of her lungs in hopes that anyone, any Kawaru would hear it and come to her aid. "HELP! They're taking my uncle! They're taking our arisen! They're gonna hurt them! Help!" Tears slid down her cheeks, not knowing what to do. She just moved here. This wasn't right. Anger, fear and sadness bled together, tightening her throat as she chocked out the words. "Help."

G H I S A Y EFEMALE | THE WACTH | BREIM | UMARE
The order came from the opposite side, barked loud and clear, a decree to stop, but it had absolutely no effect on Ghisaye. The powerful mare’s forelegs thrashed violently and it was almost as if time stood still. His feeble attempt would not stop her. At least that would have been true, but the next moment the creature was barreling straight at her, his entire body sparking up into flames, violent blue flames that seemed to roar like a cursed creature. Ghisaye issued a war cry, fury and fear creeping into her soul as the untamed flames folded around her forelegs, singing at her fur, licking up her neck. She pulled back immediately, tripling on her hind legs and coming down with an instant flinch, pain shooting like spikes along her forelegs and up her neck. “Demon! How dare you!?” Ghisaye snaked her head low, her determined intent clear. The other three members of the watch flanked her, backing her up. Royal Overseer Yoru was infuriated, and he had every right to be. His order rang clear. Ghisaye advanced, the members of the Watch flanking her now, cornering both the condemned horses, the flaming and the Arisen.
The small one promptly left, but not before issuing a scream at Ghisaye’s party. She then exited the room, yelping for help. Ghisaye shook her head, massive hooves carrying her forward, members of the Watch now boxing in the two creatures before them. The flaming horse was a cause for concern, but she could not allow her fear to trump her orders. It would be unacceptable behavior of a member of the Watch. Ghisaye’s words were filled with authority when she spoke, her order empowered by the very order her Prince had given, “Come peacefully. We do not wish any more bloodshed, but I will do what I must to fulfill the Royal Overseer’s order.” Ghisaye raised her head, awaiting the surrender of the two horses that were now boxed in against the stone wall of the cavernous room they found themselves in. Blood had begun to pool at the base of her neck from the burn wounds, dripping down along her chest to join with the wounds upon her forelegs. She paid them no mind, driven by her Prince’s order.

Arges | Driven
It happened. He swore he'd never let it happen. The smell of singed hair and burnt flesh mingled with the smoke that flowed through his nostrils. Arges shook at the thought. His mother and father taught him to be kind, even in the face of bullies. What would they think? His mentor, Daigo, who helped him come to terms with the fire. Taught him how to make it a beautiful thing. Made him promise to never turn the flame against another horse. What would he say. Arges sank back from the gathering Watch. His flaming body shuddered with ragged breaths. I didn't mean it. The fire started to flicker a rainbow of colors, appearing to struggle to stay tall on the Driven's body as if something was pulling the flames down. I didn't want to. He found himself backed to the wall which he leaned on for a moment as the room started to tilt. From behind struggling flickers his wide eyes stared at Ghisaye's injuries and a wave of nausea swept over. Through the assault of a blown panic attack, Arges managed to hear her commands. Come peacefully. Arges couldn't tell if it was an affect of his panic or his unconscious moving for him, but the smoldering horse sank to his knees before laying in a lump. Short flames still flickered feebly from his coat as he flattened his forehead on the floor in a typical prayer position. He lay still. The blanket that had taken flight drifted back down to its friend. Anah hovered just out of reach of the remaining embers and folded about to encompass the crumpled horse. The relic hummed.

SAKURA High Queen of Breim She knew Ghisaye meant well, understood her anger and determination to protect her superiors. The mare had ignored the command to stand down once again, and as Sakura recoiled further from the kirin and the kicking hooves, she wondered if this was all just a side effect of the crystal’s shattering. Meetings between the Kawaru and Umare had been tense before. A thick, warm air that managed to chill the bone, heavy with disapproval from both sides and tense with controlled breathing. Now, the meeting was, quite literally, explosive. A sharp scream ripped from the Queen’s lungs before she could direct the extra Watch toward Yozora. Eyes went wide and panic struck. She didn’t know what was worse – the kirin or the flaming horse, shrouded in blue flame that only served to remind her of when Aodh had brought their damned dragons into the city, of when the earthquake shattered her world and caused fires to erupt from homes and businesses. Terror welled up in her throat. Without realizing it, she had reared just as Yoru had, his one good wing pushing her back against one of the cavern walls, and she felt trapped. She stretched her wings out and upward, only to find that there was not enough space to take flight or even attempt flight. This was Hell. Sakura’s head shook as she fell back onto her hooves. She tried listening to Yoru’s commands, but failed, ears pricking at the sound of Eos’s voice screeching at the prospect that her uncle be taken prisoner. “Quiet!” Sakura barked, but she had already bolted for the door, howling, then sobbing. Her sixth sense was overwhelmed with the sheer amount of activity and bodies in the room. She couldn’t think properly, couldn’t even look at Ghisaye or her comrades, the blue flame too bright to look at. The scent of burnt hair and blood pushed its way into her nostrils, and she shook her head once more, unable to keep her composure. This had all gone to shit. This wasn’t how she imagined it. What would Hajime say? Her mother? She hadn’t wanted to arrest anybody. She had wanted to hold them accountable, but not prisoner. She had wanted answers, a solution to the infuriating problem, but both Kawaru and Umare were stubborn and she would later on decide, as she made the journey back home, that the arrests would have been inevitable. Ghisaye asked for them to come peacefully. Peace wasn’t even an option anymore, it seemed. Maybe it never had been. The blue flame choked, trying to dance, now a rainbow, before succumbing altogether just as Arges did. It was then that Sakura noticed the blanket that had been hovering above him, and she swore she could hear it humming. “Ensure he hasn’t died.” Her voice was rough, straining against a dry throat. Ghisaye was burnt, bleeding. Arges lay in a heap on the floor, and she was certain Eos had managed to cause a scene outside the meeting hall. Slowly, Sakura folded her wings close to her body, then pawed, once and heavy, against the stone ground so that it echoed around them. “Bring Yozora and the other with us. Ghisaye, your wounds will be tended to soon.” She paused. “I want to be back on the road home before this evening.”
