Riviera pinned her ears as the child mother spoke for him, defending the blasphemy her child wrought. If it was her children that acted this was they would have been punished, Argus was their way of life and the one true queen of all and Silver was here in her temple disrespecting her... she snorted, even under the protection of her husband wing she still couldn't keep herself back. None of this was like her, this wasn't at all what she was and because the Crystal shattered she was turned into a worried, distraught mother hen who just wanted to appease their God and return. "Cant you see what he is doing to Argus?. This is what caused the shattering to begin with... her children have strayed from their ways. They fall apart around her and she cant even keep us all together because her power waver... because of him" Her lips quivered as she accused the boy, knowing deep down it wasn't all him, it was the lot of them and she just wanted to find someone to blame. She was also upsetting everyone around her and for a moment everything seemed to stop and float in place, the insence almost choking her as she started to weep silently, tears streaming down her face as she pressed into Jayas side, "Argus help us... look what we've become in the absence of your crystal... please save us all"

Qing || Priestess || She/Her
Qing had found herself a little ways away from the group, standing in front of a magnificent mural. It was old, much older than the priestess could even imagine, but despite age and wear it was clear the craftsmanship was flawless. The longer she stared at it, almost in a trance, the more it looked almost as if the depiction of Argus was moving ever so slightly like the flickering of a candle. She could have stood there forever, taking in the majesty of the temple, but a commotion behind her brought her back to reality. Somehow, despite the fact that they were standing in Argus' perfect temple, the others had found something to argue about. "This is not the time for a disagreement," Qing pulled herself away from the mural to stand within their small group again. By what she should gather, it sounded like accusations of unfaithfulness were being thrown. It was a stressful time and the temple might be overwhelming, but she doubted Argus would appreciate their quarrelling. The priestess sighed and turned to Riviera. The mare had a good heart, but she wished she had kept her opinions to herself. "Putting down others is not the way to bring them to faith. I know everyone is stressed, but arguing is not the answer. Silver's faith is between them and Argus alone right now. While I would love to do nothing more than to help them discover their own belief in Argus, we should focus on what we came here to do." As Qing and spoken, she noticed her peers begin to fade from view. She could barely see past her own nose through the intensifying smoke. Though she had wanted to seek out Silver and comfort him, she had no idea where he even stood. Or anyone stood for that matter. Seeing no point in straining her eyes to look for anyone in this smoke, she closed her eyes and waited. The room had grown completely still, and she knew Argus was almost there. [Post 3 || 339 words]

VEDA || TIES - APPRENTICE || HE / HIM The sound of his hooves were quiet on the hard floor below the horses, the silver toned colt finding that their bickering would not bring Argus in good health. Bowing in front of the largest shrine that stood in the temple, Veda stood seemingly alone, warm brown eyes shut. Rather than pray aloud in front of the horses that surround him, Veda thought instead-- knowing that deep down his god would hear him regardless. "My god, it has been a troubling time for all of Breim it seems... We come here to seek your guidance and wisdom, as we need your help the most. I fear that Breim is struggling right now with the destruction of our crystal, the fire, it's all become so much. Argus, please listen to our prayers." Even Veda's internal voice seemed to be weary with emotion and exhaustion, however the welcoming smell of Argus's incense seemed to calm his raging nerves. But it still ached, the anticipation to perhaps meet the god he worshiped since near infancy, to hear her voice, and to be given a solution to the dramatics at hand. "Argus, please grant us mercy."-- Post III ... 192 words

"A gem cannot be polished without friction, nor a man perfected without trials." ~Lucius Annaeus Seneca ✦ Gemstone looks about through the smoke, her ears flicking back when she hears Silvers mother speak up. Her state of being doesn’t really allow her to truly comprehend the depth of the mare's voice, she couldn’t sense the disappointment she had in her son. If it had been different circumstances, the girl would have been back by the boys side defending him. Even if it was true, that Silver had doubts, she wasn’t the type of horse to judge. Everyone had their issues, and with the destruction of the crystal, the scrambled emotions, and the ruined teleporters, could he really be blamed?
Riviera’s voice filled her ears again, but again, the child didn’t truly hear what the mare was saying. Her finger-pointing, her fear, her pleading...she was far too busy listening to the drumming. Becoming the drumming. Not even Qing trying to calm the others made her turn around again. Instead, the child began to move forward again, back towards where she thought she had been praying before.
This time, she nearly smacked into another small body like herself. In the midst of the argument, Veda seemed to have separated himself from the group, and she only noticed his kneeling form just as she came up upon his side. He was kneeling as she had, head down and eyes closed, seemingly praying. The girl had been only briefly pulled from the thumping of the drum, but then she knelt down at Veda’s side. He seemed to have the right idea.
With her head touching the floor gently, she closed her eyes. In this position, vulnerable, humble, openhearted, the drumming sound pounded in her mind and in her heart. The trance came upon her once more, and she was only faintly aware of Veda’s body beside her own.

Jaya He listened solemnly to both Daigo and Casisus' words, wings shuffling as he cast his gaze to Argus' mural. Squinting up at it, he could swear he saw it shifting, wreathing in the flickering light. He was tempted to pass it off as the dimness, and the wavering candlelight, but the lurch in his stomach made him pause. Everything felt somehow more - sensitive and overwhelming. This was disrupted, however, and soon enough a small argument had started. The bay's ears flicked back at Riviera's accusations towards the young colt. "Riviera." He didn't want to be stern with her. She was worried, he knew that, but now was not the time to lash out at others.
He hadn't been the only one to think so, it seemed, as the filly with the pair of Devil birds spoke up. Others spoke up in the colts defence, his mother included, but Riviera continued her accusations for a few moments more. Was the room getting smokier? His nostrils flared as he drew in the scent, trying to figure out if it was worth concern. It didn't seem like it was from a fire, more just from the incense. His brows furrowed again, and a drumming steadily grew loudier as his vision became cloudier. He drew Riviera in close with his wings, pressing gently but firmly, in an attempt to quiet her. His chest itched, but he felt strangely peaceful. Argus.
Releasing a breath he hadn't realised he'd been holding, the stallion closed his eyes, drumming drawing nearer. A heartbeat. It had the same rhythm as a heart, but slower, and fuller. He slowly lowered himself to the ground, reaching out with his teke to make sure he didn't bump anything in the milky expanse. Curling his legs to his side, he beckoned silently to Riviera, and he waited. post: #3WC: #304

Kuebiko noticed the very moment Casius’s mind flickered with recognition, and in turn, she too found herself remembering him as well. Her attention is brought back to her god fully when the Shift occurs. She felt as everything washed over her. She stayed silent, unlike those that gave out soft gasps or exclamations at the change in presence. She watched as the smoke began to fill the room and closed her eyes gently. Her earlier annoyance and ire at the group melted away, leaving her feeling apathetic for a moment, then secure and relaxed in the next.
Argus. She thought. A tear slipped from her eye. Argus, show us the way. She pleaded silently. Nariah had been thrown into chaos with the shattering of the crystal. She had not known this modern world for long, but even she could see that the unrest was getting to everyone. It was evidenced enough by her own heightened emotions.
“Be careful walking in this smog,” Kuebiko called softly to the rest of the group. “You wouldn’t want to hurt yourself.” She looked up then, opening her eyes to stare up at the ceiling in wonder. Beautiful.

Boris;Talori | Briem Emissary “Honestly, if you were any slower, you'd be going backward.”
Boris choked. He couldn't help it. His lungs seized on the smoke suddenly filling them. Everything was more. Everything hurt more. His heart pounded loudly in his ears and he wanted everything to slow down for just a moment.
Someone yelled Blasphemy. Boris wanted nothing more than to yell at her to shut up, couldn't they just be silent?! All he could do was sit, choking, coughing up his lungs as he struggled to comprehend what was happening. The Pegasus was simple. More more yelling, blasphemy, anger. Yes! Anger! He knew that feeling, knew it so so well as he grew up with a father who could care less and a mother who loved him but from a distance because he was born.
“What do you know of them?!” He suddenly found himself spitting.
“If anything, they don't seem angry!” What was he saying? These were Briemians, he was Talori. But he knew, somewhere inside him, that Argus wasn't mad. Why would they be.
“Why do you yell and fall over yourself?! It's smoke!” He barked, wings ruffled up as he spun to face the mural.
Prove me wrong Argus He begged, staring at the likeness of the god.
Prove me wrong.

Argus God of the Arcane
"Remember my children, do not neglect either the eyes of the heart nor the mind. Cold logic must be tempered by the heat of emotion. Without one, the other will destroy you."
Reference l Playlist l Moodboard
The sound of the heartbeat grows, resonating within the chests of each individual present in the temple.
Louder.
Stronger.
Until it overtakes everything.
And then.... Silence.
Within the smoky mist, you can almost make out a shape, strange but almost familiar...
From the silence, the figure speaks, their voice more felt than heard.
"There is no shame in doubt. It's one of the few paths to true belief." The voice is cool and firm, but kind none the less.
The figure remains shrouded as they grow quiet once more, standing in quiet contemplation and observation of each of their children standing before them.

The mare hated herself for her words and when others snapped back at her... she felt even worse. Everyone was against her call out of the young child and that made her feel stuck down, even when her husband attempted to pull her away she still felt everything press down on her. When Jaya pulled away his pressure and knelt down, she wanted to join even as he beckoned to her but... all this childish behavior kept her standing. 'This isn't me... this is not like me at all...' she thought to herself, casting her eyes up at the figure of her goddess divine A drum beat filled her chest, the beating of a heart with her own and she froze, silence followed and when she turned there stood the figure she had been longing to see her entire life. She threw herself down before her almighty presence and wept. "Forgive me Argus!" she wailed, head pressed flat against the cold stone floor. "I've given my life to your name and all I do is disgrace the ground you walk... I have sinned under your faith... please punish me for the wrongs I have done and spare my husband, my children and family for all my mistakes. Pity and old ugly mare". She sobbed into the stone just feet from Argus herself, seeking forgiveness and seeking pity.

G E M S T O N E ✦ Breim | Uncut ✦
"A gem cannot be polished without friction, nor a man perfected without trials." ~Lucius Annaeus Seneca ✦ The pounding of the drums, or what she had thought was drums, felt like it was coming from her very chest. It was indeed a heartbeat, which was her second guess, and the way it beat and matched the rhythm of her heart was intense yet soothing. It gradually grew louder, and louder, outstripping the bounds of reality until finally, when she felt her body might shatter from her own heart trying to leap from her chest, the ethereal palpitations cease.
The thumping of her own heart continues, she trembles from the very motion in her vulnerable, kneeling state. Wondering why it had suddenly become so silent, the child lifts her head up and gazes deep into the heavenly smoke that had filled the temple. As she slowly scanned the fumes, something stood apart from their group.
In a reaction of surprise and perhaps a little fear, the filly scrambled to her hooves. Her birds that had been standing besides her took to the air for a brief moment and landed upon her back, their trio of eyes settled upon the smoky figure just like their young companion.
And finally, after what seemed like an eternity of blatant staring on Gemstones part, the mysterious figure speaks. The voice reminds the child almost exactly like the swirling mist that permeated the temple chamber. It was gentle like the twirling tendrils that curled in on themselves, strong like intense scent of the incense. But most of all, there was a distinguishable kindness that the tone was build upon that made the young girl feel at ease.
And even as she stared, which if anyone could see her, they would likely cause some kind of commotion because even she felt she was being incredibly rude to her God, for she knew it was her God. A voice rang out behind her, and as she turned to see what was going on, the familiar form of Riviera could be seen ever so slightly through the opaline vapors. Gemstone could mostly make out that the speckled mare had practically thrown herself down in the utmost reverence and groveling. The mares distraught words broke the child's heart.
Torn between wanting to stay where she was next to Veda in relation to Argus and wanting to offer the mare comfort, the girl decided that Riviera probably needed more reassurance than Veda did. The boy was as pious as any of Argus’ children could be, so turning towards the mare, Gemstone moved until she was close to her pale, spotted hide. She hoped the action wasn’t insulting to Argus, and she hoped the God would understand her actions. Though she said nothing, she leaned her head down to softly nuzzle the mare’s shoulder with her cheek, all the while looking back up to the shadowy figure with a smile on her face. She had so much to say, so much to ask, yet she couldn’t formulate the exact words to say other than something very simple:
“Welcome home, Argus.”

Casius;Breim | Priest Kindness trumps all, except when it doesn't As Casius opened himself up to his God, the incense built up heavier than Casius had ever experienced and he looked around the room he felt tears well up as all who had gathered couldn't deny the strengthening presence of Argus. They were not abandoned!
A laugh escaped out of Casius as heavy beating matched his own heart, when was the last time he laughed openly? The time was never right, but here and now he felt completely safe. He had clarity and it warmed his heart, they had been lost for so long now.
The beating came to the point of almost overwhelming and just when Casius thought he might drown within the sound, it cut off, leaving them in deafening silence. As though he had been held underwater for several months, he let out a gasp as he felt their voice through the smoke, everything just felt right. A small smile graced his face as Argus sanctioned their feelings of doubt, it made Casius feel confident, however, "Thank you" Was the only words the Priest could get past his lips.

SILVER "Nothing changes, if nothing changes."
The tension lies thicker than the heavy fog. All around him is an imbalance of emotion drifting somewhere in the calm. Doubt and fear, joy and anticipation. Admiration, among them. This was either the work of the ever-flowing arcane, which tampered with raw emotion, or the work of something else -- something ethereal, something immortal. His heart drums in sync with the beat but for a moment he feels fear -- it wriggles its way somewhere in the calm. So if the god does answer, he wonders for a moment, will they be angry with me?
Does Silver dare desire to peer into his mother's mind, and find out what she is thinking? Is she ashamed of him, too, for being such a blasphemous doubter? Is she shocked, horrified even, that her son has harbored such secret from her all this time? If not for the overwhelming smoke and incense flooding his every sense, he might have done it by now. But alas, he could not concentrate his telepathy. The shrine has overpowered him!
And then, a new voice. It speaks like sterling silver and sends shivers down the spine. A wave of indescribable emotions hits Silver like a wall. The colt tries to comprehend this: why this is happening and what exactly he was feeling. It both frightened and amazed him. For a moment, he looks to his mother for confirmation, and learns that the dunalino mare has crumpled to the floor and stooped her head in a bow of respect towards the new arrival. Silver was dumbfounded.
Like a deer frozen in the woods, he stood still completely still, and his jaw fell open. Then his legs began to quiver, and he felt a little woozy. Out of this surging wave of emotions, which still plagued his head, two came to mind and sufficed: sorrow and denial. Riviera had thrown herself to the floor in shame. Gemstone went to ease her. Cassius boasted a laugh.
... And Silver? "No, it cannot be ... " His words tremble and are scratchy on his throat, falling like fragile glass. "Y-you can't be here...It just can't be." Oh, all the prayers he believed he had gone unanswered. The beloved brother who he had lost and the home that had been destroyed. How could Argus come to them now, when all had already been said and done? The poor colt cannot withhold his emotions any longer. They begin to surface in the form of warm, fat tears. "Wh-where were you?"

Daigorou Baudin | 3
Calamity came when confusion ruled. The smoke, the doubt, all of it mixing together to make some soup of chaos, just like in the city. Daigo regressed to silence, feeling the fatigue that came with this situation. He spared a thought to Argus. He had once doubted the gods, but Argus had shown them self many times before now to the stallion, though never physically. In books, in blessings, in his daughters' smiles, Argus's influence could be seen everywhere. Then, the god manifested and spoke, crumbing those around them. Daigo's lungs deflated and could no longer fill themselves with air. He stared at the body in the mist and the world fell silent. Bodies folded and voices threw themselves, but he was frozen. The god spoke in mortal tongue, earning no response. Then, once again voices fell. Daigorou filled his lungs with great effort and began to speak. "Argus," Daigo felt strange addressing the god as he always did, but the god would see through the embellishment and fluff of niceties. "please ease our doubt, then. The events that have fallen us are not kind and have no reason. Your herd is limping, but you have sat and watched. Why have you come here? Why not before?" Daigo hated to accuse the god like this, but the words pulled themselves from some deep hole within him. 230

Jaya The pegasus' breath hitched in his throat as the drumming silenced, and an unspoken presence pulled his head in the direction of a shrouded figure. He squinted against the mist and smoke, desperately trying to peer through to get a glimpse of their deity. It had to be Argus. His heightened senses, the sense of calm and stillness, and the smoke that clouded their view. It all had to be because of them. What else could have prompted such an experience?
They spoke, and he practically crumbled.
Unseen voices cried out, Riviera too, and his heart ached for her. She was still in so much pain, harbouring a hatred over her past actions. The young mule filly appeared from the mist to offer comfort to Riviera, and he offered a small, thankful smile. Even if she didn't see it, he knew that she would understand his gratefulness somehow. He brushed his muzzle against Riviera's cheek, turning his face back to the God.
Daigo voiced their concerns. He had gathered the party and set them out together, it was only fair that he was the one to remain determined to seek out answers, while others asked for forgiveness and indeed their own answers. Jaya remained silent, ears and eyes strained to catch Argus' response. post: #4WC: #213

Argus God of the Arcane
"Remember my children, do not neglect either the eyes of the heart nor the mind. Cold logic must be tempered by the heat of emotion. Without one, the other will destroy you."
Reference l Playlist l Moodboard
The smoke began to dissipate, leaving the group standing before their god in all their divine glory. Many eyes looked upon them, unblinking as Argus studied each of the equines standing before them.
"Riviera. Rise. My children need not grovel before me. Mistakes are part of life, daughter. They are how you learn. Grow from them." Their voice was cool but soothing, like ice on an injury.
They turned their attention to the young filly who welcomed them home. Smiling, they spoke once more. "Thank you child. Though I have never truly left." She nodded at Casius, acknowledging the priest who simply thanked them for showing themselves.
It was then the doubters spoke. The young Silver first, followed by Daigorou. As they went to speak, their coat took on a warmer hue, many eyes fading away to be replaced by a single, unblinking eye in the center of the god's chest. Argus's voice was warmer now, twinged with sadness as they spoke, their gaze resting on the young silver unicorn.
"My children, I have been with you. I have always watched over you. Even when you felt alone, I was there. I wept as you lost those you loved, and I embraced their souls, guiding them home. We stars are not meant to interfere in the affairs of those who reside on the mortal plane, for that is not our place. We watch over you from a distance and maintain balance. We do not prevent tragedy at the hooves of other mortals. My heart aches when you ache my children, but there are things at work far beyond your understanding." Argus's voice was filled with a deeper sadness now, one that felt physically heavy before it shifted once more as did their form, retaking their many eyed appearance.
"I am here now to maintain balance, Daigorou." They said coolly, their gaze shifting to the teacher. "To leave you with a gift to balance the scales. Not to ease the doubts you hold, though that may happen on it's own." As they spoke, the gemstone in the ceiling above them cracked violently and Argus's form shifted again.
"My heart breaks for you, my children, for I love you more than you will ever understand." The gem cracked again as a deep feeling of love and heartache beyond any they have ever felt washed over all standing before the god.

The mist, the smoke, the swirling iridescence of the arcane vanished nearly as quickly as it appeared. And in its wake stood a creature that ensnared the young devouts heart and soul. They were a creature of many eyes, not unlike the many depictions she had seen in her short life. But paintings, drawings, and sculptures could never truly capture the essence, the awe and power of the being that stood before the small group of Breimians. They spoke, the voice acting as a poultice to a wounded soul, their attention first on Riviera who still knelt beside her. Jaya had come up upon her other side at some point, but Gemstone was far too focused on her God to even notice the reunited couple beside her. Innumerable eyes shifted and Gemstone felt tangled in their many gazes, but it wasn’t an uncomfortable jumble. It felt safe and warm, an embrace that was not unlike her late parents. The voice spoke again, and the words, uttering the most complete truth, had the child nodding her head quickly. As Argus shifted their gaze between them all, Gemstone also turned to look. Yet she was in awe at the shift the God took on, their gaze resting upon Silver, and so she looked to her friend. She was now aware of why Riviera had lost herself momentarily. And she didn’t blame Silver for it. Many had been lost. There was a time when she herself doubted after her parents were killed. But her faith grew stronger after suffering that doubt. Surely the same could be done for Silver. Gemstones heart ached when she noted the sadness in her God's voice. To be so powerful a creature, yet unable to assist when needed must be a terrible burden. To only maintain balance when the time called for it. And it was apparent that now was certainly the time. She couldn’t understand what could be happening that they do not know, but the child was far too distracted to even begin to comprehend even asking about it. Daigorou was gazed at next, by Argus and by the green-eyed filly. She looked between God and mortal, her ears twitching in reaction to the Gods speech, before slamming against her head when something cracked above them. Looking skyward, she noted the falling dust coming from the gemstone in the ceiling. Blinking, she looked back to Argus, noting their changed appearance again. Turning to her God, Gemstone looked up into one of the many eyes, focusing, listening with incredible attentiveness that would make her previous teachers proud. As the gemstone cracked again, she was overcome with a rush of emotions. She could feel love, love that she never could recall she had ever had, even from her closest friends and family. But even more, the anguish that she experienced brought tears to her eyes that split down her monochromatic face. And as she trembled, trying to comprehend the complexity of the Gods version of these emotions, she smiled. She sniffled, lowering her head to clear her watery eyes on her knees Whether what she was about to say was smart, or stupid, she sputtered it out anyway. “Lord Argus, what is this gift that will help us be balanced again? Please tell us.”546 WordsPost #6

SILVER "Nothing changes, if nothing changes."
His body shook with rampant, uncontrollable emotion that he so did struggle to contain. Fat tears continued to trickle down his face ceaselessly, much to dismay of his own pride and composure. Beneath sleek, gleaming fur, his bones rattled, the every essence of his being shivering under the aura of the god themselves. To think that he is in the presence of Argus, the very being of emotion and logic itself, an honor that so many horses could have only dreamed of. Their eyes dare meet for a second as the great star fixes their gaze upon him. Silver can no longer stare: like his mother before him, the colt surrenders his guard and crumbles to the floor, bowing his own head in respect.
At last, Sakuya rises, and places her neck gently over his briefly to soothe him. Then she turns her attention to the divine being, ever so carefully removing eye contact as a Breimian so often did. "Empathetic and wise Argus," She begins gently. "Look upon your herd. We are all more lost and afraid than we ever have before." Her voice is shaken and desperate, filled with lament. For her sons, for her husband. For her brother and her parents. "The road ahead is dark and full of uncertainties. Please, help to guide us so that we may know to take the steadier path in your name." And then, the mare bows her head in respect. "We are humble and unworthy of your presence. But if it is your will, then we will do anything in our power to show the rest of the herd that you have not abandoned us."
The crystal ceiling begins to buckle, cracks dividing the glittering stones en masse. Silver freezes up, his emotions relenting for half a moment out of fear that it might collapse. But his mother shows no fear. Her eyes are watery and shining. She is seeking an answer. Near moments later, and an unrelenting swell of heartbreak and love flowed through him. It was insurmountable, like the love beaming down from his parents. He felt shame. Perhaps it was the result of the emotions still running through his head, but Silver felt terrible for ever feeling doubtful and abandoned by his god. "I doubted you...I'm sorry..."

Boris;Talori | Briem Emissary “Honestly, if you were any slower, you'd be going backward.”
“What of me?!”
Boris shook, his wings open as emotions spilled from the golden coated Emissary like a river. His blue eyes were filled with tears, his green wings brushing the floor as he stared up at the god. Argus was greater than he ever could have hoped, their massive stature dwarfing the tiny Pegasus completely. He gasped sharply, ears flattened to his head as his glasses bounced on his muzzle.
“Have you seen me? Seen my home? My people?” He cried to the god of Arcane. The only one who listened to him. The one who appeared when he cried, the one who spoke of love and children. But Boris was not of Briem. He was of the sea, the wave mother’s influence wrapped around his neck like a collar, pulling him down, down further and further. He took a step forward, and another, until he stood before the god he worshiped and praised, much to his family’s chagrin. He had never been the perfect Talorian. Not pious enough, too accepting of the wings on his back, making eye contact with everyone and anyone. He wasn't perfect. He had feelings, feelings that were wrong. He raised his muzzle to Argus.
“I am not of here. I am of Talori. Do...have you seen me too?”

The soothing cool the young mare felt wash over gave her that sense of relief she had hoped for. The God she worshipped all her life was forgiving her mistakes, her God. She had wished for a moment like this all her life and now she had finally gotten it, "Thankyou" she breathed out in all but a whisper, her voice unheard by all but Argus herself. She rose on shaky legs and as she did nuzzled her husband gently, offering the stallion a soft reassuring smile as she used her take to wipe the tears from her eyes She felt more sane in those few moments then she had for months or even years prior, Argus' own words brought her a sense of spirit she had thought she lost. Now she was ready and happier then ever, she had her husband, children, family AND the forgiveness of the one and only God she worshipped, everything seemed to be coming up good for her. "by your own words dearest Argus... I love you as well. You'll forever be in my heart just like the rest of those that I love"

Casius;Breim | Priest Kindness trumps all, except when it doesn't A single tear rolled down the Priest's cheek as the very God he worshipped and preached for stood right in front of him. His heart felt balanced with Arcane magic as Casius attempted to think of questions that may have come up since he was placed at Argus' largest shrine. This was most certainly a once in a lifetime opportunity.
"Deep in my heart I knew you had not abandoned us. As I watched your people struggle, I have to admit I had some doubts, but there was always a spark within that told me you would, no, could ever leave us. Not truly."
For a moment Casius was almost shy, speaking so forthright to his God, but he remembered himself. He was Argus' Priest. If he was to correctly preach their word, he needed to be truly connected with them.
It was then the gem ceiling above them cracked and Casius watched Argus shift, giving only the slightest hint to the mere mortals in front of them of what power the Gods truly had. The heartache hit Casius hard. The sorrow that wailed through him made him think of the father he had treasured and lost at such a young age, however it was quickly overrun with an immensely powerful love. A love that reassured they could never be truly alone.
The Priest glanced over in the direction of young Gemstone as she forthrightly asked Argus what gift they would give and Casius had to smile. He too, as he was sure the entire group was, very curious as to what aid their God could give them physically.

Argus God of the Arcane

Argus's form shifted again, and the wave of pure emotion ebbs away.
The gemstone cracks yet again.
“Lord Argus, what is this gift that will help us be balanced again? Please tell us.” The god smiled at the child as she spoke, so eager and full of life.
"You will know when the time comes, my daughter." Argus replied gently, their attention turned to Boris as he interjected frantically, seeming to worry that he had somehow been left out of the god's previous statement.
"My dear one, I see you. I have always watched over you, and I will always continue to do so. Being born of my sisters does not make you any less mine." Argus said softly, taking a step closer to the small group of equines.
Another 'CRACK' from the gemstone rings out loudly in the temple.
Argus smiled as Riviera and Casius spoke, nodding in response as their form shifted one last time, the gemstone above turning to nothing more than glittering dust which fell gently around the now revealed box that seemed to float down from the ceiling.
"This is my gift to you, my children, to aid you when you need it most." They say simply, offering no further explanation as the finely decorated golden box settles on the floor between Argus and their followers.

Silver had crumbled beside his mother, and as her nature demanded, she turned to offer her friend comfort but found herself glued to the floor as she looked to the young unicorn. She was proud he could see passed his doubt, but there was yet another who doubted as well, or rather, he didn’t actually have doubt but rather needed reassurance. Boris, the Emissary from the Talori, had shouted explosively, yet the pain he seemed to endure was palpable. Her eyes softened as she looked at the spectacled pegasus. He yearned to know if Argus also saw them in their homeland. For a moment, Gemstone was unsure. Surely Argus’ gaze reached to infinity, but did that gaze ever go past the focus of Briem? The answer was clear even before the words left Argus’ lips. Of course, Argus would gaze upon all. Even those with wings, horns, and fins would still be considered children. Gemstone felt humbled. As a crack above drew her attention again, she watched the gemstone shatter into sparkling dust, and within the cloud of iridescent powder, a strange box floated of its own accord down to the observers. When Argus spoke, she looked to her God, nodding in shock before she looked to the golden box as it settled on the floor. Seeing as no one moved, the young filly dared go over to it. She really, really wanted to know. Perhaps it was impulsion caused by the crystal, as that seemed to occur more recently, but maybe it was just because she was excited as a child would be. Excited to get a gift by their God. Standing directly in front of, and looking down at the ornate box, she only half absorbed the intricate patterns decorating the surface. She knew it was gold and knew it was from her God, but she wanted to see what was inside of it. And she really had no idea what could possibly be inside. But as her birds peered around her shoulders, she slowly reached her emerald teke to open it. 344 WordsPost #7

Casius;Breim | Priest Kindness trumps all, except when it doesn't Great warmth filled Casius' entire being as his God acknowledged him before his very eyes. Never before had he felt so content as he did in that moment. The Priest felt secure in all the events and decisions that had occurred before this very moment.
Yes, his people had felt heartbreak and loss but they had certainly also felt joy in that time, no one could completely snuff that out. It was all about the balance after all, that was why Argus had allowed themself to be here in the mortal plane, especially when it was clear that it brought great anguish for them to be here.
Casius felt like he was being blessed all over again when the ceiling shattered which frightened them all, but with it brought them a gift. It was the most intricate, fascinating box Casius had ever seen in his life and that was without it even being a gift from Argus. He had to smile as young Gemstone couldn't resist the box's temptation and lurched forward to pry it open.
He looked up to Argus, curious to see how they would react to the box being opened so suddenly. Although Casius chuckled to himself as he realised that was probably exactly what the God expected of their mortals. Before the child got the box open, Casius came up with a suggestion. "Perhaps, whatever this great gift may be, it would be best stored at the largest shrine dedicated to Argus? That way it is at the heart of Nariah and can be witnessed by all while still being protected. Until the time comes that it is needed, of course."

SILVER "Nothing changes, if nothing changes."
His ears turn to the crystal ceiling, where the glorious top finally gives and crumbles into dust, revealing an ornate golden box that slowly floats down to the floor. The rush of emotions that had previously paralyzed him finally began to die away, giving to logic and reason. Silver sniffles, feeling humiliated that he had displayed such an overwhelming swell in public. Breimians are supposed to be tranquil and polite. His parents would be ashamed if he showed this sort of behavior out in public!
For a moment, the colt begins to question what this would mean for his herd. What news would they bring from their visit to the great temple? How would his people respond to see the crystal ceiling gone? Argus' bed vanished?
"Gemstone! Wait!" He squeaks to his peer. The striped filly had gone to open the box -- later on after they left, he would decide that he did not blame her. He would probably be curious to do the same -- but the unicorn had wondered if it was really right to do so. "D-don't open it!"
"That's an agreeable suggestion. The herd must know of Argus's return. Even if only to give us this little piece of hope..." Sakuya muses, gazing down upon the ornate box. "I pray that we will not need to use it anytime soon. Whatever secret it holds ... but I believe we'll know when the time is right."

As Gemstone attempts to open the box, she finds that it's locked tight. Argus's voice rings out gently as a smile crosses their lips.
"Patience daughter. You will know what it is when the time comes." As they speak, Argus begins to fade into a cloud of smoke.
"Remember, I am always with you. I will never leave you or abandon you, my children, for I am yours and you are mine."
With those final words, the god disappears entirely, leaving only the locked box as evidence of their visit.
