Undyne Let's sway While colour lights up your face Sway through the crowd to an empty space
x | x Days with a child were certainly something Undyne had not been prepared for. Sure, he was ready for crying in the night, perhaps the eventual tantrum and early morning but Ignacio’s glistening horns Undyne was not ready for the amount of energy such a small body could have. Even now, as early morning light flickered through his closed curtains Undyne could just tell that Cinaed was standing right in front of him, eyes wide and words dancing on the tip of her tongue.
Most mornings were the same, transitioning into Afternoon as Undyne went about his duties while also simultaneously trying to chase his giggling girl around. It was frustrating at times, trying his work and chasing the filly as well. He certainly hadn’t signed up to have a child just yet, but life happened and so was the way of things. Cascade had given him a bubbly little girl who was far too curious for her own good.
But as the sun climbed and climbed, Undyne found himself at his wit's end. Today had been a Terribly curious day and Undyne had found himself Constantly stopping his daughter from running off or even accidentally breaking something. Combined with her ever-present questions and inquiries. So he had stopped her, sat her down and with his most “parenty” voice had simply asked “Cinaed, is there something I can give you so that you will give your daddy two seconds of peace?”

Every new day was a chance to explore, had some important horse at some point said. Or something like that, but Cináed definitely lived by it. Much to her father's dismay, the filly was always out and about the sanctum, seldom having seen the outside of it. So naturally she had to explore all that was to see inside of the Sanctum - every corner, every nook and cranny. She wasn't sure whether he found it too annoying or not - she couldn't imagine doing the same boring chores over and over like he did. She could tell he was particularly iffy today, as she kept asking him "what's that thing for? what does that do? why do you do that instead of this?". By now, he was almost trained in auto-replies, as Cináed usually forgot she had asked. It wasn't her fault she was so young and forgetful! She'd learn eventually.
Cináed had nearly broken a vase at least three times today and stopped to question her father at least seventeen times - and as she opened her mouth to ask him about his fins and Cascade and whatever else might roll off her tongue, Undyne sat her down. She couldn't even be mad or sad about it, she could see his growing annoyance as the day went by. "I.. Maybe we could go and see the ports outside of the Sanctum today? oH or you could pick some of your fancy clothes a-and we could play dress-up? Or we could bathe in the pools and you can tell me about Cascade!! And those weird powers people can get, blessings? I just want to hang out with you daddy! Instead looking at the same boooring routine everryy dayyy" The filly suggested, timidly at first but more excited as she got more ideas. She finished with a small pout, but not without a cheeky glint in her eye. There were so many things to do, other than the same routine - it was time for fun!!
