Balthazar & EvokarJodifarrow & FaunaFawn
Setting: Evokar travels across one of Balthazar's many different secret hideouts rather high on Mount Skeldr, and without realising it belong to someone, goes inside to rest from the ever growing snow storm. Little does he know it is home to Balthazar, who arrives moments after, confused and rather irritated at finding a stranger in his home. The snow storm is too great for Evokar to travel in, rendering the two stuck in the small space.
Balthazar | Raider
The wind was growing harshly, flecks of ice flying into the large drafts face, causing irritation and disgruntled groans. Balthazar had just been raiding through the forests at the base of Mount Skeldr, and was now heading to one of his hide outs, one of the built in caves he had transformed into a useful place to go when he didn't want to encounter anyone. Most days were like that for the worn soul, but today especially. He'd been approached by his only full-blooded sister, who- for the millionth time- was pestering him about his upcoming daughters birthday. A birthday which he did not want to be apart of. He'd snapped at her, demanding her to leave him alone, to stop talking to him. He had told her time and time again that he did not want anything to do with the upbringing of his offspring, and even though he'd spoken with the filly on more than one occasion, he would not accept the role of her father. It was far too painful an ordeal for him.
As he thundered through the snow, pushing himself up the steep mountain with brute force and a slither of self pity, he wondered to himself when his family would stop trying all together, when he would be able to move on from them without the constant reminder that he was a failure. The only thing he had left was the objects he managed to snag on Raids. Nothing special, just various scraps of junk he often discarded in the corners of his dens. There was no reason for him to collect it, but for some reason it gave him purpose, made him feel as though his job in the herd was enough to keep living. With furrowed brows Balthazar leaped from ledge to ledge, keeping his hooves steady and using his horns when necessary to pull himself up. The heights didn't scare him, mainly because the mountain was so secure. There was always somewhere to stand, somewhere to land if he fell. Though he made sure not to, muscles bulging as he pushed his stamina past it's ability to ensure he made it safely to his cave.

Evokar || Stone Circle
The storm raged on like Hira's Fury there would be no peace at least not for now. Eyes narrowed as everything seemed so white, just one wrong step and he could tumble off the edge, just like his mentor. All it took was just a single move and everything could end. He shook his head, his locks coated with snow seemed thick and almost dread like. Why did he think traveling near the top of mount Skeldr would help clear his mind? What was he truly thinking? The winds howled and screamed, perhaps it was his goddess Kaia shouting at him to return back home. To turn awya, but no. Evokar wouldn't at least not now. He was to fearful to turn around. His hoof steps already gone the moment he lifts a leg. In an instant he too could be gone.
One step after another he kept moving, even when his body seemed to scream and beg for mercy he walked onwards. He'd survive the storm, the rage of flurries, the cries of the wind. This was what War Forge did right? Oh how foolish he was, he was a summer's babe. Atleast thats what others would say. He was weak and pathetic and couldn't survive the terrain of Kaia's. He refused to let it be true, but he too noticed the difference between himself and others. Their head strong ways, their brash words. How they all feared nothing. Evokar was envious, he didn't think storms were battles to rage against, he sued words not action. What a summers foal he was. Ears flickered down to his skull as he stopped in his tracks. He should go back.. He was not prideful like others, why should words hurt him as such? He went to turn around and his hoof landed on nothing and suddenly he was down. He tumbled for a second before landing on another edge of the mountain.
He opened his eyes lightly and snorted as the snow packed on top of him. No mercy, bury him alive, let his legacy of nothing kill him. Yet he was war forge the blood of Kaia's. He belonged to her, as the mountains to them. He stood up and sighed with relief he was alive and well, a few cuts, but nothing that would zap him of life. He narrowed his eyes looking about the storm. The winds howled and screamed in his ears. He shook his head trying to rid it all from him, to focus. He took one more look about the mountains edge, and he stared at a side a bit longer. It looked like nothing, but he felt it was something. He moved forwards and what seemed like nothing but the edge, he walked forwards and smirked. A trick of the eye it was, as it lead to the cave the right. It was a place to rest and wait out the storm and Evokar would take it. He moved into the cave and sighed with contentment. He would survive another day.

Balthazar | Raider
The large paint was more than happy to see his hideout in view. The wind was picking up and he was just about frozen, despite his ability to withstand temperatures like this, and his rhinoceros-thick skin. He was not happy however to see the door split open, waving back and forth from the force of the snow. He squinted, trying to see past the white, in case there were any tell tail signs as to why it was open. Then he looked down, noticing hoof print. Small ones, where there was usually nothing but flat, clean snow. Another horse had traveled up here recently. He frowned, lip curling upward in anger. His large hooves ploughed over the others, rendering them non existent. He headed with furious confidence over to the makeshift door and slammed it open with his horns, allowing a large gust of wind to enter behind him, upturning his mane and tail, making him look rather horrifying. His bi-colored eyes scanned the room, and low and behold, there was an uninvited stranger sitting where he usually sat, as though the room had never belonged to the draft.
"Give me a reason I shouldn't pull your head from your neck right now." He said, tone gruff and laced with hostility. His posture was strong, muscles bulging and tensed. He stepped inward, head lowering to meet the other horses eye level. His horns were dangerously close to the others, as Balthazar eyed him with fiery gaze.

Evokar || Stone Circle
He was gaining feeling in his body, though he felt his stomach drop to the floor as another voice boomed in and it was then he spotted the large stallion. He asked him a question and he merely flickered his ears, seeing the horse was one of his own. "Surely our War Lord would frown upon that." he remarked arching a brow. Though offered him a smile. "I do not mean to intrude, I found this by accident." he remarked as he eyed the stallion once more, wishing he could recall their name and sadly he could not. He has seen so many faces and names through out his short few years in the Stone Circle at times all faces and names merged together. "I slipped and stumbled down and spotted this place from where I fell." he glanced downwards as his own legs showing them to be bruised and cut up a bit. Hoping the horse would not believe him to be a liar and kick him out in the storm once more. In all honesty, Evokar had no desire to be treading back out there, especially now since he lost his mental map of the place now that he slipped and fell.
Evokar wasn'tthe kind to get to threatend by threats. He knew his place and knew trying to fight back would leave him breathless and broken. He was no fool, he may not be fierce like most stallions, if not all in War Forge, but he's like to think he made up for it in other ways, but lately, no he wasn't really feeling that at all. As he looked to the stallion, who made sure eye contact would be made, he looked into the stallions eyes before looking away letting out a sigh. "I understand the need for solitude." he remarked it was clear to see he was not the type to fight and sure he may give in to others, but he knew what he could handle and what he could not.

Balthazar | Raider
The reaction of the stranger irritated the brute. His smile was enough to make his blood boil. This was not a friendly encounter, Balthazar was not here to negotiate or let him off on a 'warning'. The audacity this stallion had to waltz into someone else's home and bunker down for their own benefit was... it was preposterous! Balthazar was punctual, but not when his anger over powered his sense of reason. Sometimes, just sometimes he was able to be persuaded to show mercy, especially when herd members were concerned, but it would take a lot for the paint to come to respect this unicorn enough to let him stay until the storm died down. "And I'm sure that if you were to disappear, no one would know. You chose a rather solitary spot to seek shelter." His eyes were gruesomely wide, and his sharpened teeth clamped shut, tongue tracing the roof of his mouth with aggravation.
His sharp, small eyes raked down the stranger's form until they hit the injury on his leg. He cocked a brow, squinting almost judgmentally. "The journey up must have been simply treacherous." He commented almost maliciously. The only reason it must have seemed so comical to Balthazar that one would injure themselves coming up here would be because he knew the path like the back of his rump. He'd been here countless times, and the tricky maneuvers became second nature- almost reflex- when he wanted to journey this far up the mountain. 'I understand the need for solitude.' Balthazar shot the stallion a dubious look, huffing slightly. "Well you must if you're to come up here," he sneered, "idiot."
Balthazar sauntered over to the wall, a small hole in it containing skins. He tugged one out and tossed it over his back, it obviously had belonged to a bear, and only just covered the length and width of his back. A problem with being so large, in his opinion. He gave a sideways glance to the stranger in his home, "What's your name, son." He said rather than asked, "you know what, I don't care. Just get out."

Evokar || Stone Circle
It seemed he had found himself within the cave of a bear. A bear that had been awaken within the midst of its hibernation, it was angry and cranky without a doubt. Ears remained high on his prowl as the large stranger spoke its firsts remark a curious brow arose up a bit. "Surely someone in War Forge would notice. Though stranger things have happened within mountain tops." he remarked coolly. He was never the type to get aggressive and brash like other War Forge equine. They were all hot tempered and Evokar swore, none of them knew much of Kaia, the goddess of the earth and plains they roamed on. How was it all so quick to ignite, like Ignacio, but not many seemed to be calm like the rolling blades of grass, to be level headed like the meadows. No instead his brethren were all far to aggressive and angry all for reasons Evokar never fully understood. What was needed for them to be as such? Did being so hot tempered keep them warm on snowy cold days?
Every word the stallion spoke, seemed well quite the usual with Evokar, none of them matched the wrath of Bahar. He had seen her aggression and honestly he almost left his job because of it. Though he remained, because Kaia had a plan for him, whether he knew it or not. Though once the word idiot spewed from the stranger's lips, he arched a brow to him. "Surely not. Not all things are easily known to others. Because you do not understand the motives of another doesn't mean you understand them as a whole." he snorted a bit. He was used to the remarks, he was of a softer heart. He felt more then just anger and rage like many in the herd. Yet the stallion continued on with the words, and honestly Evokar himself was ready to leave, yet the storm ragged on, and there was little he could do, but wonder blindly out there. As far as he knew, he was inside now and the behemoth was blocking his way out. Though his odds were as such, stay inside and possibly get beaten up, or go out in the storm and possibly die... most likely die. No, he'd rather stick his chances with the brute before him.
"Im Evokar, part of the stone circle. You?" he remarked. Odd how the stallion demanded for him to get out, but yet there he was still before him. So Evokar remained where he was, not so easily subdued to the threats of others. He has heard such things and worse, he could handle this, even if his bones and body could not. His mind, yes, that would forever remain untouched by them all.

Balthazar | Raider
'Surely someone in War Forge would notice.' Balthazar scoffed, keeping his back turned to the small unicorn paint. He brought out a large wooden bowl and placed it above his makeshift stove; made of clay and metal. It didn't work well, but Balthazar was not picky, and whether his meal was cold or not did not bother him. He brought out a dozen potatoes, and some other vegetables he'd gotten from the markets a while back. He tossed them all into the bowl, left the cave for a moment, returned with water and poured it in. He then proceeded to boil it- as best he could with what he had. He wasn't a good cook, he had no particular idea on what should be done to make a meal, he just... did what he felt he should do. No one had taught him, and he didn't find it necessary to ask for help. He was happy with how he ate, and that was that. Simple.
The large stallion didn't understand why the other- Evokar- was persistent on getting along. Balthazar would have if he hadn't been bombarded in his own home by him. He always held respect for his fellow herd members, but he was the one to choose whether he showed it or not depending on how said being has treated him. So far Evokar was not painting a pretty picture. But, he would understand why the smaller stallion had come to choose Balthazar's home to stay in, for he was weak and could not brave the storm. It all made sense. He sighed, rolling his eyes as he chucked another bear skin over his back. He'd planned to eat and then sleep, but that seemed impossible until Evokar left, and that wouldn't happen until the storm rolled by. He was right though, if he let him back out into the storm, and he- by some grace of god- made it back to town, Balthazar may face punishment. He didn't want that. All he wanted was to remain a shadow in the face of the night.
With that, he grunted, obviously frustrated, and returned to his supper. He dished it out- only having one other smaller bowl. He fetched it and filled it with steaming potatoes and vegetables, they'd actually turned out ok. If you ignored the watery broth they were floating in. He placed the smaller bowl on the bed side table, leaving the other sitting beside him on the bench. "There. Eat that." He said, digging into his. It was a massive bowl- it had to be for his body weight. His sharpened teeth gnashed the soft foods easily, and he was already half done in under twenty seconds. "It's Balthazar, by the way." He added, voice gruff. As he ate, he kept his keen eyes on Evokar, brows furrowed and gaze piercing.

Evokar || Stone Circle
To say he felt unwelcomed was an understatement. He felt so beneath this stallion, that he was a mere fly that this large stallion could easily swat away. Kill him on impact, and yet here they were. The tension growing more and more, and words just couldn't fill the void. Curved ears flickered back a bit as the large stallion worked his stove and seemed to be making something. Evokar was not a cook at all in all honesty. He didn't really need to eat as much as others and he could be found gnawing on bits of bark. He didnt bother to cook much and he had well a knack for plants he didnt mind to eat them raw. Though his attention was keen as he watched him work. Water boiling and he added in the vegetables.
Soon the area seemed to be filled with heat from the stove and cooking. Nostrils flared as he took in the scents. It smelled good he thought to himself. Though ears and brow alike perked upwards as he offered him a bowl, well more or less gestured to his own side of the makeshift home. Evokar couldn't help, but smile. Surely this was a good sign? He didnt have to fed him or let him stay. He could kick him out without a second thought. "Thank you." he remarked with a dip of his head respectfully to the larger stallion. He moved towards the bowl and took a bite, and sighed happily to himself. It was warm, and it seemed to breath life into him.
He spoke his name and Evokar nodded all the more. "Thank you Balthazar." he nodded all the more. He was in debt honestly. "If there ever comes the time I can help you, please do not fret to ask. I know many of equines. I guess being apart of the Stone Circle you being to know everyone at some point." he mused to himself. "I owe you, and I know it's not much. But Im grateful." he spoke gently, before chowing down on the food in the bowl, not minding one bit of the broth but seemed to enjoy the liquid and he sighed out, letting fine mist grow before him. Evokar considered himself lucky today. Kaia had allowed him to survive, but he had to wonder, for how long?

Balthazar | Raider
A gruff breath left Balthazar's parted lips as he finished his meal, just as Evokar began to nip at his own. He nudged his bowl away with his horn before leaning down and scratching his foreleg with it. He massive hooves echoed through the small cave with every step, and he blinked naively toward Evokar, as though he didn't know what to do next. The amount of sincerity and gratefulness in this unicorn made Balthazar frown with frustration. He didn't mind the fact that Evokar was thankful to the larger stallion for letting him stay- which Balthazar wouldn't admit to anyway- he appreciated being respected, he appreciated what he'd said. But, it was too... much. Too soft, too tender. Balthazar would not be proud if he had a son who grew up to be so soft in the center. If one was to survive in this harsh climates, Balthazar believed one must be strong on the inside too, cold, like the temperatures they lived in and had to deal with every day.
He nodded back before subtly rolling his bi-colored eyes. He was surprised Evokar actually liked what he'd made for him, it was bland, and had barely any taste. The only reason Balthazar ate it was because it's all he had, and he was very used to it by now, after years and years of making the same meal five times every day.
The grey paint made his way over to the door and jarred it open, instantly it flung to the side, harsh winds forcing it almost off it's hinges. He knew the door wouldn't fly off though, he'd built it with an extremely strong metal combination. He breathed out, the wind carrying his mane in every direction possible atop his neck. He ducked back inside, and pulled the door closed with little to no effort at all. He turned around, obviously unimpressed by Kaia's choice to have Evokar stay in his home like a parasite. He looked around the room before ducking back out into the storm, head turned downward and horns slicing through the thick sleet. He returned minutes later with a thick loop of twine filled with tightly pack logs on his back. Hastily he threw them to the floor and moved toward the stove, lighting it. He transformed it into a fireplace by removing the metal plate that acted as an oven door, making the space big enough to fit larger logs. He removed the stove top, and before long smoke was rising through it, funneled through another contraption Balthazar had made so the smoke would escape the house through the roof, not accumulate throughout the room. As it began to warm up, he removed the furs from his back and sat back down.
"This should get going properly soon." He said, refusing to look at the brown paint. He could accept that he was here as long as he didn't have to see him being here.
