Navjeev Fleet Footed Windracer While most windracers were flagged down to do deliveries and messages, or neighbors found their resident delivery equines, there was also a small building in the center of Osalus that many horses brought their packages and letters to. A few equines well versed in writing would sort these, writing out who they were for, where, and sometimes descriptions of the recipient of the packages. Windracers without a current delivery could always pop a head in and see if someone had something for them, occasionally it was empty, and some days it was busy, all depended on the day.
Navjeev found himself bored. He hadn’t had anything to do in a few days, and those he normally raced were nowhere to be found. He needed something to do, and fast. His mother was out on a job treated a sick patient with her new apprentice, and his dad was busy painting. His sisters were off doing whatever it was they did, nowadays the eldest usually tended to her young foals, and if the other one wasn’t at her job, she was often hanging out with her girlfriend. His cousins were also busy, Clerval was out trading, and Kat, well she was probably doing some important guard duty. She rarely had time to spend with him lately.
Nav wanted to be a family man. But he was still young. He wanted to explore and see things first before he settled down. Besides, his heart was also for Alya. He couldn’t see someone old than him seeing him as a mature person for a relationship, and he couldn’t see anyone his age understanding that devotion. He was only 16.
Turning his mind from the relationships of his family, he decided to go see if there were any deliveries today. It was early, and the saying was the early bird gets the worm, and Nav was not going to let someone else take all the good jobs before he could. While he couldn’t rind his windboard through the streets, he carried folded up at his side, his teke glowing grey green around it. It fascinated him how some equines had different colored teke, while his matched his eyes perfectly. And his eyes were the perfect mix of his mother’s emeralds and his fathers stormy grey blue.
He laughed at himself as he sped through the streets, it was crazy how his mind never stopped going, always with new thoughts. As he got to the delivery building, he slipped his large frame inside, a snort on his lips. He was an oddity among windracers, a bulky frame not usually built for speed and grace that was associated with the job. As he stepped to the counter, he noticed a large pile behind it, jackpot!
“Where’s all that going?” He asked, judging the pile and wondering if he could manage to take it all. “Ahh not too far. A band of traders making camp about a day’s trot south. Extra goods they needed and the trader that was taking it fell ill.” The unicorn behind the counter said, a beautiful sandy mare. Taking another look at the pile Navjeev sighed. He didn’t have a cart, only his board, so this was going to be a two equine job. “Nothing else going?” he asked. The shake of the unicorn’s head was enough of an answer for Nav as he sighed again and rested his frame against the wall. Great, he hated travelling with someone. They usually couldn’t keep up with him and he liked going his pace. Sure he would slow down for someone else but he felt it was a waste of time. Still, he had nothing better to do so he might as well take this job. Now all he had to do was wait for someone else to come along looking for a job to help him out.
