{ } There is tearing of sinew and cracking of bones. MThere is tearing of sinew and cracking of bones. Monserrat shutters at the sound of injured and potentially dying, it left a sickening twist in their stomach. This is the cost of war, the cost of their freedom and their lives. Their optimistic attitude begins to wane as there begins to be a body count. They had been picked to lead this venture and they wonder if that means every the blood of every dead Aodhian will be on their head. Do they have families? They wonder, Will they hate us for protecting our friends? Monse is pulled from their attention when they spot the blue furia. They don’t pay much mind to Predwin as they already whip out their fighting stick and then start to make their move. “Let’s go Screech,” they call, their voice lacking that chipper step, that note of optimism. What is there to be gleeful about? This is war and it feels pointless to try and find some glory beyond protecting their herd mates. Monse’s obnoxiousness fades into raw determination. They dive and tuck their wings close to their sides as Screech flies beside them and they come down on the blue furia. With one violent thrust they slam down their stick onto it’s head beside one of their hooves and they hear a sickening CRACK! Their stomach churns.. “TITO!” They call as the furia lashes back at them, fire licking at their legs and they try to pull away from the creature, their wings flapping in an uncoordinated mess as they feel the singeing of skin from the monster. ----------------------------------- Notes;

His body was failing, he could feel it. But his team mates needed him, his home needed him! Panting hard the black and white equine watched the scenes unfold around him. Bodies where falling and fighting, blood soaking the sand and stinging the air with a copper metallic scent. Fire did little to help waver the heat and smell. His mind was struggling to make sense of the wreckage around him. Yet the younger equine, while he felt his mind falling and the scenes etching hard within his memories, heard his name being screamed over the sand.
Head lifted, long forelock slick with sweat and other fluids rose like a serpent and slicked against the back of his ear. "Monserrat!" He cried out, hooves digging into the sand and pushing forward. Muscles screamed and protested, his wings felt like lead as he begged them to push forward. Sand flew up around the young Fury as he came to the aid of the brightly colored pegasus, smelling the searing of fire against hide and skin.
With a shriek of his own, a sound Tito had no idea he could produce, he reared up and brought his front legs down hard onto the skull of the blue glowing fire dog. Yet, that crack he had felt before did not come and a dread pooled in his stomach. A sharp pain exploded in his front leg, the teeth of the creature he had just attacked, biting into the limb. He screamed and reared, trying to get away. Large wings of the thunder bird beside him tried to blow out the fire but it seemed useless.

With the equine she had distracted being beheaded, Creosote took a moment to catch her breath. She looked over at the wound she'd received from the now very dead handler.
It wasn't horrible, but it would need to be bandaged. Looks like before Tito managed to completely disarm him, he'd gotten a good cut in with his weapon before she was out of his reach. The crimson blood dripped lazily from the wound, already beginning to clot.
Her eye was drawn across the battlefield, taking in the fights with the other furia, before she found her gaze landing squarely on the one clad in blue flames.
She watched as it's black skull jaws start clamping down onto Titos leg, oh hell no, not on her watch. She spiraled up, before angling her wings down to angle herself to collide with the blue flaming dog in a swift pass. She whistled to screech, making sure eye contact between her and the thunderbird was made, before going in.
Feeling the sands brush against her hoof as she skimmed the ground, barely airborne, she closed in. "TITO, GET READY TO MOVE!" She yelled out over the sounds of battle. Black feathered wings pumped to raise herself to be just above the furia, then she struck.
Her back hoof collided with the black skull with a resounding crack, followed up by a smack from Screech, and it was enough to make the furia change targets. It wasn't long before she could feel the searing heat begin to catch up, and a flaming paw swipe at her flank. The immediate pain sent her skidding into the sands, but her adrenaline managed to get her to her feet the briefest of glances showed her upper right leg with singed fur and burning skin. That would hurt in the morning, provided they all lived to see it. Speaking of living, that furia was closing in fast, angry blue flames showing on the skull, with a very visible crack around one of the eye sockets. She wasn't sure if she'd be able to raise a hoof in time to break it.
Quickly glancing around, she spotted Ruani nearby. "Ruani!" she called out, attempting to get to her hooves quick enough if he didn't manage to destroy the skull before she got up.
(Creo hit blue with her 75 vitality, Screech was used to assist, so the 80 vitality required was hit.
Creo is now at 50 vitality, which is technically her new cap because of the injury cuased by blue)

The fighting with that blue fire dog seemed exhausting. Three hits in, one from Mon, one from the young Tito, and another then Creo came in, getting the beast out of Tito’s feathers. Ruani was already moving by the time Creo called out to him, after seeing her go down in the sands. His armor was tight, even with the gash and he was reading to cave that blueberry’s skull in.
“Hey Screech!” Ruani shouted towards the thunderbird that had been helping them attack the furia. He was one of the older thunderbirds, definitely more battle warn than the others. Knowing this Ruani called, “Help me pin him in the rocks!”
He rushed at the furia, feeling Screech take up position with a beat of his massive wings. He whooped loudly, making the furia swivel around and regard him with cool, blue pits where eyes should be. Creepy. Creepier still when it started running at him. Well as long as it got the dog off Creo. As he turned to run, wanting the dog to follow him, a shot whizzed past him, tearing through his googles and cutting into the skin below. Ruani didn’t process it, just pivoted and ran even before the arrow landed in the sand. That damn archer. He ran towards the rocks, Screech bringing in the furia’s tail. The heat was radiating off that blue bastard, and Ruani was pretty sure he might have some singed tail hairs to trim up tomorrow. Still determined, Ruani ran straight at the rocks like the beast was trapping him, but at the last second, he kicked off the rocks and flipped around.
All he had to do was get to the furia’s side. Break that crack over the eye socket with one kick. Screech backed up the side, leaning over the rock face effectively cutting off above and to the side. The furia, seeming to realize there was no place to go, turned to Ruani, right as he reared back, wings outstretched, and sent his front hooves through the furia’s skull. It shattered in a hail of black shards and the fire surged out one last time before winking out of existence. Ruani went back on all fours with a huff and looked at Screech with a slight grin. Man, he needed a vacation after this.

See patience is a virtue,
and I'm all out of time right now.
Leaving the amber Furia to their fate, Sheva extended her leathery wings, and took rapidly to the skies as she felt a lick of flame begin to traverse up her hind leg, causing her to yank and pull it away instinctively at the touch; recalling Golgotha's rapid fall from glory in graphic detail as the scent of burning hair filled her nose once more.
Wheeling in the air, Sheva turned her attention to Monserrat and their combatant. She let herself plummet back to the ground, utilising gravity to crash headfirst into the unsuspecting Furia.
The creature didn't even have time to cry out.
The pegasus felt her hooves shift from bone to sand, the skull shuddering and cracking beneath her weight. There was a warm rush of hot air that surrounded her as the flames cavorted almost desperately around her, as though making a last-ditch attempt to smother her, then dispersed, vanishing from sight.
Panting, Sheva attempted to survey the battlefield once more as ichor - no doubt a mix of her own and those they fought - dripped steadily from her side.

Down went another enemy, the blue skull dog falling just as the others turned towards their next enemy. That was when Predwin saw his chance. The others had already trapped the yellow one before turning towards big blue, which meant that it was free for the taking.
These bastard fire dogs were going to get what they deserved! Finally, it was time for the roadrunner pegasus to show off what he could do, though he was more than certain that he wouldn't be the one to end the stupid beast. Sweeping down from the skies, the stallion zipped through the carnage towards the poor trapped creature.
It didn't even see him coming. The fires of the creature licked at the stallions wings as he aimed his hoof at it's face, the heat causing Predwin to worry that he was going to somehow end up like Gogo, burned and in need of help.
"CALABUNGA DUDES!"
As hoof made contact with skull, those thoughts slowly dissipated, there was nothing to worry about, the creature was trapped anyway. The stallion screeched as he maneuvered his way up and away from the battle once more. His body was on fire with adrenaline.
This, this was the reason why he was a fury. He turned back, looking to see if the creature was still up and ready to go, preparing to call down and let somebody know the damn thing was weak.
He didn't need to do that though, as he quickly realized the yellow monster was dead. Post 4 | Word Count: 260 Predwin attacks Yellow Yellow is Dead!!

Everything was going on swimmingly with the little yellow fuck. The fiery beast was beginning to become annoyed with Rowin's antics of kicking up sand, lunging foreword with his broad sword, then using his mighty wings to jump out of the yellows range. But as the toying went on Rowin noticed something, yellow was cunning enough to try and wait him out. "Smart little shit." Rowin muttered as he noted that the fiery fuck was conserving its energy. "Well at least you're smarter than your master." Rowin told the beast with a snort. Hearing a sudden whoop and holler Rowin looked up. Watching Predwin shatter the Furias' charcoal colored skull was STUNNING. As the skull seemed to disintegrate under the Furies hoof, and the fiery body was snuffed out like a candle, Rowin let out a victory whoop before snapping his golden wings open and taking to the sky, following suit behind Predwin. "Fantastic blow!" He called to his Comrade, followed by a chuckle as he went up and up into the sky and took a moment to survey the killing grounds. His right eye was of no use to him any more as it seemed he could not clear it. His gaze moved around quickly before noticing Syel and a green furai hot on her trail. Rowin was flying at breakneck speeds to help the white Pegasus. Rowin landed between syel and the green furai, a bit harder than he wanted to. His knees hurt from the super hero like landing he pulled. He grimaced for a moment before rearing up and locking eyes with the green beast. His heavy draft hooves came down together, landing right on the inky black dog skull and crushing it. He felt the warm air let loose from the beast as its body just stopped being and disappeared. Rowin was breathing hard for a moment, trying to catch his breath now that that was over. He looked over at Syel and nodded to the mare and took a few steps foreword. Rowin uses slam, its super effective! The green machine is dead. riiiiiiipppp. - 25 strength for Rowin

After the whole fight with the blueberry, Ruani decided to take a breather in the air. He was trying to get the wound over his eye to stop bleeding so he could like see out of it and make clean out the glass that had shattered. He ended up just pushing his goggles back as he wiped at the wound. His eye seemed fine, but looked like he was going to have a scar for all his troubles. He kept an eye on that bowed Aodh. Swooping around to keep her and her angry, short and zappy friend at bay while the rest of the furies took out the remaining fire dogs.
When the green one went down under Rowin, Ruani sensed a turn in the tide. The young lightning wielder looked noticeable frazzled. This might have been her first real fight and while Ruani felt bad for her that didn’t mean he could go easy on her. He caught a thermal and rode it up higher, hoping it was out of bow range while he thought. She had a short sword, so getting in close would be hard for him without any long ranged weapons. Well. Not that he had weapons besides his hooves and clawed wings. But that also meant it would be hard for his teammates to get in to. He needed to get that weapon out of her hands. Better for her not to have a lightning rod to channel her sparks into anyway.
Lightning flashed in the distance, and Ruani realized that if that storm rolled over towards them, it just might give Stripes some added juice. His muscles ached from the battle already and the wound still leaked into his eye. He knew he would be running dry sooner rather. So would the other furies. He needed to use his speed and end this quick. With one last glance to the horizon, Ruani sent off an ever so short pray, Ignacio just give us ten more minutes. Just ten more. And then he dove straight at the Aodh.
Plummeting from really high, really fast, tends to give you the element of surprise and that people really just don’t look up much, so it really made for a good technique. Ruani snapped out his wings before the ground and twisted to the side, running one claw into the sand and showering the Aodhian in sand. Shocked, she reared back, swiping sand from her eyes and her teke grip on her sword loosened ever so slightly. Still using the tail end of the dives momentum, Ruani snatched it from her grip and shot back up before she could recover. She still shot a bolt of lightning in his direction for good measure, but Ruani was too high by then. He tested the sword lightly in his teke and could feel little bits of electricity still linger on the metal pommel. It felt strangely nice in Ruani’s grip.

Syel | Fury Post 4 | WC 500
So… Talon’s help didn’t go exactly as expected.
The red thunderbird did manage to distract the lime-green furia, stealing its attention just long enough for Syel to put at least some distance between herself and the hellish hound, but she wasn’t the only one in need of assistance. As other winged comrades called out for Talon, the thunderbird was ultimately stretched thin and forced to turn his efforts elsewhere as soon as he felt that the young fury had gained enough wingbeats ahead of her pursuer. Little Greenie might have chased after Talon if Syel wasn’t still in his peripheral vision. One flap of her wings and he was back at her heels again (although thankfully much farther way.)
Now all of Syel’s focus was lent to sheer memory on every flight maneuver Creo had taught her so far, doing her best to keep Greenie at a safe distance while occasionally confusing him with the various flips and turns she took through the air. In an effort to take the lime-demon off guard she dove toward the ground before flying in a straight line again, hovering just above the desert floor. Maybe this way she could get him to run headfirst into a rock. Or--
--or better yet Rowin who slammed down between them like a total badass?!
With one heavy slam of his hooves, the fire puppy's skull shattered, its life quite literally going up in smoke and flames before it disappeared completely.
Syel managed to break out of her awed stupor as soon as Rowin threw her a nod. She responded with one of her own, grinning from the epic victory they'd accomplished together before taking back into the air. Rowin was cool! She would have to tell him so, later.
The plan for now was simple. Find a good view of the battlefield again, and see who needed her help this time. Easy enough. Doable! She was on a roll, after all!
But as the young fury had come to learn through the events of this battle thus far… things had a way of not going as planned.
Syel let out a breathless, voiceless squeak as she was forced to suddenly duck, causing her to drop a few feet before regaining balance in the air. Was one of those furias spitting curving fireballs at her now?! Just what were these dogs capable of—
Oh.
Nope.
Nope, it was an Aodhian Pegasus. That grinning, frill-feathered traitor to the Wind Mother was trying to take her down, too. Oh, she would show her. As soon as the--
--stupid Aodhian--
--could stop twirling around and let Syel get a good damn lock on her already--
--GODS DAMMIT!!!
Oh, she was so going to give that peg a piece of her mind by the time she got her hooves on her...
...Oh! Wait! A friend! Syel was in great need of one, now. Frill-feather's aerial moves were just a class above her own, and gaining the advantage over her in this fight was not something the fury could accomplish by herself.
Syel tapped Coo’s wingtip with hers as she zipped past him. Please don’t ditch me!!!

Body collapsed down to the sand as everyone around him kept fighting. Yet Tito was done. His strength was gone and his body was rebelling. His wings barely worked, limp on the warm sand. The small microscopic pebbles shifted over his feathers, threading through the small spaces as if they where water. He wanted to just melt into the sand, be given a break... A spattering of dust and dirt rained down over his form as the world seemed to move in slow motion. His front leg was both burned and bleeding from the furia's bite. Sand stained with blood from multiple wounds and horses, his own mind hardly able to catch up. This was such... A traumatic thing...
A pain suddenly exploded from his flank, the slow motion world crashing down over his head like a tidal wave. He clambered to his feet, a shriek having left his throat as he turned to face the one who had hurt him. A blonde cream unicorn notched another arrow on her bow and grinned through a laugh. "No sleeping on the job, Suga'!" Her tease drove the pegasus to snort and toss his head. Feeling like lead would have to wait.
Hooves dug into the ground, whistling for Coo, the closest Thunderbird, to come to his aid. Wings flapped but he couldn't take off, and instead charged the archer head on. The unicorn turned to run and came face to face with the massive bird instead. It gave the colorful pegasus enough time to dash forward and knock his shoulder into her own, teeth going for her throat only to feel the bow between them. Gripping them he CRUNCHED down and felt the material give way to the pressure, rendering the unicorn disarmed. But now, Tito stood with an Arrow in his flank and his front leg bleeding heavily, exposed and tired.

Syel | Fury Post 5 | WC 428
Oh goddammit it was happening again.
Coo ditched her. Coo ditched her and she didn’t even know what for, this time. She had no time to look, not with Frill-feathers forcing her to dash for her life, so from her perspective there was no clear reason for this unjust ditching!
And Syel scarcely had the time to make heads or tails of where they were or where she was heading, either. All that mattered now, intensely, was avoiding the Aodhian’s fiery spits, which of course made fighting her a nigh impossible challenge right now. Every time the young fury thought she’d found an opening, Frill-feathers would counter her maneuver with one of her own and there went another fireball. Some of Syel’s feather tips were starting to get singed. And Syel, herself, was starting to get angry.
When another flame shot straight between her ears, the fury made a sharp turn to face the cocky Aodh peg, bearing her teeth at the sight of her smirk. Frustration was chipping away at her common sense, and she was starting to think that charging straight into her opponent would be of great satisfaction to her, fireballs and absent teammates be damned.
But it seemed as though Syel was not quite as forgotten as she’d thought.
A rush of wind gusted against her hooves as Coo made his epic return, soaring up from underneath the both of them and using his massive beak to yank at one of Frill-feather’s wings! The Aodhian let out a startled shriek as she dangled helplessly from the thunderbird’s jaws, before he tossed her out into the open. Flailing, unbalanced, and at an excellent disadvantage.
Seeing her window and throwing all common sense to the wind, Syel flung herself onto Frill-feathers, kicking at the open wing with her hind hooves as her forelegs grew entangled with the enemy’s. Down the two of them dropped, gaining more and more speed as they plummeted further away from Coo’s dismayed stare.
F-ck, Syel hadn’t planned for this. Her only goal had been to injure the Aodhian’s wing and force her to land, but the enemy Pegasus was intent on taking her with her. Now the fury struggled to escape her hold as the both of them kicked at each other. Searing heat flew past her cheek and against her side, and Syel screamed. A voiceless, enraged, primal scream that ripped from the Marwari’s throat as she lunged with her teeth for Frill-feather’s neck. The bite was aimed poorly and was nowhere close to killing, but it was—hopefully—painful.

Monserrat felt the searing pain in their legs, the fire dog had scorched and burnt their skin. Exhaustion was beginning to creep up swiftly but they knew adrenaline would kick in again.. It had to, they had to lead this team until the end. This time they fly with Coo, spotting Tito off in the distance with an Aodhian.
They inhale deeply and then summon the remainder of their strength to fly, their wings throbbed and their legs begged for reprieve but they forced them onward. “Do it for Ma..” They whispered to themself until they came up on the Aodhian, Coo at their side as they go.
Monserrat veers towards the left and decides to put what brains they have to use. They find a rock structure and swiftly land before thrusting their weight into it, the rocks. They can hear the tumble and wait for the nauseating sound of crunching.. God please don’t die, They beg to themself internally, not quite able to handle the thought of murdering another individual. Monse pants, taking in each breath slowly as they stare down at Jupiter. “Gotcha,” they say down to the aodhian.

In Ruani’s opinion, everyone was doing pretty good. Sure, Syel was a bit singed and so was Mon, but all of the tough furia’s were down and it looked like they’d gotten a hit in on every one of the furia’s handlers too. They were going to end it soon, Ruani could tell, and that was good. Everything hurt and his cut was bothering him, but at least the bleeding had mostly stopped. The adrenaline was running out and he was left feeling shaky, his wing beats coming harder and harder. He flexed his claws, trying to will the jitters to stop.
As Ruani circled high above, something caught his eye. On the edge of the battle, one of the thunderbirds was struggling. Ruani squinted and circled around to look with the eye that wasn’t nearly closed with dried blood. The last furia was snapping at Twitter, who was struggling to take flight. Maybe an arrow? He had enough fight left in him for one more rescue, especially for one of their birds, so he pitched down into another dive. He did’ go as steep this time and was glad. It hurt to pull out, throwing his wings back in large downbeats to free up the momentum as he swung his back legs forward. He let off a screech as he kicked at the furia, sending it away from Twitter. Ruani landed heavy and let out an exhausted huff as the furia turned to circle him. Not wanting to be rounded on, Ruani put Twitter to his back and reared, using the stolen sword to extend his reach. The blade went into an eye socket and the furia opened its mouth in a silent howl of rage. Ruani advanced, shoving the blade in deeper and then, with the last of his strength, ripped it to the side. The skull shattered and the fire went out.
Ruani slumped to the ground and didn’t have to open his eyes to feel Twitter move over him. The thunderbird pushed him with their beak and then gestured to the arrow sticking out of their shoulder, right at the base of the wing. Ruani grimaced, “Sorry bro, but if I pulled that out, I’d just make it worse. I’ll get you some help, bud,” he turned back towards the battle and saw Rowin kinda close by. Rowin was good with medical stuff, right? “Hey Rowin! Come here!”

Rowin listened behind himself, hearing Syel move quickly away. He breathed a sigh of relif knowing the young mare was alright and continuing on with the mission. Now Rowin was focusing on the carnage of war lad out in front of him. Small desert shrubbery was smoldering from the fire dogs presence. Smoke filled the air and seemed to choke him now that his adrenaline was falling. He heard one of his brethren a screech and tried to locate who it was. With some awkward steps Rowin broke into a trot before stumbling over a body. He looked down to find the corpse he had ended with his own blade that felt so damn heavy on his back. He didn't look for long at the bloody mess he continued on.
Hearing his name being called Rowin looked around before spotting Ruani, 'Hes alive thank Cascade.' ROwin thought as he made his way over. "Gods, I'm glad to see you in one piece." He told the smaller stallion before noticing his eye injury. In a half hearted attempt to lighten the mood Rowin smirked and said "Nice eye." HIs own right eye was still unable to open. But quickly that humor was gone as he looked at Twitter. "Fuck." He mumbled before removing his helmet. "Alright... Were going to carefully remove the arrow from the same trajectory it came. Then We'll have to stop any bleeding since it will instantly start.. well gushing. Ruani, hold Twitters wing down. Twitter, try not to send Ruani flying and be as still as you can alright? On three," Rowin tried to remember how Ra did it "One.." 'Carefully.' "Two..." 'Quickly.' "Three!" He said and pulled the arrow head out with his teke and used a rag to put on Twitters open wound now leaking with blood. "Hold still!" He told the thunderbird as it jostled around in pain. It took too long for Rowin liking before signaling for Ruani to he could be done. Carefully Rowin wrapped the rag around Twitter and took a step back. "It wont hold long, but it can get you through this and to see a proper medic." He told the bird.
Rowin used 40 Wisdom to free Twitter!

Syel | Fury Post 6 | WC 629
Twitter scrutinized the bandage as she tested her wing, flexing it a few times before finally blinking in approval and nodding her thanks. However, her feathers ruffled at the sound of a shrill battlecry. The thunderbird whipped her large head in the direction of the scream, and without another glance shot off into the air with a running sprint. ~~~
Syel’s ears flattened, her eyes wide and round with panic. While the injury on Frill-feather's throat prevented her from spewing out anymore fire, the Aodhian had doubled down on her grip. Teke yanked at Syel’s mane and wings, preventing her from escape. Frill’s own injured wing waved limply at her side as the two continued their descent.
“Thought you could, let me die alone?” the Pegasus spat, her voice strained with pain. “F-cking… Seroran. Like Grandad would say… Fire… fire burn your wings to ash.” And in that moment—staring into the frightened, defiant eyes of her enemy—the young fury was very inclined to believe her. To believe that she was, in fact, about to die.
And then Twitter’s claws clasped around them.
Alive... Alive, alive, I'm alive!
The grab was a clumsy one, made at a moment’s notice out of necessity, but Syel was too dizzy with relief to mind the uncomfortably tight hold on her belly. The ground had ceased rising to meet her. She was… okay! She was okay, and was going to live, and now Creo and Mom and Dad wouldn’t have to pluck her soul off Alya’s wind to scold her all at once! And the unthinkable had happened. A thunderbird had actually caught her without, you know, eating her. Or even scratching her. What amazing luck!
Frill-feather wasn’t so lucky. As Twitter released them at a safe distance just above desert ground, Syel could see her stumbling over the low shrubbery. The thunderbird’s talons had scraped her shoulder, and blood welled at the large scratches.
They locked eyes again—she hadn't meant to, Syel had been more focused on her wounds than hungry for another fight— but the Aodhian’s feather’s flared with a newfound burst of rage. Her teeth flashed and she charged Syel.
The Marwari was poorly prepared for the attack. She was still limping from her earlier brawl with the red furia, and the agony of the fireball’s burns along her side was beginning to creep in as the adrenaline wore off. When Frill-feathers reared and lashed out with her forehooves, Syel couldn’t muster the reflex to jump back.
One hoof made its mark, smashing against Syel’s right eye and bringing her attention back onto the battle. The fury reared to meet her and, taking advantage of the Aodhian’s stumbling, knocked her prone with a punch of her wing-- biting her lip to cope with the new source of pain. She couldn’t even pity Frill-feathers without the damn peg continuing to piss her off.
Twitter, having no more patience for this, pinned Frill there with her foot. The thunderbird turned and regarded Syel with an irate squint, waiting for her to put an end to this annoyance.
“NO! Let me go!”
Syel made a sharp inhale through her teeth. Everything hurt, she was still reeling from the aerial battle, and to be frank she was just as sick of the Aodhian as Twitter was. But in spite of all of this, she didn’t want her to die. Frill-feather’s mention of a ‘grandad’ had made her think of Tahla. Reminded her that these soldiers—enemies as they were—were people, too. People she hated.
...But people, still.
She endured one last glower from Frill-feathers before delivering a quick sock to her head, knocking the Pegasus unconscious. One of the folk immediately stepped in with ropes at the ready.
Twitter took off, returning to Rowin, and Syel took this hard-earned moment of reprieve to rub at her eye with the wrist of her wing. Ohgods, she could barely see through it. It was bruised and swollen and her vision was compromised for it, now. Just great.
F-cking… Aodhian.

Rowin stood back and watched the thunderbird. The female opened her wings experimentally. Rowin gave her an all clear nod and stepped back with Ruani. He watched the thunderbird ruffle her feathers and take off into the sky, off to help someone else. Rowin put his helmet back on “they can’t have that much more fight in them.” He asked aloud and looked at Ruani “Can they?”
Slowly the Aodhnians army was being crushed underneath the Furies hooves. There was an angry screem and Twitter was back in the air showing off as she returned to her place next to Rowin and Ruani. Rowin thought his part was over till he felt a pair of hooves slam into his flank causing him to stumble to the side. Turning he looked at a small golden colored Zebra who looked piiiiiissed. “That was for killing my captain!” She shouted and ran at him again, Rowin took a step back, he could not fight a child! But the zebra lept off the ground and grabbed Rowins throat in her jaws. All senses were lost as Rowin reared up, wings flaring, before falling back hard on the ground. Tilda then used a small dagger to stab into his underbelly. A roar of pain came from Rowin as the blade ripped through his skin. Rowin slammed his head down into his neck, crushing Tildas and got up quickly. The small zebra seemed dazed for a moment as Rowin pushed her off. But with a shake of her head she looked at him with pure rage. She screeched and threw a blade that clacked into his helmet and made Rowins ears ring. As she ran at him again, daggers flying Rowin knocked her down with his wing and then grabbed her crest. The moment his fangs slid into her flesh venom was released. He dropped her at his hooves. “Stay down. You’re only a child you have so much more to do rather than just die on this field.” He hissed.

Circling through the skies above, the stallion couldn't help but check to see if there were any other breaks in the battle. There weren't many left... actually, from what he could tell, there was just one dumb Aodhian to take down and then it was over.
Pred watched as the smaller horse fell beneath Rowin, the use of his venom abilities obvious as the poor creature attempted to stand up. Anger flooded through the stallion briefly, his mind on the horses that were still running away. He couldn't let this feeble thing just get away from the fight.
He dove, not knowing that Rowin was maybe attempting to keep the younger horse alive. He hadn't heard the words, and as Twitter joined him, he couldn't help but feel overtaken by the need to protect his herd. She could have been a young teen... she could have been a full adult. He wasn't sure, nor was he about to take any chances.
He was going in for the kill.
There was a bright flash of light, overtaking the stallion in a moment as he landed the final blow, killing the final enemy. The the world went dark after that. "Fuck! Who brought out the sun and then blanketed us in night!"
He was too blind, literally, to tell if he had actually killed the horse or had just knocked the poor thing out.

“Nice eye. Ha Ha.” Ruani had rolled his eyes at Rowin, even though it hurt a bit, “Your's looks peachy too.” Tired as he was, the banter with Rowin helped and gave him a bit more strength to hold the thunderbird’s wing still. The instinctive jolt of Twitter’s massive wing sent a shockwave through Ruani, but he didn’t blame them. He would have bucked at an arrow coming out of his wing too.
Ruani shuffled back with Rowin as the thunderbird tested their wing, and managed a smile at Rowin’s question. He was too tired to reply. His knees were buckling and suddenly the heat of the desert was almost too much to bear. He wanted to join the other furies, he did, but his wings just wouldn’t pound and his friends seemed to have it under control. That was a relief.
Still, he moved towards where the trapped Aodhians were being brought and watched over by the thunderbirds. Ruani half heartedly inspected them, mostly to make sure they weren’t trying anything. He didn’t want to deal with that. Just then, something large bumped into Ruani’s shoulder. Ruani smiled as he realized the bump was more of a nuzzle from the giant bird.
“Heya, Talon,” Ruani laid heavily up against the thunderbird’s flank and surprisingly, the thunderbird pressed back. Ruani looked up at him with a grin, “You’ve got some sweet moves, we should swap tricks sometime. But gods, let’s take a break, yeah? We all deserve one after this.”

Creo managed to get up right after Ruani smashed in the skull of the blue furia. Giving a winged salute of sorts to her thunderbird winged friend as he flew off to do more damage, she took the time to collect herself, before taking off into the sky again. As she looked around, more Aodhian's fell, each one bringing more hope to her heart that they would win the day. Soon, all were dead, though the bright flash drew her attention.
Well, that was not what she expected to be yelled from her brother.
Well time to save his sorry ass, but first. She whistled to the elderly thunderbird tweet "Go heal Ruani and Rowin!" then she angled her wings to go collect her brother, who was very apparently blinded.
"Never took you for a poet!" She teased, bumping his shoulder as she landed next to him. "Here, follow my voice, the fights over, we're heading out." Tapping him on the shoulder with her teke, she took off again, and would fly off after the others once her brother came up next to her.
