Navjeev Fleet Footed Windracer Once they had all gathered, Navjeev noticed how quickly they finally went into action. Lucifer went first, and if it wasn't for the fact that he was nervous, he likely would have sprung into action just as fast. Instead, he noticed how the other windracer quickly went into the shadows, and even one of the kirins seemed just as good at hiding in those shadows as well. He grimaced, not sure what he was doing here, and his skills had nothing to do with battle. He looked over at the other kirin. With battle about to happen, he was scarier than before, and Nav was glad they were on the same side.
While he was a risk taker, he had to keep reminding himself that this was no more dangerous that his races along the edge of the city where he could plummet to his death. There, someone might have been able to save him, and here, well they were looking out for their own necks. This was no time to chicken out though, and he steeled himself, looking over the ridge at the camp.
It was smaller than he imagined, and he could already see the trajectory the other windracer was going. He figured they both had the idea to be each other's buddy in this, as they're most likely to keep up with each other. He could see shadows in the tents, and he estimated they outnumbered them, but he couldn't be sure. It was the fire in the center that drew his attention. He got a brilliant idea, and couldn't wait to put it into action.
Racing off himself, he stayed to the back, keeping an eye on who he could, while keeping his big bulk behind the tents, away from their eyes. His teke held his dagger, and he slit into the back of one of the bigger tents, relieved it was a supply tent and not a guard tent. Setting his dagger down, he proceeded to load up his board with supplies, letitng the rest of the group provide cover with their distraction. He was grateful for his dark pelt now, because it hit him better in the dark.
While he wasn't paying too much attention to the goods he was grabbing, he also was estimating the length of cloth he would need to pull off the next step. He was waiting until the guards were distracted, and then he was going to cut a strip of the tent all the way around and reach it into the fire to set the whole thing ablaze. He chuckled at the image. That was sure to put their manes in a twist. He set his mind back to the supply crates in front of him though, making sure to grab from all different places to hopefully get a variety of different supplies for his people.

Lucifer Serora l Windracer
"But he's so beautiful, Such a beautiful disaster"
References l Playlist l Moodboard
As he scouted out the camp, Lucifer took note of Navjeev slipping into the nearby supply tent. 'Good'. He thought, making a mental note to join the other wind racer soon. Slipping silently along the ground, he entered the tent closest to the larger supply tent Narjeev had disappeared into. It was dark, and the sounds of someone sleeping could be heard easily once inside. Still, Lucifer knew what he had to do. As he reached what he assumed to be the sleeping equine's pile of belongings, Lucifer quietly allowed himself to take form once more. Slowly, he began rummaging through the pile, stuffing a dagger, brooch, and a few shards into his saddle bag before grabbing the horse's sword, strapping it to his side, and melting into the shadows once more. He briefly contemplated taking the armor as well, but he quickly realized it would be too noisy. He'd already made enough noise while moving stuff around, and that would have been the final nail in the coffin. For now, he could only hope the Aodhian was a sound sleeper. Slipping out the way he came in, Lucifer hung right to join the windracer in the supply tent. While his own wind board was much smaller and didn't have a lot of room for anything extra, his saddlebags still had a lot of space, and he figured Navjeev would appreciate the help. Besides, this way he could at least say he "followed orders" and was within eye sight of another party member. Internally rolling his eyes at the thought, Lucifer emerged from the shadows inside the tent. "So, whats the plan?" He asked the older stallion in a hushed whisper, haphazardly grabbing at whatever he could get his teke on to stuff into his bags. Word Count: 296 Post # 6

Bix | Ranger Just out of eyesight of the camp, the zebra's hoofsteps stirred up small clouds of cool dust, blue in the late dusk. His ears slowly swiveled from their normalposition to a forward, alert one, the untrimmed tufts of hair warding off the small flies that tried to seek a meal inside. Their slight buzzing didn't deter him.Across the desert, night sounds were in full bloom. Insects and evening birds alike harmonized in a lullaby still foreign to him. Foreign but beautiful, nonetheless. The dim light from the camp glowed cautiously in the distance. Bix kept an ear turned in its direction, making sure he walked on the side of the threat. Hiscompanion was (thankfully) rather quiet, though his two children had been tooexcitable for the zebra's liking not long ago. He lacked experience with foalsolder than the ones he had helped birth in his time shadowing a midwife in Skelder Town. What he did know about them was that they lacked quiet. And quiet was very important to the zebra. But the two had gone silent in the cart and Bix was sure they were asleep. He watched the wary eyes of his companion meet his bow and swung it to hisother shoulder in an attempt to ease the tension a weapon usually created.Serorians were a peace-loving people. The thought of war reaching their homemust have shaken them all pretty bad. The least I can do is help him feel safer, Bix thought with a swish of his stubby tail.Scanning the surroundings, he decided that if things took a dangerous turn, his bow would prove useful. So would gaining a big of high ground on one of the rocky formations that sprouted from the sand, he decided silently. His companion could ditch his cart and climb atop one with his children if it came down to it. Would prissy Aodhians really go after a helpless parentand his children? Probably not if it meant scraped hocks. He would protect them. It was his oath.Post #4 | WC: 348

(Amaya: Vagabond Peddler)
This was it! The moment to strike, and hopefully to hinder the invading forces! Amaya watched Lucifer and Navjeev begin to head in for a stealthy sabotage, and Amaya wasn't far behind them, she turned back to see Sauron cut away from the rest, taking a different route, but didn't stop to ask any questions him, instead she merely continued on with the others. After all, the kirin seemed plenty experienced enough to know what he was doing. If he had some sort of idea in his mind, then she would gladly leave him to it.
"I'll head up the front, I can mold shadows into shapes, so I can confuse them and hide our shadows if need be. Everyone stay within eyesight if at all possible, and if you think you're going to be in trouble, remember your lives are more important than trying to sabotage our enemies."
"Right!" Amaya agreed with Amaranthe, and as they all started forward, Amaya found herself following after kirin. Since she had been one to bring up the importance of keeping one another in sight, and since Navjeev and Lucifer were obviously keeping an eye out for each other, then she supposed that Amaranthe would be as good 'buddy' as any. Especially considering that the kirin definitely seemed like she could hold her own in a fight, though Ammy had to admit she felt rather small as she tried to catch up to her temporary 'buddy'. "Don't worry! I've got your back!" She said softly to Amaranthe, then fell silent. It wouldn't do to talk too much right now.

Navjeev Fleet Footed Windracer Navjeev felt relieved as Lucifer joined him. He had gotten nervous as some of his party has melded into the shadows, so the thought of keeping a buddy system seemed impossible. He had been a bit thrown off going into it, as Nav didn't have any blessings of his own to bring to the fight. He was learning at least, and hopefully soon he would have something to show for it. As it was, he felt that this was going to help him in the long run, a good bit of experience.
As the two of them gathered cargo, he gestured to the tent flap he had cut open to slip in. He spoke quietly, he didn't really head sounds of combat going on outside, and wasn't about to give away their position now.
"I figure we can't grab much more, which means whatever is left will have to be destroyed. That big fire in the middle is the key, I was going to continue to cut the flap I made and drag it around to the fire. While they might be able to stop one of us if we just grab a branch to bring back to light everything, but if we get the tent up in flames, it should get big fast and take down everything else with it. I was going to wait until the others attacked, and also do the same to the other tent."
He peeked out, and saw movement from their other companions. "Shouldn't be long now." He settled some crates more tightly onto his board, grabbing out some straps to hold them in place. His teke brought his dagger out. While he preferred to use the throwing knives to give him some distance, in the ensuring scramble, he was sure to lose them. It occurred to him that no one was going to outright attack, they were just going to destroy and protect, fleeing if needed. Shit, he was thinking too fast and didn't catch all that. "Wait, they're not going to start a skirmish, damn am I stupid, missed that entirely. Alright, well, I have my daggers, we could start a fire in here perhaps?"
His mid was racing, too many plans. "Or one of us could make a distraction while the other lights things up?" His eyes fell on some of the crates, and he opened them, muttering to himself. "Maybe we can find some oil. We need smoke, lots of it to cover our escape unless we somehow kill them." He stopped as a box supplied him with the answer he needed. Oil. He didn't care if it was for lamps or who knows what, but he found it, and would use it. "Bingo." His face lit up with a smile as he grabbed as much as he can. "We're turning these into bombs. Grab some of these, use them to make flame trails towards all the tents, chaos right?"
Peeking out of the front of the tent, he made sure to keep his body hidden by the tent flaps. Teke armed, he took the flasks and tossed a half dozen of them towards the fire, as quickly as he could. They would create smoke, and a good distraction as they shattered and went up in big whooshes of flame. Take that Aodh!

Lucifer Serora l Windracer

Lucifer only half listened as Navjeev rambled on, choosing instead to focus on the task at hoof - grabbing as much as he could carry before destroying the rest. While he didn't didn't pay too much attention to what he grabbed, the young hippocampus did try to focus on grabbing more necessities. That said, he did spirit away a few things from his homeland, such as soap and edible treats that could easily be shoved into a pouch with little issue. He may be living among the Serorans, but he wasn't one of them. At least, not now, though if he was being entirely honest with himself, he wasn't sure if he ever would. That said, he wasn't really Aodhian any more either, and he had no qualms with leaving his mark on the camp. They would pay for what they had done to him. What they'd done to Merrill. He snorted in frustration as his partner spoke again, this time seeming to be on to something. "Bingo." Lucifer turned his attention to the open crate in front of the larger stallion, trying to understand the other's excitement. Peering inside, the box seemed to be filled with oil. His own ears flicked forward in anticipation as Navjeev pulled a few of the bottles from the crate, continuing to speak to the younger horse. "We're turning these into bombs. Grab some of these, use them to make flame trails towards all the tents, chaos right?" Lucifer nodded, a sly grin crossing his face as he lifted a few jars from the box himself, using the smoky cover to slip out of the tent, creeping closer to the flames in order to create a trail for Ignacio's fires to follow. Unable to hold back a laugh, Lucifer felt almost giddy as a few of the tents were engulfed by the flames. Word Count: 287 Post # 7

As much as Rynn had spoken of formulating a plan, she truly didn’t care to collaborate with those present. After all, she was used to helping herself and causing havoc on her own time. This would be no different. Even though she followed the group into the camp, she did not stay with them, teleporting quickly and quietly away from where they had clumped themselves together.
Darkness enveloped the pegasus. She was clearly alone, no guards to be seen. North of her, the fire blazed, visible through the fabric walls. Rynn remained quiet, perusing what she could easily see in the darkness. There was nothing that caught her eye. Everything either too large to carry easily, or something that looked as if it would spoil quickly.
Sensing a bottle of what looked like wine, the pegasus did in fact slide that into the pouch in her saddlebags. Otherwise? There was little else of interest. Her chimera walked alongside her, curisouly poking at what it could see. Rynn had already made up her mind, though. If nothing within the tents were of use to her, then there was no reason not to give Aodh what it deserved.
It seemed the others had already caught on, flames beginning to lick at the flaps guarding the mouth of the tent in which Rynn herself stood. She watched for a moment, curiously, before continuing her perusal. Finding more oil, all the better for the flames to catch to, she hefted the cannisters she could, and teleported to the air, pausing only momentarily to slit the top of the tent for her chimera to lift itself out.
Whatever stealth she had adopted first coming into the camp was gone now as she willingly splashed the oil down over the tents, feeding the growing flames. If the guards had not caught on already, then they deserved to die. Just as quickly as she had entered the camp with the others, she was now leaving, wings outstretched, soaring back towards Bix and Kristofer. With a nod she acknowledged them both and then she was on her way again. Sedo was her natural habitat, she did not need a ranger’s guidance.
She had done what she thought was right, catalyzing the attack on the Aodhian army, participating minimally, and then leaving as quickly as she had come. Who cared, if the camp was going up in flames, she would not be present for when the arrows began to fly.

Navjeev Fleet Footed Windracer As the fire spread, Navjeev knew his job here was done. It was spreading faster than he expected, and he noticed more makeshift oil bombs being thrown from elsewhere. Someone else had gotten the idea. He just hoped that no other members of his group got caught into the quickly spreading blaze. He could hear alarmed whinnies from the guards, and knew he needed to get out, before he was found or worse, engulfed in the flames himself. Taking one last look to make sure that his cargo was secure, not even bothering to check and see what it was, he motioned to Lucifer. "Time to go!" Takings a few more bottles of oil, he tossed them at random during his retreat, making splotches of oil for the fire to greedily lap up once it spread to those.
He was swept up in Lucifer's giddiness, and laughed himself as he kicked off with his board, taking care to keep an eye on the sails so that he would notice any stray embers blown by the wind. He also kept look behind him, keeping an eye out for the forms of his companions, and of anyone chasing. With any luck, there wouldn't be much of a chase as their enemies had a fire to put out. When he was sure he had enough distance, he whooped to the sky, laughing even louder. Oh man, just wait until he had a chance to go talk to Kat now! She was going to probably give him a scolding, but for once, he would have an adventure story to rival some of hers!
He looked back at the crate strapped to his board. Even if they weren't anything super important, Aodh no longer had them, and most of their camp should be in shambles, so it was a good victory for them. He just hoped whatever was in them was worth it.

(Amaya: Vagabond Peddler)
Amaya wasn't particularly....prepared, for the fire. She was too busy with checking things out for herself, and trying to keep one eye out for the kirin she'd claimed as her raiding companion. Still, she couldn't help but check out one of the tents, and fortunately there were no signs of any waking figures in it. However, before she could make a more thorough examination, she smelled the thick, heavy stench of oily smoke, and backed out to see what was happening. Fire was quickly spreading all among the tents, and it was quickly heading her way! The fire seemed to leap from place to place, bursting into sudden life whenever oil struck it, and fed the scorching tongues of fire. Suddenly oil seemed to fall from out of nowhere, and only served to spread the flames. On landed close to her, and she was forced to spread her wings, and take to the air to avoid being caught up in the blaze. Still, even as she rose up away into the safety of the air above the now raging fire, she could smell the unpleasant smell of singed feathers. That had been too close of a call!
However, she did not take off away from the camp just yet, even as she saw the shape of Rynn winging away from the site. Amaya refused to leave until she was sure that the rest of her companions were safely away from the fire before she would go. She began to circle above the camp, staying on the move so that if any of the guards managed to pull themselves together enough to try and string a bow, that she wouldn't be a stationary target for their arrows. She highly doubted that would happen though, the guards would have enough on their hands just escaping from their burning tents, and getting to safety themselves.
Above the burning camp, she saw another figure suddenly speeding away, and seeing the familiar outline of a windracer's board, she knew that another of her fellows were leaving. That was good, the sooner they got out of here now, the better. The damage was done, now all that was left was to get the heck out of here as fast as possible. Amaya continued to circle above, praying that the rest of the group would get out soon. As soon as they were all clear, then she'd be out of here too!

Lucifer laughed as the camp went up in flames, watching with increasing excitement as the golden red hues overtook the Aodhian tents. Still riding his adrenaline high, he made his way back to his windboard, hopping on with a deep sense of achievement. He'd done well tonight, and although whether or not the rest of the party would agree was yet to be seen, he was certainly proud of what he'd done. Pushing off against the ground, Lucifer took off towards those of the group who had stayed behind. Not too far ahead, he could see Navjeev making his own get away, laughing as he carted off a large crate of Aodhian goods. Letting out a howl of his own laughter, he leaned into his board, racing past the larger equine for a moment. Glancing back at the camp as it burned in the distance one last time, Lucifer nodded once in satisfaction. He had publicly renounced Eithne and the Aodh with this act, and there was no going back. Turning his attention to the path ahead once more, He sets his sights on moving forward. Word Count: 183 Post # 8
