Zenith Serora l Saviour
"And as the world comes to an end, I'll be here to hold your hand"
References l Playlist l Moodboard
Zenith paused as the strangers grew close enough to be read by the copper equine's blessing. "There's definitely five of them..." They muttered under their breath. They still seem irritated...though I don't know why. I don't think they're Seroran though.."
Looking at the group nervously as they finished speaking, the wind carried the stranger's voices to them once more. “And where do you suppose we’ll find that safe place, Kolton? Look around you, there’s nothing but this godforsaken shit as far as the eye can see. We can’t stop, we won’t stop-”
“Will both of you please shut the hell up?”
“Wait - did you guys hear that?”
Zen froze. They'd been heard. Panic began setting in as they looked pleadingly at the rest of their party. "We need to go...now." They whispered urgently, their gaze shifting from Dae to Lynx specifically, as both had agreed to leave at the first sign of danger. Ruffling their feathers nervously, they spun around, quickly limping in the opposite direction while praying for Argus's protection and guidance. Word Count: 181 Post #6

FarsightThe Folk Farsight remained silent as they moved closer, leading the group to quite possibly a death trap, gods have mercy on his soul he thought with bitter distaste. As they approached the group, Zen was able to hear them, what was happening. His ears remained fixated on what was happening, listening to Zen while straining to hear what was happening so far away.
He nodded along, until suddenly his heart dropped, Zen warned them they had to go. "Madden Aragon, are you will to stay behind with me, give us a second to try and distract them and get them awya from the others? The rest of you need to move now, Daeymn Im counting on you to get them home." he remarked with determination. He would not allow them to get hurt, especially since they all did not want to come this far. "Go now." he urged them. He offered a light smile to Zen, hoping they would understand, He was always such a fool, but he meant well. But they asked him to lead and what kind of leader would let others fall behind if he was not willing to do the same.

Daemyn Guardian, Husband and Father
For some reason it hadn't felt like Farsight would support him or his cautious ways, but to hear the flea-bitten stallion say that he counted on Daemyn to get those that wanted to run to safety, made the big palomino's heart ache. Dae didn't want to leave anyone behind. Heck, the moment Zenith turned heel and eyed himself and Lynx anxiously, the big guy was halfway ready to go back on his word to ensure they all made it to the camp safely.
And yet he'd been advocating a swift retreat, and no matter how torn he suddenly felt, that was the deal. That was the plan they had all agreed to so he made sure to lock eyes with Farsight, his old friend, and nod sharply too, hopefully, convey that he, Daemyn, would do everything in his power to keep Zenith safe. And anyone else who joined on the retreat, of course. Zenith simply held a special place in Dae's heart.
He gave a soft snort to Farsight, made sure that his weapon was easy to holster, and then he too turned on his heels, following right next to Zenith. With little warning, he wrapped his blue-teal teke around the pegasus and lifted them off their feet, slinging them casually, but carefully, across his broad back. He had the brawn to easily carry Zenith and this way their bracers wouldn't be an issue at all. His head swivelled to check on Lynx, making sure she was keeping up as well and if needed, more teke would swirl her way for support.

L Y N X Serora | The Folk
Oh my darling, it's true. Beautiful things have dents and scratches, too. It was a tense silence while Zenith reached out, but Lynx's heart jumped in her throat as she saw Zenith's eyes widen and body tense, and they had barely spoken that they needed to move before the mare looked to Daemyn and Zenith, backing into a turn on her haunches and an even smooth trot next to Zenith, but refusing to bolt until the large Talorian stallion led the way. Farsight was right. Daemyn held the two civilian's lives in his hooves, and she would trust him. He was strong and armed and everything the little mare wasn't, so she would follow.
Lynx moved out as Daemyn lifted Zenith onto his massive back, finally able to release some of the anxiety through movement. The adrenaline fueled her hooves to step into an even canter to keep up with Daemyn's taller form, and the energy she'd felt since the voices were heard was still waiting to be burned. She could run all night if she had to.
She looked to Daemyn as she cantered alongside him, nervous and worried, to Zenith across his back, their gaze slightly distressed. An ear swiveled back to Farsight, Madden, and Aragon... What would happen to them? What would happen to the split group?
Pushing that thought aside, she realized that though she didn't want to fight, she didn't wish those who did any harm, and on top of it, she had to look out for herself, too. She had to make it home. Her story wasn't over yet, and she prayed to Alya that the same went for all the others.

Aragon kept her eyes peeled as they walked towards the group. She kept her eyes peeled and ears open as they maneuvered over the desert sands. While the visibility was quite low, the moon gave them enough light to see where to place their hooves on the shifting sands. As Zenith stopped and started listening Aragon stood close behind her. The small arabians ears were now fixated on her, waiting to hear if the group ahead was friend or foe. “We need to go… Now.” Zeniths words were chilling. They must have known that they were here, or that something in the desert was watching them. ‘They must be Aodhians.’ Aragon thought to herself before hearing Farsight say her name. As he asked for help to stay behind and a distraction Aragon smiled. The situation was not funny, but Aragon was dying to use her blessing to help the others escape. "Allow me to whip up some cover." The roan arabian closed her eyes, slowly the wind seemed to move around her, throwing her main and tail around. When Aragon’s eyes opened the wind became more intense around herself as it shot out into the desert, picking up sand, whipping up a sand storm for cover. “That should give us some cover, I don’t think it will completely deter them though.” She said, turning to look at Farsight and Madden.

M A D D E N a Mercenary of the Vagabond 'blood like rust on swords i knew, chests and hearts from lovers too' ......
A soft whoosh of air caressed Madden's forelock briefly as the group paused a moment, waiting for a word from Zenith who seemed to be using their Blessing. Madden watched carefully, coming to a halt a few paces back, two throwing knives spinning by his neck as he glanced back and forth.
"We need to go...now." The voice was soft, though whispered, but gently audible. Madden's muscles tensed for a moment, expecting some immediate response or violent action to spring from this warning, but the desert merely hissed around them as sand was blown over sand. The voices of these 'others' were muffled still, but louder than before. He couldn't make out any words and instead focused his rose coloured eyes on the group.
"Madden Aragon, are you willing to stay behind with me, give us a second to try and distract them and get them away from the others? The rest of you need to move now, Daeymn, I'm counting on you to get them home." Farsight spoke then, and Madden saw the flicker of anxiety in his eyes.
"Of course I'll stay." Madden replied, voice cut so as to be soft, and sharp enough to show his willingness. The roan could almost feel his blood singing with the anticipation of action, but he held himself steady. Instead he turned to Aragon, nodding towards the mare. Daemyn began to walk away with Zenith, swinging the smaller equine onto his back. Madden cocked his head a little, a faint smile crossing his lips before he obliterated it with a dark sigh. Daemyn seemed to know Zenith more than he himself did, and Madden was envious of the comradery between the Serorans. But he bit his tongue and watched the group split away, Lynx loping along beside Daemyn.
"Allow me to whip up some cover." Aragon's voice drew Madden back to the present, and the unicorn buried his passing thoughts quickly. He was eager to see Aragon's gift from Alya, as he had only seen a few Blessings in the past. Suddenly the air between Madden and Aragon shifted, and the mercenary took a step back. The unicorn had her eyes closed and the wind was spiralling around her and picking up pace. Then, just as it had picked up it swung off into the desert, a high whistling and whipping sound following it.
"Remind me not to cross you, little one." Madden said softly, looking between the mare and Farsight. With a heft, and an eager smirk, Madden loosed two more throwing knives, holding four in his teke. They were pointed out towards the expanse where the voices echoed from. "I am afraid my gifts are far less visible." He looked briefly at Farsight, "But the skills I do possess will be used to their utmost to protect this group." He waited, hearing his heart pounding in his ears, until either Farsight ordered an attack, or until a potential threat made itself visible.

"Madden Aragon, are you will to stay behind with me, give us a second to try and distract them and get them away from the others? The rest of you need to move now, Daeymn I'm counting on you to get them home. Go now."
Zenith's heart sank as Farsight spoke, plummeting even further as the stallion flashed them a gentle smile before taking off towards the danger. Why? Why did he always do this? Why did he feel this deep need to abandon them whenever the opportunity to be some sort of a hero came up? Didn't he know they needed him more than any of those strangers ever would? Too frustrated and hurt by Farsight's choices to move, Zenith remained planted where they stood, even as their instincts told them to run. In that moment, unable to move forward, they were surrounded by the familiar glow of Daemyn's blue-green teke as it lifted them off their hooves, only to gently drop them on Dae's wide back as he ran. Although they were thankful to the guardian for his interference, especially with Zen's difficulty with running, they still couldn't keep the tears from welling in their eyes as Farsight's figure became smaller and smaller with every step. Every stride taking him further and further from the range of Zen's blessing. Unable to do anything else, the copper pegasus whispered a prayer to Argus, asking the god to watch over their foolish lover. Word Count: 243 Post #7

FarsightThe Folk Farsight could tell he'd have hell to pay with Zenith, have to explain why perhaps he does all the foolish things he does. But if he could make sure they stayed safe, did all he could to protect them, well then maybe they'd be worthy of them at the end of the day. He watched as Dae lifted Zen onto their back and took the others out and away from the trouble that was going to be heading their way.
Eyes turned to the two that agreed to stay with them and he nodded his thanks to them. "Let's make sure we cover their hoof steps, can you side sweep that sandstorm to help cover their steps? They'll be following our trail, so its best we take a long way around. Lose them in the desert. Assure ourselves they dont get close to the others." he remarked looking to both Aragon and Madden.
He listened to Madden explain they had not much of gifts, but could protect them. Honestly that was a gift in itself. "Always need a good fighter. My gift is not much but a burden. I can see a bit into the future, but its messy and never quite clear." he remarked shaking his head a bit. "Lets try and lead them the other way, we'll need them to follow our voices, before we lose them again." he remarked hoping the idea would fit them all. Give them a chance. "If they end up catching up to us, we take them down."

L Y N X Serora | The Folk
Oh my darling, it's true. Beautiful things have dents and scratches, too. Lynx didn't dare to say much as she cantered alongside Daemyn, two of her small strides to his one large one. She didn't question anything about their escape, and she prayed that the breeze over the dunes would be enough to cover their tracks. The last thing they needed were hostiles tracking their moves by the hoof prints in the sand. She cast a glance at Zenith, and her heart broke for them. She could see in their eyes that they were heartbroken to be torn away from their lover. Lynx couldn't imagine being torn away from a loved one. Glimpses of Helios darted into her mind, and she thought for a moment before giving a reassuring nudge to Zen's leg, careful not to disturb the braces, as she cantered, giving them a reassuring smile before muttering a prayer to Alya under her breath.
"How far will we go?" Lynx asked after what felt like moments but what had to be quite some time, really. She cast a glance back tentatively. What if they were followed? What if the other were coming after them? She shook the thought out of her head. Too much anxiety.

aodh npcs The voices did not waver.
They did not necessarily grow stronger, but they most certainly did not leave. It was enough to make the Aodhians hold their breaths and gather their weapons in their teke. Slowly they marched forward, Nadia leading with her sword before her.
Sand swept around them, but they gathered it was not caused by the wind. The air was still — this was caused by something - someone - else.
Sparks crackled in the air as Nadia’s blessing came to life, and despite Marcel’s injury, they assisted their leader as they flashed light upon the area.
Immediately the Aodhians were drawn to the strangers ahead, and instinctively Nadia snarled.
Kolton remained by his partner’s side, but offered a protective shield as the rest of their group moved forward — or in Nadia’s case, charged.
They couldn’t possibly know who the three equine were, but Nadia was not one for questions. She would assert her place, make them kneel in the sand and then ask who they were.
And if they fought, well — the glinting of her sword confirmed her readiness for a fight. The trek had left her yearning for something more, like an itch she couldn’t scratch.
This would do just fine. 2 | 208
