Devasha | Mare | Commoner
"Ready or not, here I come," Devasha spoke diligently as she came to the end of her countdown, allowing her eyes to flutter open once more. With a sigh she glanced around at the now empty room. This was hardly how she wished to be spending her day, and she swore she could already feel a headache beginning to form behind her eyes.
The sensation intensified as a unearthly howl shattered the quiet of the villa, echoing before Devasha could so much as take a single step forward. Instantly her ears were flattened against her skull, her groomed temper snapping to the surface as she began striding towards the source of the sound. Furiously rounding the corner to the library, seething as she already began to call out the suspected perpetrator of the sound.
"Grange, I swear if I have to hear one more-," Devasha threatened, stopping suddenly mid sentence as she observed the scene. "Oh."
Before her stood no pesky servile slave, but a creature of fire, an inky black skull accompanied by a flickering body of flame. Sunken, eerily empty sockets seemed to search about the room, although for what she could not say. Devasha found herself struck dumb by the unusual creature's appearance, hovering in the frame of the doorway as she watched JJ attempt the reason with the animal.

The Furia stops moving for a moment when the dark coated small unicorn addresses it. It seems to consider Thaio’s words, but shows no recognition of him, nor does it seem to accept his authority – after a moment of calm, the creature snarls again, and whips around to face the larger mare who has just now entered the room. His eyes turn to the wolf on the mare’s side, and his maw opens, as if breathing hard. Without the lolling tongue or expressive ears, it is hard to say what the furia is feeling, other than confusion. Its fiery tail is in constant movement, slow and unsure. The fire on its back seems to stiffen when the whisperer speaks.
There is certainly more of a pause now. The Furia is still, completely still. It does not even look like a living creature, but a horrible flaming statue. Then, it barks, its voice deep and eerie at the same time, as if the very voice echoed with something unearthly. “Hiding. Shatter shatter HURT. Not my master”, it replies, its barks nervous and angry. There is pain there. The words spoken to it remind the Furia why it was hiding. It lets out another howl, this far more pained than the ones before.
Empty sockets hone in on Cirilla now. It lurches closer, stopping only when Devasha arrives too. It looks at them, and even from beneath the cracking of the fire, you can hear air whizzing in and out of its nose cavity. The animal snarls at Cirilla, and the fire on its body identifies. Small embers catch onto the carpet, but most are snuffed out almost immediately. Still, despite its anger, it doesn’t strike, merely looming opposite the two young pegasi, looking ready to bolt outside.

J J
It doesn't accept Thaio, and JJ watches Thaio cautiously, her lip twitching somewhat. She wants to tell him to stay back--this thing is dangerous. Her throat bobs, and JJ stiffens up, her head raising, words bolting to her head, and the first thing she does-
"Cirilla, uh, y'should take off my bridle right about now." She can do stuff with water, right? And that thing's made of fire, but JJ doesn't want to say it, because the Furia's able to understand what she says, and letting a firedog know she plans on extinguishing it if she has to is probably not a good idea. JJ watches it move, but as it nears Cirilla, JJ moves too, heading it off, wedging itself between the Furia and Devasha, Cirilla. She says nothing to them as she does this, and hopes it won't leave her coat scoured in fire.
"I know it hurts. That looks like it really hurts, my guy--girl? My--uh. Pal?" She tries to be polite. "I do stuff for a livin' that leaves me hurtin'. Not your master? Who's your master? Who shattered you?" JJ wishes she could reach out and offer it something reassuring, but the thing is she can't. Instead, JJ squares her jaw. "This one behind me's my master. We can talk real simple-like'r you can keep comin' at her but if you keep doin' that, we can't talk no more, y'feel?"
A rough exhale. "I know it hurts, but I can't help ya for shit if you don't use your words, yeah? Settle down'n I can help you." WC: 256| Post 4

Cael | Pit Slave
It was a howl that snapped the slaves eyes open, a deep forboding sound like that of a wounded dog. Cael had nearly fallen alseep in the quiet of the dusty libray, the creaks of old wood and the subtle rsutle of fabric the only noise as the minutes ticked by. But the howl had woken hear, snapped the mare back into reality. Cael's first thought was to Rose, but the cry was too loud and too eerie to belong to the small pitbull familiar. Her second thought went to Lilith, and for a moment the mare's heart lurched with worry. Just as she stepped from her hiding spot, a burst of red flame lit the room casting a red glow against the walls and books. Rose jumped from her spot beneath the pillows, clammering to her master's side in surprise before baring her teeth. A furia Golden eye's watched the beast as it took form before her only now noticing Thio's small frame on the opposing side of the room. Just then, JJ and Cirilla burst in causing the heavy doors to hit the wall with a loud crack, followed quickly by Deshiva who looked undoubtedly surprised. As the family gathered, Cael could not help but let her heart drop as they faced the creature. She could not allow the children to get hurt. Quickly, the pit fighter moved in front of the small gathering; a living shield between the firey beast and the youngest. But the Furia was not posed to attack nor did it seem to understand why equine now gathered around it. A questioning glace sent in JJ's direction yeilded no answers either, as the slave tried to talk down the beast. "Wither it understand you or not, it does not seem to care," Cael's voice boomed over the crackling of the living flames. "We may want to deal with it soon before the whole villa is set ablaze, with us in it."

Grange | Servile Slave | Post Five
Before the cat that was Grange could actually get comfortable and doze off for some (he thought) much deserved rest, a shatteringly loud howl broke the silence, causing the gray cat to leap into the air, hissing with surprise. With his small heart beating madly, the creature padded out of his hiding place, taking the space in the open room to resume his natural shape. The sharp-edged bone horn protruding from his forehead would be far more useful than the tiny, furry body of a cat should Grange have to tussle with whatever it was that had made the terrifying noise. What it could be, he wasn't sure, as he was fairly certain he was the only shapefhifter among the group, and he knew that the canine familiars he'd seen thus far couldn't be capable of howling in that manner.
Hooves clipping quietly on the ground as he trotted to where the group of horses were amassing, Grange peered curiously above the heads of the other equines, attempting to see what was capturing their attention. As he slid to a stop, his violet eyes widened in shock. Before the group, a mass of fire, and an empty looking skull commanded the room. JJ seemed to be attempting to calm the creature...a furia, if Grange wasn't mistaken... down, before it burned down the villa.
"What's that doing here?" he whispered, keeping his tone low so as not to startle the creature. His words weren't directed at any horse in particular, and though they lacked the "proper" vernacular for speaking to a Noble, they held a note of both fear and respect. Even the self-serving slave found himself humbled by the nightmare in the midst of the room.

CIRILLA | AODH | COMMONER
these sentiments are second-hand.
Cirilla’s heart thudded against her ribcage, akin to a startled bird as the Furia turned to face them; hollow eye sockets seeming to bore into hers as they flickered with an unnatural, rippling light. Her breath became shallow, and she pressed her wings in close to her side, suddenly aware of how very flammable they were. The pegasus flinched as the creature snarled at her, fire crackling throughout their blackened teeth. Uncertainty held her in place, too afraid to move in case they gave chase.
As JJ and Cael crossed paths with the hound and blocked their way, Cirilla exhaled a shaky breath she didn't know she had been holding.
She trusted the slave far more than the rest of the people gathered in this room, and didn't hesitate to do as she was bid when the pit fighter humbly requested her bridle be removed. A tentative trail of glittering, blue teke reached out towards JJ’s face, fumbling with the straps and tugging them loose.
Perhaps it was for the best that she had locked Azel in that suitcase.

The Whisperer keeps talking, and the head of the dog tilts, side to side, as it listens. It’s hard to discern how much it actually understands. Occasionally, it shakes its head violently, savagely, as if trying to chase off an annoying pest or fly. It listens to JJ for a while, but in the end, it begins tracking Cirilla again – although it does not have eyes, you can tell it is staring right at her. “Dead”, it answers, and the pain is obvious to all from the sad, low howl of that statement. For a moment, the Furia ceases to be aflame, it’s tail tucked deep between its legs.
It ignores Cael, but does briefly look at Grange when the slave arrives, setting itself ablaze again. It spins around itself, then stops in the center of the onlookers, baring its black teeth and barking deep. A warning. Its attention returns to Cirilla once more. If it had skin, its lips would be curled – you can tell. Strange, how you can almost imagine flesh on the black skull when you watch the beast.
The Furia seems oblivious to the actions of Cirilla when she removes the bridle, its attention only on her as it snarls and snaps forward. Then, it spins again, snaps at Thaio, then Cael. Not attacking, never within striking distance, but increasingly frantic, angry, wanting to get away. It turns again to face the Whisperer, it’s voice now again a barking shout: “Go! Hurt! Hide!” Past and present blend together painfully in its uplifted mind and cracked skull. It turns again to Cirilla, body fire and menace. Air hums through the nose cavity, and it sneers with distaste, but does not attack. Not the same. Different. It was all a little muddled, honestly. The smells, the looks.
They needed to get away.
In a single spark, the carpet was ablaze. When eyes turned to it, the Furia turned black as coal again, ducking its body between the two sisters, and vanishing into the hallway. You can hear pottery smash and items topple over as it goes, but in the end, it is silent. The fire on the carpet is stomped out easily enough, but there is no sign of the Furia. You only know that you never heard a door open.
The Furia departs.

Doe sighed as she cleaned up the mess Peach had made, pale pink teke scrubbing a rag on the floor. She’d heard the howls and watched as JJ left but could not leave without doing her job. Even if she wanted to leave, she didn’t want to face whatever the others were seeing at that moment. Whatever was there with them sounded terrifying.
She gave a stern look at the fox that now looked like he was ready for a nap. Finding herself unable to even scold him, Doe ushered him onto her back, letting him rest after he’d emptied his stomach.
Humming to herself, the servile wondered if she could sneak into her mistress’ room and curl up in the lush pillows. Of course, she didn’t think she could handle a drunk Lilith, at least in that moment. Deciding it would be best to keep Peach to their room, she dipped out of the kitchen - rightfully assuming that the game was over considering the amount of voices coming from the other room.
A flash of fire ran in front of her and forced her to slam on her hooves. The sudden jerk and the smell of ash made Peach rise from her back and growl. Doe stared as the fire flew down the hall, smashing a few items in its wake. What in Cascade’s name was that?
Flicking her ears back, she made her way down the hall to where everyone else stood, staring wide-eyed at the smoking carpet.
“What did I miss?” she piped up, her soft voice cutting through the shocked silence.

Ferdinan.
Ferdinan passively rinsed the... unfortunate mess from his body. He turned to ask Doe if she was alright, but as his lips opened, the sound that came out was not his own. What the hell was that? His face read obvious confusion, but as a second howl sounded, Ferdinan went into attack mode. He looked around the room and saw a broom leaning on the door frame. As he rushed out of the kitchen, the stallion's gold teke brought the broom along with him. He was trained with a spear, but this would do.
Upon entering the room, his eyes were met with a beast. His worry wasn't for himself, but for his siblings. In finding the room of the ruckus, his siblings had found a way to take care if the situation. Ferdinan stayed in the doorway, watching his siblings react. A scream and a thud caught his attention. His sister raced by him, seemingly in fear. JJ could handle the situation here, but what if there was another... Beast? He couldn't even give the atrocity a name.
Broom ready, Ferdinan followed the screams into a bedroom. A zipped suitcase was making its way across the floor. Warily, he unzipped the case slowly, only to be met with a beast worse than any other: an angry brother. "Azel? Why are you in a suitcase?" The pegasus asked the other, blinded by the furia to remember the game they were playing. 245

Apparently, everyone and their mother had heard the painful scream that escaped the Furia’s maw. Thaio tried to reassure it but of course, lacked the skill to do so. JJ and Cael met his side and JJ began talking. Thaio pinned his ears in annoyance at the salve. “Does it look like I know how to talk to this thing. If that was the case you lot wouldn’t need to be here.” He stomped his foot. A dull thud sounded as his hoof collided with the rug. Of course though letting JJ continue with whatever they thought they could do. The colt just waited for it to backfire LITERALLY in his face. The black colt rolled his eyes as JJ basically baby talked down to the creature. “This is so stupid” He muttered under his breath but he was sure someone heard. The thing kept snarling but its tone seemed to differ slightly.
He barely noticed Cirilla entering until the Furia seemed to get a little bit more ancy. JJ seemed to react a little and could see them in his peripheral stiffen up and broaden out. Were they all scared of this thing? His eyes scanned the crowd of horses gathered behind him. His eyes snapping back to JJ as she asked Cirilla to remove her bridle. The colt wasn’t happy about that one bit and threatened to protest but Cirilla had already slipped it over JJ’s ears.
A loud half-angry exhale escaped his nose. “What is it saying?” Thaio bluntly asked. “Something about its master? Shattered? It doesn’t look shattered to me. Maybe someone attempted to kill it. That gash doesn’t look accidental.” The colt raised his upper lip a little. His eyes continuously scanning the room, half expecting for the loud and obnoxious Azel to enter. Perhaps he fell asleep or went to get mother. For his sake, he hoped he didn’t go to get mother. He couldn’t deal with her angry drunken state. But he was sure she’d sober up right away at the sight of this.
The fire dog seemed to cease fire all of a sudden. It took the colt by surprise. Its obvious pain and sorrow-stricken its empty face. Its body language spoke more than words, Thaio took a step forward towards the Furia. Lowering his head down to its level. Though wasn’t all that much. “Do you have a name? Or is that something that your master also took away from you.” The noble could see its glaring orbless eyes fixed on Cirilla as it paced the floor. “They were a pegasus weren’t they?” either that or they had similar coats. He looked to JJ for confirmation. Grange entered and seemed to startle the Furia. It setting itself ablaze again, which seemed to be a protective or aggressive stance. Before a warning growl and bark is aimed at all in the room. The mutt snapped at the onlookers. Almost catching Thaio’s shoulder. If it was any other animal. It would have got a quick punishing slap with his teke. It was imminent now that it hated the sight of Cirilla. If it wasn’t such a tense moment. He would have made a snide joke or comment about himself hating the ugly sight of his half-sister and if he could have commanded the beast he would have told it to go eat her feathers hide.
The events after were kind of a half blur. The rug caught flame but quickly snuffed out by some members of the group whereas others went looking for the beast. To make sure it wasn’t setting anything else a flame. Thaio went and took a bath to get the cilt and soot out of his coat and then snuck back to his room. Locking the door behind him and retreating to his studies or finding a book on his shelf he hadn't read yet. Which was harder to do than it sounded.

Devasha | Mare | Commoner
Devasha was hardly aware of her siblings crowded in beside as she eyed the beast of fire and ash, standing remarkably still as its empty sockets whirled around the room. With the viscous growls emanating from its bone maw she had rarely before been so glad to have the JJ and Cael close at hand, the massive equines wedging themselves protectively between Lilith's children and the creature. She noted that it appeared to have a particular fascination with her younger sister, or perhaps grudge was a better term- although who didn't at this point?-, though to what end, she wasn't quite certain.
For once JJ's incessant talking seemed to serve a purpose, at least preventing the furia from attacking it seemed. Even then it still appeared agitated, perhaps even afraid, as it glanced between the occupants of the room. Suddenly it seemed as though it could take no more, and in an instant the flame flickered out, leaving an emaciated black mutt in its place. The furia bolted in the gap between Cirilla and herself, and with a small noise akin to a gasp, Devasha leaped away from the animal, delicate hummingbird wings fluttering in response. Just as quickly as it had appeared it was gone, presumably vanished into the depths of the villa. Though so often proud of her powers of observation, to failed to notice Doe's approach, jumping slightly as the mare spoke.
Straightening up to cover her own nervousness, she glanced at the servile slave, not even bothering to demand proper etiquette when addressing their masters; not when her knees were still shaking not unlike a newborn's. "A furia, I believe," she finally managed to articulate.
