Bethel

I'm ready to go anywhere
I'm full of hope and full of fear

Bethel counted the bricks lining the tunnel as she walked along, just a few short paces behind Merril. The sound of the chaos outside grew louder until the entry way they'd passed through collapsed in on itself, sealing the small group in the poorly lit hallway.
Growing more fearful with each passing moment, Bethel retreated to her mother's side, grabbing a hold of her scarf for a sense of security. Looking up at Damaris, dauntless as ever, Bethel tried to rekindle her own courage. She had to be strong for Cassie. Mama had told her that she needed to look out for her little sister, and look out for her she would.
After a while, the group came to the end of the long corridor which emptied out into a spoke like room, hallways headed in every direction from it. As they approached, Harper turned to them with a malicious glimmer in her eyes.
"Honestly, I didn't lead you down here to be safe from the flock."
As she spoke, flock members materialized out of the darkness, grabbing onto each of the equines and wrestling them into submission. It all happened so fast that Bethel couldn't keep up. One moment she was walking beside her mother and sister, and the next she was telekinetically held in place as a pair of giant wings engulfed her, blocking her view.
"I am the princess, let go of me! I was reborn from a sacrifice, how dare you!! HOW DARE YOU?!" Cassadra's voice rang out through the darkness and Bethel found herself struggling to get free. Lashing out in any way should could, she struggled to call to her sister, to let her know that she was there, but in the end, she couldn't free her mouth enough to get out more than a muffled grunt.
