Einar||Aodh||Merchant||Post:3||Words:375||
Einar shook his now drenched forelock from his face as he coughed up water. As he tried to refamiliarize his lungs with oxygen he was surprised by a small voice as it's owner seemed to materialize in front of him. He stared blankly into the young appaloosa face for a second before realizing the sounds leaving the foals mouth were a, words; and b, directed at him. "Uhm, yea. Yea, I'm...fine. I guess." He stuttered, blinking repeatedly as he tried to paddle closer to the foal. With all of the chaos onboard and the choppy waves all around them, the fjord worried for the young colt. Although, the gray appaloosa was probably the better swimmer of the pair. The only stroke Einar ever mastered was the 'try really hard to keep your head up and you might not die'.
Before the dun could return the question of concern to his new companion, the foal piped up with another question. "Well...." Einar started, pursing his lips as he looked back up at the wooden ship. "There might be some rope or somethin, maybe we could cli-" his thought was cut off as the stallion watched the ship burst into flames in stunned silence. That was not how he expected today to go.
"Honestly buddy, I think we're safer here." He said breathlessly, a faint chuckle in his voice. At this point, he wouldn't have been entirely surprised if the vessel simply floated away into the sky. A large flaming boat sailing through the air. What could be stranger than that!
But, half due to not wanting to leave Lorencio with a completely unsatisfying answer, half due to feeling something graze his flank, Einar continued to study the blazing ship. Trying to find anything that could help them. "Hey! Do ya remember seeing a rowboat up there? I could've sworn I'd seen one our first day." He thought for a moment, spitting sea water out as he spoke. He could almost recall seeing a small rowboat earlier, but it was hazy at best. Perhaps it was simply part of another ship he'd seen at the dock. If so, he'd definitely have to file a complaint when- if they got home. That can not be up to code.

Vidalia | War Forged - Bloody Flanks | Raider:
We'll take the next chance, and the next,
until we win or our chances are spent.
Spoils lay strewn about the entirety of the hold, unsettled and upturned by the Trespasser’s assault. Despite the simplicity in which one could technically seize the items however, discomfort gnawed away at the mule’s gut; Vidalia was uneasy at being below deck alone, so much so that she ended up focusing most of her attention listening to what was happening above, instead of inspecting the contents as she had been sent to do. It wasn’t long before the smell of smoke grabbed her notice once more, far stronger and heavy in the air than it had been, and she immediately abandoning the idea of removing anything, hastily retreating back up to the surface, just in time to see the sails be taken by fire and begin to consume the rest of the boat…
Aware that time was no longer a luxury they could afford, she looked for direction from her colleges, only to be distracted by obstinance from a hostage. The mule’s skin prickled in indignation at hearing the merchant’s insubordination; it seemed they must be wielding wooden swords for all the Aodhians seemed to care, as they grew yet more bold and reckless with their actions. Deftly making a decision, her gaze fixated upon the mare and grew cold. She spoke once more, her tone dispassionate and flat as she moved forward. “That, wasn’t a request.”
The raider sheathed her blade, letting it hang limply from her side this time, encroaching upon Liri with her head lowered, the twisted horn’s crystal innards catching the light of the flames behind them, and charged when she was but a few metres away. Skidding sideways, the mule heavily body-checked the appaloosa, biting at her neck and sending them both toppling over the rails to join the mare’s no doubt sodden companions.

Liri Merchant
As soon as she back-talked to the painted mare, she felt like she was getting hit by an avalanche. A gulla colored avalanche. The wind was knocked out of her as the larger mare hit her, paired with pain from her neck area as she bit Liri in the process. They tumbled over the edge and splashed into the icy waters below, the grulla overo landing on top of Liri.
The cold was a shock to Liri's body, never really having experienced it before, all her muscles tensed up, creaking as she tried to release the mare on top of her. Liri kicked wildly, hoping to make contact. She must have because some of the pain released, though the grulla probably had a hold of her mane instead of her actual neck at this point.
Thank god I'm a strong swimmer! Liri thought as she pushed towards the surface of the water, the other mare still latched on to her mane. It was tinted orange, the light of the fire guiding her out of the Onean depths that could have devoured her. Einar better be okay, because if he isn't, I'm gonna kick his ass for being dead.
Liri thought that as she reached the surface, feeling the weight from the other mare lessen as she broke from the water. Air greeted her like an old friend and Liri took a large breath, but not large enough to cause her to cough.
"Einar! Einar, where are you?" Liri shouted, looking around for his dun coat in the freezing waters.

Nova
"Fuck" Nova muttered under her breath as the feisty mule ran off to take their goods, the only reason they were on the god's forsaken boat. She felt her gut twist a little as she took in the blood dripping down Hancock's face. She would definitely have to make it up to him once this was all over. The yelling was getting louder further down the boat and Nova felt another organ drop as the boy was literally kicked off the boat. Then it happened. The Ambassador's rage soared and the boat burst into flames. "HANCOCK" She yelled at her brave stallion, "What the hell do we do now?!" Her heart fell back into place and began racing. This was most certainly the worst day of her life. They were well between a rock and a hard place, or in their case a burning boat and a wet place. Nova hated being wet but she also didn't want to burn, singed wasn't a good look for her. "Charlie, fuck!" Nova stomped her hooves as she panicked. She couldn't leave her precious bleater to burn. She squealed, let off some electricity from her hooves and took off praying she didn't catch fire.
She bolted towards the door that led below the burning ship. She ignored the stupid pirates who were to blame for this whole mess and threw herself down the stairs. She quickly found her goat, of course in a place where he shouldn't be and chewing on something he definitely shouldn't be. There was one small plus to this fire, no one would find goat mouth sized holes in their belongings. She nuzzled Charlie to pushed him towards the doors. She glanced at his head collar and was somewhat glad to see small pockets still bulging with opium around his neck. Her goat was more than just a companion. Pushing him through the door she was flooded with chaos, smoke and flames. She couldn't believe horses were still fighting! She ran to Hancock and asked one simple question, "Do we jump?" She looked into his eyes seeing he was still woozy from his wound and realised she might have to be the one to make the call. Shit.
She sent a quick prayer to Ignacio then shoved her men towards the edge of the ship. Every one of her senses were shut down then restarted as she landed in the icy water and came back up again. What the hell were they going to do now. She called to Charlie and pleaded him to stay close by. Shit, could goats swim? Post 5 WC: 433
Thank you everyone for one ridiculously amazing chapter! xD I'm pleased to have amused someone c; Pls tell me help is on the way. Nova has endurance, but not this kind of endurance hahaha.
