Illidis | Pit Slave "In the end what separates a man from a slave? Money? Power? No, a man chooses, and a slave obeys." -Andrew Ryan, Bioshock
Summoned to the home of the King's Adviser. What would come of this? His master was the one summoned, of course. No one such as Isador would summon a pit slave. He was just coming along with Luciano for... Some reason. Maybe just a display of his master's nobility and strength, to try and show Isador how good of a noble he was. That was likely. He didn't like leaving Algren home alone like that. He'd become quite attached to the young servile slave over the passing months, and nearly saw him as a little brother.
The grullo pitfighter was quiet as he walked along behind his master. Hooves clacking on the stones below were the only sounds he heard, and the only thing he saw, as he refused to lift his gaze from the ground. With meeting someone so highly ranked, he had to be on his best behavior. No talking, no unneeded moving, nothing. Practically a carved statue unless Master Luciano beckoned for him or asked something of him. He rolled his scarred shoulder, marks draw onto his coat from the claws of a rogue pygmy dragon during their failed visit to Briem... Still uncomfortable, made him struggle a bit sometimes... But he was recovering slowly, like the rest of Aodh.
It wasn't long before they reached the home of the Adviser. Guided into the great hall of his villa, Illidis's gaze darted up for a brief moment, his slight curiosity getting the better of him. It was ornate. More so then the Master's home. He immediately dropped his gaze again, staring at the polished floor. Were others summoned? Hushed voices confirmed this, and it made the pitfighter uneasy. Who was here? Why were they here? There was no mention of anything, or, well, if Luciano knew, maybe he just hadn't told him? Slaves didn't need to know everything that happened, after all...
He would wait. He'd listen. Behave properly for Luciano and make him pleased. He'd been so reclusive lately... He needed to make this a good thing and a less stressful evening for him. He hadn't been out in a long time, after all. Behave properly. Just wait, listen, and see what happened.

➳➳➳"Oh, don't you know what you got into?"
Absolute secrecy. When Ragnarok had received the letter, he was ready to throw it away. His dislike for the court had grown since the birth of the dragon child, his tone turning more bitter toward nobles and those above him as they days went by. They thought they were so special, eh? Celebrating while the rest of them struggled?
However, he gave the letter a read, maybe the amuse the sender, or just to give him something to do. It was brief, its tone unclear, but secrecy was important.. Ragnarok sure liked secrets.. He liked making secrets.. he liked ruining secrets..
Fluffing his scarf against his neck, the dark stallion dragged a heavy cloak over his form to hide himself in the streets and called for his most trusted bodyguard, Hawthorne. The sun was quickly sinking, and Ragnarok knew better than to run around the streets without some sort of cover up, especially with his reputation.
His hooves clicked on the streets as he and Hawthorne made their way to the place of meeting.. a grand home owed by Isador..
"What terrible hospitality, not even bothering to meet us at the door." The stallion scoffed as he wandered through the large home, his hooves and voice echoing against the empty halls. "Even i know better than that. This guy calls himself a member of the court? Please." Were they the only ones here? Was this a trap? At this thought, he found him pressing closer to his trusted Hawthorne. A trap set up for him would not be a long shot, anyways.
He found the hall, pausing in the door way as he saw two others already waiting. His eyes flickered on the painted stallion, a slave he assumed, by how he stood offensively beside the other stallion. Oh yes, the other stallion. Luciano; a lord. While Rags wasnt sure if the noble knew him, he sure knew the noble. He prided himself in keeping track of who the nobles were, so he knew who not to turn to when he found himself in trouble.
Further ignoring the other two, as if they were not there, the large brute walked into the room and shed his cloak, hanging it on the back of a chair as if he lived there. He turned to his body guard, his brow furrowed with suspicion.
"What do you make of this, Hawthorne?" He asked, his tone hushed, voice raspy.

Umbra | Servile Slave | AodhUmbra was very worried about this new escapade. He trailed at Caspian's flank. It took all his will not to gently press into the stallion or hold his tail. He didn't get brought on very many trips with the stallion, he usually had more casual business to attend to at the house. But, for some reason, Caspian had brought him along. It was kind of nice to get out in the sunny air.
Umbra glanced up at the noble stallion. He whispered his question very quietly, not wanting to anger his owner by accident. "Um... Mister Caspian? D-do you know why we're going to this place?" His gaze quickly fell to the steps he took, making sure he didn't make a fool of himself tripping on the ground. "Y-you don't have to tell me, though..." Umbra placed his ears back timidly.
As the pair reached the large home, he couldn't help looking around at everything. The place was so big. Not that Umbra hadn't been in big houses, he lived in one after all, it was just intriguing. Once they'd reached the main gathering room, Umbra made sure to stay even closer to his master. There were other horses here. They were all really big, too. The colt couldn't help his feelings of fear. He was just a slave, so clearly he wasn't important for this meeting, which also meant he might learn things that could get him in trouble. Umbra made a plan in his mind to just stay quiet and not get himself in trouble for any reason.

Dimitri / Chevalier/ Aodh
The stallion had just finished his training for the day. Dimitri still wore his sword on his side, unsure of the intent upon the letter, but the stallion would come anyway. Whether it was a fight or a battle of words, the chevalier wouldn't back down, not ever. Dimitri had received the letter earlier in the day while he was at home, what had confused him about this whole experience was the invitation was extended to his slave Viona. It made him uneasy to bring her into what could be a dangerous situation. As he walked to the door he dug a hoof into the stone, a eerie calmness came over him as he entered the doors, looking at all the other horses who he guessed had been summoned as well.
He kept a eye on Viona, he wouldn't let anything happen to her, slave or not she was his lady. Dimitri shook his head to the side letting the cloaked hood move down some so he could have a better view. 'Let's see' he thought looking around. 'If this was a party this surely is the worst party ive ever been to.' he scoffed to himself moving through the few horses there, standing off to the side looking around for any potential dangers, as he kept his cloak on, his sword hidden beneath. This was all to fishey, being that the horses here were all different standings made him wonder what this was truly all about.
Dimitri turned slightly pulling Viona's hood down some more. "You ok..." he whispered kindly flicking his tail. The stallion was ever eager to be done with this 'meeting' he had practice in the morning. Being called out at sundown with whispered secrets, it didn't look good for a advisor to be doing such suspicious things. Dimitri as well did not want to be caught up in something he had nothing to do with. What was he up to, why were they all specifically summoned, his mind worked on trying to put together all the little gritty pieces of the puzzle. He had no intention of socializing. There was no one here he was interested in speaking to. Certainly not a lord, a class of people he'd been kicked out of, and certainly not a commoner whom he assumed the stallion was by his lack of manners. Word Count: 393 Post: # 1

.V I O N A .Servile Slave
What a mystery.. She'd received the scarcely embellished invitation from the courier before presenting it to her Lord, even then- before it had been opened and its contents revealed- her mind swam with questions. It bore a mark she was not familiar with, not entirely... Was it an associate that Dimitri knew? No perhaps not, it was clear that her Master had his own questions and was just as wary when the time came to fulfill the invite.
The date and time had been disclosed in the document and it was shortly prior to such time that Viona had silken her mane and adorned her gilded bridle. Donning her own shawl she stood ready- for the mare too had been invited to this secret meeting of nobility. Viona could scarcely imagine why, other than her position at Dimitri's side providing her with a few more words than the silent, complacent, minority that she represented. Tensions ran high upon their departure- Viona knew better now than to try and distract her Lord from his thoughts.. Thus, they walked in silence towards their destination as Ignacio's sun began the descent from its peak in the sky. The roan mare's ears twitched ever so slightly when they entered the sprawling villa, for a lack of host the place was beautiful. It spoke for itself in volumes, marble floor echoing the sheer opulence.. When they neared the room with the rest of the assumed attendees Viona stepped closer to the tobiano protector that was Dimitri and he too had seemed to gravitate closer still- she could hear his sword shift in it's sheath with his own unease.. What could they possibly expect from such a meeting? Was it even right to draw comfort from the fact that they were not alone? A tug on her hooded shawl pulled her from the turbulent thoughts and fears just as her Lord's words caught her attention. She lifted her hood off the rest of the way, blue eyes meeting his with a learned ease. When she nodded her affirmation the delicate chains upon her brow and nose gave a faint tinkling in the hush of the room, "Yes m'lord.. Thank you." she rasped. Part of her wished to ask him the same but rather she deigned to leave a blank, just in case she insulted him by doing so.
"-This guy calls himself a member of the court? Please."
Viona stiffened slightly, hearing that voice echo down the hallway.. Could it be? No. Her mind was playing tricks on her to think that she recognized that voice.. She glanced about the room, auburn light spilling into the central ambulatory from various windows. She took in the presence of the other horses then, realizing that while some of them may have looked familiar- she did not know any of them. It was then that her blood started to run slower.. For out of the hall came a very familiar form, shadowed by an equally tall painted mare. He addressed her as Hawthorne- but Viona only knew this stallion by thief.
"You..." A statement or a question.. Viona snorted in disbelief, face a mixture of uncharacteristic distaste and outrage.
This was all making less and less sense, what was he here for? Maybe he was a burglar, arriving in the wrong place at the wrong time.. Her eyes were locked on the dark face and wisps of fiery red hair sticking out from under his scarf, there was no mistaking him, that was the pearl-thief.

Aodh | Noble Lord| Luciano
Secrets.
His mind recalled reading over the letter this morning, the only condition to attending such a meeting was the promise of absolute secrecy. It left a foul taste in his mouth and a sense of uneasiness crept along his spine as he walked beside Illidis. Luciano hadn't seen either of his slaves for much these past few months, besides a few accidental run-ins at his villa, he had received unsavory news beforehand; his method of dealing with such grief was not advantageous but it worked for him.
The rhythmic clack of their hooves eased his nerves, slightly, though his anxiety flared as soon as they reached Advisor Isador's manor. To much of his dismay, this wasn't an entirely private matter as it had originally seemed as he caught the gaze of a commoner - whom he hadn't taken the time to remember the name of as he wasn't entirely relevant to his life. The stallion's ears slightly swiveled backward as he heard the male speak,
"What terrible hospitality, not even bothering to meet us at the door." "Even i know better than that. This guy calls himself a member of the court? Please."
A scowl threatened to occupy his features but he held back, his face remained emotionless, lack of any interest in anyone besides the matter at hands. Luciano held his composure, quirking a brow in curiosity, craning his neck to better inspect his environment; nothing but emptiness met his gaze. The Noble knew better than to barricade into Lord Isador's home and inspect every delicate feature of his manor, albeit he lead himself into the villa; occupying a seat and signalling for Illidis to follow in pursuit. He worked his jaw meticulously, the lack of cigar in his mouth causing his mouth to itch for activity, scanning the rest of the individuals that slowly seeped into the manor.
An invitation with no greeting made for a very suspicious affair; that was for certain.

Regina || Pit Fighter "She's a killer....queen" Perhaps some other slave may have jumped at the opportunity to go out and attend some secret meeting in their master's stead, but Regina was far from having such sentiments about the situation. After all it was Deidra's own damn fault that she'd gotten into trouble with the law for freeing slaves of all things! Why should Regina have to take time away from training or looking after Dhaval to go to something that probably had nothing to do with her in the first place?
Then again she knew that if she didn't go herself then some other slave may have, and she didn't trust a single one even half as far as she could throw them. Thus she was stuck here, entering Isador's home with her head high, her every step calculated. She may be a slave, but she still had class, and knew how to make sure the others knew she meant business. She would not be ordered around by those who were not her master.
Emerald eyes swept around the room where those who had already arrived were gathered, her ears pricked slightly at the sight of Illidis and she nodded to him slightly as she made her way across the room in order to claim a space for herself. Though as she finished taking stock of the gathered equines, a pang of disappointment stabbing at her gut as Simeon did not seem to be present, Isador's absence became glaringly obvious.
"Have we lost our host, or has he forgotten his own party?" She asked coolly, not really feeling much for keeping up the 'good girl' act. She didn't want to be here for any longer than necessary, and Isador's not being there certainly wasn't speeding things along.

Hawthorne | Aodh Commoner | Post One | She received the note with a hint of amusement, why would this horse well above her station wish to see her and in such secrecy. It was a funny world and she wondered silently if she had been noticed for her body guarding and she was required for some work.
When Rags called for her she met him swiftly and her earlier wondering eliminated as she had found out Rags had been invited too, she almost sighed in exasperation at the stallions musings.
"I really wouldn't say that too loudly, best to keep quiet just until I've had the chance to suss everybody and we can then both find out why were here" She whispered gently, she found him pressing closer into her side and swiveled her head to look at him briefly pressing her nose into his neck and flashing him a reassuring smile.
"I don't think its a trap I can hear others" she said nearly inaudibly.
As they entered the room her face fell back like a still pool of water all business, she shadowed Rags and stood at his shoulder her ears moving in all directions and her eyes scanning for possible escape routes if they were needed.
When Ragnarok asked her what she thought, she dipped her head and shifted so she was shielded from any watching eyes, she took a breath and looked at him an eyebrow arched.
"I'm not going to lie, I'm not keen too many faces I recognise but no clear motive of why he's gathered us here. I've spied three ways of escape and I can happily take out any immediate threats and remove you from this situation, if the need arises"
She broke down her thoughts and nodded when she was finished, hoping she was concise enough and relaying the information he wanted. Surveying the room once more and then looking back to Rags, she said softly
"What do you think?" an ear flicked towards the stallion.
She heard a mare pipe up and Hawthorne snaked her head round lightening fast to eye up the threat, teeth immediately on show
"Lower your tone, we have no quarrel with you and this wouldn't be the best place for a Discussion" She flared her nostrils and eyed up Viona, her eyes scanning the mare. Word Count: 400 Hawthorne seems a meanie but she's not ;-; sorry I was late to the party! Hope everybody is up for a cracking rp, and merry christmas! x

➳➳➳"Oh, don't you know what you got into?"
His lips quirked in a smile as Hawthorne briefed him in what she had thought, including escapes if they needed it. He couldnt help but feel a hint of pride for the mare; a once-Chevalier now working for the other side, but still throwing her full support and talent into the job. He gave her a quick nod, the smile wiped clean from his lips, his eyes mimicking her own gaze.
"Yes, good. Thank you." He replied with a sharp nod, pulling his head up to glace at the others as a few more joined them. His lips pressed together briefly, his ears suddenly flicking at the sound of another mare's voice.. a voice he recognized. His blood red gaze landed on a familiar roan coat, belonging to the slave he had met before.. but didnt bother to remember her name.
A smirk crossed her lips as Hawthorne scolded the slave, but stepped up around his flaring bodyguard with a calmer aura. "Me?" He asked, his tone purring with innocence. "Fancy seeing you again, dear, though i admit i had hoped our paths wouldnt cross again." He said with a light hearted chuckle and a quick wink. He didnt even care to address the stallion standing beside her.
It did strike him as odd that he and Hawthorne were the only commoners standing among Chevaliers and Nobles, accompanied by their slaves. His curiosity was certainly growing. He didnt have the best relationship with these types.. why was it so important that he and his trusted were here? A frown pulled once more at his lips.
This all certainly didnt feel right.
His attention was pulled back when the smaller, blue roan mare piped up. He couldnt help but chuckle at this, shaking his head lightly. His bright, fiery locks bounces across his neck. "Perhaps this was an invitation to play hide and seek." He replied, though his tone dripped of sarcasm.

Illidis | Pit Slave "In the end what separates a man from a slave? Money? Power? No, a man chooses, and a slave obeys." -Andrew Ryan, Bioshock
Illidis listened quietly to the other guests entering the room. Some sounded quite irritated in his opinion. Odd... He risked a glance up to see who might be here, and was surprised to meet the gaze of Regina. He remembered her from the attack on the Crucible... One of the only other slaves who was smart and didn't want to leave and get in trouble. Wait, was she here alone? He glanced about for a few more seconds, seeing no one that she was following. She was here alone... His gaze dropped down again, his ears twitching against his head. This was... Odd... It unnerved him. He shifted closer to Luciano, almost being tempted to ask him if they should leave. It didn't feel safe here.
Especially with the growing tension in the room, stemming from two particular voices. Stay out of it, just stay out of it. "S...Sir..." He cautiously looked up at Luciano, his voice hushed. "...If Adviser Isador does not appear soon, within ten minutes... I... Might suggest we go home..." He was somewhat terrified he'd get snapped at for trying to suggest this. "I don't think it's safe here." He added in a much softer voice, only for his master to hear. His instincts were starting to fire, telling him that the energy in the room was about to tip over the edge of the cliff. His green eyes flicked about under his darkened mane, risking another glance up to make sure no one was about to try anything.
And if his hunch was right, it could stem from the two clashing. There were nobles, chevaliers... Those higher ranked then him here. He shouldn't be doing this. He shouldn't be trying to talk to Luciano here at all. But, despite this, he managed to keep his gaze just barely off the ground, enough to be able to watch the events occurring. And protect Luciano if it came to it. He swallowed, shifting his shoulder again. Remain unassuming, remain calm and non-threatening until something actually happened. But something would. His gut told him so.

Caspian of Cygnus | Lord | Aodh
-----
"To banish imperfection is to destroy expression, to check exertion, to paralyze vitality." - John Ruskin
-----
Caspian was simply in his own mind. What was going on now, after all that had recently happened he had been summoned to come to some secret meeting. Secret being the key word here, that was stressed in the note he had received. His little world cracked slightly as he remembered his slave who trotted beside him. Umbra. He had asked a question. Taking a rather un-lordly like moment to shake his head and replay the last few moments he looked to the small colt.
"Umbra, do not hesitate to ask me anything" Caspian smiled down at the little horse who he had bought to keep his niece company. "Slave you may be, but you're are in my house and knowledge is always available. I do ask if you call me sir or lord when we are in public though, but at home. Caspian is just fine" He winked to the little one conspiratorially. Though Caspian demanded respect from his slave he was always sure to play it back. They were all horses and all though his name held power he would not hold that over another beings head unless he absolutely had to. "Sadly... I do not know why we are here"
Expressive as always, his voice echoed the nerves that rippled his heart ever so slightly. Something was going on but what could one do? If you were summoned by one above you simply could not refuse. Soon enough he found himself and Umbra being guided into the hall of the adviser and they were not alone. Some faces were strange to him, and this put the lord more on edge than before but a few he knew from here and there. Dimitri the Chevalier, he nodded at. Luciano, another noble such as himself gained a small head bow and he made his way to an empty place in the apparent waiting area. Most were milling about, small whispers and tones came from a few horses. Though one, who seemed fairly common by his attitude he was taking seemed rather disappointed at their wait. Another expressed the want to leave. Slapping a hoof to create some noise, Lord Caspian put on his public mask and spoke.
"Maybe there are more of us? I myself only arrived as this is obviously not meant for single interactions with the great Adviser. Adviser Isador may simply be waiting until we all have arrived." His purple eyes now looked at the others. What a mix of slaves, commoners and nobility of Aodh. This would be interesting.

Aodh | Noble Lord| Luciano
An eye slightly twitched as he heard the various concerned voices pipe up, seemingly all at once. Luciano bit the inside of his cheek as his patience steadily grew thinner, however his ears flickered at Illidis, surprisingly, sharing his emotions on the situation that stood before them; even suggesting to trek home if their host didn't arrive. His blue orbs widened at the hushed voice of the male, furrowing his brows in thought, "There are no threats here. I have trained you well, I have faith that you can take all of these individuals on without much effort." The Noble rasped to Illidis, whispering lowly so that his interaction with him was kept private as possible. "We will wait. These characters are sweltering in their own madness. Victims to their own overactive imaginations." He scoffed, his voice lowly rumbling as he inwardly spoke to Illidis, clearly unimpressed with the individuals set forth; besides a few faces here and there that couldn't be bothered to speak.
Eyebrows quirked as Caspian acknowledged his presence, returning the gesture with a slight bob of his head; somewhat stiffly. He clenched his jaws, hesitation pulled at his tongue before finally slackening and giving in to his addiction, "Illidis, you don't happen to have one of my cigars - do you?" Luciano turned to face Illidis, his face remained stoic yet his voice held a inquisitive tint to it - he wasn't going to keep his temper in line if the commotion gradually continued - desperately hoping that the grullo would give him the response he was seeking.

Illidis | Pit Slave "In the end what separates a man from a slave? Money? Power? No, a man chooses, and a slave obeys." -Andrew Ryan, Bioshock
The lack of harsh reprimands or public shaming somewhat surprised the pit fighter. Although, he should expect this from his master. He wasn't the type to do this. Illidis twitched an ear and glanced up again at the others while listening to his master speak. Perhaps he could? He was not sure. He didn't know the capability of anyone here, besides Regina, who he had seen fight before.
The grullo nodded obediently, his gaze dropping again, but his head held a bit higher. "Yes sir," he said, shifting a little. They'd wait. Alright. He could wait, even though he was slightly worrying about Algren. And about his familiar. Hopefully his ball python, Athos, wouldn't cause too much trouble for Algren.
The pit slave relaxed some more now, letting his ears relax from their tight, pinned back position, and letting his head raise. He could protect his master, things were alright. He blinked at the request, his green gaze lifting to meet Luciano's blue ones. This caused him to flinch, as he quickly internally reprimanded himself for meeting his master's gaze. He quickly lowered his eyes to Luciano's chest, and took a deep breath.
While he didn't have saddlebags or a pouch, he had a small habit of carrying things about in the folds of his neck scarf. "Yes sir, I do." He softly replied, tilting his head to look into the folds of his scarf. There it was. A cigar nestled in the folds, hidden away from sight.
He had been with Luciano long enough to know about his interest in cigars and smoking. He was stressed, so, he had taken one and hid it among his scarf folds on a whim. Just in case. Glittering green encased the cigar and he lifted it out from its hiding place. He handed it to his master before letting his gaze once again drop. He'd kept his gaze up higher then normal, for far too long. Good. He had done another thing to keep Luciano pleased. He'd be happy about that.
His ears twitched at the voice of another speaking. Maybe there were more. There were already quite a few here, however... The entire ordeal was odd, he shouldn't try to figure it out. It wasn't his place to question it, after all.

Hawthorne | Aodh Commoner | Post Two | Hawthorne's face remained still as Rags nodded and she turned herself back towards the others. Her eyes were still being kept on Viona, brief looks now and then to make sure the mare wasn't advancing any closer.
It was when Ragnarok began addressing the Viona, that she wanted to silence him, goading the mare and winking at her would surely only enrage her further, whatever Rags had done to her she doubted it was pleasantries.
She didn't allow her face to change until she looked at Ragnarok a single eye brow arching in question as to what exactly he had done, but she changed her mind and she looked back towards the others, maybe it was best not to know.
Another mare piped up and she nearly rolled her eyes, nobody had an ounce of patience. She surveyed the room once more and noticed something curious only she and Ragnarok were commoners and something pulled at her gut to leave, urgently.
This all felt very wrong, what were they actually summoned here to do and why would herself and her boss be needed? she wondered if it was something illegal, It was a possibility. Worry flickered across her face for the briefest of moments but she stood firm but looked at her Boss. Her voice was little more than a whisper and her brows furrowed.
"Have you noticed, that me and you are the only commoners here? The rest are a mix of slaves, pit fighters and owners. It's not sitting right with me, Boss. I think we should move to a better position in this room somewhere I can get you to safety"
She wouldn't move until she had his say so to move, they needed be close to an escape, the door could easily be filled with guards, she already looked out of the windows and only one looked feasible for escape, that's where she would place him or maybe a corner in the room, easily backed into so they were protected from behind.
Her mind was whirring trying to calculate the best possible way to protect Ragnarok. She decided that maybe the window that led back to the streets would be the safest option.
She looked towards Ragnarok again and bit her lip in thought, the sooner Isador arrived the quicker she would settle. she made herself relax and her face fell again becoming cool and calm once more, she took a breath and stood a little taller, her head turning to take another look at Viona and an ear flicking towards the mare before she looked towards the front once more.

.V I O N A .Servile Slave
Viona was not expecting the backlash she got, though she rightly should have knowing the stature of the opposing mare- Hawthorne. The draft had bared her teeth, putting Viona back in her place with the venom on her tongue. The roan withdrew, ears laying back against her thin neck and brow furrowing. Despite this look of contempt, fear could be seen plainly in the whites of her blue eyes. There was no doubting that her outburst was uncouth, but a part of her- a more independent part- reminded her that her actions had been warranted to a degree.. She bit her tongue however, heeding the threat that Hawthorne made knowing well that it could very well be a promise should she step out of bounds further- Oh Ignacio, Dimitri would probably give her a good tongue lashing later lest she explain herself.. Gaze the shade of forget-me-nots did not dare wander his direction, not yet.
Murmurs surrounded them, voices of uncertainty and displeasure ringing as echo through the hall. Perhaps it was best to remain silent, perhaps Adviser Isador was listening now, privy of their conversations.. Testing them and theirs. Viona gave a little shake and attempted to straighten up, gold jewelry catching the light of the falling sun. A burning on her face caused her to glance across the room- Hawthorne was staring. Viona looked away immediately, though was aware that the tall draft kept glancing her way, muscles tense as if prepared to fight. They were both being presumptuous, Viona herself for speaking in such a way and Hawthorne for thinking that Viona would attack- She would not fight here, not unless forced. Even then, running would probably be the only option her master would give her if a fight were to break out in the room.. Which, in hindsight, seemed to be where things were going if tensions were to rise any higher.
"I'm sorry.." she whispered, still not meeting her master's eyes. Moments passed, and still no sign of their host. Viona took a deep breath, venturing a sideways glance at the grey stallion as her curiosity got the better of her. "M'lord, why do you think it is we've been brought here..? Do you.. do you know Lord Isador well?", she gave a slight tilt of her head, ears flicking back submissively. Viona had to wonder if Dimitri knew any of the others at all- the fiery stallion especially.. How is this all connected?

Umbra | Servile Slave | AodhUmbra felt his face heat up at what Caspian said. He nodded quickly in understanding. "Okay, sir." He was glad to know he could call the stallion by his name when they were home and he understood why he shouldn't when they were away.
The colt huddled closer to his master as they found their spot in the room. He didn't like being there. Umbra found everything about the place, and the meeting, unsettling. Caspian didn't even know why they were there. That had to be a bad sign, certainly. Umbra glanced about the room. He had no clue who any of these horses were. But, they were terrifying. They all seemed mad, or at least irritated. So many of them looked like they were ready to attack if the need arose. Umbra couldn't understand that either. They had no reason to be worried or mad in the house of a noble. Not that he knew of anyway.
Umbra started at Caspian's stomp of the hoof. No one else seemed to pay his lord any mind, though. In fact, they seemed so caught up in their whispering that it was as though they had not heard him at all.
Umbra coughed as one of the stallions lit his cigar. The colt should have become accustomed to the scent of such smoke over the years, but his lungs didn't think so. He glanced up at Caspian. "I-I don't think they heard you, sir." He whispered to his lord. "Maybe we should wait somewhere else?" He was young and naive, so such a suggestion didn't seem too terrible in his mind.

Dimitri / Chevalier/ Aodh
The Chevalier moved slowly putting himself between the common trash of red and brash female who had no manners. His large semi draft body a muscle machine of its own. Dimitri cared not for such silly quarrels certainly a attack would prove how low on the totem pole one could get. He craned his neck to look at Viona watching her change her position of her body. The mare seemed more nervous than normal "Relax...I wont let such scum lay a hand on you.." he whispered to her quietly straightening up his posture not having been altered despite going from lord to knight.
"You dont need to apologize it was provoked. Some horses dont know when to keep their mouths shut." he gruffed out snorting and shaking his mane some. "I dont know why we were both invited... as far as I knew only my fellow knights know you are under my care. I have not meet Lord Isador personally. I have heard things about him afterall lords and ladies love to gossip." he spoke dryly staring around the room, he noticed how horses were in pairs of two mostly. It was indeed odd to say the least. Dimitri's head moved to the side adjusting his sword. "He better show his ugly mug soon or this 'invite' will be over. I have no intention of wasting my time." he was irritated now. How long had all of them been standing there waiting not to mention a secret meeting was a dangerous affair.
Dimitri kept a ear pinned toward the room moving Viona some with a gentle pressure to her side. The stallion wasnt in the mood to fight, nor in the mood to wait, slowly walking some to calm himself. He couldnt shake the feeling of a ambush or worse could happen. It was tarnish his reputation as a knight and snuff his chances of becoming a lord again, not to mention the promise to Viona. "I dont like this viona...something's not right." he whispered to her sensing the other horses discomfort as well. There was nothing to be done but simply wait this out or leave. The later option was looking better and better. The invitation was only a mere request it was not a direct order from command, nor was this a special invite for knights, no all of these horses were hoof picked for some reason or another.

➳➳➳"Oh, don't you know what you got into?"
The stallion's eyes rolled as a rather girly looking stallion slammed a hoof into the ground, trying to reason with the rather tense group. He had no intention of listening to a male who looked like a damn mare, what a disgrace. His attention was pulled back when the other Lord - Luciano - asked his slave for a cigar. He found a shiver running through his bones, his tongue gracing his lips. A smoke sounded excellent right now. He pulled his eyes away as the slave pulled out a thick cigar for his master, the craving evident in his eyes. Damn his addictions.
Luckily for him, Hawthorne saved him from dwelling on it any longer, her tough voice pulling him from his internal turmoil. He turned his gaze to hers, his ears on a swivel. He could see those around him were starting to get antsy too- two of the slaves already offering to leave for a safer area. He smiled softly as Hawthorne offered the same, shaking his head slowly.
"That, i have noticed." He replied with a snort, his nostrils flaring with frustration. It felt like they had been standing around for hours. He could tell the mare was getting more and more tense the longer they were here, a frown pulling at his lips. "Do not worry too much, my dear." He said, pulling his gaze back to his guard. "I doubt Adviser Isador wants blood on his precious fancy floors." He noticed her gaze shifting between the window against the wall and the corner of the room. A soft sigh pressed past his lips. "But if it will put you at ease, we can move." He gave her a short nod, following the mare wherever she so chose to put him.
He would always be grateful for her constant watch over him, no matter what sort of trouble he put himself into. He was truly blessed to have someone as loyal as Hawthorne.
"Some horses dont know when to keep their mouths shut." He couldnt help but smirk at the comment of the grey stallion, lips parting with a dark chuckle. Oh, this time he would keep his comments to himself, but they'd better not get used to it.
The stallion ruffled his scarf against his neck, making sure to keep the deep, slash scars that striped his neck like a tiger hidden. If he had any insecurities at all, those were it. They forced him to shave have of his neck, covering with with this scratchy fabric..
The stallion huffed, a grumble rumbling from deep in his chest. If Isador didnt show up soon, Rags was ready to call it. [/font][/div][/div]

Isador | Adviser
It was a mixed bag, to be sure, with as many stones as there were gems. Indeed, Diederich had voiced concern- and more than once, a rarity for the cultured slave- at Isador’s choice of invitees. But Isador, despite some quiet misgivings rooted mainly in his own prejudices (however accurate they may be) knew it was a necessary risk.
Risk… the stallion rolled the word over in his mind as he waited for his guests to assemble. He was too mannered to pace, but every so often a faint tap could be heard, the sound of an immaculate gilded horseshoe as it fidgeted on polished marble floors. Yes, what he was doing was a risk, and no doubt about it. But consorting with peasants- with slaves- did not heighten the risk. Indeed, there was nothing more dangerous on Ignacio’s blessed grounds than a room full of nobles.
Gems shone bright, gems were carefully shaped and unique- but they were finished. Stones, stones had potential, and Isador had told Diederich as much. And, the Adviser thought to himself, with another faint tap, it only took one stone, one carefully placed stone… to move a mountain.
He paused at that thought. The metaphor was apt- but to descend to using an Onean saying- crude, very crude. He was disappointed with himself, and could hear Diederich’s reply without trying- “what did you expect, consorting with commoners and slaves?”
“A spark, then,” he murmured to the absent Diederich. “It only takes a spark, to light a bonfire.”
The stallion lifted his head, blue eyes calm and resolved. It was time.
“Welcome.”
He stepped out of the shadows as he spoke, quite aware how the sunlight streaming through the arching windows glittered on his bridle, shone glossy on his mane and immaculate coat. A mixed bag this might be, but that only made appearances, impressions, all the more vital.
For everything he had worked for, hung in the balance, in the eyes of each suddenly silent equine staring at him.
“I apologize for the… irregular, nature of this gathering,” he continued, stepping further forward. “And I appreciate your discretion.” He halted finally, in front of a towering portrait of Ignacio, half in shadow.
“We are here, to discuss the present- and the future- of Aodh.”

Hawthorne | Aodh Commoner | Post Three | Hawthorne watched the mare retreat, she was frightened and that put her at some ease, she was hardly a threat. It was when Viona's master slid between the both of them and whispered sweet nothings to his pretty little slave.
Hawthorne scowled , anger flashing across her face like lightening striking the land. it was soon gone from her face and under her breath she whispered "Pig." with an arches brow and a flare of her nostrils, if only looks could kill, she thought.
She was not scum, she was a body guard and if she needed to defend her Boss that is what she would do. She flattened her ears and took a breath looking back towards Ragnarok.
"Do not worry too much, my dear" He said to her and she shot him a look "It is my job to worry, I've already calculated the majority of the risks in the room, I worry so you don't even have to think about it"
She flashed a wicked smile and relaxed, she almost felt reassured by his words and she was sure blood was quite hard to clean from the floors. Maybe murder wasn't the motive here.
More horses had moved away from them now and she saw a space that would both protect them from behind and give her a nice view of the room, she touched Ragnaok's shoulder and moved to the corner placing her rump against the smooth wall, which reassured her nothing was coming from behind them.
She saw him ruffling his scarf and watching him grumble with impatience "I think he'll be here shortly, he won't keep us waiting much longer." As soon as the words left her mouth the horse they had all been waiting for entered, he almost appeared from the shadows and she fixed him with a hard gaze as she listened to him.
He rattled off a few short sentences but Hawthorne had grown tired of waiting and pretty words so she spoke up loud and clear, asking what everybody was thinking.
"Why are we really here?"

.V I O N A .Servile Slave
Dimitri didn't seem at all as perturbed by her actions as she thought he might, in fact he'd chosen to stand up for her. How brave and how foolish- foolish of her. Guilt and gratitude pulled at her heart.. The restless energy in the room seemed to spike and a few of the groups had begun shifting about the large room, seeking air to breath and space to go unheard- save for the few who stayed put and tried rallying the unsettled to settling. Viona's ear switched back to listen to DImitri in response to her question. As was usual, it held less answers than she liked. The only definitive she got was that somehow this gathering was orchestrated without some direct connection to the Boy King, Amadeus. Was he aware? No, that was a ridiculous question- obviously this was right under his nose, no guards had greeted them, no escorts had arrived... The situation was increasingly frustrating and mysterious given the circumstances and Viona took note that none of the faces here matched the faces of Dimitri's regular accompaniment. Dimitri's remark about their host made her cringe and glance around nervously- she still couldn't let go of the idea that their host was here- The dun-striped unicorn had spoken words of truth, but even she had failed to heed that much. Her mind was racing.
A soft prickling on her side indicated movement and the blue-eyed mare was pulled from her thoughts by her master, his guiding touch pulling her along with him as he paced the only other open space available, past a tapestry and back, his disgruntled whispers filled her ears and she gave a sharp shake of her head, pausing where her hooves last touched the marble floor. "M'lord, If you feel that we should leave perh-" her ears flicked back, a new sound interrupted her... The sound of delicate hoofsteps entering the room pulled her attention to a portion of the great hall that lay half bathed in ever deepening shadowed. A stallion emerged from before the tapestry of Ignacio.. his fleabitten coat shone in the light and his eyes were as flinty and as bright as the very fires of the Fire God himself.
"Welcome." he addressed the room, apologizing for the unorthodox congregation but.. Viona was honestly confused why more of them weren't apologizing to him. He must've heard what they were saying- Just how long had he been standing there?
The silence after his introduction was broken abruptly by the ever rough and demanding voice of none other than Hawthorne. Viona's tail flicked in irritation. "I believe Advisor Isador here has already explained that much.." she grumbled, audible only to those listening close enough. Her eyes traveled to Dimitri, then back to their host. Her heart fluttered as an idea came to mind.. The roan mare quietly cleared her throat, hoping that the order of this meeting truly did give her more room to speak. "I- believe the better question would be as to what exactly we are to discuss.. If, you understand my meaning. Honestly- I c-can't be the only one wondering why we were chosen to come under your hospitality given the most recent events within the kingdom.." Viona felt her cheeks flush with color when she finished, feeling satisfied but also extremely daring to speak in such a way. Hopefully she'd made sense.

Regina || Pit Fighter "She's a killer....queen" It became strikingly clear to Regina only a few moments after her arrival that she was quiet alone here. It seemed every other guest had either elected to bring a slave alone or perhaps were asked to bring one, and she could hardly imagine any of the slaves being invited separately. Really the only reason she'd come herself was because this whole secret meeting thing was deemed Very Important. Though she did have to admit curiosity did play a role in her decision to possibly start an uproar by demonstrating the fact that she did have free will despite her social status.
Even so, she wasn't exactly used to standing around alone with no one watching her or speaking to her at all, and the roan mare found herself shifting her weight awkwardly as several different conversations filled the room around her. What was taking Isador so damn long anyway? Nobles were so high strung she wouldn't doubt it if the stallion were still doing his hair, or makeup, or whatever the hell advisers do in the morning. She opened her mouth to say something once more when lo and behold the man of the hour decided to finally show up to his own Very Important Secret Meeting.
Two other mares beat her to speaking out once Isador's grand opening was complete, and to both Regina rolled her eyes. The servile slave probably thought herself brave, speaking out as such. It was a perfect example as to why Regina much preferred the company of other fighting slaves. Servile slaves were too soft, too submissive, they didn't know how to get what they wanted. Perhaps they were taught to not want anything at all, but that was hardly a way to live either.
Snorting and stomping a front hoof lightly to gain the attention of the gathered equine, she turned to Isador with a raised head and narrowed eyes. "I believe what they are both trying to say is, cut to the damn chase already, none of us have time for vagueness. If whatever this is about isn't worth our time I'm sure we all have things we'd rather be doing than standing around talking about nothing."

➳➳➳"Oh, don't you know what you got into?"
The stallion slumped against the wall, his back leg cocking to the side as he chewed on his lip and glared forward. It wasnt until the sound of hoof steps brought his attention forward, proving Hawthorne's predictions right as a speckled fellow stepped out of the shadows. An ear pressed to the side as Ragnarok gave him a quick once-over, the sunlight shining over the strangers coat and sparkling bridle. He had stopped before the large painting of Ignacio, as if the god himself were looking down on all of them.
The stallion snorted in amusement. There was no way the adviser hadnt planned that. What a tryhard.
He listened as the other's spoke, his narrowed gaze flicking back to the roan slave as she "bravely" stepped forward to speak, his eyes rolling. Servile slaves were so weak. His real attention had been focused on the grumpy blue roan mare. Here she was, a slave without a master, who cared not what others though when she opened her mouth, and told it exactly how it was. No sugar coating. No trying to seem "polite." No bullshit.
He liked that.
The black stallion's blood red gaze then turned back to the adviser, irritation evident in his stance as he leaned forward, finding all hooves back on the ground and ears pressed back against his neck.
"Yeah, some of us have to work for a living, so standing around here chit chatting is not something we have time for. Spill it, Sir." He grumbled, his tail flicking behind him and brushing against the wall with irritation.

Hawthorne | Aodh Commoner | Post Four | Hawthorne decided that she hated Viona, and she hoped the slave would never cross her path again, more for her sake than Hawthornes. Viona had rubbed her up the wrong way entirely and clamping her jaw together she fluttered her eyelids shut and counted to ten in her head, once ten was reached she opened her eyes, exhaling a long breath and fixing her eyes towards Isador.
Her attention was drawn when a blue roan mare stomped her foot against the floor and she looked over. She agreed with what the mare said and liked that she said it as Thorne would have liked, but decided to hold her tongue and try not to get angry.
Hawthorne returned her attention to Isador to see what he response would be but Ragnarok had decided to add into the chorus of voices, she chewed her lip thoughtfully and had to stifle a yawn.
She looked over at Ragnarok and then back to Isador. She wondered if they would all have separate reasons for being called here and if the equine pairs were going to be sent off in tasks together or if they were actually just going to have a conversation about Aodh.
She considered all the options but she was getting awfully bored of being around all these horses that she didn't know or for some of them she didn't like. She had noted everybody seemed to becoming irritated and wondered if that was exactly what Isador wanted, to see who could remain cool and calm and who would implode at the slightest hint of an argument.
Maybe Isador was cleverer than he looked standing there in his shiny outfit, she had to give him credit for choreographing the position he stood with the sunlight bouncing off him.
The sunlight reflecting from him to make him the center of attention, but it didn't stop horses asking him to elaborate what he really meant and what exactly was in store for them.
You could feel the irritation bouncing from all the horses in the room, it wasn't exactly a tea party so she took a quick look around the place and decided just to wait for an answer from Isador, whenever he got the chance to speak. He eyes returned to the front and she fixed her gaze on the shiny Isador.

Isador | Adviser
Stones, indeed. War Forged metaphors were apt for this group, no matter what Diederich might have said. Listening to the prattle, the Adviser stifled his irritation. Good breeding and better manners kept Isador from rolling his eyes, but he was sorely tempted. Only the servile mare, Viona, had any propriety at all. Serviles truly were the backbone of Valore.
Isador’s cool gaze slid to Regina, as the pit slave hurled her typical vitriol his way. He wasn’t offended, or at least not past the principle of it. Obviously slaves were expected to keep a civil tongue in their heads, but a certain degree of… rebellion, was indulged, in the pit fighters. And Regina’s recent and interesting change in ownership perhaps contributed to her impudence. So, the Adviser merely raised a brow at the roan mare.
“Do you not?” he asked mildly. “Do you truly not have time for this meeting? Only, it seems to me you have nothing but time, these days, while the Crucible is rebuilt.” He flicked his immaculate tail once, a gesture both emphatic and disinterested. His eyes moved to the brooding Ragnarok. A hulking, common, brute of a horse- coarse to the bone but with a shrewd, calculating mind and an instinct for profit.
“And you, too-” he continued, addressing the surly stallion. “Business surely cannot be booming at your casino, presently. With the labor slaves expiring faster than we can replace them for rebuilding the city and Crucible,” a nod towards Regina, “and discontent with the Serorans… no, business cannot be going well for you. After all, here you are. All of you.”
His gaze swept the group, landed on the nervous, fidgeting form of Hawthorne.
“These reasons, are why we are here,” he addressed the mare. “We are losing Aodh, we are losing what it means to be Aodhian. Tell me, truly- are you, all of you, content with the direction the flames are blowing? The city attacked by creeping Vagabonds, business strangled, even worse with Breim after the King’s disastrous visit there- and now, and now- the Seroans break their word to us, because they know, they see, that we are weakened, that we are not the noble, shining world power we ought to be!” His voice had not risen in volume, but command and crept into the tone, and at these last words the stallion set a forehoof down with a resonant click.
“Tell me,” he repeated, blue eyes blazing, head held high as he stood before Ignacio’s portrait. “Tell me, what should we do now, with all of this time we should not have?”

Caspian of Cygnus | Lord | Aodh
-----
"To banish imperfection is to destroy expression, to check exertion, to paralyze vitality." - John Ruskin
-----
Umbra had been right, he had pretty much been ignored though few did note he had spoken. He rolled a shoulder in irritation of generations of lords. He was still fairly new to this but his upbringing had shown him his word was worth listening to. Letting those feelings go he nodded to his slave. He was about to respond to a fellow horse who had seemed interested until the adviser himself finally made an appearance to the seemingly apprehensive bunch.
"And I appreciate your discretion."
Giving a silent nod to Adviser Isador, Caspian was rather shocked when a commoner pipped up immediately. Well, of course they would not know how to go about such things, he thought arrogantly. Sighing inwardly at himself and the situation they found themselves in. He constantly struggled to not be the typical lordly type but it was in his knowledge since he was born that he would one day be a lord and that skewed one's thinking rather heavily. Shaking an ear as the servile slave, Viona did what he should have and stood up for the Adviser. He smiled at her as she continued about wanting to know what was needed to discuss. This one he was interested in knowing even if she was anothers slave, but that was not here or now. Another horse, a pit fighter, insisted with the rudeness displayed by the commoner that they wanted to stop beating around the bush. Standing proud he watched as the collection of commoners and nobility were beginning to spark against one another.
As the adviser took the lead again, talking about the current issues, Caspian could feel his stomach and anger boil. It was true, even the nobility were feeling the echoes of what had happened and what their very king had brought about. Biting the inside of his mouth, he nearly chided himself for bad words against the young king but he stopped as Isador called out.
"Tell me, what should we do now, with all of this time we should not have?"
He knew it was a time to speak up, and not by any commoner. He stepped forward for the first time since Isador entered.
"We plan changes. Changes that will keep Aodh as you say, Adviser. Changes that will make us..." His mind began to drum up thoughts as he paused to look at a commoner than the chevalier and then back to Isador. "strong again"

Hawthorne | Aodh Commoner | Post Five | Hawthorne met Isador's gaze and became steady as a rock, flaring her nostrils slightly she was about to snap out a response but Caspian beat her to it. She listened to what both stallions had to say and arched a brow, she took the moment to get herself in check, and get her temper back under control.
She realised they were possibly meeting here because Isador had run out of ideas on how to save there crumbling Aodh, and he was now asking the commoners what to do.
She allowed herself to internally smile, surely he wouldn't really want or use her opinion and surely he should consult those around him first, such as the Lords and those in a position of more power than she.
She thought back to the days of training to be a lady with her mother and how to word her next few words in such a way that would make her sound like she knew what she was talking about, in theory she did.
She had seen the power behind Aodh with its chevaliers, as she was a chevalier before she had taken the position of bodyguard for Ragnarok and she knew what a force to be reckoned with they could be.
"We are weakened, but not entirely weak."
She said coolly, looking back to Isador again. She thought about what she was to say next, very briefly and began speaking again in a strong but level voice.
"We need to show, as Lord Caspian said - strength. We need to stop the others herds from getting too bold and we need to do something fast before any of the herds think we are so weakened that they can move in, on Aodh."
She looked around at the equines gathered in the room, maybe her next question was one everybody was thinking but she knew for certain she had been wondering it since she stepped foot in the room.
"Can I ask, why you have gathered such a mix of Lords, Slaves and Commoners to answer this question you are asking us?"

Dimitri / Chevalier/ Aodh
The stallion stared down the advisor, nostrils slightly flared, to make them wait like this was frustrating to say the least. As he finally did speak the stallion could hardly hold back his desire to roll his eyes at the words. He did not mind allowing Viona to speak up after all she had been summoned as well. To him that was proof enough her voice mattered. Dimitri was more impressed that she did stutter out that statement, it put a small smile upon his face. He was proud she was growing more bold and confident.
Though his attention brought back as many spoke up, his ears flicking from one horse to another until the advisor spoke again asking them to 'tell him'. Dimitri pondered if it had gotten that bad. Yea sure the knights spoke, rumors and gossip but had things truly gotten so bad that the advisor himself was asking a mix of social roles for ideas. A way to fix all of these things. It almost appeared desperate in his eyes despite the fancy presentation and voice laced with authority.
As Caspian spoke Dimitri looked at the exchange, agreeing with his statement, eyes staring back at the lord briefly before hearing another speak. His ears flicked before causally listening. The knight was a stallion of few words, taught to hold his tongue if he had nothing to contribute, he glanced down at Viona. "You spoke very well Viona" he whispered only loud enough for her to hear, praising her politeness. The knights were somewhat closed off to the main city and training had been more rigorous than normal. Dimitri had hardly left the living grounds. Rumors were now becoming reality and he pondered what was true now. The advisor seemed to make it very clear they were in a downhill decline. Where would his loyalties lie if the worst came up. There had been talk about the leader and his decisions among some of the knights. Whether he was the right candidate for the job. If things did go to war would he be able to lead the chevaliers into battle. His thoughts broken by another.
Hawthorne's final question was one he was pondering, why gather from what seemed like a random assortment of horses, but also why the secrets. If the advisor was truly looking for advice from the different society roles why not ask more to show, why did it feel like they were specifically chosen. One from each class division along with their slaves invited. Typically slaves werent brought to such events but for them to all have received a invite as well. Dimitri silently waited to hear the advisors response before speaking.

Umbra | Servile Slave | AodhUmbra stiffened as he watched their host approach from the shadows. He pressed himself against Lord Caspian's right flank. Being in this room instantly made him feel nervous and anxious again. He was surrounded by so many large, well-known horses. Even the other slaves seemed to have a name for themselves. Umbra took in a deep breath and let it out. He just needed to get his head back. Maybe Umbra would be able to actually voice his opinion, another servile slave had.
He slowly, carefully stepped away from his master's side. Umbra cleared his throat quietly. "Wh-what changes do we need to m-make?" He asked Isador in a soft voice. "Sir." The colt added in, remembering he needed to show respect for those of higher ranks and greater ages. "Why do the Serorans dislike us right now?" He knew a lot about little facts that did not matter. But, politics were lost on the foal.
Umbra remembered he had not asked Caspian permission to speak. He quickly returned to the noble's flank. He looked up at him with apologetic eyes. "Sorry... I should have asked, sir." He whispered to the stallion. Umbra remembered hearing once that it is better to ask forgiveness than to never try. Maybe that was wrong...
