Taavetti
Taavetti glared intensely at everyone who came up to greet Ingrid. After what Ember did he wasn't exactly convinced that nobody would decide to set his sister on fire again, or perhaps try decapitation or electrocution this time. He kept himself pressed against his mother's side as well, taking comfort in the feeling of her solidness, she was an anchor of sorts --keeping him grounded while the strangeness of the day's events tried its hardest to throw him for a loop. He took the time to think back to the morning, when he had been nothing but excited to have a new sibling, and his only worry stemmed from the fact that Ammy had gone to Breim. Now, however, his excitement was nothing but a wisp of what it had been. Not that he wasn't happy to have a sibling, because he certainly was, but it was now less excitement and more of an anxious type of feeling. He would rather just take Ingrid now and usher her inside to enjoy her company without the crowd of strangers who thought they had the right to get within ten feet of his sister. But of course that would only result in more scolding, so he instead contented himself with pinning his ears and continuing to glare fiercely at everyone around him who wasn't a member of his family. post: 5 words: 227

Syria Ambassador from Serora
Perhaps the young mare was in a bit of a daze, or far too deep in thought. The line seemed to move onwards, but she? Well she seemed to stand still in time. Eyes glanced to the family of the Lilith and her heart dropped. What kind of madness was all of this? They burned a child alive, and though she was still alive, it did not make that suddenly vanish. Now everyone was here to look and gaze upon the child. Yes, Syria was indeed curious, she wanted to look, but a sick feeling in her stomach made her feel like all of this was so wrong. That she should turn tail and walk out, but how rude would that be? Somehow Syria had the sinking feeling Ember would of course find out and somehow she would bring dishonour to Serora. A heavy sigh escaped her lips as she tossed her head a bit, allowing her mane to breath a bit.
Hooves trotted forwards as she moved back with the line and soon it was her turn. Though she didnt not step to closely to them all, wanting them to have all their space they needed. "A pleasure to have been a witness to all of this. You have a beautiful child, Lilith." she commented with earnestly. "I pray the gods shine brightly on your family and you as well." Eyes turned to the small child and she looked down and smiled all the more. "Little one, you have been blessed with such a wonderful family." Eyes lifted to Lilith once more. "Congratulations Lilith." she smiled before dipping her head in respect the little family that stood before everyone. With that Syria walked off, the smile falling from her face, as she worried for them all. With this news... it surely would not be accepted to warmly from the other herds.

After a few minutes of relative solitude, Bones let out a breath and decided he'd better get back in there and put on a good face for everyone. Not like he particularly wanted to. He sighed, and slowly, tentatively, got to his chipped hooves, careful. Anxiety blazed in the back of his mind, and his chest was still tight with it. Bones stepped back closer to the throng around Ingrid, of those from all corners of Hireath, of all backgrounds. He knew he lacked the political and social tact of his fellow advisors, he spoke what came to mind whether it was proper or not, but he spoke regardless.
"All righ' all righ' Ah think tha's nearly enough excitement for our little Ingrid don' yeh think? Ah know everyone wants to see 'er, but ah think the li'l lady should be with 'er mum, yeah?" Bones said hoarsely to his fellow advisors, Isador and Ember. He came up beside Isador and slowed to a stop, wheezing slightly. His ragged tail flicked, the tip of his tail thwacking harshly across his bony hips. His blue eyes, tired but alert, flickered across the assembled equines. The crowd was beginning to die off, if only slightly, and Bones worried slightly for Ingrid and Lilith. Ingrid was so new, and despite being a "blessed kirin" she was still just a baby, and she needed time to bond with her mother. He doubted Lilith was entirely comfortable with all this, it was unusual to have such a big celebration for a child.
Though, he had to wonder, how had Ember known? He was doubtful Ember had x-ray vision, though he wouldn't be surprised if she did. Ember was enigmatic, to say the very least. His greying brows lowered slightly over those blue eyes of his as he thought, a wrinkle forming between said eyebrows, but could not come up with any solution that did not make his stomach twist. Too much complexity and magic for him.
"If I may, Isador. A private chat sometime perhaps? I have some concerns that I would love teh talk to yeh about" Bones whispered low in Isador's ear. Standing here next to the two prim, proper advisors, Bones looked very much out of place, scuffed, scarred, and looking as though he was about to keel over at any second. Quite frankly he appeared a little ill.

Asalah slowly sucked a breath in between her teeth and turned the other way, forcing her hooves to move against the crowd as she left the area that was so often blocked by closed gates. She turned her head back for a moment, wondering where her sister was in the crowd of horses before reminding herself that whatever had been said earlier to upset her would be dealt with by the end of the night. For now, it'd be best for the larger horse to just get home and get the hell out of this place. There was too much going on and although she wanted to do her best to turn back to Lilith and tell her congrats on the new filly, she knew it'd be a lot harder to get much of anything out in the open while so many were there.
She closed her eyes slowly and made her way out, somehow managing to get out of the gates without bothering with her intangibility. She was lucky for the time being, which meant she could probably get home without issue as well. She was pretty sure everybody in the herd was no here instead of in their own homes. As soon as the Kirin child was revealed she wouldn't have been surprised if some horses had left to quickly tell the news to their families only to have them return when the gates opened.
She wouldn't be certain though, nor did she really take the time to worry over it. For now, she'd just head home and wait for her sister to bother her.

Aodh Commoner
Rosie did all she could to halt the development of Lilith's injuries. With the cool water she hoped that the burns wouldn't form too deeply so that any scarring would fade over time and vanish entirely. It was too early to predict the outcome but she could still hope. So while the crowd pulsed around them, new faces breaking through constantly to take in the miracle, Rosie focused on soothing burned skin, fanning cold air onto the wet cloth. She locked her own curiosity away, but couldn't help steal a glance towards the child once in a while. Oh how terrifying this whole ordeal had to be for the newborn. Unable to understand what was going on around her, cut off from her mother and with all these strangers pressing in on either side. Would it traumatize the little one? Perhaps in the future she would fear crowds or maybe she wouldn't stand being separated from her mother? No, no don't think like that, Rosie! She would recover easily. Rest by her mother's side in safe surroundings, and in a matter of days all of this would be forgotten. Yet Rosie couldn't help but feel an overwhelming desire to sweep up mother and child and bring them far from the crowd. Rosie caught Bones' old voice and felt a small smile tug at her lips, agreeing silently.

Hancock scoffed and rolled his eyes once more at Nerine "yeah, well let's hope that Cascade and her children get some sense knocked into them" he spat with venom, pissed at Nerine. Shaking his head, he turned around away from her, deciding that he didn't want to put up with any more of her preaching "Listen, you can stay here all you want and scream 'blasphemy' at the poor filly, but I'm going home. Have fun on the boat ride home" he scoffed once more, finally looking away from her. Sure, she was his friend but Lilith had been his friend a lot longer than Nerine had. So of course he was going to defend her first. But if Nerine was just going to keep telling him that he was wrong and that the filly was the devil incarnate he wasn't going to put up with it.
Gods, he really needed a smoke. Hancock could feel a headache brewing just behind his ears and folded them respectively. He just wanted to get home and lay down, maybe have a nap or better yet, maybe he should figure out where Octavia had gotten to...
nap first, Octo second...

Liri Aodh Merchant
Liri was freaking out. A kirin, a kirin, a kirin… That word just kept running through her mind, throwing all the other switches off and leaving only that. She knew the stories. She knew what happened to them. And what will most definitely happen to them if they came back. But that was the least of her worries at the current moment. Because the freaking adviser lit the kid on fire. Memories flashed inside her head. Flames…and a house…burnning. Liri sucked in a breath, holding back a scream filled with past sorrow. No, not like this. And as suddenly as the flames started, they stopped, leaving the baby no worse for wear, just slightly terrified. There was an uproar from the people, everyone wanting to jump to the filly’s aid or to attack the fire-breathing adviser, Liri could not tell. All she knew was that she wanted out. Now. “Kirins do not burn.” The adviser said, giving a matter-of-fact look to the crowd below her. Liri looked up to her, realizing her eyes show a sort of happiness, though she could not tell if it was for maleficent purposes. Another stallion pushed in front of the adviser, a flea-bitten grey with odd red marks across him. “Citizens of Eithne, honored guests, a glorious day is indeed upon us, and you are invited to meet this harbinger of our new age. Yes, children of the Fire, come and meet her, meet the future of your herd. Kirins again walk the Fire Lord’s blessed earth. Meet her, and rejoice.”
Most definitely not what I want to do, that’s for sure. But she could not get away. The crowd pushed her forward through the ever-widening gates, the creaking of its shifting weight lost in the sound of the crowd’s excitement. Einar was next to her, talking about meeting the War-Lord, though his words fell on deaf ears. “I..I have to go-“ She didn’t even finish her sentence before she bolted, leaving everyone to meet the Kirin. She ran out of the gates, galloping down the streets, past other horses that missed the celebration, if you could call it that. She didn’t stop at her house, instead running as fast as she could. Eventually, she reached the cliffs that plummeted into the ocean deep, only a railing separating her from falling. Sliding to a stop, she took deep gasping breaths, sorrow rushing through her. I tried so hard to not remember, tried so hard not to show it. Tears coursed down her cheeks, a deep sadness spreading through her body. She couldn’t be happy for the Kirin today. This was the anniversary of her family’s’ death.

Airita || Aodh Commoner
Nerine seemed to get up just fine, and the other horses seemed more worried about telling her to stop freaking out. Even in her distressed state, Airita allowed a tiny smile to reach her muzzle. She silently moved away, padding torwards the line to visit young Ingrid. She really wanted to have a look at the 'reborn' Kirin, and possibly get away from Asalah a while longer. As she waited for her turn, a mare called Airita's attention. She wasn't that well-versed in the other herds politics, but... wasn't that the War-Forged leader? Airita watched, slightly shocked. Yes, she knew this was a christening of the royal family, but actually seeing other important horses, other than the royal family and the Talori emissary, was a bit surprising, even though it shouldn't be. She heard of what Hira had been doing in her land, and Airita admired her for it.
Those thoughts were enough to distract her, at least for a moment, about what had happened between her, Asalah, and Ragnarok. Unfortunately, anger and another, unknown emotion she didn't want to name creeped up again. She sighed, and soon enough, found herself face to face with the filly and her mother, who had her injuries being tended to. "Hello, little one." She whispered, looking at the way the filly's scales sparkled under the sun.
"All righ' all righ' Ah think tha's nearly enough excitement for our little Ingrid don' yeh think? Ah know everyone wants to see 'er, but ah think the li'l lady should be with 'er mum, yeah?"
Airita snapped back to attention at the voice of one of the advisors. Blushing a little, wondering if she was doing anything wrong, Airita nodded, bowing slightly before looking at Lilith. "I'm... really sorry about what happened. She's a gorgeous little girl." She whispered, focusing on her injuries, before glancing at the kirin one last time and moving away.
She really wished the attempted burning of the filly was the worst thing that happened today, but she knew there was still Asalah to deal with. Well, this day couldn't get any worse, right?
