Kenneth Agriculturalist
He knew that everyone was nervous and confused, and he was too. Most of them were rather young, and had not faced the world yet. Of course they would be hesitant. They all had valid concerns, but they would have to face them at some time or another. Today might as well be that day."Sven is right, we should move before it gets too warm out," Kenneth supported, glancing around at everyone. "I know that this journey could house many dangers, but I think that is why Cascade has brought so many of us together. We need to help each other, and combine our strengths to go out and meet whatever fate she has in store for us," he encouraged, hoping that his words might stir them. "We can work through our obstacles as we meet them, and I am certain that we shall complete our mission." His gaze landed on Heidi as he finished his statement, ensuring her that he had heard what she had asked. "Those of you with the most vivid dreams should guide us," he suggested, looking at Sven, who seemed to have the strongest inkling of where they were going. "I have combat training, so I will remain in the back and watch ahead. Seven," the appaloosa turned to the young unicorn. "You should stay in the front and help us set the pace."Post 4 | 232 Words

Cygnet - Talori Brewer
Cygnet looked at Sven and nodded slightly when he answered her, it was nice to know she didn't seem like she was being stupid. She looked around their close circle and wondered about each equines strengths and weaknesses
"I am a skilled swimmer, and I can fight fairly well when it comes down to it"
She nodded, and looked round to see if anyone else was speaking up about anything. Her eye caught Laurens who was looking like she wasn't up for much taking and would prefer to just move out. Cygnet watched her curiously, flicking a black ear towards the mare.
She returned her attention back to the group and looked at Sven again, and then Vaena spoke up so Cygnet turned her head towards her, listening to the mare
"Why the Wilds?"
Vaena had a fair point, why were they going to the wilds. Cygnet knew deep down that's where they were being drawn too,she could feel the vines and other plants curling round her legs vividly from her dream and her breath hitched a second on the thought of being tangled. Cygnet took a breath and steadied herself
"That's where Cascade is pulling me, to the wilds. So i'm thinking that's where she wants us to go and we cant all be wrong."
Cygnet again turned her head to Laurens and watched her take a few steps, she wondered where the other mare was going "Laurens, come back to the group for a minute. Your opinion is just as important as everyone elses." Cygnet said slowly, motioning slightly with her head for the other mare to rejoin the group.

Thalassa Talori Cleric
The cleric listened as more horses joined the group and introduced themselves. It amazed her that in a time of such chaos in their nation, the great Sea Mother would pull so many from such different walks of life together for a common cause. Maybe that was the whole purpose of all this...to draw Her children together once more. Whether or not that was the only reason, Thalassa was glad to be a part of it. Smiling softly, she bowed her head as a prayer was spoken over the group, marking the beginning of their journey. Ears flicked around quickly as equines discussed where to go, when to go, how to go, who should be leader, etc. It was rather difficult to keep up with, but the gold spotted mare managed. Finally, Kenneth's strong voice spoke out, and she felt compelled to listen to what he had to say. "Sven is right, we should move before it gets too warm out, I know that this journey could house many dangers, but I think that is why Cascade has brought so many of us together. We need to help each other, and combine our strengths to go out and meet whatever fate she has in store for us. We can work through our obstacles as we meet them, and I am certain that we shall complete our mission." "Those of you with the most vivid dreams should guide us, I have combat training, so I will remain in the back and watch ahead. Seven, You should stay in the front and help us set the pace."Thalassa nodded in agreement as the older stallion spoke. Sven did seem to have the most vivid directions, and the mare would gladly follow him if it meant uncovering the truth behind these visions. She found herself nodding once more as the mare called Cygnet began speaking, listing her own strengths and encouraging others to speak up as well, especially the one mare, Laurens, who seemed to be rather quiet. “I agree with much of what has been said in these last few moments.” Thalassa spoke, her voice strong and unwavering, as was expected of a Cleric in Cascade’s service. “I don’t have much physical prowess to offer, but I am rather attuned to the spritual atmosphere of most places. I will not be able to act as a guide, as my dreams and visions, as vivid as they have been, are more obscure in their content. I may be able to help once our destination has been reached though.” She offered an encouraging smile to Sven, acknowledging he was likely in the best position to lead them. “I am also in favor of Seven helping lead the way. His youth may provide a different perspective and allow him to see something we older equines might miss.” She smiled reassuringly at the young tenderfoot before glancing around the group once more, waiting for a consensus to be reached.

Checkpoint 2// As the conversation continues, you feel a strong urge to begin your journey into the wilds. Whether it's the sun's heat as it slowly rises to it's highest point, or Cascade's gentle pulling on your soul, you know that you must begin to move now if you wish to learn the reason for these visions and dreams.

Seven | Tenderfeet
Seven trotted away from the group, before quickly realizing that no one was following him. They had all begun talking again, this time more seriously about the journey itself. But Seven was a creature of action. He preferred to just go with the flow; he didn't think things through, he simply acted and reacted. Talking was boring. He let out an audible sigh, before lowering his head and turning back to the group. He tried to listen, but his attention span didn't allow it for long. Most of the words went over his head, only the more exciting phrases entering his ears. "I can swim really good," he offered. "Not as good as my brother, because he's a hippocampus, probably, but I'm still good. You should see how long I can hold my breath!" But his rambling was drowned out by more frustratingly dull planning. He frowned again. Adults always stood still for too long. Oh, but one had started to move! His roaming eyes had noticed the bay mare begin to step away. She must have gotten bored with the talking too, and decided to leave. The colt ducked around Kenneth, preparing to ask her where she was going, when the sound of his name stopped him mid-step. He looked around, immediately distracted. "Seven, you should stay in the front and help us set the pace."The tenderfoot's eyes sparkled noticeably as he broke into a wide open-mouthed grin. They would let him lead Cascade's mission with Sven! The goddess would be so happy with him! The cleric's words, backing Seven's position at the front, only made his grin bigger, his eyes scrunching up in excitement. He didn't know what "perspective" meant, but he felt certain that he could keep his eyes sharp and spot anything they might need to see. He bounded between the group, unable to contain himself. He couldn't possibly stand around debating any longer, not with his new role of pace-setter waiting for him. "Come on! Come on!" he happily yelled, before taking a few galloping steps away from the group towards the looming jungle. He turned to them, and bounced back. Something internal seemed to drag on him, making moving backward harder than moving forward. "Cascade is waiting!"In many of the adults' faces there was a shyness that he mistook for hesitation. Sometimes even adults get scared, he told himself. That's why they had to talk about stuff so much - so that they wouldn't be as scared. "Cascade will protect us on our mission," he beamed up at them, the picture of childish innocence. "I know she will." Without missing a beat he spun around, once more squealing, "Come on!" Again he began down the road, though this time with a high-stepping march, his sea glass horn pointed towards the sky and his tail trailing like a banner behind him. (Post 4: 478 words)

Væna had come to realize that, of all the creatures now surrounding her, of all these common folk claiming holy visions and visitations, the only one she trusted to lead her away from her own misgivings was that spotted stallion over there.
He was big, and older than her by a good bit -- older than most of them, probably, for the crowd seemed young -- and when he spoke he did it briefly. He didn't waste a single word, and his advice seemed solid to her.
He reminded her of her father.
The knife in her breast twisted savagely and the little tawny mare took a breath nobody noticed. She stood alone and looked at the Warrior (for she had not noticed his name and he looked warlike enough to have earned the title) and with an ache in her chest decided that she would surrender her panic to him.
She may be overwhelmed by the faces of these many strangers, and she may be underwhelmed by the words which bloomed from their mouths like an exquisite garden in which she knew she had no place, but him --
Here was a leader she knew how to follow.
Væna breathed deep, and settled. She would follow the Warrior, and see where his adventure led.

Laurens | Personal Assistant Cygnet called her back. She suddenly felt so very self conscious, but a bounding body caught her attention. The little one that was with them had seen her step away. His name was... Seven? Odd, but not the oddest. His attention turned again, so she turned hers. Laurens hoped that Cygnet wouldn't take offense, but she was being pulled away so strongly. The group shared more words before finally beginning their journey, putting Laurens at ease.
Most of the group passed by her without word before she followed. Something in her heart felt at ease as they moved closer to the wilds. The road became dustier as they left the city behind them. Laurens saw a split in the path that was far too familiar. It was the road she would take to go home, to the farm. Her eyes lingered even after they passed it, but she tore herself from it and pushed forward.
She gained up to Seven who was so boldly leading the group and he made her smile. Such unbridled joy and willingness. A great leader to have. Cascade sure knows how to pick them...

Sven | Talori | Entertainer
The paint stallion stood, his eyes scanning each face in the group. He could see the uncertainty that was painted on most of their faces and understood why they were so hesitant. This whole thing was crazy! They were all here because the goddess, Cascade, had sent them dreams to come out into the middle of nowhere, and they didn’t even know what for! Sven was sure that not many would have followed after these callings. Who knew, maybe there were more receiving these dreams and they were the only ones who had answered. But Sven wasn’t one to doubt the sea goddess herself. She had shown them each the path to their destination for a reason: she believed in each and every one that stood before him and, because of that, so did he.
His attention was taken by the spotted stallion, Kenneth, as he spoke. If no one listened to a young stallion like himself, they should at least respect what came from Kenneth. It looked like he had been around the block a time or two and knew what he was talking about. Maybe he’d be able to strike some inspiration and determination into their group. Sven nodded his head along with the older stallion’s words, listening intently to what he had to say. It was a good idea for the ones in the group who had had the most vivid dreams to lead the way, and when Kenneth mentioned having the youngest of the group setting the pace for the rest of them, Sven cast the colt a friendly smile. Oh how excited he would be to be chosen to help lead the group on this grand adventure! “Agreed. The ones who remember the path in their dreams should lead the way alongside Seven.”
Just as he finished talking, Seven exclaimed excitedly and dashed into the brush. Sven could only chuckle and trot after him to catch up. “Come on, or we’ll never catch up to him!” The Entertainer joked, glancing around at his fellow travelers as he followed after Seven into the Wilds.
This was it. They were going to find the answers to the questions that they all had and learn why Cascade had put them up to this in the first place. They were going to find out exactly Cascade wanted from them... after a nice walk in the woods of course!
His head swiveled at the sound of someone trotting to catch up to him, and he turned to see a bay mare just as she slowed down to follow close behind Seven. Excitement was evident from the smile painted on her face, a refreshing thing to see with all of the edginess floating in the air. "Excited to get going?" Sven asked her, his olive green eyes darting between her and the small colt in front of him.

Kenneth Agriculturalist
The older stallion chuckled as the young unicorn bolted off, and his heart ached a little. He missed having kids around. His energy would definitely boost the morale for the anxious and uncertain group. The rest of the gathering seemed to be a bit moved by his words, and he felt relief that they could trust him. Most of them he had not met before, so it was a blessing. Perhaps it was simply because he was older, and maybe his profession and worn appearance gave them the comfort of experience. Pride welled up inside him, and he tried not to look too smug as the few others spoke words of support for his plan. And just like that, they were off. Kenneth held behind, waiting for everyone else to follow the pale coated colt, ensuring that no one was left behind. He did not think that this group would simply abandon one of its members, but if the expressions of uncertainty were anything to go off of, someone might choose to stay. He could not force them to go, but he would attempt his best to convince them that was where they should be.The appaloosa stallion sighed wistfully, craning his neck to look to the road ahead. It had been too long since he had been to the Wilds.Post 5 | 223 Words

Cygnet - Talori Brewer
Cygnet couldn't understand why the collection of horses didn't wish to further discuss the journey ahead. They didn't have proper supplies apart from the things other had brought. She rolled her eyes and shook her head. They must have spoken enough to ease everybody's but, her own mind.
When Laurens didn't return when she called her back she merely thought the pull of Cascades call was stronger than wanting to talk about their impending doom. Her mind flickered back to the horses who had remained quiet when asked about swimming or fighting and she was not looking forward to finding out who couldn't do both things.
She chewed her lip violently and snorted following after the child who was leading them, a child running off and leading them but she supposed Seven was as good a leader as any. She had a good memory of the dream so went charging off down the beach after Seven and towards the wilds.
Once she skidded to a near halt and showered sand everywhere she changed paces to a slower walk beside Seven. Moving into the bush, she took a moment to study seven she looked at the youngster and smiled "You are very bold for one so young, I'm pleased you're in our team" She nodded.
Cygnet fell silent and picked her way through the bush letting her memory guide her, picking her way through and lifting her legs over the larger roots protruding from the ground, she looked behind her to check everybody was sort of following. With Kenneth bringing up the rear she was sure nobody would be left behind that wanted to be with the group.
Words: 280 Post 5 Notes: Cygnet can be a bit of a mardy bum so don't take anything she thinks to heart! She'll cheer up once she gets going! Sorry for the long wait to post! Cygnet has also just gotten her blessing, Healing Regeneration and her herbalist talent, it might come in handy later!

Sinclair ❧
“Everything is fine, but I haven’t seen your brother since the attacks. I apologize.” The cloud colored mare shook her head softly, nothing was to be apologized for. Cethin could handle himself all too well. Kenneth raised his head, speaking of where they were going. She needn't have raised her voice, however, because others rose up to say what had been on her mind: The Wilds. Elma had told the mare that that was once her mother’s home. The mother which Sinclair had never known, but was nearly an exact replica of. Perhaps, in this calling by her goddess, she would make her mothers proud, Adeline and Simoné alike. The mare was shaken from her thoughts once again at Sven’s voice, accepting the call for prayer.
Sinclair blinked softly at Cygnet, with her small nod of appreciation. Everyone, while still strange to one another, seemed fairly well spoken and of kind-temperament. Sinclair watched as Seven turned his childish face up to her in a smile, one that the pale mare returned kindly, even as she bowed her head, cream mane falling forward and shielding her very delicate features. Out of the corner of her blue eye, she could see the slow approach of another mare. One that Sinclair acknowledged, but in the state of prayer, did not make an open attempt to greet. The first of all there. Cygnet appeared to have stepped up to the plate though, welcoming the mare without breaking the soft silence that had fallen over the horses as they began their prayer.
The prayer was quick, but sweet, and Sinclair smiled as the last word was said. “Yes, I am ready for our journey.” Then she startled just slightly at Seven’s outburst of activity and energy. Eager, was he. Though the mare was becoming increasingly worried as they got closer to the actual journey, she figured that Cascade would not recklessly endanger the little unicorn. And if she did, then one of them was to protect him. As fate would have it.
“I am a strong swimmer, if any others need help I can support another. That is about all I can do, physically at least, I'm a horrid fighter.” Sinclair smiled, thinking of her days on the beach and in the surf, keeping careful to not get caught in a riptide. Learning to overpower or swim out the current. “The Wilds are dangerous only when you panic, in the worst situations, there is always an escape.” Sinclair blinked. The wilds were like any other place, just perhaps a little more inhabited by dangerous creatures, though she was not a fighter, she knew enough to know that even in the jungle they had good chance to escape. They’d only need to watch out for the smallest one, and perhaps the ones that would freeze up in such a situation.
Sinclair listened to the small plan they offered. Being that she was about as useful at fighting as a key locked in a car, the mare hung towards the middle, welcoming to her any others that wished to stay in the throng of all. The group then set off, making way through the humid place. Already Sinclair’s coat was glimmering with sweat, she couldn’t help it, even with her normal adaptation to the heat of Aquore. The pale mare looked forward as they wound through the jungle, until the fresh scent of the bog Sven had spoken of, pricked her nostrils and she turned her head up sourly. /// 590 Words Post #3 a.n: literally got swept up with life *snap* like that. definitely going to be more caught up now, though, so don't worry. a lot of it is having all AP classes and trying to put together a portfolio for an art school and pah, you know, just not that much time; and I didn't want a half assed post out there, <3

Luna was quiet as the others gathered around and spoke more about the dreams their Goddess had sent, her own mind already swarmed with voices that didn't belong to Cascade's gentle whispers. She didn't register anything the others were saying, blue eyes stuck on the ground until someone mentioned the Wilds. Her head subtly jerked up, staring at the looming green unknown ahead of them. Her throat grew tight and she fought everything within her to stay quiet. Not only would it be embarrassing to just suddenly yelp, but it would also be disappointing to her Goddess if she spoke disdain about the journey.
Breathe.
Luna took a quiet deep breath, struggling to tear her gaze away from the canopy. Five years it had been and she still felt the ache in her heart. Earlier, she would have believed that he could have survived (albeit a tiny part of her still yearned for that to be true) but now she could only believe that he was truly gone. Her chest ached as she was once again reminded of just how alone she was in this world. Her father was missing, her mother was dead, and she barely had anyone to call her friend. The only one she had left in the world was her Goddess, and she relished in Cascade's presence.
The group shifted and her attention was brought back to the present. She was confused on what was going on but it seemed that they were about to make their way into the Wilds. Luna swallowed her nerves, lowering her head and staying in the middle of the group. It was about this time that her familiar woke up, letting out drowsy whistles from where he was settled in her cloak. She smiled, glancing down at the cockatiel and relaxing a bit. While abrasive to strangers, William was gentle to her and she appreciated that. She never understood any song he sang to her, but it was the thought that counts and she was always weak for sweet music. The mare turned her gaze away from him, focusing on trying not to be overwhelmed with anxiety. She focused on the one thing that could calm her the most; the gentle crashing of waves on the shore. Putting that sound on repeat in her mind helped at least a little bit.

Thalassa Talori Cleric
Thalassa smiled as the young colt gave his speech. His pure, unbridled belief and faith in Cascade was beautiful, and something the mare didn’t see in many equines. It was a quality to be treasured and allowed to grow. Knowing this, the cleric simply nodded and followed after Seven as he pranced along, boldly leading the party into some of Aquore’s most dangerous territory. Intent on keeping an eye on the young tenderfoot, Thalassa kept a brisk pace, staying close to Seven. Her ears flicked back as she listened to the others continue to discuss their plans as they moved along, heading deeper into the wilds. Many of them still seemed hesitant to rush into the wilds without a solid plan, and if she was being honest, she couldn’t blame them; but at the same time, she was worried their mild reluctance could dissuade the young colt and make him doubt his unhindered trust in the goddess. Looking back at the eclectic group of individuals gathered together on this quest, the spotted mare felt a sense of peace wash over her. Cascade was here, and she would indeed protect and lead them. Thalassa could only hope the others felt their goddess’s presence as clearly. As she listened to the rhythmic sound of the waves matched with the steady beat of hooves marching along, the cleric began quietly singing an old song of praise she’d learned as a child, praying it would help calm the spirits of the group as they carried on. Mighty Sea Mother Hear our plea As we venture forth To thee
Through the ever turning storm We turn our eyes to you She who makes the waters calm Will always bring us through She turned to Sven, flashing the entertainer and the bay mare by his side a smile as she continued to sing softly. There was something about the young stallion that made Thalassa believe Cascade had something special in mind when she let her water flow into his veins. Glancing at the small group of horses behind her, then back at Seven, the golden cleric couldn’t help but feel overwhelmed by the gravity of what was happening. Equines from all walks of life, all different backgrounds, being drawn together in a state of unity for whatever it was the all knowing Sea Mother Cascade had prepared ahead. Tears of joy began to well up in the mare’s eyes at the thought as they continued to press onward, deeper into the jungle.

Checkpoint 3// As your group continues deeper into the wilds you find yourself far off the beaten path. The brambles snag at you all as you make your way through twisting bog and insect filled mire, attempting to follow the path you saw so vividly in your dreams. Suddenly from off to your right comes the all too familiar call of an angry cassowary. You must have strayed too close to his territory. You know better than to hang around or try to fight off the dangerous bird, and where there is one, there are generally more. Run quickly if you value your life!

Cygnet - Talori Brewer
Cygnet listened to everybody around her, her pace was relaxed and she often raised her head to take a quick look around to make sure they had everybody. Cygnet had her nose to the ground looking for anything that could be beneficial for the journey, she already had a limited potion supply but if she could find more herbs to settle stomachs and keep wounds clean she would put her own mind at ease.
She listened to the clerk, Thalassa. She smiled as the mare joined herself and Seven upfront sort of half leading the group on the journey. She dropped her head again to look for useful things Thalassa began to sing, and she hummed along to the familiar song and eventually joined in with the singing, that settled her mind even more and she began to pick up useful herbs and bits and pieces.
Just as the song finished, Cygnet signed softly. Her ear flicked towards the right and the unmistakable sound of a Cassowary and she internally panicked, her face was still calm but her mind racing, they needed to move and sooner rather than later, she stopped and looked back at the group and took a breath
"That was a Cassowary, and it didn't sound to impressed. May I suggest we head away from i rather than continue in this direction and we can rejoin our path after we have passed it?"
Cygnet motioned towards the left, with her her but whipped her head towards the angry calls monitoring just how close it was getting or if the bird was satisfied with just shouting at them through the brush. Post 6 Words: 273

Kenneth Agriculturalist
The trip had been going pretty well so far, at least in the older stallion's mind. None had been severely injured, and they had not strayed apart or lost anyone. Of course, they had no idea where they were going, and the wilds seemed to only want to slow their journey with brambles and mud and insects. Animals of all sorts squawked and screeched as they passed them, the equines turning their heads nervously to see the source of the sounds. The cleric, Thalassa, took up a song, Kenneth smiling as he recognized it. He had heard the song for most of his life, and he knew the lyrics well. After a line or so, the appaloosa joined in reciting the words, his deep tone a bit of a contrast. It helped him relax a bit, and took the edge of anticipation off. He was glad that they were comfortable enough with each other not just to remain in silence during the trip. The blare of an alarmed Cassowary jolted him, his heart racing at the sudden noise. Cygnet was right, they needed to get going. The birds were not typically predatory, and would usually only chase you if you came upon their territory. The large birds could do quite a bit of damage, though, especially to a smaller equine."We need to try and steer away from its territory. We need to find a path away," he agreed, glancing around for any breaks in the foliage that they could turn to.Post 6 || 254 Words

Sven | Talori | Entertainer
His eyes slid from the bay mare's pelt beside him to the bouncy colt guiding the way. It was refreshing to see such happiness and good energy coming from someone after everything that the Talori herd had been through in the past few months. Everyone had been covered in such sadness and worry that every other feeling seemed to have been snuffed out. Even his own thoughts had been clouded with nightmares and worry for loved ones, but these dreams from Cascade seemed to have turned everything on its head (though it had brought about a whole new set of things to think about). He had spent hours sitting on the beach trying to hear what the sea goddess had been trying to tell him, and even Passoa, who had been staying at his home, had grown concerned over his sudden mood change. He had gone from happy-go-lucky to Debby-downer quite quickly. Even playing music hadn't had its usual effect on his state of mind.
The soft, gentle sound singing filled his ears, and he turned to see Thalassa quietly sing a song of praise to Cascade. Her voice, while quiet, was beautiful and peaceful, relaxing his mind from running rampant, and as she gave him and Laurens a smile, Sven couldn't help but carry on her blissful tune. His voice carried out over the group yet it remained unstrained from years and years of singing for crowds of horses.
Their peaceful songs to Cascade were interrupted by the loud screech of something ahead of them, and Sven tapped Seven with his nose to get the young colt to stop. "Cassowary..." Sven muttered, though it seemed other members of the group had already figured out what the earsplitting screech had come from. The Entertainer looked around at the boggy landscape around them, seeing the brambles that grew on either side of their path and reached out toward them. It wouldn't be fun to go around this beastly bird, but it sure beat getting mauled by it for being in its territory. "Let's try to head away from it. Rejoining the path will be a lot safer than being in that bird's way." Sven flicked his tail while his eyes scanned around them. "Let's try heading down this little path, but be careful. I'm sure that cassowary isn't along around here." The stallion said, pointing toward a small game-trail that lead further into the Wilds. It was just wide enough for them to head down it one by one without getting poked and prodded with thorns and jagged roots, but it would have to do.

Don't look them in the eye, child.
Ikran's voice whispered soft and sharp in her mind, caressing her soul and setting it on edge, too.
Avoiding the bird's gaze wouldn't be a problem for the little tawny mare; Væna wasn't in the mood to look anyone in the eye, let alone a gut-ripper.
Her head had jerked up at the noise, flung skyward with wide, searching eyes and a silent scream held captive in her lungs. She was so on-edge, and it wasn't like her. Her own anxiety, her own discomfort, discomforted her. Worried her.
Upset her.
Her father's spectral scolding quieted her fluttering heart, and brought her hooves stuttering back in line behind the others. (She'd bolted. It was to become a point of great shame, when the little restaurateur recalled the events of today in years future.)
Over the sounds of her own belabored breathing, Væna heard the leaders of their little band offering suggestions. Someone, captain us.
By herself, the only path she needed to follow towards the end of a holy quest was the trail beat out by her own pious heart. With these strangers, the impulse to question everything prevented the little mare from focusing on her purpose at all.
She was in the rear and spoke quietly anyways, so she didn't expect anyone to hear her, but it was difficult to hear their conversation and not think of the unmarred landscape into which they now tread -- for as Ikran had taught her, at some point, the Wilds become truly untamed and a lost horse might never find sign of civilization 'til the day he died. "And what happens when the paths end?"

Checkpoint 4// Out of the brambles a large angry Cassowary charges towards the group. Not wanting a fight, or to disturb the creature or any others in the area, your group has had to wander of the beaten path. After hours of walking deeper into the wilds, you notice that though nothing looks familiar, you have a strange sense of knowing where you are. Taking this as a sign that you are on the right trail, you push on a bit further, stumbling upon what appears to be ruins of some sort of grand structure that seems to predate even the God's War... Note: Inside the ruins are images painted on the walls, some of which can still be made out. These images depict the creation of the world, the years of peace and prosperity that followed, and accurate images of the God's War. While your characters may have some basic understanding of the God's War, this is a full overview with perspectives from all of Hireath's equine species, depicting how the War affected not only the Hippocampi, but the rest of the world as well. In the center of what appears to be some sort of throne room, there stands a massive gold and pearl statue of Cascade crying, with a large glowing orb safely nestled in the gentle curl of her tail fin.(( Please remember, these things are meant to be confusing and to challenge your characters. They shouldn't inherently know or understand any of what they're seeing and it should shake them, making them really think about their beliefs. ))

The trip had been long and excruciating, at least for someone who hadn't been trekking before. After an awkward group meeting and a narrow miss with an angry Cassowary, Luna was ready to go home. The Wilds were... unsettling, at best. She hated feeling so lost in a place where horrifying creatures ran wild. William was growing antsy as well, chattering in her ear the whole time after the Cassowary crashed in. She didn't even bother trying to keep him quiet after a while. The air was hot and humid, more so than it usually was in Aquore, and it felt heavy on Luna's shoulders. The density weighed her hair down as well, and she knew that it was most likely full of leaves and mud by now.
For hours she had kept her head down, focusing on the ferns that curled around her hooves as she stepped through them. Mud had splattered up onto her white coat and she curled her lip in distaste. Why had Cascade sent them out here? Luna struggled to keep her faith intact, but she had begun questioning her Goddess's intents.
The mare hadn't been paying much attention to exactly where the group was going, only staying in the middle of the group and following their movements. She paused as her chest suddenly ached, panic rising in her throat as she thought her sickness was rearing its ugly head. But... it wasn't pain. It was more of a tugging sensation, like something was trying to tell her to follow. Luna lifted her head, fixing her eyes to the front of the group. She pushed through the first few horses around her, murmuring apologies as she made her way to the front. She stayed behind Sven and Kenneth, eyeing the path ahead. The tugging in her chest grew intense; whatever they were going to find, they were going to find it soon. As the group pushed onward, Luna's eyes grew wide and her breath caught in her throat.
A grand structure of ruins stood before them, one that looked decades old. The tugging in her heart dwindled to a stop and Luna knew that this was where Cascade was sending them. Without paying attention to the rest of the group, Luna felt her hooves pulling her forward. Wide blue eyes looked over the images that the ruins held, her mouth agape as she struggled to convey just what exactly she was seeing. Pinning her ears back, the mare moved further into the ruins, careful not to trip over the cracks in the stone. Her attention was drawn to a large statue in the middle, recognizing it as the image of her beautiful Goddess. Luna stepped up in front of it, staring at the sorrowful expression painting on Cascade's face. She swallowed a lump of emotion in her throat that threatened to spill, her eyes already watering. It was all too much to take in, and Luna was unsure if she even wanted to understand it all.

Sven | Talori | Entertainer
Their trek was long and difficult. They fought their way through the thick brambles and vines of the jungle, following the urge that their goddess had instilled into them. After almost running into a territorial Cassowary, Sven was on edge. With every rattle of the bushes around them or small noise from the small animals that they disturbed with their hooves, he found his heart racing. The last thing he wanted was for anyone to get hurt, especially as they had just now recovered from the wounds and bruises they had received from the fight with the pegasus extremists.
It had been hours since they left the main path and entered the Wilds before Sven suddenly felt a tug at his heart as if Cascade were pulling at the very strings of it. His head lifted from its tired droop, and his eyes focused on the path ahead. Was it... a clearing? Sven followed closely behind Seven, making sure the colt didn't get too far ahead of anyone in case they came across anything potentially dangerous, but as the foliage grew more sparse, what they found was certainly not what he was expecting.
It was ruins, remnants of buildings from long ago that had long since been forgotten. The paint stallion walked around carefully, looking up at the walls that still remained standing among the vines that grew around them. There were paintings whose pictures could still be discerned, and with each painting that Sven looked at, the more weirded out he became. They were images of what seemed to be the creation of the world, their world, and as the group walked further into the ruins, Sven noticed other points in history that he had been told as a foal though these were all seemed slightly different than what he had been told over the years: the God's War being the most prevalent. His eyes widened as he studied the pictures closer. What was this place?
Sven felt his heart beat a little more rapidly in his chest. Where had Cascade sent them? Why had she sent them to this place? His mind buzzed with questions that didn't seem like they would be answered as he followed the group toward the strangest part about the ruins. A mighty statue of Cascade made of bright gold and pearls stood in the middle of the wreckage, but that wasn't the odd part. She was crying. Never before had he seen the sea goddess depicted this way, and he found himself perplexed by why the horses who had built this would have made such a grand statue this way. Sven slowly walked closer to it. Looking up at the statue's face, the Entertainer almost didn't notice the large, glowing orb sitting in the protection of her tail. His breath caught in his throat, and his knees wobbled slightly under his own weight. All of this was so overwhelming and confusing, and the more they discovered, the stranger it seemed to become. Sven looked around at each face that looked toward the statue and the orb, seeing the confusion and uncertainty on their faces.
"What is this place?"

Seven | Tenderfeet
Seven took his job seriously, leading the others with a sense of determination that he had never felt before. He marched boldly ahead, constantly encouraged by the sound of the adults' following hooves. He made comment after comment, "observing" everything that he could (" That's a big tree. WHOA did you see that SPIDER? Do you think we are there yet? How will we know when we are there? Do you think these leaves taste good?"), his voice filling the amicable, though nervous silence that drifted over the group. His commentary was only paused when Thalassa began to sing, and he listened happily to her song. He grinned wider and wider every time another horse joined in. His mother did not sing to him, so he wasn't as familiar with the song as most Talorians, but it would come to be one of his favorites due to this trip. The sense of peace and camaraderie that settled over him was unlike anything he had every felt as their voices pushed him onward. It wasn't until a screech unlike any he had ever heard broke through the lullaby that he stopped, back peddling quickly. His rump bumped into Sven's chest, just as the stallion touched him with his nose. He jumped at the contact, but smiled up in a worried, but trusting way as Sven and the others explained simply what the threat was. For the most part they seemed calm, which helped him to not bolt, and he gave up the leadership of the group for a moment as they skirted the bird's territory to sandwich himself between some of the older horses. After some time without any further appearances of the cassowary he felt safe to retake his position at the front. He pushed through the taller brush easily, though some of the ground brambles pulled at his legs and long tail. Seven hardly noticed though. Quickly a heaviness was overtaking him. It was like the feeling in his dream, but he knew he was awake. He didn't need any nudges of direction from the adults now - he knew just as well as they did the path that Cascade had lain before them. The ruins didn't surprise the colt. As a child his imagination had left him open to finding anything at the end of their journey. The colt would have hardly been surprised to find Cascade herself. Which, upon entering the ancient structure, he almost felt that he had. He wandered slowly behind Luna, his eyes roving over each painting. Many of them were unreadable after years of being exposed to the weather, but even those felt so bright. For the rest of his life, whenever he would think about the drawings, he would be able to recall them as if they stood in front of him. They would inspire him, and haunt him. And though he would understand them later, the colt knew very little of what they meant now. But that didn't stop him from pouring over them, trying to draw in everything they told him. But really the only ones that made sense were some of the ones that contained Cascade, and matched the stories still passed down through the herd. "Is that a kirin? Are these... the gods?" he asked, looking at one painting, whispering the questions to no one in particular. Finally he turned, facing the statue that seemed to illuminate the place. He gaped up into the face of Cascade, mouth agape. His small ribs heaved, and Seven took a sobbing breath. It was like seeing your parent cry, but ten times worse. Tears flowed silently down his own cheeks, and he approached the statue. Gently his muzzle touched the golden tail fin, wishing to stop the flow of tears from the goddess. At once the colt wished he had not come to these ruins, but also that he could lie down here and stay forever. The mix of emotions was confusing and scary, and he had no clue what the goddess was trying to tell him. Had he let her down? He looked at Sven. "Did we do something wrong? Is Cascade okay?" His eyes turned to Thalassa, then the others. Surely one of the adults would have an answer. (Post 5: 709 words)

SINCLAIR CASIMIR ❧ .•.......•.......•.......•.......•.......•.......•.......•. After the incident with the Cassowary, the walk was relatively without issue. Of course, the day bore down on them as hours passed, and quickly the out of shape mare huffed with exertion. Even so, it was Seven's comments that made the walk bearable, Thalassa's song that brought a smile to her face, the quiet of the jungle that put Sinclair at ease. Then it was like a string had been pulled about her heart, ever tight and leading. Still the mare faltered, seeing that the other's too seemed to have felt such a pull. She paused only momentarily before the rest of the group turned to pick their way through the jungle, feeling as if they'd finally been brought to some grip of Cascade's. The cremello thought to herself, that even if this was not the end of her journey, that she had felt a sense of rejuvenation at what she assumed to be the Goddess's intersession. The path here seemed familiar, mirroring what the mare could remember from her dream.
Each horse walked with wonder through the jungle until the ruins came into sight. Vines littered the ruins, curling over each, moss growing up the rubble. So aged, Sinclair thought fleetingly that this must have stood in the Wilds undiscovered for years on end. This proved true once they entered the structure. Paintings littered the walls, Sinclair felt tears brim at her eyes. This wasn't... It wasn't what she knew. Nor exactly what she had been taught. And what hit her most fiercely was the decimation of the Breim, a herd that she knew hardly nothing of, but recognized due to their god, carefully illustrated. Cascade's simple removal from most of the fighting dulled the cremello's heart, and Alya's pain and rage for Ignacio almost seeped into the diamond-eyed mare's heart. What scared Sinclair, was that the mare, seeing the account of the war could not see inferiority nor superiority between anyone. She could see on the paintings the peace before the fire nation attacked.
The golden statue of her god weeping sent the dumbstruck mare to prayer at her feet, the pale god-fearing equine curling her knees under herself as she collapsed at the golden ornament's feet. She ignored the orb as she instantly went to prayer, "My Lord, what have you brought us to?"

A. Laurens Lewis | Personal Assistant "Excited to get going?" Laurens was caught off guard by the stallion's words. She stuttered out a small yes just like she always did. It is so difficult to be bold and authoritative without Nagisa's wrath backing up your actions. Making appointments, canceling meetings, ordering things- they were easy because Nagisa was the one really behind it. Laurens was so very aware that her decisions were her's here and she threw her caution out the door. The mealy mare took to prayer again, hoping not to offend anyone with her standoffishness. She asked for forgiveness for being pessimistic about Seven's leadership. She also asked for something that she often asked for, courage. So very many words were said as they walked and Laurens faded into the background. The path became entangled in trees and swamp. Laurens neatly braided feathers had brambles and leaves woven in, too, and the equally neat mane was now falling. The stress of this journey was showing on her face. Laurens subtly made her way to the outside of the group. The small veiled mare was the closest to her but still separate. As the dusty mare looked to the group she noticed each horse was either focused on their thoughts or their path. Cascade knew what she was doing, surely, but the path was disappearing and a seed of worry planted itself in her stomach. They were following a child- though he did seem to know where he was going. Laurens wiped those thoughts from her mind. Eyes peered at her from the brush and pushed her closer to the veiled mare- but not too close, never too close. Over her shoulder an angry screech called. a cassowary was near and they had encroached on it's territory. They needed to get away. Laurens found Seven and stayed by his side. Some motherly aspect of herself was trying to protect him. Sven guided them to a path, small, but leading away. Laurens Stayed by the colt, never getting too close to him, though. She just wanted to be near in case something happened. They walked endlessly, it seemed, but the path waned out into open brush. A few stone growths could be seen, but they were buried under moss and vines and brush. Slowly, though, more became visible. Ruins became visible. Seven pulled away from Laurens, but she was too taken aback with the structures protruding from the ground. They were painted and carved and told stories. She could walk these halls for hours and still find something new to be amazed with. She took a moment to thank Cascade for sharing this with her. A glint caught her eye. A statue of the goddess herself stood. Laurens was not drawn to it though, she didn't even notice the goddess crying. Laurens was drawn to what she was holding. She was so drawn-possessed even. Without even knowing and ignoring the others, her snout touched the orb.

Thalassa Talori Cleric
Though the cassowary had startled the young Cleric, she kept herself rather composed as the group continued to press deeper into the wilds. She kept an eye on the young colt as he reclaimed his position at the front of the group, imagining how proud the little one must have been feeling leading such an important quest. Thalassa’s attention was quickly drawn to what lie ahead of them though, as the group approached what seemed to be some sort of a clearing. Eyes wide she took in what looked to be a grand palace at one point. Overgrown with moss and vines, the building was magnificent, even in its dilapidated state. The cleric gingerly stepped through the ruins, entering what was once a grand throne room. Paintings depicting the Talori’s rich history covered the walls...except...it was all wrong. Nothing seemed to be what she had been taught from the time she was a young filly nestled against her mother’s side. It was unsettling at best, and highly disturbing at it’s worst. Looking around, mouth agape, Thalassa began sobbing, silently praying to her goddess. Her thoughts were interrupted by the innocent questions of the confused colt who stood by her side. "Is that a kirin? Are these... the gods?" He asked, his voice filled with awe. Thalassa nodded slightly as she answered. “I...I do believe they are, young one.” She pressed her muzzle to his neck reassuringly before he continued to look around, his quiet voice breaking the silence once more. "Did we do something wrong? Is Cascade okay?" Seven’s question caught the mare off guard, and she turned towards the colt to answer. “I don’t know, child… what makes you ask that?” She asked, turning her gaze towards what Seven was looking at. It was at that moment she noticed the beautiful golden depiction of the Wave Mother in the center of the room. Her glorious figure overshadowing everything around her. The cleric wept as she neared the statue, taking note of the goddess’s tears. Was she shedding tears for the same reason, or was there something the cleric was missing amidst her conflicted feelings. Attempting to pull the confused young colt nearer to her side, she prayed, asking the sea goddess for wisdom and understanding as tears continued to roll down her face. Why had Cascade brought them all here? What even was this place? All Thalassa knew for sure was that they were all standing on sacred ground, and that alone deserved respect. Because of that understanding, she called out in horror as the young servant, Laurens, reached out to touch the orb nestled safely within the statue’s embrace. “NO!” She screamed in utter horror, taking a step towards the ignorant young mare, but she was too late. Laurens’s nose made contact with the holy object. The sheer power from the orb forced the small mare back, throwing her against the wall as the orb slowly rose from it’s resting place, stopping just a few inches above the statue’s head. The room and sky grew dark, like the inky blackness of night, with the orb illuminating only the statue and the small group that stood around it. Thalassa shook slightly, in awe of what she and the others were seeing. She quickly returned to Seven’s side, wanting desperately to reassure the young colt as the impossible played out before them. Though she didn’t understand all that was happening, she prayed that this is what Cascade had brought them here for.

Cascade Sea Goddess
The statue’s eyes opened, blazing with the same magical light and energy of the orb. “My children,” A powerful yet kind and almost familiar feminine voice rang out as the massive golden figure began to speak. “I have brought you to this place, as it will become a haven in your time of need. Keep it’s memory in your heart, as it will be a place of refuge and safety in a time where there is none. I know you have questions, my children, and they will all be answered in time. For now, keep heart dear ones and know that I am always with you.” The voice grew quiet as the statue’s tears rolled off it’s face while golden strands from the idol’s glorious mane intertwined with them as they hovered effortlessly in mid air. “Take these as a reminder of my promise to you, my precious ones. Whenever you feel yourself doubting, cling to the symbol of my love that I leave with you.” As the image of Cascade finished speaking, each of the teardrop pendants gently looped themselves around a member of the group, not leaving a single neck unadorned by the sea goddess’s promise. The statue closed it’s eyes once more, as the rest of the world came into view once more. The orb that had effortlessly hung in the air just moments before came crashing to the ground, the magical glow it had previously produced all but gone. Wrapping Up!Hey guys, this is just a heads up to let you know our plot is nearing it's end You'll each get to post at least once more, maybe twice if time permits it.

Cygnet - Talori Brewer
Cygnet did not mind the trekking, after fleeing from the cassowary she put her head down and just followed the flow of the group, her mane was dragging on the floor but her pace still strong she was determined to get wherever cascade was leading the small group.
Cygnet observed the plants around then noting some she had not seen before and taking particular interest in varying plants that were pretty or could be useful in the future for other expeditions.
The group seemed a little low on spirits and Cygnet guessed that many weren't used to this level of walking for hours on end. She noticed the pah changing and evolving to a wider mouth and she raised her head, her ears pricked forward. Before the group was ruins large and with a few intact walls, and archways to proceed into the half fallen building.
Cygnet followed the group into the building and looked at one of the walls with a mass of drawings depicting what seemed like some sort of war, but the seemingly untold version of events. "Kirin" she snorted, looking up and down the wall.
Cygnet had nearly missed the statue in the center of the room and she looked cautiously almost as if the statue might jump alive at any minute, her eyes lingered over the pearl and then she saw it - Laurens walking forward. Just at the moment Thalassa shouted no, Cygnet stepped forward and was bellowing for the mare to stop but Laurens nose had touched the orb and Cygnet was pushed back, her eyes closed against the blast.
Once Cygnet had righted herself she glared at Laurens "Are you totally daft? Let's just touch this holy object and expect no repercussions?" Cygnets nostrils flared and she was just about to add but the statues eyes opened as following that Cygnets jaw nearly hit the floor, she listened to the statue lifting her neck to accept the teardrop pendant then standing and watching as the statue crumbled.
"What just happened, are we dreaming?" Cygnet shook her head and looked around totally in awe of what had just happened, had Cascade really talked to them? or was this a dream just like all the rest. Cygnet knew she would remember this place and do what Cascade had asked her. The once agnostic mare now had a small flicker of religious belief. Cygnet fell totally silent and mute, closing her eyes briefly to take in what had just happened.

Sven | Talori | Entertainer
As the group stood before the giant, golden statue, Sven caught the sounds of quiet crying and soft whispers of wonder under others' breaths. He wasn't one for crying or showing so much emotion around strangers, but to be honest, he was beginning to feel the same way. All of this was so confusing and strange. These paintings on the walls showed things that he had never seen before... and species of horses he didn't even think existed: kirins.
His ear twitched at the sound of the young unicorn, Seven, and Sven gazed down at his tear-stained face. "No, Seven, I don't think we did anything wrong. She brought us here for a reason... we just have to find out what that reason is." He tried reassuring Seven, though with the wonder and confusion in his voice, Sven wasn't quite sure how comforting his words were. "Who do you think built this place? It must have been during some kind of peace between the species of Hireath. Otherwise only hippocampuses would be on these paintings, right?" It seemed that all of his thinking only led to more questions, and all Sven could find himself doing was looking around him repeatedly. His gaze swirled around the room, trying to wrap all of this around his mind.
All of a sudden everything seemed to erupt. Sven's head snapped in Thalassa's direction as the mare shouted at Laurens. Before Sven could even realize what was going on, the little mare was thrown into the wall behind her by the power from the orb's touch. The stallion blinked for a moment before darting over to Laurens's side. His ears flattening at the contempt in Cygnet's voice. "Are you -" was all Sven was able to ask Laurens before the lighting in the room dimmed considerably. His brows knotted in confusion as he looked up to see the eyes of the statue open, greeting them with the same bright light that came from the orb that now floated above the statue's head.
The strong, kind voice from his dreams spoke to them, and Sven found himself awestruck. Was this really happening? He hung on her every word, his eyes focusing on the glowing orbs that served as her own. He had always had a strong faith in Cascade and the other gods' existence, but this only confirmed it even more.
Just as soon as Cascade's presence had arrived, the statue's eyes closed and the orb fell from the sky with a loud thud as it fell back into place in the curl of her tail. The only thing that remained of what had just happened were the golden teardrop necklaces that rested on everyone's neck. 'What just happened, are we dreaming?' Sven heard Cygnet say, and as he gently picked up the teardrop necklace with his telekinesis and held it up for him to see more closely, he could only chuckle. "We're not dreaming, Cygnet. We were just visited by Cascade, and she gave us the reason why she brought us here." Sven's stomach twisted with worry as he wondered what was going to happen that they would all have to return to this place. Would there be more fighting between the Talorians and the extremists? A more important question swirled around in his mind: would they be able to bring their friends and family here with them if/when the time came to it? Could they even tell anyone about what happened? The Entertainer sighed quietly, dropping the necklace carefully around his neck where it sat beneath his beaded necklace. He'd deal with that when the situation arose. Right now, they all had some serious thinking to do.

Luna jumped as she heard a shrill cry and then Laurens' body was slammed against the wall. Her heart raced in fear, only getting worse as the orb reacted. It rose into the air and the room grew dark...
Time seemed frozen as the statue "awoke" and began speaking. Luna could only stand and gape at the likeness of her Goddess as She spoke. Even though Cascade was directing her words towards the group as a whole, Luna felt that She was speaking directly to Her loyal servant alone. Her breath was absent as the Wave Mother's powerful yet soothing voice filled her ears, her lungs practically useless in the presence of Her Holiness. Tears fell from the mare's eyes as a strand of Cascade's mane wound around her neck, feeling light but heavy with burden at the same time.
As the sound of Cascade's voice faded away, Luna remembered to breathe. She gasped, stepping forward and looking up at the statue's face. That couldn't be it... Luna searched the blank eyes, yearning to hear her Goddess's voice again. With a sigh, she glanced down at the pendent hanging from her neck, frowning at the thought of the responsibility it would bring. She turned and looked at the rest of the group, uncertainty on her face as she watched them.
The Emperor and The Divine would have to know about this. Immediately.

Thalassa Talori Cleric
Thalassa's stood in awe as the brilliant golden statue came to life.
Wave Mother... The words stuck in her throat and tears streamed down her face as the statue began to speak, it's voice the same as the one the cleric had been hearing in her dreams for weeks. She stared, unblinking as the sea goddess continued, trying to make sense of everything that was unfolding before her and the emotions that currently overwhelmed her. She watched as the statue's tears rolled off it's face, only to hang in the air as strands of hair wove through them. The moment became even more surreal for the young mare as one of the golden tear drop necklaces was delicately looped around her neck. As the pendant came to rest against the mare's neck, she felt an overwhelming sense of warmth and peace. Thalassa smiled as the sea goddess's presence washed over her, looking up just in time to see the world come back into view as the globe's light faded and Cascade's spirit left the statue. She quickly took a step back, ushering Seven out of the way as the orb came crashing to the ground, cracking slightly on impact. Staring at it for a moment, she felt herself being drawn to pick it up, which she did carefully. Something about it still felt odd, and the fracture concerned her. Maybe it was just a catalyst for the Goddess...or maybe it was something more. Either way, Thalassa wasn't going to leave it to chance. "This belongs in the Temple..." She muttered softly, wrapping it in some of the extra bandages she'd brought along before tucking it in her bag. "...Maybe the Divine will know more." Her voice trailed off as the voices of her companions interrupted her thoughts. Swiveling her ears around, Thalassa listened as the group began questioning what they had just experience. The cleric also had questions, in fact, she had more now than she had started the day with, but she kept herself composed. The last thing the cleric wanted to do was worry any of her companions further. She would talk to the Divine about her concerns once she returned home to the Temple.
