A D E L A I D E an Eminent of House Julius 'Though I will wait forever more, my love will never die...' ......
A boom woke Adelaide with a start. Her eyes shot wide as she realised the amber glow in her room did not come from her fireplace, but from behind her curtains. Springing to her hooves, she dashed to them, throwing back the heavy fabric to reveal the chaos erupting outside. Flames licked the skyline and smoke was tumbling out into the air like low hanging clouds. It was coming from the Artisan District.
"Addie," came a soft voice behind her, the unicorn's head snapping to see who it was, "what's happening?" Their little sister, Oly, had wandered blinking into her room.
"Nothing, pet. It's alright."
"What's all the noise? And the lights?" The youngster mewled, sleepily crossing the room. Adelaide hastily drew the curtains, and knelt before her sister.
"I promise. Everything's alright, sweet pea." She kissed her sister's forehead, her teke lacing through the filly's mane. "Come on. Back to bed. Nice and quiet now." She was fortunate that most of the household slept on the other side of the building, and so she hoped they would not hear what was going on.
Out in the hallway, several slaves were standing at the window, all looking to her as she stepped out. "One of you take Emin Olympia back to bed." She said curtly, and two young slaves escorted the little noble away.
"Miss?" Another asked, seeing Adelaide frozen in the glow of the distant flames.
"I'm heading out. I will be back in a few hours. Feel free to send someone along to guard me, but be sure the house is defended. Alert Emin Adonis, too." Her eyes were narrowed in the glare, but she hurried down the ornate stairs, anxious to be out and away before Madya or Imperia came cawing.
"Emin Adonis has not come home, miss." One of them informed her. Last night's conversation rushed into her mind. Adonis had gone out to a meeting. He hadn't told her quite where but...but. What if-? She couldn't let the possibilities overwhelm her.
"Very well." She bit back the shake in her voice, "Wake Alixandria. She'll look after everyone here."
The streets were immediately alive with noise and smell. The crisp air was replaced with the scent of burning, and the hot flush of ash filled her nose. Adelaide made her way through the city, following were some ventured, and others fled. She could tell she had reached the spot when she saw the plethora of Chevaliers flooding the area. They moved among the debris with muted efficiency, working to douse the blaze that seemed to have summoned so many from their homes. The charred sign over the door read..."-ldhead." Recognition tickled the back of her mind, but for the moment she took in everyone who had gathered. A few familiar faces eased her mind, but she was anxious at not seeing her brother. Black clouds of smoke parted in places to reveal a truly awful sight, something Adelaide could hardly believe they had missed. The carcass of King Isador's wyvern, Sola. Dead. Dead and surrounded by the crackling remanence of a seemingly inconsequential building. What had happened here?
Voices rose around them, and a few curious bodies were already moving towards the ruined building. "Hey," She started, having to raise her voice above the roar of the fire, "everyone stand back, keep clear of the flames." She stood firmly, highlighted in the afterglow of whatever battle had taken place, "Let's all gather here, is anyone hurt?"

E U O N I A"Renunciation, total and sweet."
Images of Jessiah’s lifeless body against her chest as she held them in her wings still flashed before Euonia’s eyes as she wandered towards what remains of the Goldhead Pub. The kiss that tasted iron they had shared before Jessiah left into the night, to do what she would never be brave enough to. Golden drops streamed down her face in burning tears – the same golden blood tainted her feathers and weary, dirt covered hooves.
She felt all holiness about her had been crushed into the ground.
She had miserably limped all the way back where it all started, to check on the remains. She did not know what else to do. She felt heavy once again – Reality Manipulation had faded around her as Aleksei and the rest of the group had vanished. Her thoughts went out to them, as she painfully recalled how helpless she had felt before the great beast, how incapable she remained of harming anyone. Guilt sent her head spinning as her heart ached.
May Ignacio keep them. May He give her the strength to carry on through the night.
She wished to return to Azar as soon as she was done inspecting. There was nothing to salvage – no way to get inside – and as she was about to take her leave, she noticed a group of equines gathering near, whispering as they watched the Goldhead burn away. Of course, she should have expected it. For the first time in many years, she felt oppressed by the prospect of tending to strangers. She knew she would be interrogated the second they would recognize her, and she could barely form any word to explain any of this in the state of shock she was in.
And yet, she had a duty to these people. Only her could tell them the truth while the others had left to accomplish their grim duty. But should she? Would it only make the panic worse? How she wished for Moira to be by her side. She would know what to do. She could only hope that she was safe and that Angélique was by her side. But for now, she decided she would keep quiet, and watch.
She was thankful for Jessiah having pulled her hood over her head. She would not have thought about it as she walked away from Sola, mind numb with fear. Her cloak was nothing but burnt rags now, but it sufficed to conceal her face. She retreated in the shadows, waiting as the crowd grew bigger by the minute. Her decision fell apart the minute she saw young Adelaide. Part of her was thankful for the apparition of this familiar face, burning bright as she remained calm before the flames. Her heart raced as she thought of Adonis – brave boy. May he keep them all safe and return to her soon. The poor filly must have had no idea of her brother’s whereabouts.
She slowly walked towards the filly, seamlessly blending with the crowd.
“Adelaide.” She whispered, eyes pleading for the young girl not to speak out her name. “Are you alright? It’s not safe out here, Adonis wouldn’t want you out in the streets.” She spoke softly, barely managing to give the filly a tired smile. “ …He lives, and is unharmed.” She adds, before the young one could ask. She glanced towards the crowd, as she noticed a unicorn approaching them. “I need a minute to… gather my thoughts. Will you check on the crowd until my return? Get all the help you can.”
[OOC: Euonia’s identity is currently concealed, and she is keeping a low profile. While you may interact with her, you may not have your character recognize her. Addressing Adelaide, notices Indrina approaching.]

INDRINA From ashes to glory [picture upcoming] Post 1 | WC: 508 IW: Adelaide (Open!)
It had been an unremarkable evening for her- she had been at Passion’s Flame, a Xoian business, counting shards and managing the books. She had finished last month’s totals when a loud crash surprised her. She knew it had been storming, of course- who could miss it- but this crash was decidedly unlike the resounding booms of thunder that she had heard before.
No- this was different, and the storm had calmed.
Rising from her post, she walked over to the window, and gasped. The sky was awash in greens and purples, and there was a resounding screech. It was then that she saw it- a pub was ablaze, and Sola flapped over it before disappearing into the flames, screeching an awful cry.
Part of her was relieved- she had heard from Eliina what Isador had done, killing the Soleils in cold blood. It was not unlike what had happened to her own family, and she sympathized with the House.
So to see Sola grounded- perhaps killed- was an all-too-welcome surprise.
“Stay here,” she called out to the manager, raising her bridled head high. “I will return. Keep the patrons inside until I return, unless they can return home safely. No one dies on my watch.”
With that, she turned and left, trotting quickly to the pub- the Goldhead, apparently, where everything had begun. Stepping through the crowd, head held high, she moved through until she was at the front of the crowd, and saw the vast destruction.
The Goldhead was nearing collapse, the entire structure ablaze. She couldn’t tell if there were any bodies inside- by the gods, she hoped not. Walking around the flaming structure, she saw it- the False King’s wyvern, dead on the ground, surrounded by golden blood and broken weapons and pieces of debris.
Raising her head and turning away from the mess, she faced the crowd, which had gotten all too close to the building. “Excuse me,” she said, her head held high, “perhaps we should back away from this structure. It is quite likely to collapse, and I do not want anyone hit by flying debris at the moment.”
Her eyes caught on Adelaide, another Eminent, although from a lesser House which she very much disliked for their role in the Inquisition. However, this was not the time for petty squabbles. She could get along- besides, an Ancient House held far more status than a piddling Lesser House.
“Greetings, Emin Adelaide,” she said, moving towards the fellow unicorn, making sure the metal phoenix- the symbol of House Xoias, and the same one Eliina had covered Phoenix with when going to this same pub- was centered on her face, held in place by shining leather and sparkling metal details to form a darkly elegant bridle. “Would you like some assistance?”
Her gaze passed over the crowd, filled with every type of Aodhian- commoner, Armiger, gentry, Eminent, slave. Bodies were everywhere, some tense with fear, others sparking with curiosity or rage.
It seemed that the now-destroyed Goldhead was the entertainment for the night.

POST 1 | WC: 290
IW: Indrina (Open!) | Mentions: Phoenix
Once she saw Phoenix's red wings flapping about, battling Sola, she had run immediately to the Goldhead, her gut roiling with fear. Her hooves slammed into the ground, rushing in a very un-Envoy-like way. She was supposed to glide, be graceful- but that wouldn't happen now.
By the time she arrived at the Goldhead, a crowd had gathered, and she moved through, weaving in between the many bodies, moving to get closer to the building. Who should be there, though, than Indrina, the Heir to her House. She had always thought the girl to be a spoiled brat, but it seemed that she had grown in her time managing businesses for the House, and she had certainly agreed with Eliina that Isador should be stopped.
Perhaps the spark could become a true flame.
Taking a moment to set her clothing in order, centering the small metal phoenix on her forehead and rubbing it for luck, she stepped forward, the picture of grace and beauty once more.
No one here yet knew of the debacle at Azar- at least, not yet. She could still redeem herself tonight.
"Indrina," she called, rising to her full height and arriving next to her cousin. "Do you know for sure what happened here?"
She lowered her voice, flicking her ears this way and that to ensure no one could hear her- not hard over the roaring of the flames. "Phoenix received an invite to be here for a meeting tonight. Have you seen her? Is she safe?"
She raised her head again, peering around, looking for a pair of bright red wings- and then she spotted it. Her, really.
Sola- Isador's wyvern- dead on the ground.
By the gods, she thought, they actually did it.

Caron "Now the Fire and Wind guide me to Freedom."
Post 1 | WC 252 When Oberyn left Azar, at first Caron went to follow the advisor, wishing to assist.
But alas, with, it seems, all of Valor's pouring out into the streets, they lost track of the advisor.
They frowned, looking back, and made a decision, heading to the ruins of the Goldhead.
Perhaps they could be of use there, at the very least.
They got there, in time to hear Eliina asking after Phoenix. Caron sighed, stepping forward, to where others were discussing, Chiya alert on their back. "...I can likely try to find anyone who's in the rubble, I… would just want someone out here to watch Chiya while I would do so." They offered. The finery they wore had already been damaged by Sola's fire - They really didn't care if it got further damaged by the fire claiming the building - From which there were no screams, thankfully.
They were a bit nervous, being among so many who could recognize them, without Moira there currently - Chiya brought them out of their thoughts with a chirp. They couldn't afford to dwell on the what-if of being called out at the moment. Aside from that… they realized it didn't particular matter if they were recognized. They had no reason to be hidden anymore, as unfortunate it may be.
After all, the king's wyvern was dead on the ground, in the wreckage of a burning building in front of them!
So their help, they offered to try and see if there was anyone inside the burning building.
OOC: Caron has NOT gone into the building yet - they have only OFFERED to try and search the wreckage.

She was out of breath. The run from Azar had been hard and she had bolted as soon as she had finished healing the horses that had been hurt by Sola. The wyvern was dead. Asalah had witnessed that much from the fight at a distance, but she worried over who had been hurt or what had happened in the artisan district. Her stomach was churning, but as she rounded the corner were the flames were obviously at their highest, she felt a mild sense of relief wash over her.
She wasn’t the only one from the Azar sanctum who had come this way. She could see the kirin form of Caron standing close to the rubble of the building, and Shay along with his party had joined her in the mad dash towards the tavern. For a moment, she wondered if any of the original horses that had been here had managed to escape the damages, but in the grand scheme, she was more worried about the overall body count. She felt her stomach curdle as she thought about what had happened.
Dread settled back in. The Goldhead was in ruin and the body of the great wyvern lay not too far from the scene. Panic clutched at the mare’s throat for a moment, but as the streets continued to fill with horses. Slowly, she picked her way forward through the crowd, her mind distantly thinking of the promise she had made to Delta to get her back to the dark district. She hoped that the mare had decided to follow her, a second set of strong shields would be wise, even if the fight was over.
…is anyone hurt?
The question pulled Asalah further forward. “I can help if anybody is. I’m a trained and practiced doctor.” She called before turning towards Caron, focusing specifically on them as they tried to pick through the rubble and go inside. “Caron. I can assure you that if there is anybody inside, the smoke has already taken them.” It was a harsh reality that she didn’t really want to think so heavily on, but as she glanced at the Goldhead, she knew even her intangibility wouldn’t be wise to use here.
She wasn’t going to be going to bed any time soon.

“Aegon, the young mistress Adelaide has left the complex.”
The servile slave shot up from his position at once, the sounds from earlier in the night coming back to him. He cursed himself for not being more attentive, the boom from outside had caught his attention, so much so that he had somehow managed to miss the commotion inside the compound itself, and yet he had found nothing near the keep. He shifted, turning about.
“Do you know where she was going?” He asked, pulling on a cloak as he adjusted the bridle that sat upon his face. He didn’t have his swords, something he would curse himself for later, he was sure. The slave that had come to him shook their head, but by looking at the night sky, Aegon was more than certain he knew where she was heading. The light of fires from the Artisan district were easy to see from here, and while he had initially dismissed them, he could feel the apprehension coming off of the slave in waves.
This was a new situation, but it was obvious they were in over their head. ”Keep the house safe.” He instructed, remembering Adonis had gone out earlier in the evening to some sort of meet up. He hadn’t given Aegon any real information, but had mentioned it had been an expected late night. Worry needled his gut, but he didn’t mention his concerns to the horse beside him, though his actions matched much of the young ladies as he stood and calculated the options. If something were to happen, he still had orders to follow, and that was what moved in forward past his fears. “If Adonis returns home, let him know that I am following his orders. Keep the others safe, protect them with your life if you have to.” He didn’t know it, but the instructions were close to what Adelaide had already told them. If the other slave responded, Aegon didn’t hear it, as he was off in an instant, hooves clacking against the stone streets towards the orange blaze that crackled from the skies above in the artisan district.
The streets were busier than Aegon wanted them to be. As a slave, he was lucky enough that many didn’t take a second look or assume that he was trying to take advantage of the chaos, but as he rounded a corner near the Goldhead, the stallion had to take a moment’s pause.
The air smelled like smoke and ash as heat radiated off of the building, chevaliers were rushing about, and for a moment he lost himself in the moment, the body of Sola filling his vision for the briefest of moments before he pushed forward.
Hey, everyone stand back, keep clear of the flames. Let’s all gather here, is anyone hurt?
“My Lady.” He breathed, thank Ignacio above. He only managed to catch the tail end of the stranger’s words to her as he trotted forward, eyes carefully assessing the situation. “My Lady.” He said it again, louder, his eyes upon the group nearby. “You should’ve waited for me.” He sounded hurt, but only in the joking way. He knew how she was, and by no means had expected her to do anything differently. Yet, he could feel the worm of worry still burrowing into his gut.

Tate|Aodh|Smuggler
Tate rushed after Shay's friend, Asalah, as she rushed over to what remained of the building that the King's late wyvern had been destroying, much to Tate's dismay. Although he felt like he shouldn't be too surprised by any of the current happenings. The destroyed building was the very same pub that they had once coincidently gathered in to discuss the unfit rule of the current crown, it made sense that Sola targeted it, especially if the king had informants about that meeting. Which, now that Tate put more thought into it, was absolutely the case from the beginning, though that was embers in a dead fireplace at this point. The entire fight Tate had watched from the distance of the sanctum, hoping that those fighting the golden wyvern had at least got out with their lives in tact.
Now the unicorn's priority was keeping up with his allies though the busy streets that were now filling up with curious onlookers at the earlier noise. Thankfully for Tate's sanity, there was little in the way of dead bodies, save for the large dead wyvern that was laying by the remains of the pub. Tate nodded at Caron, ready to aid Asalah in holding back the kirin if he did decide to rush into unnecessary danger.
"If the fire, wyvern blood, or the entire building collapsing didn't get them first, then the smoke definitely did." Tate added onto the earlier words.

Phoenix Aodh - Servile Slave She was told to go home.Part of her was glad for the respite, her wings would do them all no more help on this night. And she desperately wanted that bath. But another part of her felt...sad. She wanted to continue to participate, to help, but she wouldn't go against her would-be King. She relinquished her bow and it's quiver, bowed to them as they all fled into the night, and caught a worried look from Runt as he followed Edenne and Tesana, a flickering green being zipping off after them."Be safe..." She had nearly choked, nearby smoke smothering her.She waited for some time in the shadows. She was too afraid to go home just yet. She had lose her cloak during the fight, and she would be recognized immediately. Slipping into the crowds was a little difficult, considering she was nearly covered completely in char. Quick swipes at her body with her teke only did so much, so she had to rely on the crowd not bringing attention to her. Especially since she was in the air for some time, able to be seen to so many others. She felt so alone. Betrayal lingered at every turn, and she had half a mind to go charging after Aleksei and the rest of the group. She felt so safe with them. A part of it. But now, she was shoved back into the role of ignorant slave, and she didn't like that feeling anymore. But this was the role Aleksei needed her to be in, and she would be remiss if she did not do whatever she could to ensure their victory, even if she weren't standing by their side.Through the crowd, Phoenix's flame colored eyes swept. She desperately searched for a familiar face, a familiar form. She thought she recognized a pegasus, but they were gone before she could get a good look. Ears folded back against her head, and she turned to leave. Go home, get that bath. Your Mistress will understand. She nodded to herself, as if that were good enough. But as she finished turning, she saw the very horse she desperately needed to see safe and sound. Her Mistress.Phoenix was glad she was small. The slight slave fought against the ache in her wings to keep them close, to somehow make them smaller as she folded them against her body. She slipped through the gathered horses, keeping her head down, though her eyes flicked up every so often to ensure she would make it to where her mistress stood with the others. She wished she hadn't lost her cloak...Slowly, she slid up next to Eliina, her ears still folded against her neck. Her entire focus was on the black unicorn. She prayed that Eliina wouldn't yell at her right then and there, but she needed her Mistress to know she was alright. She survived, just as the others had."Mistress." Her voice was small, but strong, quick. "I'm fine. We are all alive." She spoke quietly to ensure her Mistress and only those trusted enough around them could hear her. |

Cin'ciri|Aodh|Gentry
Cin'ciri had not started the night as a happy child. It started with Mama getting an invite to a party that he and Pel couldn't go to, then Cin got in trouble when he and Pel (mostly because he dragged his twin along but who's keeping track of those things) decided to play around the Casino's water clock that Aunty Rita had fixed, then he was woken up from his early bedtime (possibly due to grounding, possibly because running around in circles was tiring) by the loudest bang noise that the kirin child had ever heard. Glancing out his window, he saw the flashes of fire and dragon fighting, with Kingy Isado's wyvern flying around, right in the direction that Mama went to the party at. The kirin child gasped at the idea that stuck him. Obviously Mama had sent them to bed so that SHE could go to the wyvern party without them! The (misconstrued) thought made the child spring out of his bed and rush out of the house, probably concerning more than a few of the slaves that were keeping the house and casino clean, and into the streets following the crowd and the sounds of the fighting.
By the time that Cin had made it to the remains of the Goldhead pub, the fighting had stopped, the wyvern was obviously asleep, and Cin had pushed himself probably a little too hard, though he didn't want to show it. The child slowly stepped around and through the crowd trying to see why the building was on fire, when he caught sight of his mother, gathering around another group, which included another just like him, much to Cin'ciri's excitement.
"Mama!" The child yelled out excitedly, bounding over to his mother before glancing at the others nearby. "I woked up and heard that Kingy Isado's wyvern was playing in the sky and I wanted to see what it was doing and then I remembered you was here, so I came to say hi and to ask to play. Can we go see what in there?" Cin blurted out, barely waiting for any response before walking towards the burning building.

║⟪⟡ S K Ö L L ⟡⟫║ "Can I tell you that in my eyes not even God would be good enough to command you?"
The noise... He hadn't... Had it been since the God's War since he last heard such noises? Their, the kirin's wyverns had not fought with each other, but he remembered the sounds they had made in battle... For a brief moment, his mind flashed to Delta. She had not been in the Dark District, neither was he, but hearing those sounds brought back the pictures of the war, of the fighting, the bodies. Those didn't bother him. They never had. But thinking of Delta being one of those...
Stop it. She was a non-kirin, he had no... Reason to worry for her... Still, he managed to follow the crowds, working his jaw as best he could with the tight noseband, cringing at every touch on the winged appendages, and hoping they wouldn't knock his hidden kunai's out of place. He didn't need someone to spot a labor slave with weapons.
He would snap and bite at others, hiss at them to get out of his way and give him space, though speaking was more then difficult with the bridle, and the noseband was there to stop him from biting and lunging. He settled for following the crowds, until reaching the site of what appeared to be the fight that all of Aodh had to have heard, watching the flames flicker on the building...
And the lifeless body of the supposed 'King's' wyvern.
He narrowed his eyes, staring at the creature. How had they brought the beast down? Common equines, non-kirins, had managed to bring down a wyvern... Perhaps the only reason they succeeded was because they had some scaled individuals with them... He had seen more then one in his time in the city, and it stung and disgusted him every time he saw one, reminding him of what he'd lost, and how those undeserving had gained such splendid scales and antlers.
His ears twitched, listening to the crowd, and recognizing some voices. Caron. Had that not been one of the equines helping guide the escape attempt? The one he chose to back down from out of his own cowardice and fear... Then he recognized another voice, a tinier one. The child, or one of them. Was that the one that tried to charge the door and hit it head first? Skoll shuffled his way closer, not to interact, obviously, but to at least be able to overhear from those he was... Somewhat more familiar with-
The child truly must have knocked something loose when he hit the door, because he was walking towards the burning building.
Skoll quickly shoved his way past, going and moving in front of Cin'ciri, spreading his wings slightly to block the child's path better and shaking his head. Little brat... Perhaps he did have scales, but he was a child still, and the flames were likely not the most dangerous thing in the ruins of the building... He pushed the child slightly with one of his wings, trying to usher him back to where he came from with a small huff. If only he could take the bloody bridle off...

Shay|Aodh|Gentry
Shay had run after Asalah and Tate when they took off towards the goldhead. Sola had fallen out of sight, there was fire, what was going on? Were they winning, whoever was there fighting against the king? When the group arrived he skidded to a halt, blood pounding in his ears and his breathing deep and winded. The chaos that laid before them was so much that his eyes darted back and forth across the entirety of it. The Goldhead was in ruin, flames licking at the timbers and keeping the blaze alive even as chevaliers were working to put out the fire. Shay blinked, chevaliers? Were they the ones he-
Shay started, Eleanore's bridle! He'd completely forgotten to put it back on Eleanore before they left the sanctum. He hadn't even noticed he'd kept it in his teke the whole time, tightly clutched close underneath his wing. He made a mental note to ask Eleanore to figure out a way to incorporate saddlebags into his next fancy outfit. He pulled out the delicate bridle, miraculously somehow kept safe from damage and put it over Eleanore's face.
"Sorry, I'd much rather you not have to wear one with a bit, but there's chevaliers about." He whispered to her as he gently made sure it sat right in her mouth before tightening the buckles. Knowing Eleanore of course, she'd probably rather it be on. They'd work on that.
Shay looked past the top of Eleanor's head, only just now fully realizing Sola's body resting near the wreckage, torn and bloodied. Shay gasped audibly, almost transfixed by the site. She was dead, whoever it was that had been over here, they'd managed something Shay wasn't even sure was possible. That second wyvern was nowhere to be seen, nor could he tell if any from the fight had stayed behind or been caught. He wanted to go closer, but with the building burning and chevaliers about he was sure that wasn't in the cards at all. Shay surveyed the crowd before making his way over to where Asalah and Tate had gathered. He recognized Caron and Eliina from back in the sanctum, they must have run over when he and the others did. He dipped his head in greeting to the others, "The sun shines on you all." he said with a smile, even though the sun was decidedly not shining.
A flash of soot-covered red caught his eye as a familiar face slipped next to the envoy's side. The colt's ears perked up. He hadn't seen Phoenix around the villa in a long time, not since Eleanore had been given to him as a gift. Was Eliina her new master? She looked worn out, and why was she covered in so much soot? Was she involved with the fight that killed Sola? He frowned, sad to see her so run down. He opened his mouth to say hello when a very young, and very loud Cin'ciri bounded over and began talking at light speed. Shay looked around, if Cin'ciri was here, then surely his brother Pel wouldn't be too far behind, right? And in that half second he took his eyes away from the small kirin foal he'd already run off towards the burning building.
"I'll go get him." He blurted out before turning on his hoof and running after Asalah's son. He slowed his pace down as a pale pegasus slave stepped in front of his small cousin to stop him from going further. "Hold on there cousin, that's no place for foals to be playing." Without another moment to lose Shay grasped the foal around his middle and picked him up, pulling him back from the burning building despite the immediately very loud protests. He looked at the, admittedly quite intimidating looking pegasus and flashed a grateful smile. "Thank you, sorry about that."
It was admittedly quite the challenge to carry the squirming child back to where his mom was but he managed, setting the colt down and then immediately putting a wing around him to keep him from going anywhere else without him immediately knowing about it.

The stallion had planned on staying away from most of the action that night. With his cloak pulled soundly over him, Cass has spent most of his evening quietly assessing the best routes to get back to the Casino from any position in the city. Though, more importantly, he had been trying to see if there were other routes towards the underground pathway he had found out of the city than past the casino.
He had tried every single possible angle he could even possibly imagine, and while it wasn't exactly a surprise to him that there was only one direction in, he did feel mildly upset by it. He had nearly made his decision to head out, to return to hiding completely, when he heard the doors of the casino open and the light clip of hoovesteps canter off.
That noise was too soft to belong to a full grown adult. Turning to look towards the direction of the noise, Cass was not surprised to see Cin'ciri rushing off towards what he could only assume was the midst of the danger.
Cass had been carefully ignoring his curiosity, suppressing that wandering mind of his throughout most of the night as the head and the sound of roars had echoed about. He had not had any intentions of heading towards the scene of the crime, but with Cin making a run for it, he wasn't about to let the child run away unsupervised.
He cursed himself and took off, running towards the direction of the fires, only to find that Asalah was there as well when Cin'ciri came to a stop. He was more than relieved to see others he recognized in the mass group of horses, but being around so many left him feeling exposed.
No turning back now. He thought to himself. At least Cin was safe... for the most part.

Alaine had been in Ignis Sanctum for most of the actual fight that had happened at the Goldhead. She had been busy conversing with the statues, boredly watching her post, and generally just hadn't been having a very great time when King Isador's wyvern had fallen. The casualness of their duties was quickly forgotten as soon as the bells struck midnight, as it seemed the whole city heard the the crash and witnessed the fires that came from the artisan district.
The filly had not planned on doing anything later in the evening, as she had not anticipated the fanfare to pull her towards the Artisan district. Yet, as she quietly walked back from her duties, her squires outfit still adorned, she couldn't help but feel a little uneasy at the sight of the crowd.
What had happened? The Ignis sanctum had been practically empty except for the occasional attendant. Here, near the tavern that she could only vaguely guess the name - something involving a head, was it the old head? bold head? - a large body lay unmoving, and the smell of fire tinged the air.
Squinting, she continued, wondering if she could recognize anybody amongst the crowd. There certainly were a lot of other chevaliers here.

Crowley knew the sound of dragon roars when he heard them. He had been off studying late at night at one of the taverns a little further away from the Goldhead when the fight had started. Since joining this new Aodhian society, he had found it to be reasonable to go out for a drink and return to his office to settle down for the night, as many of his colleagues seemed to take part in similar pleasantries and he found it was much easier to document the people of this herd when out and about.
That idea had quickly subsided when he had heard the first roar. His thoughts of studying current Aodhian culture long left behind as he remembered the wyverns he had witnessed when he was a boy. Rushing through the streets, it was a matter of minutes before he found himself milling about through the crowd that had started to gather.
The dead wyvern stopped him in his tracks. He had seen wyverns die before, back during the gods war, but this was somehow different. It made his blood run cold. Wyverns were already hard to come by, seeing one dead felt like some kind of blasphemy.
He shook it off quickly though and turned his gaze towards the others. The same question was on his mind as the others that milled about. What had happened?

Eleanor had known when she had been taken in by Shay that he would be a hoof full. She had not known that she would be chasing him through the streets of Valore at midnight when there was a wyvern about because he had it in his head that he needed to do something about it.
She just wanted to go home and rest and not be around a smoldering broken down tavern in the artisan district. Nobles didn't associate with this kind of stuff! They weren't a part of big fights or crowding themselves into hectic streets-
The sound of one of the other lesser house nobles shut her thoughts up as she entered into the fray. Shay was already bustling about, and when he noticed the chevaliers, Eleanor did not miss the fact that he gently placed her bridle back onto her face to avoid issue. She quietly thanked him, the feel of the bit in her mouth giving her something to focus on and chew on in anger as she continued quietly tittering to herself.
These were not the kind of rumors she wanted to find herself a part of! She had wanted to enjoy a party! This wasn't how the night was supposed to have gone!

Before Caron could respond, Asalah heard the familiar voice of her son.
Why. Was. He. Here.
Her fury was quickly doused by the fact that he was about to go into that burning building without a second thought when she herself had just told an adult that it was a bad idea.
Tate's comment aside, which she had heard but chose to ignore, Asalah felt like she just wasn't going to win tonight. Between wanting to go to the dark district with Delta, the fight that she had witnessed, and now her son waking up and deciding on his own time that it was completely fine to leave the safety of the casino with NOBODY STOPPING HIM rightly pissed her off.
She was going to need to talk to Aramis or at the very least, Airita. This child was going to need to be put in a kiddy cage. Between the incident -
Skoll stopped him before she could even bother. So the intimidating pegasus that he and Pel had mentioned was in fact a real person. He fit the bill at least, and while she was thankful, she was pretty sure his careful shuffling wasn't going to be enough.
Shay, however, seemed to have that also under control. She closed her eyes. If she had fingers, she would've been pinching the bridge of her nose. Post 2 | 226 Words

Caron "Now the Fire and Wind guide me to Freedom."
Post 2 | WC 253 Caron backed away from the building as horse after horse told them there was no point - and they sighed, looking around to see who all was gathering, if they could recognize anyone - it was… few, admittedly. Mainly those who had been at the Goldhead. "I… you're right." They sighed, their ears flicking back. "...I just…" they sighed. "I… wish to be of some assistance." They stated, noticing the soot covered, red winged pegasus pressing against Eliina's side - That must have been the one they could see fighting Sola.
And then they saw Cin'Ciri come up, all excited, by well, the excitement. And when Cin'Ciri went to walk towards the building, Chiya let out a sharp trill, as Caron went to stop the child from approaching the building, but others got to that before them. They watched as Skoll physically blocked the foal’s way, and Shay picked him up, putting him down next to Asalah. And so, to distract the child, Caron lowered their head with a small smile in front on Cin’Ciri. "Boo. Hello Cin'Ciri. Do you remember me?" They asked, their attention on the child now. "I still have the dagger your brother gave me. Do you still have the feathers?" They chuckled, Chiya chirping as she started to preen.
They idly noticed as more people arrived - One of them Cass. Well, wasn't this starting to be a bit of a reunion from that little expedition, wasn't it? There were only three missing from those who had slipped into that underground passage.

║⟪⟡ S K Ö L L ⟡⟫║ "Can I tell you that in my eyes not even God would be good enough to command you?"
Skoll stared down at the small child, keeping his place until he heard a voice seemingly calling to the child, and he lifted his gaze to properly look at him. He tilted his head, a brow raised while watching the child get wrangled, folding his wings back into place with a small shiver. The thank you and apology was... Unexpected. Of course, he deserved it, for taking time to handle a child like that when it truly wasn't his place... But it was still unexpected because of what his 'new place in life' was...
He gave a small snort and a shrug, just a little gesture to try and keep his pride, before following a little behind to move farther away from the burning building, and then turning to face the wreckage again, watching the flames, bitterly reflecting on how the warmth of them used to bring him comfort and strength, and now would do nothing but sear his flesh...
His tattered ear twitched, hearing more arrivals, and he cast a small glance about, noting Cass as a new arrival as well. Strange to see so many he recognized from that adventure beneath the city... Some had changed, but others the same... He gave a small huff, trying to find a better position for the harsh bit in his mouth while listening and watching. Not like he could say anything to try and give a 'hello.' And why would he. They were... Non kirins... Fuck... He grit his teeth, ears flattening against his head. So was he, his own voice echoed in his head. Why would he judge them when he was one of them?

A D E L A I D E an Eminent of House Julius 'Though I will wait forever more, my love will never die...' ...... The cloaked figure's voice was immediately recognizable to them. Euonia. She met the Flamen's eyes, at first with confusion and then with resolve. She needed to keep the Flamen's presence a secret, for now. Her whole body sagged a little at the reassurance of Adonis' safety. "I am so glad." Her ears pinned back a little, "And I know he wouldn't like it but," the heat from the flames swept over them, "someone from House Julius needs to be here." She said all this under the bellow of the fire, sharing a moment for just the two of them. She touched her nose to Euonia's very briefly, "Stay near me. Please." She could tell she had been crying, but under the cloak she wasn't sure how much damage the Flamen had sustained. "I will look out for you." She let the Flamen fade into the crowd just as a fellow Eminent approached.
Eminent Idrina greeted her before garishly flashing the metal emblem on her bridle in Adelaide's face. "Emin Idrina." She replied curtly, squinting as the metal reflected the light of the fire. By now others had begun to centre around this little group, so she shook her head, gazing upon the Emin from beneath her thick lashes, "It seems it is not necessary at the moment," but she was still not foolish enough to believe that these gathering horses would overlook her youth, "but I would be grateful of it should the need arise."
A panting breath at her side made her jump, but she regained her composure with an irritated eyeroll. "Aegon," she groaned, glad that Idrina's attention seemed to be on someone else, "it is good of you to join me but wholly unnecessary." Though she spoke through gritted teeth, she sidled a little closer to her guard, glad of the presence of another ally.
By now, several figures had emerged to investigate the wreckage and offer help. She dipped her head to those who offered greeting, and smiled kindly at Asalah's offer of medical help. However, as someone worked their way over to the building, her tail lashed and a shout to get back died in her throat. Others were intervening, and the unicorn tutted fiercely. "Right," she said to those assembled, "I think we should leave the blaze and the building to the Chevaliers." She carefully met each horse's eye, "They are trying to douse the blaze, and no doubt we can be more help when the fire is under control. If they need it." Their voice seemed to carry, as a Chevalier working on the outskirt of the building nodded. That Chevalier was keeping a close perimeter around the building and had similarly been about to stop anyone coming closer. "For now," she continued, attempting to draw everyone together, "everyone should stick together. We cannot let this chaos frighten us. So, did anyone see what happened here?" Her focus especially fell on the fallen form of Sola, who had a growing pool of golden blood forming beneath her. What did this all mean?

INDRINA From ashes to glory [picture upcoming] Post 2 | WC: 521 IW: Adelaide, Eliina (Open!) Mentions: Phoenix Indrina nodded at her cousin, giving a soft, momentary smile. "Greetings, Envoy," she said, her voice oozing with respect. She might not like the mare all that much, but family was important to House Xoians, and she would respect the elder mare's position.
Her brow furrowed ever so slightly at the mention of Eliina's newest slave. "I haven't seen her," she said, taking a glance out towards the crowd. She started a bit at the next words from the unicorn's lips, however. Lowering her head, she whispered softly enough that no one around them could hear. "An invitation?" she asked, ears flicking backwards. "They asked a slave, but not a member of an Ancient House?"
It was practically revolting- to have a slave of an important House invited, but not a member of the House itself. If she ever found out who was in charge, perhaps she would have words with them.
No one overlooked House Xoias.
She turned then to Adelaide, giving her a look. "Sorry to correct, darling, but my name is Indrina, not Idrina," she said, accenting the "n" in her name. "I know it is, perhaps, an unusual name- blame my mother for that- but please say it correctly in the future." She followed the statement up with a smile, to let the other Emin know that no harm was meant- she was just very particular about her name.
She saw a bright red- or, perhaps formerly bright red- equine wander up to Eliina, who immediately set to mothering the young pegasus. So this was Phoenix- fascinating creature, she was. Most definitely beautiful- or she would be, had she not been covered in soot. One ear flicked back as she watched the two interact- it was almost sickening how much Eliina seemed to care for the slave.
By the gods, her cousin needed to get married and have children already. Give her something to mother other than an errant slave.
She turned back to Adelaide, only to see her discussing with a cloaked figure. There was something familiar about the equine- perhaps the way they stood or spoke. It almost looked like Flamen Euonia, but of course, she couldn't be sure. She filed the information away for later, to be thought upon when Aodh was not burning.
Turning back to the crowd, she raised her voice once more. "Perhaps we should back away from the building, to give the Chevaliers space to work? I doubt that we will be useful, unless there are those who are Cascade-blessed." She turned then, seeing the young child that had nearly run into the building. "Please, also, keep children back, even if they are kirins- kirin children may not burn, but they can still be crushed, and I do not wish to see that happen tonight."
They were remarkably close to the building- what if it collapsed? Turning to Adelaide, she spoke once more. "Perhaps we should move the crowd back- this pub does not seem to have long before it collapses, and the last thing we need are burns and injuries because we got too close to a burning building."

IW: Indrina, Phoenix (Open!) | Mentions: N/A
She felt a touch on her side, and turned, to see Phoenix standing there, covered in soot and ash and looking worse for wear, but alive. Joy leapt in her heart- she had only known the slave for a few weeks, but the pegasus was already a dear friend to her. With a gasp, she embraced the slave, not caring if she got covered in soot. Phoenix was alive, and mostly unharmed.
What more could she ask for?
Pulling away, her teke brushed over her slave's body, checking for injuries. "Oh, thank the gods you are alright!" she cried, pulling the slave in for another embrace. Lowering her voice, she whispered next to Phoenix's ear. "Who called the meeting? Was it Marcellus? Is she even alive?"
She was practically shaking with excitement at finding out what Phoenix had seen and heard, and then she forced herself to straighten, to portray grace and elegance. Still, she couldn't help but be proud of Phoenix, at what she had done.
"You fought bravely, Phoenix," she murmured, holding the slave close to her once more, using her teke to gently wipe ash and soot off of her face and neck. "I am very proud of you, and glad that you, and everyone else, are safe. Now," she said, giving the mare a broad smile, "tell me everything."
Her discussion with Phoenix was interrupted by Indrina's loud announcement, but she had to find herself agreeing with the spark. It did not look like the Goldhead had long for this world, and the crowd was far too close and cramped. If it collapsed, it would be devastating.
"Indeed," she murmured, pulling away from her cousin a tad, bringing Phoenix with her. "You killed a wyvern," she said softly to her companion. "The last thing we need is for you and I to be crushed by a burning building."

S E R E Y AOf monsters and flowers
Her mother coming for her when she needed her most was not something Sereya expected anymore. And yet, Rosalba had come for her. Held her. She had not shared such tenderness with her mother since longer than she could remember – besides her recent, agonizing transformation.
She felt lighter than she ever had, every burden relieved from her shoulders as she saw Rosalba alive. She would deal with the consequences later. All that remained was the strange euphoria that made her legs tremble, and her head turn as she trotted besides her mother, childlike eyes watching the mare in awe, candidly smiling to Oberyn as she kept near Angélique. Sirocco and Harlan followed quietly, both looking haggard. She felt so proud. Proud of her mother, of the bravery she had shown in the face of danger. Proud of House Cardea, proud to be its heir.
They had seen Sola fall from the sky. As much as the Adviser desired for her daughter to go home, she would not let her go alone. The whole group set off towards the Goldhead, in a strange, silent procession.
Sereya’s eyes widened with awe as she could tell the silhouette of none other than her girlfriend, glowing under the flames. She leaped forward in a heartbeat, dashing through the crowd to the sound of her beating heart. The crowd seemed to be gathered around Adelaide, who was fiercely keeping it quiet, standing calm before Sola’s remains.
Her heart fluttered, and she felt weak for a moment, stopping a few feet away as she longingly gazed towards the taller girl. Waves of admiration, love and pride washed over her as she watched her with sparkling eyes, tail swishing with excitement.
It was then that she noticed that her beloved was locked in conversation with someone that did not seem to care for her much. She overheard the way the older mare belittled the teenager, thinking of it as a slight to her beloved. It didn't take much else to get a reaction out of her. Someone from House Xoias again, huh. How quaint.
The filly rolled her eyes as she confidently trotted closer. “Good evening, Eminent Indiga is it? Fancy meeting you here.” She says lightly, watching the unicorn with a mocking grin. “My love!” she then called insistently as she curled up against Adelaide, shivering as their noses met in a tender touch. “Addie, I couldn’t be happier to see you.” She whispers, voice shaking slightly. She took a step back, bright green teke brushing at the unicorn’s dark locks tenderly. “I’ve heard you talk to the crowd. You’re so brave.” She purrs, glancing over to Sola with disgust. “Mother is right behind me, she’ll help you deal with the crowd.” She says, a little louder, glancing towards the crowd. For a split second, she noticed a cloaked figure that was silent despite the rumble. How strange.

A soft snort escaped his nostrils as Adelaide reminded him that he did not have to be here, a slightly mocking sound (which was all he could get away with in the public eye), to remind her that he had a duty to watch over her, entrusted in him by her brother. The child was strong and was definitely able to defend herself, but with Adonis still out, even if he was safe, he knew it'd be best to stick to her side.
"My lady, it is my duty as your guard to do as I was commanded. Adonis would not approve of you being out alone." He didn't bother to take a jab at her attitude, the way her body relaxed told him that she was glad he was there and that she would not send him off, even if her tone had sounded dismissive.
Quietly, he glanced towards the chevaliers to take stock of the damage. The dragon was certainly a sight, though he had to wonder what this would mean for the rest of the city. "Very strong words my lady, I do believe I see Mistress-"
MY LOVE.
He wasn't even able to point out Mistress Sereya before she was on them, her nose gently touching Adelaide's before they started talking. The stallion sighed, rubbing his tongue over the bit in his mouth as he turned his attentions elsewhere. They were, by and large, the worst kept secret of house Julius, and while he knew that others would not be caring of the gesture, he still kept an eye out for Rosalba.
She was the one who would cause trouble if she appeared while the girls were still so close together. He wanted to get further away from the building, but refused to leave Adelaide's side.

Sunny had run blindly from Azar once in the clear, and had gotten separated from Misti. It seemed she was on autopilot. Her injuries burned, and finally she willed herself to stop. Only to end up tripping over her hooves and stumbling. She stood, breathing hard. Her hat hung lopsided on her head, and her cloak had been hastily put back on. The mare lifted her head and looked around. Others were gathered nearby, and she could see the corpse of the golden wyvern laying on the ground. In her blind panic, she had missed what had happened.
She spotted Caron, but kept her distance. Whatever was going on seemed important, and she remained a few yards away. Instead, her pale yellow eyes flicked over the destroyed building, the corpse of the wyvern... the night had turned to rotten so quickly. She swiveled her head and looked at her injuries, swaying on her hooves. It hurt, but she'd be okay. With a sudden resolve in her mind, she straightened up and approached Caron, moving slowly so as to not agitate her shoulder. Even if they were busy, she felt the need to be close to someone she considered a friend. There was a child, whom they were speaking to, so Sunny waited, patiently. She didn't dare intrude. The commoner studied the others in the area, careful not to stare nor make eye contact. The stress was weighing on her and making her much less sociable.

DELTA Aodh | Labor Slave
The sounds of dragon’s screaming had made her ears ring and the pain from her injuries sustained from the Labor accident was now back in full force. Her adrenalin had died down and Delta had lowered her Shield. She didn’t have the energy to hold it for long, despite her mastery of the Blessing. She’d summon it if she needed, determined to make good on her promise to Flamen Moira. She would protect those around her. Her life was expendable, but theirs wasn’t. Slowly, she limped after the group as they made their way to the Goldhead, now a burning pile of rubble. She must have overstressed the use of her right front leg in all the commotion. The wafting smoke burned her lungs and made her eyes water. She considered holding fire in her throat to choke it out but decided against it. She would only be wasting energy she could use for a Shield. She could see others, no more than shadows and blurry images already gathered near the destruction caused by Sola. Who, Delta noticed upon getting closer, now lay dead among the debris. She gave an amused and impressed lopsided grin, casting a glance to the overcast sky, ‘ Look at you go, kid.’ she thought, referring to Lucius and his Underdog odds. Chevaliers fought to keep the fire from spreading to other buildings, creating periodic plumes of thick, white smoke every time the water landed on a hot spot. She could hear voices as the group gathered. She didn’t really care who was around her, she was just staying with her group to avoid having Chevaliers think she was escaping, since her slave bridle still lay in a charred heap on the floor of the Sanctum. Given her way, she’d have seen those in her charge home and be back in the Dark District. For nothing more than the sake of curiosity, she looked around her. Some faces she recognized from seeing them on the street, but she had no names to go with them. All but one. Pale golden wings and a scarred body caught her eyes. Delta’s heart lurched in her chest. He was here? Why wasn’t he in the District? Why wasn’t he safe?! She clenched her teeth, fighting tears of relief and worry. Her words left her as a broken sob as she stepped towards him, “ Skoll?” WC: 404 Post: 1 Delta is with the main group and has just called out to Skoll. OMG why is her boyfriend here?! : D

More than anything else, she wanted to go home.
An Adviser’s job was truly never done, and she may well have a new King by morning, at this rate. Her work continued, much as she wanted to drag Sereya kicking and screaming back home, to barricade them all in and wait to see what the morning brought.
She cast out a brief thought, wondering how Oberyn and Edenne were doing, and then pushed them out of her mind. She could not afford to linger on what-ifs and things she couldn’t know.
She needed to work with what she had, and right now she was staring at the burning remains of a pub she had stood in not even an hour ago, and a dead wyvern.
She needed a drink.
As much as she wished Sereya was not here, her reaction to Indrina made her bite back a sudden, tired smile.
In dire times like these, she supposed she should be grateful for the little things she could enjoy.
She gave the hovering slave near the Lesser House girl a look- her expression held carefully neutral, looking at him in silence a moment before flicking her gaze to Adelaide herself, glancing over to Indrina as well.
“Your Eminences,” She greeted, long tail sweeping behind her as she approached. “Have you all been here long? Do you know anything of what’s happened, here?” She asked.
The crowd here was massive, and she gazed out over it, looking for familiar faces- and feeling all of their eyes on her back.
She was silently grateful for Harlan and Sirocco’s presence, even as she cast another wish out for Edenne to be here still.
But Edenne was busy fighting for a new Aodh, and Rosalba had to fight too.

= M O I R A = The fire finds a home in me.
WC: 1030 | Post 1 She was, in no uncertain terms, of dire need of a nap.
She was long past the ability of running, between her burned shoulder and general exhausting trauma of the night. But she had come as fast as she could anyway, and still knew she would be of the last to arrive, no doubt.
She was glad to see others had already arrived and taken charge, secretly relieved at the idea of quietly only doing what she could, and not attempting to take on the mantle of a Flamen here.
She let herself cast a brief, selfish wish for it, and then let it go with a breath, straightening up as she approached the group outside the mangled ruins of the Goldhead. Her candles had somehow kept burning, stubbornly not going out, and she took it as a sign she was still needed.
She needed to keep on burning for others, just a little longer.
She raised her head, doing her best to lessen her limp, her eyes flickering over the equines gathered and carefully trying to avoid the sight of the remains of the Goldhead.
And, of course, the remains of the wyvern.
She paused a short distance from the group, staring in silence at Sola’s prone form. Still and empty, she seemed suddenly a little smaller, and for a moment Moira could only wonder at what Isador’s hate had made of such a beautiful creature.
She wasn’t certain how the bond between wyvern and equine worked, but she knew Sola had come on his orders. She knew that Sola had hated them, had seen it burning in her eyes when she gazed down in the Sanctum-
The windows shivered in their panes, a great weight groaning on the rafters as the sudden smell of burning comes, flooding her senses and her lungs with ash -
She can taste smoke, feel her bones crushed to dust, hear the distant shatter of broken glass.
For a long moment she could only stare blankly at the Goldhead, wyvern forgotten, heart thundering in her ears as she forcibly reined herself back to the present. She let out a sudden, forceful breath, letting her hooves slide over the cobblestones, focusing on the solid strength of the earth beneath her, trying to banish the phantom weight crushing her.
She couldn’t take her eyes off the Goldhead.
Anna had been in that building tonight. Aleksei had. And she had seen neither of them in the gathered equines, and she could feel something like panic clawing at her throat.
She forced herself to breathe again, and turned her head sharply from the Goldhead, as if it took a physical effort to pull away, and her ears swiveled, looking for the center of activity.
Not far away, several young nobles spoke, Moira spotting Sereya immediately- and the dour looking face of her mother not far behind her. She listened as she approached the group, assuming they were likely trying to direct the crowd, as well as find out information on what happened here.
But Rosalba had been here. She could tell them, right?
“Adviser.” Her voice was soft, but she was grateful it held steady as ever, and the kirin’s long ear flicked towards her, glancing back in what looked like muted surprise.
“...Flamen Moira.” Rosalba responded cautiously.
“You were here, earlier. Weren’t you?” Moira asked bluntly, and the Adviser’s ears twitched again, but she almost seemed to fight a smile for a moment.
“Yes. I was.” She lifted her head, meeting Moira’s gaze evenly, her tone easily carrying to any listening nearby. Moira had made no secret of her question, and appreciated Rosalba returning the favor.
Others deserved answers as well.
“I am sure there is plenty you could tell us, but I would ask you to ease my worried heart, first, if you’ll forgive my selfishness. But please, tell me- were there any casualties?” She asked, and she mentally steeled herself, raising a shield in readiness for a coming blow.
It would shatter her like glass, anyway, but she would be ready for it.
The rose kirin looked at her in silence a long moment, expression unchanging, but some of the tension seemed to ease out of her brow.
“None, as far as I’m aware of.” She spoke. “But Oberyn and I did not stay when Sola arrived. I do not know of anything that’s transpired since.” She sounded almost regretful, and Moira gave her a tiny nod in reply, her jaw set tight as she smiled slightly at the Adviser in thanks.
Sola had arrived, and anything could have happened since.
Again, with more strength then she thought she had left, she all but physically wrenched her mind away from the rising tide of panic that was beginning to unfurl in her chest, inclining her head towards Rosalba as she turned away. She forced her attention onto the crowd, blinking hard as she tried to focus, faces all blurred and swimming together, only managing to recognize Caron’s distinct silhouette.
There was a child at their hooves, though, and the sight made something awful writhe in her stomach, and she looked away. Another horse was approaching, and Moira recognized her, something in her chest aching at the sight of her.
Sunny had seemed so bright eyed and excited, when Moira had met her earlier that night. She clung to the memory as she carefully stepped nearer, teke glowing as she reached out and gently straightened the mare’s hat.
“As lovely as it is to see you again, Miss Sunny, I do wish it were under better circumstances.” She greeted, giving her hat a final adjustment before her eyes dropped again to the wound on the mare’s shoulder. “Oh, that looks so painful. Have you seen anyone for it? I believe we have a doctor around here somewhere…” She lifted her head, scanning the crowd for Asalah.
It was so easy to settle in the role of caretaker, setting her own feelings to the wayside to be dealt with another time. For now, her world felt a little steadier with a task at hand, and she focused on that, offering Sunny a tired, but sincere small smile.

Phoenix Aodh - Servile Slave There was a lot going on around them, but Phoenix didn't particularly have the time to really absorb any of the other conversations. And she didn't even know what to expect. Would her mistress be angry at her? Would the Envoy brush her off due to their public appearance? Not to mention she hadn't been this dirty since her stint in the Dark District, a time that the pegasus yearned to forget.
But with numerous worries and concerns circling her mind, she didn't expect what actually happened. The dark unicorn gasped, and with strong teke, pulled Phoenix close, away, then back again. The slave knew she was facing scrutiny due to her appearance, luckily she didn't have any actual injuries. Eyes, wide with surprise and concern, flicked from Eliina to a small group of equines nearby [Indrina, Adelaide, Aegon and the unknown cloaked Euonia] that her Mistress was quite close to. Curiosity wove its way through all the events of that evening, but Eliina wouldn't have it. Not now, at least.
"I-I-" Phoenix fought with her own nerves, her voice hoarse from breathing so hard, from inhaling too much smoke. The slave shook herself, lowering her voice. "I wish not to speak their name for fear of others. But...the Prince lives."
Eliina's sky blue teke brushed over her face and neck, the gesture soothing after everything she had been through the whole night. Like Eliina, she pulled herself up straight. No more slouching. Don't fear. If anyone recognized her...so be it. She helped kill a damnable wyvern. Bring it on, Chevaliers. "Thank you, Mistress." Relief washed over Phoenix like warm bath water she knew she earned as soon as they would get home. She had half a mind to beg her Mistress to leave then and there, let the Chevaliers toddle around Sola's dead body and let them get home safe.
No. She was no coward. Not anymore.
Ignacio had blessed her with Fire Manipulation. He had paved the way to give her her spark back. She was sold to Eliina of House Xoias, invited by Avisor Aleksei himself to this very place alongside Nobles, Commoners, and Slaves alike, and they all worked together to bring down the horse-eating wyvern. She wouldn't fear silly Chevaliers playing with their little swords, not when they had something worse to fear in the group currently heading to Cinder Hall. She was much bigger than them, even if her title placed her so, so much lower.
She just wished she wasn't left behind.
Phoenix was about to fall into step to tell Eliina everything that had taken place shortly before everyone had gathered here, but the other unicorn [Indrina] had taken it upon herself to speak up loudly about their location and urged them all back. With a little nudge from Eliina, Phoenix followed her Mistress as they stepped farther away from the building that she had technically been inside of while they were all fighting. It felt like a dream, now. A dream she didn't want to forget. She would never forget it.
Eliina spoke up again, and the small slave nodded. "I helped, that is for sure." Phoenix suddenly smiled, it was almost mocking as she lowered her voice to but a breath. "Three shots. Three. The blessed bow I had was incredible. The Flamen, Bale, he struck the final blow. But we all helped. We all killed her." She was going to launch into her explanation, her note-taking again, but another [Sereya] had come close, and Phoenix was too nervous to spill names around those she wasn't sure were trustworthy. She watched the young kirin interact with the unknown unicorn, and the observant slave noted the mocking grin the youth had. Ah. She recognized the signs of Noble rivalry.
Speaking of Nobles, a familiar face finally joined them; Rosalba. Phoenix felt relieved to see the kirin still alive. Granted, there was no chance Sola would have gotten to the Advisor seeing as Phoenix and the others had ensured their escape. But there were many Chevaliers in the city, and Rosalba and Oberyn could have been attacked or worse.
Oberyn?
The slave looked around, but couldn't see where the other Advisor had gone. Her heart skipped a beat for a moment; was Oberyn taken? Dead? Surely the kirin Advisor would have appeared aggrieved if it were so? Phoenix had to hope the unicorn had made it home out of harms way. Little did she know he ended back up at Aleksei's side. A dark mare strode up not long after [Moira], asking question that drew an icy fear within Phoenix's veins.
She knew her duty was to Eliina, but something made Phoenix slowly move up towards Rosalba. The Advisor had to know that everyone had survived who had stayed after Rosalba and Oberyn had left.
"Advisor." The flame-winged pegasus said, her voice soft, but crackly from smoke inhalation. She placed herself close to the Kirin, as close as she could without touching. "All live." Was all she would say. Her amber eyes spoke volumes; volumes more than just the two words could tell. |

║⟪⟡ S K Ö L L ⟡⟫║ "Can I tell you that in my eyes not even God would be good enough to command you?"
Skoll listened with a degree of boredom to the others musing and speaking around him, his attention on the building and the body of the wyvern for the most part. Everyone seemed to have someone to talk to, someone to worry over them, and to a degree, it was disheartening to him. He wouldn't let it show, of course, keeping his head lifted, gaze cold as he stared at the wyvern and burning building. He was still getting used to how invisible this bridle and brand made him to everyone but the Chevaliers and others wearing such things.
"Skoll?"
His ears twitched, and he blinked, quickly looking over. Delta? She was limping, and where was her bridle- His brows furrowed, and he processed the sob in her voice as she stepped forward, his legs moving to carry him the rest of the way so she didn't need to keep moving. He looked her over more carefully once he was close, blue eyes running over every mark of injury and fatigue. What had happened? He ground his teeth, working at the bit and noseband, wanting to ask her questions, maybe cuss at her a little-
He snorted a little, lifting his gaze to make eye contact, giving her a slight brow raise as his gaze returned to the marks for a moment, a silent question of 'what is this?' Were those faint tears he saw in her eyes? That created an uncomfortable pang in his chest, and a surge of protection he only felt before with Hati, before the war. He huffed, moving over to her side, stretching out one wing to drape over her back in a small gesture, nudging her to walk forward with him closer to the rest of the group.
His gaze passed over the group of what he assumed to be nobility, just narrowing his eyes for a moment. They seemed engaged in... Some sort of discussion that he almost wanted to try and eavesdrop on. It could be important... A part of him told himself 'if you could find some sort of information valuable to the Heralds, then they might welcome you back, feathers and all.' But his gaze returned to Delta, and he shook his head slightly. He could find more information later. After all, the bridle and brand made him relatively invisible in the public eye...

Callerya || Sanctum Attendant || Talks to Moira, briefly mentions Rosalba and Sereya || Visibly Pregnant
It was meant to be a peaceful night in.
Well, as peaceful as one could be while purposefully locking ones' doors, blocking out the windows, and closing business two hours early.
Callerya had stayed indoors with her husband for the earlier portions of the night, though she longed to be at Azar's lovely art show Moira had insisted she stay home; and for good reason. There was a little one to attend to, though not in the world yet they were most certainly growing inside Callerya. They were a gift, and one she cherished deeply. The night was meant to be comforting, relaxing, and a way for her to unwind from her Sanctum Attendant duties.
Her beloved Aodh, it seemed, had other plans.
Having just settled down to take a doze with her husband, both were startled awake by the loud, startling noises of creatures fighting and roaring. By the time they made it to a window to look, they witnessed the creature go down from their window, and the fire that started at the Goldhead.
There was no question about it; Callerya needed to make sure everyone was okay. More specifically - Moira - and her beloved Azar. Were they okay? She had to know. Her husband was all but pleading with her to stay inside, but that was ignored by her stubborn insistence. Callerya was out onto the streets before he could say no.
She came galloping, hooves heavy on the pavement as she prayed that there would be something left of Azar - of Moira - when she got there. It appeared, however, that most of the damage was just at Goldhead, and the sight that awaited her there stopped her in her tracks.
A wyvern, dead and majestic and terrifying, lay in front of her. Horses milled about, Chevaliers fighting a fire nearby and "guarding" Sola. Not too far away was a face that made her shudder - a face she hadn't seen in a very long time. Her older sister, and her niece. It almost made her heart hurt. However, as very unlikely they were to be happy to see her, she was more keen on finding Moira.
Moira.
Where was she?
Callerya found her, and was quick to canter up and check in on her.
"Moira!" She called out to the mare, waving away formalities like "Your Holiness" as that was a title she, admittedly, hardly used. She was sure Moira would have her head if she called her that here. "Oh look at you, you poor thing. You've gotten yourself hurt. Can you walk?" She was already looking at the wound, concern flooding her very being. Never mind the fact Moira had told her to stay inside that night.

Cin'ciri|Aodh|Gentry
Cin didn't really expect to get anywhere close to the burning building, there were far too many fun ruining adults around for that to happen, but what he wasn't expecting was to be stopped by Skoll, the grumpy pegasi who explored the caves with him and Pel, nor for one of his cousins to pick him up and drag him back to Mama. The small marshmallow kirin wiggled and squirmed in the teke grip of Shay, before being placed down next to a group of adults and his mother. Cin giggled as Caron greeted him, his small misadventure momentarly forgotten as the child's mind was easily distracted.
"Yeah! Pel and I have the feathers in our bedrooms next to our scale picture of Iggy! It makes our shine really super cool and awesome!" Cin happily squealed, starting to bounce around the group and running underneath everyone. "Pel and me have even been real good and never even told Kimmy about the tunnels, but it was so hard because we want to go on more 'ventures!" Cin's sudden bounces came to a sudden stop as he remembered exactly where he was at and why.
"Mr. Caron, why is the dragon sleeping on a building? Don't she know it dangerous to sleep on top of buildings?"

DELTA Aodh | Labor Slave
Delta almost cried when the pale stallion turned to face her. She kept herself together, straightening her posture as she watched his ice blue eyes scan her body, stalling on her injuries from the accident. Right, he hadn't seen them yet. They hadn’t actually seen each other for weeks. They knew they were both in the Dark District but could never seem to be caught in the same place together. Would he think less of her? The mosaic of cuts still in the process of healing were definitely not the most attractive. Her thoughts stalled... Why did she care what he thought of her looks? I mean sure, the two could be mildly affectionate to each other when the mood struck, but it’s not like either went out of their way. Still… She was relieved that he was here. The dappled mare had missed the former Kirin’s company more than she had expected. He comforted her, made her feel safe, helped keep her sane. She hated to do it, but she knew that she’d break, just a little, this time. More so than what had happened with Suzan earlier. When Skoll came over to meet her half way, she spared him a smile, watching as he looked at her wounds closer. The cruel bridle that had been fitted onto his head kept the stallion from talking. She knew that if he could, he’d be flying off the handle at her, but doing so out of worry. His eyes were enough. Try as he might, he couldn’t keep his emotions from reaching them. Delta tilted her ears back, giving him a sheepish laugh, “ I can explain the cuts. But… maybe later.” she said softly. Then he surprised her. He draped a wing over her back, guiding the two of them closer to the growing number of horses. He was warm and Delta didn’t even notice when she pressed closer to his side. He never took his wing away, keeping it where it was. She took in a shaky breath, her aqua teke reaching up to tangle in the short mane above his withers. Her eyes landed on Sola’s corpse, “ She attacked the Sanctum we were in. Blew fire right through the house of a God,” she told the stallion quietly, her voice no louder than a whisper, “ Our God. There were children there. If Flamen Moira hadn’t given Slaves permission to remove their bridles most of us would be dead.” The silver mare summoned tiny shards of her Force Field to clarify before releasing the Blessing, “ I would be dead.” She took in another shaky breath, nodding towards Eliina’s direction, “ I’m meeting with that mare later. She’s gonna help me smuggle some medicine into the Dark District. Gods know we could use it.” Delta looked up, seeing Skoll’s eyes trained on the dead Wyvern before them. She brushed her teke along his neck in a comforting gesture, “ You miss yours, don’t you? I’m sorry, it must be hard to look at,” she said to him, “ There was a second Wyvern. A juvenile named Lucius. He fought her off of the Sanctum, tried to protect us,” Delta felt fire in her throat and the smell of a burning campfire surrounded her as she snorted a puff of sky blue fire, “ A true Aodhian King should never turn his dragon against his own city. The Wyvern is a Palace sigil, it represents the Royal House. It should stand for the people, not against them.” WC: 596 Post: 2

Of course Cin wasn't going to stand still for much longer. He watched as the small colt bounded between peoples legs, including his own, yelling something about tunnels. He raises an eyebrow, tunnels? What tunnels? Like the one beneath the Pearl? A question for another time, more people were showing up and for right now, his cousin was being entertained by Caron. Shooting the kirin a grateful look he glanced over to where the other nobles were, seeing many more equine arriving, most from the previous incident in the sanctum. His ears perked up as he watched Moira and Rosalba talk. The adviser and Oberyn were here earlier? Until Sola attacked? He hoped more details might get shared as the night went on, but for now he touched Asalah on the shoulder to get her attention and pointed over towards Sunny with a hoof. Taking a risk in leaving Cin out of his eyesight for now he took a few steps closer towards where the other nobles were gathered. He remembered someone had asked what happened.
"Your eminences, I don't know who was directly involved, but Sola attacked Azar before coming here. She shattered a window and breathed fire at those of us gathered there, if not for those blessed with force shields, we'd have been far worse off. There was a second wyvern that attacked her and she flew off to here. The second wyvern was much younger, and hung around the sanctum before following Sola. We could see Sola attacking the buildings and other horses, who were fighting back, and then the second wyvern came in and began doing battle with her. There were blessings being used, and at some point Sola fell below the tops of the buildings. That's when I and a few others ran over."
He shuffled his hooves nervously. He was never great at socializing in groups of nobles, despite the amount of parties he'd attended. He fidgeted with the corner of his cape, tugging it over the fresh scar on his shoulder.

The stallion cringed visibly under his cloak, a quiet sort of desperation clinging to him as he heard Cin carelessly give away that he had been playing in the tunnels that they had found.
The only salvation that he had, was the fact that the boy was not capable of keeping a singular train of thought for too long. He had known the boys were a liability, but he could only desperately hope that Caron would be able to fix the issue.
And by fix the issue, he more hoped that they could keep the boy busy enough to talk about the tunnels again. Quietly, he slunk through the shadows, ears perked for any other information. After all, he wasn't exactly here for any reason other than keeping the boy safe, and with his mother close by... well, he didn't really need to be here did he?
Yet he stayed, maybe it was because of the dragon and maybe it was because of his own morbid curiosity. Cin had gotten his attitude from somebody, and it most certainly hadn't been his mother. It was a bit of a pity, but not something Cass could think on for long.
"Surprised you stayed in the city, Skoll." He whispered, taking note of how angry the hippocampus beside the stallion was. "I would've thought you didn't like being in place like this..." It wasn't meant to enrage, though the stallion most certainly was disheartened to know the pegasus had decided to stick to the life he held within New Valore. After all, slavery didn't seem to be a lifestyle he wanted to perpetuate. The mare's anger gave the stallion reason to pause, ears flicking as he thought her words over.
Worry gnawed at his gut, standing so close to a slave that was angrily mouthing off the city would be dangerous, but he felt the chevaliers were a bit busy with the current mess of the tavern. Besides, she was just whispering to Skoll as far as he could tell.

TLDR: Cass wants to know what happened and Delta's got him curious as to what this slave is doing here with a mouth like that, also pls don't attract the chevs. I like life.
Dutiful as ever, Aegon continued to keep his guard up as the two young lovers continued their soft conversation. He was trying his best, but he knew that it'd be nigh on impossible to spot Rosalba before she appeared at the scene, if she ever appeared at all.
That second part, it seemed, was wishful thinking.
Rosalba caught them in her gaze long before he was able to warn his mistress of the Advisor's appearance. The streets had gotten a bit too crowded too quickly, and while Aegon had tried his best to stand between the two and the fury of Rosalba, one look made the servile slave step back and avert his gaze.
He wasn't dumb. He might have belonged to House Julius, but Rosalba was not the kind of horse to anger. He turned his attentions elsewhere, feeling as if he would've been dead where he stood if she had wanted it to be so. He was a lesser, he knew this, but he did feel a surge of protectiveness deep in his chest. He could only hope that she would continue the conversation and not resort to anything otherwise. After all, he was very certain that Adonis wanted to try to maintain some sense of being on her good side for the time being.
He frowned to himself, biting the bit in his mouth harder as he considered her tone. How he wished he could tell her to back off and let the two girls enjoy their time together. They always seemed so much happier this way anyway... even with current events in mind.

TLDR: He's feeling Rosalba's fury and very much so would like to live.
Shay picked her son up before she could do much about it, and a sense of relief flooded her as she quietly managed to pick the boy up in her teke while the others continued their talk. He struggled angrily against it, but the fight was futile. He had tried it a thousand times before and each time Asalah's strength held out. This would be no different.
Shay's touch pointed her in the direction she had heard the voice of Moira, her ears flicking forward momentarily as she nodded. "Thanks Shay. I'll go right over." She kept hold of the boy as she walked over. "I heard somebody ask for a doctor?" She asked, turning to Caron for a moment. She considered pawning the boy off on them, but decided that, while Cin seemed to trust the kirin (and Asalah had seen them get pretty protective on this night in particular), she had decidedly come to the conclusion that Cin's trust was not good, especially if he knew the imposing labor slave that stood beside Delta.
Granted, she'd have to go back to that thought in a moment. She hadn't exactly expected Delta to have anybody she was attached to in the herd. She shook her head and walked over to Moira, a smile on her face as she noticed Sunny, who had been at the Sanctum.
She pursed her lips. She thought she had taken care of the wound back before they had gotten here, but with how many injuries there had been, it wasn't exactly surprising that she missed somebody. "I can patch that up." A wail escaped Cin'ciri. "Don't mind my son." She held the face of a tired yet worried mother as the kirin child continued his struggles. The look of concern on Moira's face didn't go unnoticed to her. "Have any of your own?" She asked after a moment, trying to lighten the mood a little as she waited for Sunny to give her permission to help him. She felt older than her years in that moment.
She then noticed the doting pregnant sanctum attendant worrying over the Flamen. Or do you just know what it's like to worry about the people who care so deeply for you? She added to herself.

E U O N I A"Renunciation, total and sweet."
Her eyes had scanned through the crowd, listened to every bit of conversation she could grasp as her heart gradually stilled. She gradually pushed aside her personal fears and the emotional turmoil she was in.
She had a duty to those people, and she would fulfil it. This was no time for her to be a faceless shape. Seeing familiar faces appearing within the crowd had given her back some of the composure she had lost to the battle. She noticed Phoenix first, alongside her mistress. A sigh of relief escaped her lips upon seeing the dainty Pegasus – thank Ignacio she had not gone with the rest of the group. She had fought so well but showed signs of strain. She deserved all the rest in the world.
Young Adelaide seemed to be doing just fine and had found help. They were to move away from the burning remains of the Goldhead Pub, a decision she wholeheartedly agreed with. Her eyes widened as she saw Sereya running towards the unicorn – relieved to see her safe, hoping it meant people in Azar had escaped safely as well.
It was seeing Angélique that made her drop her hood. She did not think twice as she trotted towards the young filly and pulled her in an embrace, safely shielding her among her feathers. “Thank the Sun you’re safe.” She uttered in a strangled voice. “Were you in Azar? Are you hurt?” She took a step back as orbs of light softly highlighting the filly’s feature. The mare sighed in relief as she noticed nothing but a few scratches across her niece’s stainless coat.
It was then that, looking up, she noticed Moira in the distance. Was it not for Angélique, she’d have run to her in a heartbeat, but smiled at her through tired, crinkled eyes.
“You stay close, alright? I’ll be right back.” She whispers, planting a kiss on the filly’s forehead. She heard Shay’s tale as she walked closer and shivered with horror at the thought of the attack on Azar. It appeared there had been no casualties, at least. She hoped the Sanctum would hold up. She then closed the distance between herself, Adelaide, and someone she identified as the heir to House Xoias, as well as Rosalba.
“Your Eminences.” She called, giving Sereya and Adelaide a small nod as she smiled weakly. “I’m glad to see you all safe. I believe you wanted to drive the crowd away from the fire. That is a wise decision, and I will be happy to help.” Orbs of light twinkled around the group as they spoke, drawing attention to their group. Gold-stained wings flared open, dropping the remains of her cloak to the ground. “Children of Sol.” She called, eyes scanning over the crowd “Most of you have wandered to this place with hopes of answering your questions and soothing your fears.” Her wings folded back slowly. “Sola fell tonight. There is no reason to linger near her body – she will not cause further harm. I will be happy to answer any question you may have, but I must ask you to move away from the building first. You may all voice your concerns and share your impressions once we are within a safe distance from the flames.”
She glanced towards Adelaide and Indrina – stepping back as she let them take the lead.
