Bellona // Skirmisher
Esin's explanation made a lot of sense, she nodded thoughtfully. Belle had no idea how thunderbird clans worked, and had little knowledge of what happened during the part of the war she was in hiding. Her mind drifted momentarily as talk turned to the storms, but she interrupted by Fish who muttered something about Rook being right, a gift as a show of good intentions would serve them well according to her familiar. "Fish agrees with Rook, a gift will help show our goodwill".
She couldn't help but find herself annoyed by the naysayers. "Why on Hireath would the matriarch have allied with you only to cause this? That's doesn't make any sense. And it's not like we're asking for an alliance, we want information, that's all. This mission is simply to collect intel, then we can figure out if we need alliances and what actions to take." She had done much worse things than face an angry thunderbird, she really didn't understand all the fuss. She frowned at the Advocate who suggested sending her familiars alone. Let them go out into the unknown on their own? With no way for her to watch over them? She thought not, but kept her gob shut and listened to the Sultan instead.
"Astral projection is not a viable option, familiar whisperers can only speak with familiars, we would need ours with us to understand the matriarch. And I am quite comfortable meeting this grand matriarch face to face, I'm a trained warrior with years of experience and with my familiars I have added protection. It would be better idea to go the border of her territory and discuss a meeting with one of the thunderbirds patrolling. They could take a message back to her and she could meet us there, we would never have to set a hoof within her territory."
She paused for a moment as a thought came to mind.
"I think we should offer a trade. The Sultan is right that their hunting has likely been disturbed. We can offer them supplies in return for information, it's a fair trade and does not require any alliance or long term cummunication."
She surprised herself at how vocal she was becoming, but even more surprising was when Essie suddenly vanished from her side. She hadn't even noticed Rook's behaviour because she was so used to the presence of thunderbirds. Looking around, startled, she spotted Esin beside another equine. A frown and a feeling of jealousy set in momentarily as Essie returned to Belle's side. But she pushed it down and continued to focus on the conversation.
