Rue | Outcast
The cave narrowed so much, it forced the foals into a single file line. Rue didn't even know who she was behind, and certainly had no clue was behind her, she couldn't really turn her head without her antlers banging into the walls. All she knew was fear was quickly rising up her body, just as fast as the water was rising. Thankfully, the tunnel opened back up into a larger cave, and the foals were able to spread out a little more. The water was now to Rue's ribs, and she let out a small whimper. When Isykle spoke up, Rue quickly, or as quickly as she could move in such deep waters, made her way over to the older kirin. Her coat was thoroughly soaked, and her body quivered as she frantically looked for a way out of this nightmare.
"I want to go home..." Though it'd be impossible to really tell with how wet her coat already was, she had tears streaking her fur. Watching the others transform into their fish forms, she wished she could do the same thing. Squeezing her eyes shut, she prayed for her body to reform, for fins to sprout where none had been before. Of course, when she opened her eyes, she was still standing in the cave, finless and still without knowledge of how to swim.
Suddenly, the sound of spewing water caught her ears, and she watched, dismayed as several faucets around the cave began pouring more water into the cave. The water was rising once again, and Rue felt her hooves scrabbling on the floor as she rose with the water. Slipping, her head dunked under the surface of the water and the foal began thrashing her legs to try and pop back above the surface.
Hooves catching the floor once more, she pushed up and gulped in some air. Kicking her legs out, she tumbled towards Isykle's tail, resting her head on the older kirins rump, panting softly. As time went on, it was becoming clear to her that there would be no adults coming to save them, and she was completely useless for any help in this room.

Owain Growing rapidly! ......
Little Owain's head broke the surface when the water suddenly roared to life, as faucets began to run freely. The water was too dark and murky to see anything in, and the sudden roar shocked him. Panting with mild panic, he took time to listen to the others and realize where the new gust of water was coming from. The situation was growing dicey and his stomach was doing that terribly knotty thing again. He was too young to read and couldn't be of any help there, but he could... sink to the bottom of the dark water and prod around in it.
"I'm going back under! Maybe there's something hidden! " he called out in a moment of rare bravery spurred on by the other kids being so sure that they would all come out alright. He looked to Rue, and felt deep worry for her and Isykle... they had to move fast! He dove back into the dark water and sank to the bottom rapidly, for once rather happy with his graceless form, and then he returned his prodding and poking along the dark cave floor, hoping for anything that would help them. Anything at all.

Thaddeus' teke wraps around a foreign object wedged within the pipe. With a bit of tugging, he frees it. A glimmering necklace lies at the end, the gold chain marred by years within the tunnel. Attached to the chain is a beautiful turquoise stone. It's expensive and flashy, clearly a marker of wealth.
The stone is also the perfect size and shape to be placed into the middle of the ceiling. With hope, that will be what frees you all.
Meanwhile below the surface, Owain also fishes up a necklace of similar shape and quality. Maybe it is the one that will free you all? Choose wisely, you're running out of time.

Seven | The Shoal
"I-I don't know," Seven replies to Thadeus before the other moved away. Perhaps it was Aquorian. No matter how much he squinted, none of the symbols seemed familiar to him, so perhaps that was why. But water was beginning to wash over his face now, and he spluttered, stretching his nose up as far as he could to keep it above the water. Time seemed to be slowing down. He could feel his heart racing. He could feel the dull thump of his back hooves against the stone floor. The water swished about him, moving his fur imperceptibly back and forth. Was this what his brother had felt? Was this what it was like before you started drowning? No matter how much he trusted in Cascade he couldn't stop the fear that rushed through him at the thought. His blood ran cold, and tears sprang to his eyes. It was all he could do not to cry out for his family. His chest heaved with a choked back sob. Cascade, please. Please. Please protect me.
The water lapped over the top of his nose, and he kicked off of the ground as best he could. He would have to try and tread water in the swirling murk - he could no longer reach the floor. He kicked violently, distantly hoping he wouldn't hit one of the hippocampi swimming around, head bobbing up and down over the water. A word of hope reached his ears and pulled him out of his darkening thoughts. Thadeus had found something. Then Owain. He tried to turn to look, but only caught a glimpse of the necklaces as he struggled against the water. Necklaces?! How could those help? His head ducked under water. The tear of Cascade that he had worn around his neck since the first trip to the Temple of Time suddenly laid heavily against his chest. His head burst out of the water, gasping. The ceiling was closer than it had been before - or, really, he was closer to the ceiling than he had been. And the first thing his eyes landed on as they opened back up was the small indention in the middle of the ceiling. "There!" he spat. "It's the same shape as the necklaces!" he couldn't motion to the ceiling, but his eyes remained locked on the spot that all the text lead to. There was no telling why a necklace in the ceiling would stop this madness, but it wasn't like they had any other options currently. (Post 5: 417 words)

This had spiraled out of control. No, it had never been in their control to begin with but now things were growing even worse and Belle had never been so furious with herself. The water had only risen further and further, and in spite of Belle’s best efforts, she hadn’t been able to alleviate its threatening presence. For a while she had—creating walls and barriers to hold it at bay—but soon the sheer amount of it and the weight behind its own rivaling push wore her down. The artist’s heart raced with dread as she was forced to helplessly watch the levels rise, thinking of the Rue and the older kirin, of Seven. Gods, where was the way out?!
However, the others had already been hard at work figuring that out while she’d been struggling against the water. Now that she’d been forced to give up on her own plan she was finally able to listen in on those with her, equally thrilled that they’d made progress while angry that she’d essentially done nothing. There was the niche in the roof, where all the strange words led, and now there were necklaces—strange stones on worn golden chains that both Thaddeus and Owain had found, but which one was it?!
No. No more deliberating, no more hesitating. People could die and Belle did not want to let that happen.
They had to act fast.
Seizing Owain’s necklace with her teke, Belle cradled it in a patch of water that she steadily grew into a thin spire, taking it up to the niche in the ceiling and shoving it in.

The necklace shudders, then breaks into little pieces, falling back into the water. You look at it tearfully, worried that you won't have time to put in the next, but then you notice the quiet. The faucets have stopped spewing water.
In the next moment, the floor beneath you disappears, turned intangible, and all the water and you go rushing down the hole. For a few minutes, you slide down winding turns. It is scary, but before you can drown or really be hurt in the tumult, you are deposited in a pool at the base of the slide.
As you look around you notice a group of adults just emerging from a similar pool. You call out. "Help us, please, it was so scary!"
Congratulations on finishing Talori 805: The Courtyard Gate! Rewards will be distributed after the chapter's close! You may now post wrap-ups!
