Gemstone was at a loss of words.
Kuebiko had, like herself, approached one of these wisps. But for some reason, the wisp had not only changed shape, but it had also settled on one nearly as soon as it touched her. A permanent shape. Her eyes flicked to the wisp she had approached, and it was still shifting colors lazily about her. She thought about touching it, but something told her that even if she had, it would still continue to warp.
She barely even heard Ozzer’s response, so transfixed on the creature that had taken to Kuebiko. And he echoed the question that bubbled into her own mind. What happened indeed. And why?
And Kuebiko, in all of her uniqueness, simply went about greeting the wisps like an old friend, and began to eloquently explain what had happened as if she had seen it happen hundreds of times over. And then the old mare hit the nail on the head; why they were there. She was sure of it.
“Don’t you see?” Gemstone looked between Ozzer and Kuebiko, since it was their conversation that initiated the sudden train of thought. “This was the reason Argus lead us here, I’m sure of it! Argus definitely wanted us to come here, that’s why we were all acting so strangely. Because of them! They were calling us to them.” The zonkey filly was nearly dancing on her hooves in excitement. “We’re supposed to reincorporate the wisps into Bremian society! If what Kuebiko says is true, it should only be natural for them to be among us, Argus’ children.” She nodded her head as if that would surely settle the matter. And all the while, the bells, gongs, and chimes tinkled and tolled about her.
“And if I am wrong, the wisps probably won’t follow us. But I feel like...I feel like at least some of them will.” She looked again to the red and purple wisp that still hovered near her.

SILVER "Nothing changes, if nothing changes."
Slow hoofsteps echoed through the narrow pass. Silver braved the closeness of the space and the spinning movement of the tunnel, both of which were frankly creating nausea in his stomach. In order to keep himself from becoming dizzy, he kept his pace slow and shut his eyes for periods of time, nearly walking into the other horse ahead of him in the process. The feeling of Pixie chewing on strands of his mane somewhere within his cloak is the only other distraction he has from the strange vortex.
Oh, he's regretting this. Twenty minutes after trekking through the corridor, at last it widens out into a much larger chasm. The young unicorn, who had been fighting the faint nausea in his stomach, sucks in a deep breath and lifts his once low hanging head to greet the sight that awaited them all. Silver's ears perk, and his steps slow while his jaw begins to hang open in awe at what he sees.
"No way..." An entire cave full of wisps! The boy lowers the hood of his cloak for Pixie to see. The cockatiel was sitting behind his forelock, and it chirped in surprise for having its hiding place removed. "This must be where they live. How could this place have gone so long without being found?" As the unicorn colt speaks, a wisp, one sky blue and turquoise in color, begins to draw closer to him, as though equally curious. "Hello..."
He turns his head just in time to witness a sunset-colored wisp, one close to Kuebiko, transform into a completely alien shape. At first, the boy is frightened but with the omnipresent tinkling of bells and a calm atmosphere lingering within the chasm, Silver quickly eases. All is well in this place. "It's like you've unlocked some sort of hidden potential within it..."
The colt stares skyward, towards the cave ceiling in thought while the blue wisp floats curiously around his avian companion. The wisps came in all sorts of colors, almost like souls. Come to think of it... "Some say that wisps can be the spirits of those who've passed..." He thinks out loud. "Some of them living tainted lives come back as one that dimly glows..."
A pause, before he chuckles faintly. "Not that I am...suggesting that these are the souls of bad horses. I'm thinking out loud. The point is, we've found something amazing." He turns towards Gemstone and steps closer to her. "Gemstone, again and again you keep proving to me that there's something spiritual about our home."

Tenebris | Tie
Mere moments after Kuebiko moved closer to the sunset-colored wisp, it started to shudder. Tenebris, at first, put up his guard in worry that something dangerous was about to come from the wisp, but after it finally settled on a new form he relaxed and watched in awe. Ozzer’s questions echoed the ones in Tenebris’ mind and the old mare was more than happy to give an explanation of what just occurred. He blinked, looking back to the wisp that had caught his interest. It hadn’t seemed to connect with him in the way the sunset one had with Kuebiko, making him consider that there had to be something deeper between the wisp and someone. He was happy for the older mare as life seemed to return to her eyes. Gemstone started to speak up next, convinced that this journey was part of Argus’ plan to bring these creatures back to society. If that was the case, Tenebris couldn’t help but let out a quiet laugh. “ What a day...Argus, you really threw us through a loop this time,” he said, taking the time to walk through the cavern, passing by wisps. He secretly hoped one would change just like the one did with Kuebiko, but so far nothing happened. It probably wasn’t his time or he just wasn’t ready for one. Still, nothing to be disappointed about as soon the rest of the Umare would be able to enjoy the same sights and curiosities as they had.

The striped filly looked around at the other wisps, wondering if what Silver said really was true. There were many rumors about the spirits, but was it possible that maybe among the glowing creatures, her parents were residing here? But on the same thought, she figured they would have approached her already. She didn’t want to dwell on that.
Turning to look to Silver as he steps closer to her, she flashes him a sheepish smile. If she could blush, she would have.
“It’s because I believe. I know that’s what my parents would have wanted me to do. And I know my Grandma, Alba, would want me to do. To keep believing with all my heart.” Still grinning, she looked back up towards the hovering wisps, before she regarded the Tie, Tenebris, as he laughed softly.
“They do work in mysterious ways, don’t They.” It was more of a statement than a question, and the girl looked over to Kuebiko.
“Kuebiko, what do we have to do to bring some of them back with us? We can’t just leave them here, we might never find this place again, and I don’t think Argus would want us to lose this chance to regain what we had lost.” Out of everyone, Kuebiko seemed the most knowledgeable, considering she was the first to seemingly tame one of the flickering creatures. Sure, Gemstone herself seriously wanted one herself, but if they could be brought among the rest of the herd, maybe others would become as lucky as Kuebiko.

Kalyan
Breim | Doctor
Kalyan froze at the sight of hundreds of wisps and for a moment had to fight the urge to take a step backwards. He was entranced; caught between fear of something unknown and curiosity of something unseen before. The longer he willed himself to stare at them he slowly began to settle, recognizing that the spirits did not feel like they had that one day. As he stared, watching them slip between an array of colors he felt his fearful memories start to fade and he could suddenly appreciate the wisps for their simple beauty.
Still, that did not mean he had much intention to get closer, and he started when he saw one of their group approach a wisp. He said nothing, for worry that causing a commotion could agitate the serene wisps, and instead watched with his breath held as the spirit transformed.
"It's true we must have been deliberately led here to find them." Kalyan spoke up in agreement, listening to the other horses though his eyes had not left the transformed spirit. "They seem curious about us to- I have a feeling some will follow us back."

Ozzer | Warden
Ozzer tilts his head, listening to Kuebiko. Even more now than before he got the sense that she knew something they didn't. Especially as her voice trailed off. He wished he could ask her more questions, but this seemed a reverent moment, and not a time to pry. He would have to be satisfied for now with the answer. His ears twisted around to Tenebris' voice, gaze following. "'What a day' is right. I can't imagine anyone will believe most of this story."He listened to the children speaking, their faith admirable. While he believed in the gods, he had never been terribly dependent on them. Today might have changed his mind to some degree. While Gemstone's question was directed at the older mare, the donkey still piped up. "I dare not question you now. I believe you are right in thinking that we were meant to find them and possibly take them back." How they would achieve that was another matter, though, as the presence of mortals had never seemed to illicit a response from the wisps on the Day of the Wisps... but they had already proven that they were different here and now than before. Perhaps Kuebiko would know more about how to get home. He was ready to be home. The relief that their journey had ended, with no casualties or injuries, and a special treasure to bring back, was beginning to sink in. He looked forward to revisiting the starscape, and then enjoying a quiet, peaceful walk the rest of the way home. "Perhaps if we make good time, we can be home in time to introduce the wisps at the end of the Celebration," he said to no one in particular. He looked around at the field of wisps, trying to take in the sight one last time as he waited to take up his place at the back of the pack once more.
