ember I see skies of blue and clouds of white The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night And I think to myself what a wonderful world
" The tome's account is true." Ember speaks her statement softly as she steps into the King's box above the elevated seats of Valore's emins, and regards Evalynn with bright blue eyes. For all the softness of her words, they echo in the chamber, as clear as Ignacio's day. She sounded tired.
"The people of Aodh lived alongside their god, once. The kirins loved the Smoldering Sun, and He loved them. So tenderly, so gravely... and it was for that love that they laid waste to the world."

ULYSSES ”Dear Artisan”, he said, ”I do see the benefit of pursuing this knowledge, and I do not question faith in of itself. But have you walked the streets? Have you seen the fear and uncertainty? There is a time and a place. The way news is delivered is as important as the words themselves.” He looked at her, feeling a pang of unplaceable guilt. Of course, he would not want to lie to people. He had sworn to serve them. But he was also in their midst, and in his heart, he did not think that the people would find benefit and comfort in the idea that even Gods could make mistakes. Especially not with the kirins destroying the countryside. One could, perhaps, think that they were the mistake, rather than what might have happened a millennia ago.
“Fear breeds violence. It breeds denial. Zealotry. Whatever is revealed about the tome, and when it is done, is key. More study is needed. A full translation, authentication. It is unfortunate that the Adviser did not come with you now – it has left you standing alone”, Ulysses went on. Certainly, if it was true, it could explain a lot – in that the two nobles were right. Ignoring the information was dangerous, but so was releasing it at the word of a single artisan. They were already so broken.
And Ulysses, too, was afraid. He was there with the poorest of their people, and he knew their suffering and fear. How the laborers, taken from their comfortable homes, now worked harder than ever to mend the damage the upper class had wrought.
A new voice chimed in. Ulysses turned to look at Ember, his eyes wide with surprise. He hadn’t expected an Adviser to arrive, and the tiredness in her voice stroke a chord within him. He too, was tired. Tired and afraid. Emotions a Flamen could not voice.
“What is your advice, then, Adviser Ember?”, he asked honestly: “If it is true… Still, my opinion stands. The way it is told is as important as what is told – fear will bring us nowhere.”

Emin Thaio of House Soleil
Post 4 Word Count: 236 Thaio’s smirked as more sided with him. Even more so with Iscah by his side. The smirk was wiped from his mouth as Embers voice rose above them. His ears fell flat and his emotion was changed to a scowl. Letting a rather obnoxious sigh leave himself. He let Ulysses speak first. All the while giving the Advisor a glare. “I still stand for what I said, Ember.” He didn’t want to satisfy her with niceties. He took a few steps forward, towards the King’s box. “And what proof do you have that its true, hmm? What is it that you are hiding from us?” Ignacio was his god too. He was thankful to be blessed by them. The god soothed him in such a trying time. Giving Thaio the light to furthermore guide his path. To eliminate the shadow monsters that plagued him and the world around himself and his family. His eyes squinted at the Advisor, his lips pursed. Before looking back at the others. He licked his lips before talking again. Looking at the ground as he started. “Ignacio may be a god. But he has walked this mortal plain long enough.” He looked back up at Ember once again. His ear forward and proud. Eyes bright “Perhaps even god’s make mistakes. And I’m sure you’ve made more than your fair share, yourself.” Thaio stepped away, turning his back to the older mare.

I burn’d — and ached for wings Emin Embers admission that the texts were true, while appreciated, did not sway the scarred Emin's own resolute opinion. The text, regardless, would only sow more dissent and discord amongst the populace, something Kaisar would see stopped before it began. Still voices rose after Embers quiet murmur, and the Kalama found himself relieved and daresay pleased, that they had not suddenly changed their tune. Ulysses garners his favor with an impassioned declaration of what would surely follow. Thaio too, joined in, rough around the edges and lacking the polish he might've liked, but such finesse came with experience. Learning the Game and it's many angles and layers. "May I," Kaisar starts, red hued eyes going from one face to the next, "I would not be opposed to funding the research needed on the tome, out of my own house Treasury." By the time his words finish, they linger on Evalynn with a curious veil. "However, on the stipulation we withold the information for now. It's a much too fragile time to go releasing this without proper preparation, and without adequate texts to further back the claims, as true as they may be. Ulysses is right on that much, where it might break our people, it may very well stir them into violent denial. I will not put innocents at risk, nor the stability of our home." Then he turns his attention to the Flamens gathered. "And I would have our Flamens join you, if they feel they can be of assistance. They are Ignacio's chosen, after all, and their knowledge and touch with the Starscape could prove invaluable to you." 270 WORDS / Post 4.

Undyne Enya Flamen Let's sway While colour lights up your face Sway through the crowd to an empty space
x | x With talks underway and Artisan Evalynne speaking her piece in front of them all, Undyne was content to stay silent for now. He had always been one to observe and listen first, traits picked up from his days as a seamstress as he worked on the linen of customers. Nobles and Emin's alike were all chatterboxes, even so now as voices spoke over one after another, some outraged and some in disbelief. Undyne merely shuddered as his eyes passed over the tome and Emin Ember, his thoughts reeling to that visit to the smouldering ruins of Ashlar.
Ember had dashed any doubts of the tome being fake and though few still sent her scrutinous looks Undyne could only fear what that meant for the future of aodh. Ignacio had loved them, had always loved them but now Kirin’s were popping from the ground like daisies, while antlers sprouted on those who had never had them before. Turned Kirins, he knew plenty of, in fact numerous ones stood in this very room. They still retained themselves, their personality. The only thing that had changed of them was their appearance but these newly appeared Kirins were different. Not one had he met that was a kind soul, the glare of kirin king forever ingrained into his mind.
Licking his lips, Undyne’s gaze had turned to Kaiser as he spoke. He bowed his head at Evalynne “Yes, while the tome may spark unrest among our people, it is our duty to our god to provide aid in the deeper study of the tome.” He glanced at the other Emin's around them

Bale agreed very little with very few of the Eminents. He assumed they had not stood on the streets, among the fearful people. Heard the whispers and seen the many faces. Bale had seen the looks on the Chevaliers’ eyes when they had stood up against King Soleil. To him, Ignacio wasn’t a matter of faith – he had conversed with the god so many times already. But to others? This could be catastrophical, and that was the only part which he agreed with. The coldest stare, however, was received by Thaio, at the mention of the Crucible. The Eminents didn’t really outrank the Flamine in matters that touched the religion, and the Soleil brat was way out of line. Bale grit his teeth so hard Ulysses probably heard it, not to say something he would immediately regret.
Ember’s voice, however, easily carried over all the ruckus before he had come up with a politically correct answer. Bale was familiar with the way the Adviser could do that, even though he had never quite cracked the how. His golden gaze tore into the King’s box, the angry sparks momentarily stilling around him. There was no doubt to the words, and as little as Bale wanted to agree, he was would have rather trusted the Adviser than the fickle Eminents. Maybe it had to do with the fact that Ember had had a hoof in both his freedom and him becoming a Flamen. Chills ran along his spine at the thought that love between god and mortals could destroy the world they knew.
His ear turned towards Ulysses as he spoke, and then pinned at Thaio’s bratty words. His skin shone obnoxiously brightly, but so many questions had already been spoken that he did not raise his voice.

ULYSSES He was content with his message. Despite some jabs thrown about the room, he felt as if he had said what needed to be said – the truth of things. In a world where people were never insecure, never afraid, he would have delighted in freedom of this knowledge, in letting all the people study this mysterious document to their heart’s content… But this was not that world, and not those times. He wished they were.
He felt slightly amused at Thaio’s words. Gods were, perhaps, capable of mistakes. They were certainly responsible for their actions, just as mortals were. But to suggest that it was caused by walking among the mortals, well, that was to place the blame on this earth itself, was it not? No matter. Mortals could not truly understand divinity. Perhaps what seemed like missteps to their eyes, bound by time and place, were but a part of a grand plan for those who transcended a thousand lifetimes, able to view the board from above.
He smiled at Kaisar when he spoke. For a noble, the man seemed utterly reasonable. Intelligent and measured. Ulysses felt that in another life, he might even have liked the dark, scarred unicorn. Instead he nodded, and looked at his fellow Flamines – Undyne gently, with a nod of approval, Bale more with worry as the sparkles grew and the anger seemed to brew behind those amber eyes. He twisted his own tail to rest on Bale’s, a slight comforting pressure meant to ground the young man, a man as fiery as Ignacio himself.

Evalynn | Artisan
Mounting desperation grew in Evalynn as Thaio and Iscah spoke. Gritting her teeth against Thaio's warning of her own standing, she wanted to scream to the heavens at the bullheadedness she was battling. Juliet's words broke through, soft though her voice was, Evalynn would swear it rung loudly through the room. Iscah at least was willing to have the tome studied, and try to dig deeper into the history that this tome presented, and Evalynn was about to jump on offer when a new voice rung out, silencing the entire court.
The tome's account is true.
The words ring in her head, dizzying and validating.
Validation!
She wanted to jump for joy knowing that she wasn't just chasing a false lead. Truly, as she had said, the knowledge that this was indeed the history of the kirins had no power over her dedication to Ignacio. The circumstances were not something she was there to witness, to go through, not to mention, it was a vastly different time.
However, some of the Emins, in all their stuck up, snobby glory, still doubted the validity of the tome, even when Ember herself proclaimed the truth. Evalynn may not know the advisor personally, but Ember was well known, and had been trusted to set Lilith's child on fire when she thought the child to be a kirin. If Evalynn were to trust any of the advisors' at this point, Ember would be the one, even if her methods were a little... unorthodox at times.
Listening to the Emins clamor once more, questioning Ember, and speaking out their doubts and ideas, Evalynn looked at them all, waiting to hear what the outcome was. At this point, she'd pled her case, she had proof, but it was ultimately not up to her what happened, as sour as that made her.
Her ears perked up as Kaisar spoke, knowing an opportunity when she heard one. The Emin would fund the research. He had been staunchly against this tome holding any semblance of truth, saying they needed more proof than one dusty old tome. Ember's words had swayed him, at least enough to have him willing to have the subject thoroughly studied.
She'd likely end up having to put her forging projects on hold for the foreseeable future. This was no small job, and she was going to make sure she dug through as much information as she could get her hooves on. Having the Flamens working beside her would be no issue, Undyne and Ulysses seemed nice enough, and perhaps even Castiel would be called in. Her annoyance lay solely with Bale. He just rubbed her the wrong way, insulted her, and seemed to have a holier-than-thou attitude that set her teeth on edge.
"Emin Kaisar, I accept your offer. I will begin working as soon as possible. If you wish, I will keep you up to date on all information that is found, pertinent to this new recollection of the past. Perhaps Advisor Ember can point us in the correct direction. Burying our heads in the sand to deny our history can be just as detrimental releasing the information at the wrong time."

I burn’d — and ached for wings It was a precarious time. As such it required careful, considerate navigation and thorough exploration in order to proceed with minimal fall out. Kaisar was a man of observation and then action, to hurdle forward without consideration was blasphemy. A death sentence. If such information was released as is, to a distastrous and negative effect —the nobles gathered, he knew — would have little hesitation on throwing anyone but themselves to the wolves. The scars on his hide were a testament to the savagery of the upper echelons, and he'd rather not have a repeat. Or more aptly, he'd rather not have to go hoof to hoof to save his own hide over a poorly announced, dusty tome detailing the dirty laundry of their ancestors. Neither would he have Evalynn sent to the chopping block, truthfully. She was after all, doing what most reasonable, intelligent members of society would. It was evident she cared for the contents, for what it meant. Ember's confirmation of it was enough for him to take the tome seriously. But the fact remained, they needed more. "Excellent." Comes his pleased rumble, when Undyne agrees, and his eyes go to the rest of the gathered Flamens in their turn. Then back to Evalynn as she accepts the offer. "Whatever you require, equipment or extra hooves, you need only ask." He states easily, followed by a short, curt nod. "I would like that, the History of Aodh is of great importance, to all of us, the Good and the Bad. But the latter must be revealed cautiously, and with understanding. Without that, we invite wolves to our doors, and fan the flame of dissent. Is there anything else the other Emins might like to say? Or are we all done." 292 WORDS / Post 5.

scarlet emin Scarlet turns her gaze somewhat harshly onto Ember the second the advisor speaks. Regardless of what they say, Scarlet is instantly reminded of what the advisor has subjected Lilith to. Regardless of whether or not Ingrid had been a kirin, bathing them in fire would not have been Scarlet's first choice of action. She narrows her gaze, listens to what the advisor says, and then goes back to resolutely ignoring them. "I agree that it should be kept from the public. It's already inflamed many of us, imagine that reaction spread ten-fold amongst the herd." She says, adding onto what everyone else has already said. "I can help sponsor the study, as it so happens. Monetary support for those that are working on cataloguing all that is told within the account." Scarlet offers additionally. She may not be so educated herself, but she is more than willing to help fund such scholarly pursuits, and if the artisan is going to devote their time to the study of the account, than Scarlet could, at the very least, ensure that they could work without fear of losing any income.
"If that is all, may we convene the Court? I'm sure we've all come to an agreement, no?" She asks politely, ready to leave, but willing to stay if there is more to discuss. 4 | 223
