Ozzer | WardenOzzer couldn't say he was excited about the task at hand. The aftereffects of the power surge, which had caused many of the normally stoic Breimian emotions to flare, were taking their toll on the little donkey as well. While he never preferred big groups, he would have simply shrugged it off as another job, but when he was assigned to a group of eight volunteers to go stumbling about the caves in search of a replacement crystal he had objected. The city was in darkness. Many parts were still recovering from the collapse months before. The last thing he wanted to do right now was leave Daisuke once more so that he could babysit a bunch of horses that had probably never stepped outside the city limits. But the palace had demanded it. A replacement had to be found, and who else was going to do it if not them? His goodbye to his son had been long, and his greetings to the group short. He led them with few words, and spoke little over the following days. What little he had learned of them had not eased his conscience much. A ragtag group, to be sure. However, he was pleased to learn that one of them was another warden. A face he later remembered seeing around the warden's apartments, but a name he had never learned until now: Ryika. It also seemed helpful, he guessed, that there were two healers among the crowd. Previous adventures had taught him their necessity in the unpredictable tunnels - you never knew when a rock might fall on someone (a fact that he had not withheld when prepping the group as they set out). The fact that one of them was Ciel did cheer him up to some degree, but he wished once more that they could have met up again in better circumstances. He really needed to make plans to see his friend when a catastrophe wasn't happening... But these days, catastrophes seemed almost to be the norm. The jack looked up now at the glittering crystals that dotted the ceiling above them offering a minor amount of light that mixed with the light of the lanterns they carried. He wished he could find peace and wonder in the gems as he normally would, but now they brought him a sense of anxiety that came with a fruitless search. While wondrous in their own right, none of them were powerful or magnificent enough for the task at hand. He had seen many, many gemstones in his travels, and none of them matched the job description that would fill the shoes of the city's power crystal. Instead, they were traveling into the deepest parts of the labyrinth, rarely traveled by even the wardens, in search of a particularly awe-inspiring vein of gems. A gem that even the most well-traveled of Breimians would never see in their lifetimes. They would need more than a little luck and help from the gods to find what they were searching for.

Ryika;Breim | WardenFight For what you Truly see As Yours
Ryika was not sure how she felt about the task that was given to her but she wasn’t going to turn it down either that would make her look bad in her own eye’s so she accepted what was given to her, she swore to herself that she was to give it her all to find this replacement and give no less. As she saw her group that she was going to be traveling with she was nervous at first as she didn’t know what they was Capable of, her greetings to them was a head nod but she felt slightly better knowing there was another Warden around His name was Ozzer She felt as she might have seen him somewhere but she wasn’t going to think to hard on it. She looked around and counted the Number of heads that she was going to need to keep track of as they was going into the Tunnels after all, the Un-Mapped tunnels that she has yet to go through she was a little on the Edge as she didn’t know what to expect in this new Location but she did know one thing that she needed to have a level head and keep her mind cleared ti get back out.
She did notice a couple of Healers as well in the group as she knew they will come in handy if things was to go south, she Felt confident that they could get through this she didn’t want to think negative she kept her Confidence to herself as everyone was on edge already after what had happened.
As she looked at the Ceiling she realized a lot has now changed in the last few days Rykia was not the one to like change especially not this one, as she looked around in her mind she was Praying that they would get through this and find this replacement that they needed it was not like her to feel this way but it happened to sudden that she was still in shock.
She knew it was going to take a lot to get through these Tunnels as nobody has ever really been through them not even wardens, so this was unknown territory to her and she was going to have to map everything in her head so they can find their way back out. She was also worried as to what happened to her brother as she hasn’t seen him since the Incident, she was wondering if her got a task or if he is safe at home but she shook off those thoughts as she needed to think of what they needed to do for this task ahead of them.

Tenebris | Tie
Months ago, Tenebris would have laughed if he had been told he was going to venture into the uncharted parts of the mysterious Labyrinth one day. Yeah, sure, like Argus had some big plan for him. A tea shop owner whose only ambition was the growth of his business and really nothing else. He wasn’t laughing now. The disasters that fell upon the city had turned the once quiet unicorn into a more proactive member of society. He had gone out of his way to help free a child from the wreckage of its home after the protective barrier above Nariah failed, and now he had volunteered himself to join an expedition to find a replacement for the large crystal that was his home’s power source.
Upon the group’s gathering a week and a half ago, Tenebris felt extremely out of place. Getting a less then welcoming introduction from Ozzer didn’t help. He had gulped when the jack had mentioned the possibility of the dangers they would face and the unicorn had started to second guess his decision, but it had been too late to back out. They were on the move before he knew it and now the journey was really just beginning.
Taking a glance back at the familiar path, Tenebris felt his heart start to race. The glow from the crystals above and around them mixing with the lanterns cast their shadows upon the tunnel walls, which gave the unicorn the creeps. Their shadows seemed to dance and twist unnaturally as the rocks became more natural and jagged rather than the smooth walls he was used to from the city. A shiver ran through him, and he quietly whispered a prayer to Argus for protection.
Breaking the silence that cast itself over the group, Tenebris looked up towards the front of the group, at Ozzer in particular.
“E-excuse me…” he started, his voice trembling as he was taken aback at how loud he seemed to sound. “Is there anything in particular we should be looking out for?”

Almost dropping a scalpel onto an anaesthetised patient and then uncharacteristically crying about it was the wakeup call Ciel needed to let himself know that even he wasn’t exempt from the effects of the crystal’s shattering. The danger brought about by failing telekinesis and emotional flares forced him to start refusing his regular patients during their times of need, those who were most frantic and worrying about the effects of the shattering on their health unable to receive a checkup from the pony. Finally, he had decided enough was enough, and volunteered to join a search party for a replacement crystal, knowing he could not continue his career until it was found, packing his saddlebags and washing his cloak in preparation.
Despite the crystal being a very crucial part of Breimian society, he did not expect such a large search party. However, it was a pleasant surprise, as he assumed he wouldn’t be as lonely as he had first feared. It eased his nerves the find that Ozzer was the leader of the search party, and made a conscious effort to stay nearby the donkey, knowing if something happened and the group was separated Ozzer was the one he wanted to be lost with, and looked for every opportunity he could to prove his worth to him. He also had a familiar dark stallion catch his eye- Iyasu- to whom he nodded solemnly at, both in acknowledgement of him and acknowledgement of the terrible events that had transpired between them, their secret assured to forever weigh down his hooves. Desperate to move on from such macabre thoughts, he checked out the rest of the equine he would be stuck with, only recognising Shigure as a fellow Healer and most of the others in passing.
At the beginning of the journey, there was a spring in his step and breath in his lungs as he talked nonstop, pointing out every crystal and questioning if it was ‘the one’ in hopes that he saved the day and they could all go home. As the trek continued, his chatter dampened and he conserved his energy, well aware that they had entered the Labyrinth, where merchants were more than slightly hard to come by. He was reckless with his rations before then, and paid the price as he had to ration his rations at almost a week into the search. Now, at a week and a half, he walked with his hooves dragging and head bobbing, an itch for a sip of coffee and one of Imogen’s cakes awakening his short-temperedness, made only stronger by the crystal’s effects. He could swear he was a few pounds lighter, though his limbs still felt heavier.
His ear swivelled to the direction of Tenebris’ voice, but he couldn’t be bothered to answer, instead watching Ozzer through heavy eyelids, trying to decipher the donkey’s judgement on the nearby crystals through his body language, having a grumpy inner monologue as he internally cussed out the High King and Argus as well as most of the other group members.

Ryika;Breim | WardenFight For what you Truly see As Yours
As The group traveled through the Tunnels Ryika Stayed upfront following Ozzer she was looking at all the Crystals on the ceiling as they walked, she then heard Tenebris Ask a Question but did not Answer as she didn’t no what to say instead she was going to just let Ozzer handle that Question. She kept a Close on on the Surroundings as she mapped everything she saw in her head and even jotted a few things down in her Journal, as for when this all is over she wanted to learn more of this Un-mapped Tunnels. She looked around at everyone to make sure everyone was still close by some of them looked drained she herself was but she had to keep herself bright eyed, as anything could happen and she needed to keep herself prepared to protect everyone if needed.
Ryika had so many thoughts in her head days before everything was normal and going good and out of nowhere everything went into chaos, was there a reason for it she just wanted to know why it happened. She always got told things happen for a reason but what could the reason possibly be for this that would make sense to her, she wanted to ask many many Questions but she did not and kept them to herself because nobody would probably no the Answer to them. As she wrote in her journal of all the things she was seeing and she was also mapping down from the start to where they are now, she was starting to feel the need for some Tea it was her favorite thing to drink and every sense everything went up into Chaos she hadn’t had any.
She let out a Soft sigh “I wonder what we will find in here since nobody ever really been through here, Hopefully something good or Helpful at least.” She softly Spoke not ever realizing what she thought she said in her mind actually came out of her mouth. She wasn’t one for much words but now that things are different and she hasn’t talked much since she felt the slight need to make Conversation, she just wanted things to go back they way they was everything happened to sudden that everyone been on edge since they left and came into the tunnels.
Ryika never thought that they would be going through the tunnels to look for a Crystal she thought they was saving that for something else, but now it’s different and they need a replacement and had no choice but to search the tunnels. She had been waiting for the say that she would get to go into these tunnels but she wished it was on different Circumstances, she was happy that she was with this group as it felt like they was all playing a very big role into reviving breim.

Kano Guard of Breim
Kano was probably more thrilled than the other members to be apart of the group that was the task to search for a new power source. This is a chance to prove himself to the Watch. He was young and still had yet to be assigned a mentor and the Watch assigned him to such an important task. Even after traveling with the group for over a week now, he still found this situation... unbelievable. After receiving the news, he rushed hurriedly to prepare. There was such a buzz in his head, he had almost forgotten to write a letter to Nickola - it was more a hasty note, stating the little details he knew about the task and he was not sure how long he would be gone. Hopefully, the letter was enough to sooth the mare's worries.
He thought the group was a little large, but more the merrier he supposed. He did not recognize most of the horses, the only one he did was Tenebris. A fellow ally when the cave in happened months ago. The two had helped a mare rescue her son from the ruins of her home. Things might have had a shaky start but the two were on much better terms now. Kano had visited the stallion's tea shop often. He would have to say the tea was quite exquisite. Kano was happy to have Tenebris by his side.
Kano positioned himself towards the back of the group, glancing back now and then to make sure nothing hiding in the darkness would sneak up behind them. His ears standing at full alert. They swiveled towards the direction of the companions ahead of him, Tenebris had asked a question and a warden called Ryika said something too, but it was too quiet to make out. He stayed quiet, a behavior that was not common - but, he was just out of reach to be able to have a normal conversation and he was a bit more tired than usual.

Shigure the Healer You dangle on the leash
of your own longing;
your need grows teeth Shigure was friendly to the group, well enough so, he wanted them to know they could go to him, if needed. Ever since the Crystal had shattered many came with odd ball needs and demands. Shigure was willing to help, something perhaps to help settle their mind a bit, and Shigure wanted to ensure the group knew, no matter what he could be there if needed. The last thing they needed was someone in the group to lose their breaking point.
As they traveled onward Shigure of course was beyond thankful to see a familiar face among them. The healer Ciel, the others. Well he sadly did not know much if anything about them. Perhaps he healed them once? He couldnt recall, a part of him criticizing himself for not remembering ever face he saw, or every equine he met in passing.
Ears twitched as someone in the group asked a question, another commenting on what they would find. Shigure snorted a bit, sometimes no news was good news, and finding anything in the tunnels, did not always seem like such a good thing. But he had to admit at least she tried to be positive. Eyes glanced to each one, everyone seemed to tired or worn out. He could not blame them, this trek had of course been something else.

Iyasu
Iyasu could not say for certain why he had volunteered to go on this mission. He had done so almost without hesitation, quickly packing and getting his affairs in order. However, that did not explain why he had volunteered. He still had a drive to help, but he could have done that within the relative safety of Nariah. Though with everything that had happened… perhaps he wanted to better guarantee that safety? Maybe he wanted to help his herd at large instead of the more minor and individual impact he had as a healer, which had been less effective since the collapse of the crystal. Maybe he wanted some normalcy back in their lives? It could be that he was still trying to atone for the events during the ceiling collapse… Iyasu mentally shook off that train of thought. He had saved a life. They had saved a life. His eyes wandered to Ciel. He was not alone in that particular burden, even if it would not stop him from blaming himself. And in the end it did not matter why he was here, just that he was.
Iyasu turned his attention to the other members of the group. He had heard of the older Healer, and he felt sure that his father had mentioned the paper crafting master at least once, but beyond that he could not say that he recognized anyone. He hoped that their diversity would be an asset, and that they could all get along with each other. Currently nothing had given him any doubts, and he would leave it at that.
He felt his eyes drift to their surroundings once more, looking at the crystals that jutted from the cavern walls. He had never thought to wander into the Labyrinth. Especially to enter the uncharted tunnels in search of something truly spectacular. Would they be able to find it? There had been little success so far.
He quietly pulled out a piece of dried fruit candy from one of his packs. He had allowed a very small stash to take up space in his supplies and had done well to not eat them all or to take way too much to begin with, logic thankfully beating emotion in this instance. His guilty pleasure for them had spiked with the chaos of the crystal and the turmoil of his emotions. Plus he reasoned that sometimes little treats could boost one's mood, and they may need it. He rolled it in his teke thinking on how he had enough control for this task, but anything much larger and it was usually a losing battle of wills. He sighed. This crystal was crucial to starting things back to normal.
His ears swiveled at the sound of a question, soon followed by a quiet thought. It was good to have the silence broken. He hummed, having no particular inclination to say anything in response to either equine, before he finally popped the sweet in his mouth. He pulled another piece out and looked around, wondering if anyone else would be interested in one right now.

Ozzer | Warden
Each hoofstep echoed dully off of the cave walls, and with such a large group the sound was magnified into a whole army of thumping and dragging steps. Normally the jack would be completely oblivious to the sound, having long since grown used to the reverberations of himself and his charges. But with his scattered emotions setting him on edge and the size of the group intensifying the sound to a level he was unused to it had begun to set his teeth on edge. Perhaps it was also that, after having so many pairs of hooves following directly behind him for a week and a half, his blessing was becoming rather numb. The natural vibrations of the earth were simply getting lost among the hoofsteps, and perhaps it was that, more than anything, that had made his teeth start grinding. It was no surprise, then, that he welcomed the distraction of a couple voices piping up behind him. Not many, but enough to allow the other sounds to fade into the background. The question asked of him was also no surprise. He was honestly amazed that it hadn't been posed sooner. The lack of responses from the others told him they were wondering the same thing. His shoulders moved in some semblance of a shrug. He turned his muzzle only slightly to the side, so that he might still see his way, but hopefully project his voice to the group at large. "I couldn't tell you for sure. I assume it will be large, like the old power crystal. I imagine as well that it will be extra bright, as it should shine with so much arcane energy that it will give off more light than the others." His long ears flickered to the side, considering the effects that the shattered, unharnessed magic from the old energy source had had. "Perhaps its surroundings will be.... more magical." It sounded dumb, but he wasn't sure how else to phrase it. "Something like a larger than normal vein of crystals, and maybe the ground around it will be effected in some way. I'm guessing we'll feel it when we get close. Perhaps some of our teke strength will return." Or perhaps the crystal would make it and their emotions even worse, being an unbridled energy source and all. But he wouldn't mention that. "I think we'll know it when we see it." He hated saying it, but it was the mindset he was going off of after all. He wasn't so much worried about identifying it, as finding it in the first place. That was going to be the real trick. Ozzer nodded at the other warden's words. "By Argus' mercy, I do hope we find something. If we don't see anything useful in the next few days though, I believe we will have to head back to Nariah." He looked down at Ciel, dragging alongside him. He knew the small horse was tired. Most of them were. It was a long and restless journey already, and with so many equine unused to traveling he suspected rations and morale may begin to suffer pretty soon. He had, of course, packed enough food to keep everyone alive for a few extra days then planned, as any good guide should, but living off of those last few scraps attempting to return home was never a fun situation to be in. They would turn around before that happened. Almost in response to his thoughts of food he heard the rustling of a pack behind him. He did not turn around, but suspected someone had grabbed a snack. Perhaps they could all use one. "We will take a break soon," he said. "Hopefully there will be a small cavern up ahead that we might can stop in."

AKIMOTOWoodworking Master | Breim
Akimoto wasn’t really sure why he was here. Why had he said yes? As his legs ached with long walking he wasn’t accustomed too and his mind drifted back to his workshop, which was still in shambles, Akimoto really couldn’t find a reason why. He had drifted to the back of the group, content to let others pass him as he surveyed crystals they had passed and the rock formations around them. Rock was unforgiving and cold, with water occasionally dripping onto his back. The woodworking master was not used to these unpleasant conditions, and swung his lamp closer to himself, as if it could stave away the sudden chill he felt.
As Ozzo poke of teke, Akimoto faintly remembered why he was here. The panic in the city. The flares of emotion and strange happenings. They needed this crystal desperately, and so they followed Ozzer. “A break would be nice,” Akimoto piped up, “I’m sure we all want to rest our hooves and a break gives us a chance to plan ahead. I don’t see why we would have to return to Nariah empty hooved. Perhaps gathering multiple, crystals could replace the one large one?” He dreaded returning to Nariah in the same state they had left it. Maybe more would work as a sort of hold over? He really wasn't sure how any of this worked.

Tenebris | Tie
A hushed voice reached his ears causing Tenebris to glance towards Ryika. It wasn’t an answer to his question, but more of her own pondering and he couldn’t help but agree with her statement. He had hoped that by now they would’ve found something, and since they hadn’t he could only hope that when they found something it would be at least somewhat helpful. His eyes traveled from the warden to the only equine he recognized, which was Kano. It was almost a relief when he had seen that the horse had joined the party what had seemed like forever ago. They had worked well together in the past, and he was sure they would do so now. He couldn’t help but move his way through the group until he was at Kano’s side, finding comfort in familiarity. It seemed like forever before Ozzer’s voice broke through the silence and Tenebris listened intently. What he said made complete sense, and it was something the tea shop owner should’ve thought of before he had spoken. It would make sense that they would feel a change if they were approaching a crystal with that much arcane magic, most likely drastic and unnatural. He stared past the front of the group to stare at the inky darkness that lay before them. If what they were looking for was going to be very bright, they were definitely not near it now. It was almost disheartening to have that thought cross his mind, but it was the reality they faced. They might not even find anything and have to head back or just get lost. He shuddered again, hoping their fates were more positive. Ozzer’s voice broke the silence once more suggesting a break, follow by Akimoto’s agreement. “ I think a break is a good idea. If anyone wants, I have some tea that should be good to help give us more of an energy boost.” Tenebris dug through his pack until he found the large water sack full of tea he had prepared that morning, and hoped everyone would be okay taking swigs from it. “ It’s probably not going to taste as strong, but it should do the trick.”

Arya | Papercrafting Master
While others may have wondered why they were on this mission, Arya knew her reasonings. Ever since the crystal's shattering, her teke and mood and gone haywire. You needed to be calm and collected to papercraft at the level that she was renowned for. The hippocampus was, after all, the Master of her craft. But any time she was called on in the past month, her teke would tremble and shake, and her mood would destabilize very quickly from the frustration of not being able to do even the simplest of projects. It was beginning to take its' toll on the mare, and she feared even her students could tell. So when it was heard that there was a party gathering to go and find a replacement for the old crystal, she quickly agreed.
Granted, Arya had absolutely zero knowledge of the Labyrinth, mapped or unmapped, but she hated feeling useless, which is exactly what she was since she could no longer craft reliably. She was not prepared however, for how long and deep into the tunnels this trek would take them. While she was used to being around her students and clients, most of the equines she was around frequently she knew on a more personal basis. She was not known for being outgoing, rather she could be described as a recluse. More interested was she, in her craft, and her books, tomes, and scrolls. The sooner they could find a new power source, the sooner she could feel like herself again and dive back into her passion. So she was thankful she knew at least one of the others' on this expedition. Akimoto, the Woodworking Master, had also volunteered. She had been surprised to see him, though from what she'd heard of what had become of his workshop, she really shouldn't have been.
Her ears perked slightly as a few of the horses spoke, and she chose to remain silent, rather hoping to hear good news from the Warden that was leading them. When a break was mentioned though, Arya let out a quiet sigh of relief. Her hooves felt bruised and sore from the unforgiving rock they tread upon, but she kept her discomfort to herself. Resolute was she to keeping quiet, the mention of tea broke that resolution with a swift stroke. The mare had run out of her tea she'd prepared, and she'd not gone a day of her life, she suspected, without at least a single cup of the herby liquid.
"Any tea is welcome here." Her voice was quiet, but her eyes were lit up with the thought of tea.
Strangely, her kitsune, who was known for his mischief and ill manners, had been strangely subdued once they had entered the Labyrinth. Sparing a glance down at the beast, she wondered if she should be concerned.

admin notes As you make your way deeper into the tunnels, you notice something down a winding pathway that looks somewhat promising- gemstones that appear to be roughly the same kind you're looking to replace. Maybe with some luck, these stones will lead to somethin bigger! Be careful though, the path ahead looks rather rough.....and you can't help but notice that it's kind of strange how the crystals seem to just be scattered on the ground....

Kano Guard of Breim
Kano glanced over at Iyasu, a healer, who had within drawn from their bag a piece of candy and proceeded to consume. It only reminded him that he too was slowly gowing hungry. As trained, he had packed enough rations to last what he believed would be enough time to find the new power source. He had left with a full enough stomach so that he was ready to go without feeling sluggish. He was careful to eat the rations sparingly and if needed, he would gladly share his food with the others. Hopefully, they would not be in a situation where that would occurred. The beige stallion made careful note of the leading warden’s words. His eyes flickering to each gemstone that passed, seeing if it match the description. Kano gave a nod when Ozzer suggested taking a rest at the next opportunity to do so. “A break is always welcome.” His attention shifted shortly afterwards to Tenebris, who had slowly shifted his pace to walk beside Kano. Kano gave a delightful grin as the horse beside him, offered some tea to the group. He also gave a nod of agreement towards Arya, who had mentioned that any tea was welcomed. It was a versatile drink that Kano especially enjoyed. After meeting Tenebris and finding out the stallion owned a tea shop, Kano made it a habit of stopping by on a regular basis. The tea was too delicious to stay away for long. “That’s a tearrific idea, Tenebris. I would gladly have some.” Puns had always brightened his day and this instance was no different. There was a small shift in attitude and demeanor - a little pip in his step.
As he was more springy in his gait, Kano lost his footing, and tripped over a gemstone. He was quick to recover, stumbling to regain his balance. His hues looked down at the ground to ensure he would not make the same mistake twice. He raised an eyebrow, he was not in the tunnels often, but being in the tunnels for over a week now - he knew that the gemstones were not found in the typical pattern that the other pathways shown. He lifted his head sharply, looking to the front of the group to see if anyone else had noticed.

Ryika;Breim | WardenFight For what you Truly see As Yours
Ryika Looked around at the walls as she passed by them and was also watching her steps as she didn’t know what could possibly Lie ahead of them, as she looked at everyone they all seemed tired. She then heard Ozzer Mention a Break “I’d Be up for that break, I also feel as we go this way we will start getting hopeful but that’s just my feeling I have.” Ryika Mumbled she never was a loud talker, so not many ever heard what she had to say, she then heard the mention of tea and she was the one to never turn down tea either. “I’d Love some tea if Possible, that is one of my Most favorite Drinks.”
She then heard someone opening a snack and she then quickly looked into her bags she had brought along she still had all her rations with her as she totally forgot she had brought them as her thoughts was elsewhere, she pulled out one of her snacks and opened them and took a small bite out of it she was savoring all the rations she had left but was willing to share to anyone in need of them. She was always know to take care of everyone before herself and right now this group is all she really had, and she wanted to take care of them all to make sure they all get home safely.
As they walked she heard one stumble behind her and Glanced back and saw what had tripped them “Whoa that’s different, I’ve only seen them on the Ceiling but have not yet seen on on the floor, That is interesting.” Ryika actually spoke up this time as it was Quite a Surprise to see one on the ground like that, the previous ones she had seen was all on the ceiling or walls so seeing that one on the ground gave her slight hope as something good might happen soon. Turning to look at Ozzer hoping he might have something to say, he was getting slightly more cheerful hoping this meant good news for the group as they had travelled this far into the tunnels.
As she took another bite of her snack that she had recently opened she was feeling more joyful as she felt that something was coming their way, she wasn’t sure if it was good or bad but she was curious onto knowing what it was. They all needed Answers and hopefully what Lies ahead it will give them what they need, in her mind she was really hoping it was the Crystal they are looking for so they all can go home and everything go back to what it use to be. She’s just also trying not to get her Hopes high as she’s afraid it will let her down as she has had many experiences that had lead down that defeated path, “Hopefully we will get the answers we need soon.”

Further and further in you travel. Rosy and rich blue gemstones, some quite large, are scattered loosely along the path your group follows. The glow from each is familiar. Much like those you see on the mapped tunnel walls and ceilings. Deeper, the tunnel goes. And it almost seems that the air pulls at you like a draft from a window. Like a breath.

The shetland carried on, dragging his hooves, hyperaware of every little hoofbeat and snort that his compatriots produced, trying diligently to concentrate on the crystals rather than the voices. While usually the pony would try and let himself be known to everyone and know them in return, this time he was content with sticking by those he already knew, as he had noticed that some of the others had their own little relationships formed, which was bound to happen in such a large group. Every sound made stoked the fire in his gut and made his brow fall lower- until he heard the all-too-familiar crinkle of a candy wrapper. At first, he thought it was delusions from travelling so long, and flinched, his muscles telling him to move and look for the source of the heavenly noise, but his brain telling him to keep walking and to not look behind him for fear of seeming weird if he truly was imagining it. He remained in a state of tension, broken out of it slightly by the mention of a break, sighing as the strain on his eyes from staring at bright crystals was relieved.
At the mere mention of tea, Ciel’s interest piqued, and as soon as he saw the sack filled entirely with tea his mouth felt drier than Sedo. He was extremely tempted to leave Ozzer’s side to be closer to the tea-bearing Tenebris, but felt somewhat superstitious about it due to previous events, and stayed in his current position next to the donkey, lagging slightly behind where he was in hopes to catch a whiff of the miracle brew.
“That’s a tearrific idea, Tenebris. I would gladly have some.”
A chuckle escaped Ciel’s throat, the largely unexpected pun catching him off-guard. He felt his mood and body lighten as endorphins lifted his spirits, walking with his head higher and a grin on his face. “Bloody good one, Spots!” He gestured with a flick of his tail in Kano’s general direction, nodding his head to himself. “Don’t know your name, but you’re alright, bud.”
Kano’s little trip startled him more than it should have, which resulted in the pony jumping into a rushed 180-degree turn and squaring his posture for fight or flight. As soon as it occurred to him that it was not, in fact, the sound of one of the group members falling victim to an unseen predator but Kano tripping and falling, he had the initial reaction to feel angered. However, actually getting a good look at the horse made him realise that they seemed young- younger than him at least, but he couldn’t quite place what age. A quick scan of the rest of his group revealed no others that looked as young as him- and it bothered him that such a young horse was on such a demanding trek. Gathering his thoughts together, he smiled to himself, determined to make this journey as stressless as he could for the presumably young horse. “I know I complimented you ’n’ all, but that doesn’t mean you can fall for me,” He joked, sticking his tongue out over his shoulder as he turned back to the front, doing some deep breathing exercises to try and calm down.
The air further in the tunnels tickled his shaggy coat, forcing a slight shiver. “Brr. This place gives me the heebie-jeebies. Can anyone tell if these gems are cursed? They feel cursed.” He tapped his silver horseshoe against a rather large blue crystal nearby, wincing at the tone. “Just askin’- I might pocket one or two for myself. Love the colours, 'specially the blues. They’d make a great souvenir to remember our heroic journey, yeah?” Feeling the subtle effects of the air once again, he continued moving, only to find large amounts of the crystals ahead of them scattered like breadcrumbs leading them to the darkness. “Oi, Ozzie- stay close to me. It reeks of strangeness here- just look at all those crystals! On the ground! By Argus’ spleen, if this is a trap, I’ve called it.”

Ozzer | Warden
"Mm," the donkey mumbled at the mention of tea. Having grown up as a Vagabond, it was not a drink he had tried until he had reach Sirith. He didn't hate it, and could appreciate its varieties and complexities, but he certainly did not have the same affinity for it that natural Breimians did. If he had learned anything in his years in Sirith, it was that tea was the life-blood of its horses. And you didn't dare turn it down when offered to you. But everyone else was caught up in the idea, and hopefully did not hear his less than enthusiastic affirmation. The sense of camaraderie that the simple gesture made by Tenebris had brought was an admittedly pleasant change from the quiet wandering that they had been doing. He would allow them to all partake in the drink first as he continued to be the eyes and ears of the group, looking for a place to stop. A small speck of light down a side path made him hesitate. A single gem? Unable to pass up the curiosity he turned down the path, the distracted group following obediently behind him. As Ozzer approached his suspicion rose. Not only was there just one gem, but it was on the ground - not in it. Why would it be unearthed? He peered up at the dark cieling, the long, dancing shadows being cast by all of their bobbing lanterns making everything uncertain. Perhaps it just fell out of the cieling? But another gleam of light poked around the next corner, and he followed it. Pretty soon there was a fair path of them, enough for the young guard to trip over one, and finally bring the others' attention to them. "Finding them in the floor is more common in the lesser traveled tunnels, simply given that no one has picked them up yet..." he answered, "But these... aren't even in the ground. It's almost like..." he followed with his eyes the constantly increasing path of gems in front of them. "It's almost like they have been picked out of the ground... and put back down." The thought alone brought a chill down his spine, and made his hair stand on end. That and the sudden chill that the little shetland was quick to note. "I don't think they are cursed, persay," Ozzer replied to Ciel, his voice getting low. He didn't know why, but whispering suddenly seemed to be the right thing. "Just magical. I think they might be what we are looking for."Each passing stone seemed lighter than the next, putting out more luminescence than gems their size should. But, too, they were growing bigger, and bigger. Each and every one of them scattered about the ground. His legs tingled, and he felt odd. It was almost as if there was an arcane resonance coming from the stones, both physical and audible. The normal silence of the caves was filled with what felt like a low hum, but if you tried to stop and listen to it you couldn't hear it. There was also a sudden worry that if he tried to use his teke, it wouldn't work at all. He glanced briefly at Ciel, not responding to his comments on safety, but having a weird feeling that the healer was on to something. Still he could not stop himself from continuing further down the path. With them growing in size and number surely they'd find exactly what they were looking for further down the tunnel. And he felt nothing in his tremor sense other than the multiple sets of hooves within the group. Not yet anyway.
"I think we're about to find out answer."

AKIMOTOWoodworking Master | Breim
“Cursed?” Akimoto’s ears twitch back at the idea and he swished his tail nervously as he sipped the last of his tea from Tenebris. Nervously, he shuffled closer to Arya, the other master crafter in the group, “Seems a bit preposterous, but there is an ill feeling in the air.”
Akimoto took a sniff at the air, which somehow seemed alive. He’d never been this deep in the Labyrinth before, but he expect it to be damp, the air still, but this. The air breathed with the gentle pulsing of crystal light. If something lay ahead, he was unprepared. With only a knife for whittling and a piece of half shaped wood, he was woefully ill-equipped. This air made him nervous. The wall seemed closer and for once he felt the weight of the earth above his head. Maybe they should turn back. But Akimoto didn’t believe in a job left unfinished. He shook the treacherous thoughts from his head. If he did, he never would have become a master woodworker. He couldn't let his fear hold him back when the community counted on their group. Everyone must be scared back in the city, what was he but another confused soul? His resolve strengthened, he stepped forward towards Ciel. Words like that might make the group falter. “There is nothing to do but move forward, no matter the risks. We signed up for this for the herd. We seem close to something and we cannot afford to return empty hooved. Let us hold together just a bit longer.”

Tenebris | Tie
Letting out a soft laugh at Kano’s pun, Tenebris handed off the sack of tea to whomever had reached for it first. It brought him a feeling of elation that there was something he could do to liven the spirits of those on this journey even though it was from something as simple as their tradition of drinking tea. He couldn’t focus on the fleeting feeling as Kano then tripped over something, causing Tenebris to reach out with his teke, as unreliable as it was, to try and catch his friend. “ Woah, careful,” he said, trying to help the guard find his footing. “ What did you trip on?” Tenebris looked down, through his long, black forelock, catching sparkles of blue and pink that dance on the ground. At first, it didn’t seem to out of the ordinary until he realized he had usually only seen gems that small in the walls or ceilings, never loose on the ground. Ryika spoke his thoughts only mere moments later. All of a sudden, there seemed to be a draft in the tunnel. Tenebris pinned his ears back as a shiver ran through him, and he looked towards Ciel, who had started to speak. “ I would hope that they are not cursed...I think we all have had enough bad luck for a lifetime.” He couldn’t help but agree with the little medic about taking some as souvenirs. He mused with the idea of decorating the shop or the inn with some of the gems, but decided it was best to leave them be. Just in case… More crystals appeared before them, and Tenebris strained his neck to see past those in front of him. Ozzer spoke up again, the Tie listening intently to their guide. He explained that crystals in the ground were common in less-traveled tunnels, though he guessed these ones were pulled out and put back, as if someone were looking for one in particular. The thought of someone coming down there before them sent another chill down Tenebris’ spine. He was not prepared for any form of confrontation if it got physical.

Shigure the Healer You dangle on the leash
of your own longing;
your need grows teeth Tea was offered a quick break for them all. "A dear offer, but Im afraid I will pass. Never had the taste for tea. Thank you." Shigure offered a polite smile, and yet he felt so out of it here, away from his work. Away from his studies and work of electrical therapy. Yet here he was on some mission.
Head glanced to Ciel as he spoke of the gems wondering if they were cursed as they traveled onward. As if the mere mention of cursed Shigure was quick to look down at the stones and marvel at them. "Not sure if cursed would be the right word to say the least. Perhaps something that is a bit out of place?" he remarked curiously.
Yet more questioned the cursed nature and Shigure gave a glance at Ciel as if to say look what you started here. Shigure offered a faint smile to the group. "Yes Akimoto is correct, we all knew we signed up for this, lets keep going." he tried to be encouraging, but he knew his words felt a bit dry. As if the mere words of cursed had someone seemed to darken things here and the

As the tunnel goes deeper, the crystals get larger and more varied in their shapes. Peculiarly, a few look carved. As if they belonged to a beautiful statue. Some looked like angular depictions of native wildlife and a few resembled muzzles and ears of horses, the faces calm and beautiful. Among these works of art were crystals with imperfections. The usually slow pulse was erratic on these, not following any clear pattern. The imperfections, scratches and cracks, all were deep within the crystals rather than littering the surface.

Kano Guard of Breim
A toothy grin spread across his face at the fact that his pun seemed to make the overall atmosphere of the group much lighter. His ears leaning in the direction of a certain healer complimenting his choice of words. Kano would say that he was quite satisfied. It was one of his favorite side jobs you would say - lifting others' spirits. It brought him great joy to see a frown turn upside down as corny as it sounded it was true. He wanted those he loved to be happy and has always tried his best to make that happen.
As the stallion regained his balance, with the generous help of Tenebris, he could not help but perform an exaggerated eye roll and a small snort to Ceil's cheeky comment. "You're not so bad yourself. The name's Kano, and I do not believe I caught yours?" While waiting for a reply, he turned to his friend, "Thanks, I tripped on those precious little things." Kano gestured to the gems that were scattered on the job.
As the group continued to move forward, he paid attention to what the others were saying, oddly keeping his thoughts to himself. His mind focused on perceiving the tunnel they were getting deeper and deeper into. Kano took a swig of the tea now and then when the drink made its way by him, before passing it on to whoever wanted it next. Like the others, he noted the draft and the oddities that appeared around him. He felt the pelt on his coat stand slightly on end so he wanted to be ready for whatever will possibly meet them. He looked at the gems that appeared to be carved into various depictions of creatures and horse faces. "Looks like we are not the first ones here." He commented to no one in particular.

Ryika;Breim | WardenFight For what you Truly see As Yours
As Ryika looked over at the Crystals on the ground and how they all took different shapes and forms of things, she felt kind of off but she really believed that there was something here that would help them get to what they are looking for. She wasn’t going to give up and she wasn’t going to return home empty handed either, she was determined as she looked at the others she took up the offer of tea and took a few sips of the Liquid that she had been wanting a taste of for awhile now. She was enjoying this little adventure of there's to find the new crystal it was something new for her and it might even teach her a thing or to about these tunnels and what lies ahead of them, she was curious on where this path was going to lead them to as she has never been this deep or knew anything of the tunnels back this far.
As she was very curious on these Crystals as they seemed different and was actually wondering why they was all spreaded out and shattered looking like they are, was someone here before them and just as she thought that one of her comrades said it and she nodded in agreement as it had seemed as someone must have been here. In her mind she wondered who was crazy enough to come back this far alone but then maybe they wasn’t alone, what if there was a group that they didn’t know about but she wasn’t going to let that bother her as they are way to many dangers in here anyways. “I wonder what Lies ahead I really hope it’s something that we Need, and this Tea is Delicious.” She sure did enjoy a good cup of tea when she got the chance and this is what gave her some spirit back, as they continued down the path she was nipping at the crystals with her hooves she really wanted to keep one and take it back to Haruka,
As her hooves dragged against the dirt floor of the tunnels the as she noticed they was getting bigger and was taking shape of muzzles and ears of a horse “Was that a statue or somethin?” She didn’t understand why they looked like that as if someone came in here and broke it, she lowered her head and got a closer look at the broken pieces or what looked to be broken, it was very interesting to her and wanted to learn more of it or at least wanted answers of what happened to it.

Shigure the Healer You dangle on the leash of your own longing; your need grows teeth
Traveling along Shigure noticed the difference in the crystals, watched as some seemed molded into creatures, mice and so much more. Head turned to the side he looked to them wondering had someone had such a craft for such beautiful detail? It was memorizing to say the least. Yet his face turned to nearly look at an equines face made of crystal, the peaceful serene look. "Such skill." he whispered in awe. Though it was sad to find it broken from what could have been such a beautiful statue.
Ears twitched as someone commented that they were not the first ones here. "Clearly so. I have to wonder who made these crystal statue. The craft is beyond what I have seen." He spoke in complete adoration. His pace slowed down from the group as she studied and marveled at the work. Surely someone spent their life works on such things. Where had they got such crystals to do things? Another question he found himself thinking about. Perhaps father into the tunnel they would have their answers. Perhaps meet the equine that had such a gift, a talent, a dream they had not given up on.
He wondered if he could leave something behind like this, something to mark his name on the timeline of this world. Many have wanted something of that, to ensure they are never forgotten, but they are, their legacy becomes old tales, and soon new tales take up the mantel, the old forgotten and left. Shigure shook his head sighing lightly as she looked at the shattered work as it fell over and crumbled right there. "Such a shame to see this work broken like this." he pitied it in a sense.

You've been walking for a long time through the twists and turns of the labyrinth. Passing by large and beautiful crystals, some resembling horses and animals, some of you found the sights reassuring and some unsure. Finally, the tunnel opens up to a large cavern, walls sparkling with crystals like stars in the night sky. Large crystals much like the ones in the tunnel lay scattered across the cavern floor. As the team enters the space you feel the air swirl around you, the source of the draft. Among the natural crystals you can see ones cut to appear as animals and even some small trees and glittering mushrooms The deeper you venture into the cavern the fewer broken statues you find. One of the horse statues appears caught in the moment of waking up, the serene expression frozen on the pink crystal. Near to it, another horse caught mid-turn, an active pose difficult to replicate in even the hardest of stone. Another, a kitsune, curiously sniffing. And they were all stunning.
But you are not alone. Tucked close to where you entered, a low rumble sounds. The sound echos off the walls and moves through your bones. A new blue glow drags your attention back to where you came from. Great glowing crystals begin pulsing on a mount and the glimmering reflections off thousands of smooth scales give away the beast. A great purple eye watches you.

Ozzer | Warden
No more words left Ozzer's mouth in response to the others' snippets of conversation. The draft seemed to take his breath away, the ever-changing sight of the statues stilling his lungs. Every nerve, every gut-instinct, told him this was wrong. Even as the others began to marvel at the shapes that began to appear in the gems, he couldn't shake a feeling of unease. The donkey desperately wanted to turn back, but his sense of responsibility and the tenacity of the group pulled him forward. The carved shapes that seemed to inspire some of the others did nothing to ease his mind, and he found himself turning his eyes quickly away from them. Particularly the horse-shaped gems. He could not face them, despite their welcoming expressions. Instead he focused more on the broken gems. They were shattered, cracked... and not by any natural cause that he could imagine. Their wildly pulsing light was almost like a lantern for him, each one leading to the next, stringing him along their path with his willing followers. This went on for some time. Ozzer was not even keeping track - he doubted he could have if he had tried. It seemed as if all of his senses had been put on hold, repressed from the arcane energy of the crystals. It was no wonder then, that he had lost touch with his tremor sense. Walking into the cavern did little to his sense of awe - his every nerve was already so high-strung that little else could impress him now. But coming upon one statue, so incredibly life-like and animated that he couldn't turn away from it. Despite himself, the little jack approached it, wide, terrified eyes meeting those of sparkling gem. Until a rumble suddenly pulled him back to his senses, feeling like a horse gasping for breath out of cold water. He spun around, his blessing coming back to him so violently that he briefly thought the reverberations of sound was an earthquake. That the walls were caving, and they'd be trapped in this cavern. What he was faced with made him wonder if perhaps that would have been a better option. The quakes in his bones settled into a steady rhythm, the back of his mind picking up the shifting of his companions, but more importantly the subtle movements of something much, much larger. His eyes were beginning to adjust to the glow of the cavern on something dim, but were helped along by a new, slowly growing blue that seemed to light up a path. No, not a path. It was not stones glowing, but scales. Ozzer followed the light provided by the tail all the way up what he could make out of the dark shape that he knew was a body. His breath came in shallow gasps as he made eye contact with something he could never even have dreamed in a nightmare. Ozzer had never seen or heard of such a creature, but he got no good vibes from it. He took one step backward, his body incredibly tense. They had followed the candy trail, right into a trap. He had led them there. He had brought this group of Breimians to their death.
"I'm sorry," he whispered, the words to them, to Daisuke back home, and to all the Breimians that had been counting on them. He didn't know what to do. Their known exit was currently barred. He was ill-equipped and untrained to fight - while the tunnels were dangerous, it was usually due to mistakes or surroundings... not beasts.

Arya | Master
After she had taken a couple small sips of the blessed tea, Arya passed it along to the next party member, feeling invigorated from that small morale boost. Shortly after, their path began lighting up with crystals strewn about the interior of the tunnel, some haphazardly on the ground, causing her to stumble over a couple she didn't keep her eyes on. The master opened her book, grabbed her pen and started frantically writing notes on everything they saw, documenting the tunnel as best she could, giving directions, and drawing up rough sketches of the crystals that caught her eyes.
So drawn into her scribblings that she tuned out the rest of the members, something she was prone to do in her study. Truly, not a great socializer, but she was efficient in what she did. Taking in the details as she replicated the sights on her paper, she didn't really stop to comprehend that the crystals were no longer naturally shaped. Instead, so absorbed was she, that she only stopped when she bumped into a backing up Ozzer, his words knocking her out of her trance.
Looking up, the mare finally realized what she had been drawing, and took in the beauty of the sculpted crystals before her eyes were drawn to a great purple eye. Feeling her stomach drop, her legs locked up, and she felt her kitsune step between her front legs, its' fur bristling as he looked at the scaled beast.
"What... in Argus' name... is that?" Her voice trembled as she kept her gaze locked on the eye.

Tenebris | Tie
A feeling of warmth passed over the tea shop owner as the sack of tea was passed between the members of the group. Some politely declined, like Shigure, while others indulged in the lukewarm brew. He was so into the joy that he brought out in everyone that he forgot to keep his eyes on the path. He almost tripped over one of the carved crystals, as Kano had only earlier, but managed to catch himself. Tenebris softly scolded himself, feeling the heat of embarrassment run through his body. Ryika’s voice echoed in the tunnel as she asked about these new crystals, causing Tenebris to actually look at what they were walking by. He was mesmerized by the details in these crystals, more into the stones that looked as if they were cracked from the inside yet perfect on the out. They were such a good metaphor for the herd in its current state; the idea that on the outside everyone had this image that nothing was wrong but inside, everyone had their own struggles. The urge to take one home came back, but he restrained himself once again. As they continued on, the statues became larger and more put together. Tenebris stared in awe at each new statue, some taking the form of not only equines, but creatures. He almost forgot about the draft until the tunnel opened up. It was more noticeable now, but the sight of these new statues took his attention once more. They were so life-like! They seemed so alive, as if frozen in the moment. They were only in the cavern for what seemed like seconds when a low rumble reverberated off the cavern walls. What was that? Flicking his ears back, Tenebris turned his head away from the statues, light catching his attention. It was almost the same color as the blue gems they had passed by earlier, though brighter. At first he thought that it was a stream with gems inside, like they had found a water source, but then as he continued to stare, he realized...that wasn’t water. His eyes followed the blue until it disappeared and it was then something else. Dark. Large. Breathing. Swallowing, Tenebris’ awe and admiration started to melt into fear. That...that was a body. A freaking large body, with a large purple eye staring right back at them. It definitely had seen them, didn’t it? Ozzer’s voice came quietly, an apology for leading them here, something Tenebris forgave him for instantly. It wasn’t his fault, they didn’t know where they were going anyways. Arya’s voice was next, trembling though just as quiet. ‘ Well...crap…’ he thought, suddenly wishing he had stayed back at his shop. He wasn’t trained in combat, and he had not been blessed by any of the gods. The best he could be was a tasty distraction. He swallowed again, figuring his fate was sealed. He looked to Kano, the only one he could really call a friend here, and gave him a solemn nod. He’d do what he could if the time came, and he would have to rely on the guard for help once more. He looked back at the creature, his spine shivering as he stared into its eye. “ M-maybe it hasn’t seen us yet…” he whispered, trying to be somewhat optimistic. “ May-maybe it isn’t hungry…”
